We came home with a great selection of apples and pears from the orchard, some we had not heard of before, they are all the same price by weight so you just make your own selection into a bag. We will be batch-baking apple-crumble for the freezer. They also have a nice butchery selection and local cheese amongst other edible. Not so keen about Gurneys the fresh fish shop as they didn't seem to want the custom they shut up early. The Fish and chip shop had a gluten problem which I will review separately.

We’ve driven past this place several tomes as we visit the area each year but this time decided to stop and take a look. We’d just had a Sunday Roast @ The Railway in Docking (recommended) and fancied a Mim’s East Coast Gelato ice-cream instead of anything too heavy. There are lots of lovely businesses here. We enjoyed the Antiques, the Homeware shop, the Garden Centre and of course the ice-cream but there are others such as the pizza restaurant, grocers, fish shop and of course the apple orchards to wander through. There’s also a children’s play area with adult seating. All in all worth a stop for something a little different.

I have been to Gurneys in Burnham Market and found the staff underwhelming. No hello, in fact no conversation at all. So decided to go to the one in Drove Orchard. My goodness they must recruit their staff purely on their lack of customer service. Yesterday I went to the Fish Shed in Brancaster Staithe. The contrast was amazing two delightful and knowledgeable ladies and nothing was too much trouble. Lovely chat and came away with exactly what I wanted. Anyway be who loves fish, deviate by a few short miles and go to Fish Shed (opposite White Horse) you will not be disappointed.

The place is good for a short visit and browse around the few independent shops. Not all were appropriate for us, but the garden centre alone is worth the visit. A bit pricey, but it has some less usual shrubs and plants - we bought several - and a good selection of ornamentals for the house and garden if you're feeling flush. There are a couple of eating places - a fish restaurant and an Italian style café which we did not visit.

Went to Gurneys to buy some fish for lunch. Flies were crawling all over the fresh fish. It made me feel sick. The chap behind the counter was unfriendly and could not be bothered. It’s a shame because we had been there a couple of years ago and it was lovely. The fish then was amazing but definitely not now!

The recommendation to the fish shop was a great one. I phoned prior to arrival for razor clams and a brill to be collected on the day we were going home, fish was trimmed and packed with ice for the journey. Also got temped to the gorgeous sourdough that arrived in the shop as I was collecting. Baked by them as well. Another purchase was the teriyaki salmon bellies - so tasty. Veg shop next-door had frond fennel to go with the brill. A halibut tail completed my visit. Not cheap but a visit I have fond memories of and 1st class fish and customer service.

I visit this area every month for family reasons. My dog and I love walking on the beach at nearby Holme. The Drove Orchards farm shop just to the east of Holme and west of Thornham village has a really good range of products, meat, bakery, etcetera. Amongst my favourites are the local honeys and the really tasty range of chutneys made by Candi, a local company. Next door is Gurneys which is a really good fish shop. Craynaise, fresh fish including scrumptious herrings and other delicacies. Behind the farm shop there are plenty of other good shops, a café, Eric’s fish and chips, etcetera. It really is a great place and well worth a visit.

Lots of choice of different types of individual shops including a very lovely gelato. The farm shop is great, lots of choice of local fish, locally made bread, great choice of cheeses and a great store cupboard, but some different ingredients as well. A beautiful display of fresh fruit, particularly applies and local vegetables. Really enjoyed going to all of the other shops, lots of temptation, with Christmas coming. Some years ago before this awful life of yet again the growing pandemic the owners of this farm shop cut up pieces of their pork pies for you too eat. They were very tasty, and encouraged people like me to buy them, which I did. They were very peppery, and flavourful. Obviously this isn’t happening now. Bought a pork Pie yesterday, Made in Kings Lynn. I have to say it was awful. Too much heavy pastry, loads of yelly no flavour in the meat. Wouldn’t buy another. I’ve tasted better from supermarkets at half the price.

Went to the Gurneys fishmongers here on 3rd July. I asked if it was okay to buy crabs the next morning ( Thursday ) so they could be eaten Friday tea. Spoke to a younger guy who didn’t seem particularly welcoming to say I was a customer and then an older male came over and said that would be fine if kept refrigerated . The next morning I bought two crabs from another young male who seemed he didn't want to speak unless he had to either .The crabs (£10) were placed immediately into my motorhome fridge parked outside and remained refrigerated till Friday tea . When opened they stank and the taste was bitter. They were rancid. The real annoyance is that after two emails to them via their website they haven’t had the decency to reply. Though am not surprised with their attitude in the shop. For appearances they would get five stars, for their attitude 3 and for their lack of concern 1. Pity I can’t give 0.The only negative review out of all the locations we went to in that area.

After driving back from Wells on a Sunday Afternoon (nearing 4pm) we was trying to find somewhere which sold Ice Cream . Luckily we spotted Drove Orchards Ice Cream stand selling Artisan ice cream . It was slightly expensive but the portions was huge & it tasted amazing - I had a scoop of Nutella & a scoop of Cherry Cheesecake ice cream in a big waffle cone !!! Definitely must remember to call here again .

The most amazing variety of apples, pears and other fruits available to buy from the Farm Shop or PICK YOUR OWN, which is the most fun.Farm Shop is far too expensive now. It always used to be wonderful offering fantastic veg, local bread and a large choice of cakes, biscuits and many other goods included Drove Orchard home made Apple Juices. However it has now changed hands and as a result prices are too expensive.Such a shame as it is putting off some locals who have shopped there for years.I and others will never shop there again. When we there the member of staff was definitely unfriendly verging on rude. Not a pleasant shopping experience.

I haven't been to the Yurt so can't comment on dining. The shops, however, are an ill assorted variation on Farmers Market - cum - out of town shopping centre. The Orchard shop has reasonable, if expensive, foodstuffs as well as miscellaneous fancy goods, although apples and pears are excellent value when in season. The Fish Box, a branch of the excellent Burnham Market Gurneys, has good fish, although I was disturbed by the attitude to mislabelled fish. 'Locally caught' turned out to be Cornish ... discovered this by accident. There's a trust issue there now ... is Wild Sea Bass really wild or just larger farmed? I won't be going again.

This is a great set up in a Yurt and very family friendly. We went there for the breakfasts but I would definitely return for the lunch menu too. If the day is cold they light the woodburner in the middle of the Yurt.

Last minute trip to the yurt was great. Amazing steak, and apple pie to die for. Good value - try it! We had 10 people and we all had good food

The best apple juice fresh from the orchard, we buy to bring home after the holiday. Great food and supplies. Couldn't manage without it.

Great looking venue but the worst meal I’ve had in a long time went with family I think if I was on our own would have left meal and gone I had fish and chips thought would be nice it was over cooked on top could not even eat the batter one mouthful of peas the underside of the fish was undercooked my wife had burger the bread roll looked like a cheap roll from lidle falling apart absolutely no garnish a wimpy would look better plonked down with no finesse went on to pudding thought I would go for the poached pear got about six thin slices of pear on some chocolate mousse good fifty pence worth of pudding for eight pound I thought in fairness wife’s sticky toffee pudding was nice.up half the night with bad stomach just to top off a bad night

Had a nice meal for 2 here. Decor and building is lovely, service was efficient and meals came out quickly. A decent choice on the menu, not insanely expensive depending on what you chose. Chocolate brownie dessert was delicious.

We stayed at the Kings head for 2 nights in August what a super gem of a hotel. The food and accomodation was excellent. We were made very welcome and will definitely stay again.

I went with my husband and our two dogs for an impromptu breakfast at the Sandringham restaurant. Upon arrival we were greeted by a very friendly lady who was kind to our dogs and gave them a couple of treats whilst we waited for a table to be ready in the dog friendly area. A lovely polite young man called Lucas came to take us to our table and seated us in a great area with space for our pooches. There are dog blankets at each table and a bowl of water was provided which was well received by our thirsty girls. We ordered pancakes with bacon/honey and poached egg with avocado on sourdough, coffee, ginger beer and a decadent hot chocolate served in the most beautiful royal china. The restaurant is very tastefully decorated, a light and airy space giving it a casual and relaxed atmosphere. All of the staff were efficient, friendly, polite, the drinks and food came at the right time and it was delicious! Well done to the team, we will be back!
