Just popped in for a quick drink. Seemed friendly and, although we didn't stay for it, the quiz night was popular. It might be quite small: only saw the single room with the bar at the front, though this doesn't mean there isn't more.

What a charming pub! It is very traditional. Full of characterful locals. Apparently it has been in the same ownership for 32years. Food isn’t served all the time only at the weekends at time of writing this review. The drinks are good quality and excellent value for money. We always pop in there for a pint and chat with the locals when visiting Cirencester. Thank you for your hospitality.

The Drillmans Arms, was very welcoming friendly served good ales, which is a debating point as we all have different options as to what makes a good pint. Surprised to find a fair bit of space and distance between tables. This is not my regular public house, but if I lived in the area it could well be. Nice place to spend a few hours if you don't live in the area. Keith Lane

What an absolute gem of a pub, went there to watch the England game after ringing a few days earlier to see if they were showing it. Phone enquiry was very friendly and the welcome on the day was even better, a local pub full of local people and even though we we were "outsiders" from the hotel up the road we were treated as locals by everyone. The following day we walked past on our way into Cirencester and Tina and co, who were sat outside, not only recognised us but remembered our names. This is the kind of pub you want as a local, so much so we are thinking of moving house so it can be our local.

We decided to have lunch at The Drillmans Arms, I was very dissapointed. I ordered a vegetarian burger which came with a few chips. Obviously the burger is the main part of that meal, but my burger should have been renamed a vegetarian pattie! I have never been served a burger that was so thin. I also only ate 2 small pieces of it as it was fairly tastless and soggy. Did you mention it to the owner I hear you say. No I didn't, because it was a small bar with a few locals in it and I wasn't asked if the meal was okay by the owner. I did not feel comfortable about going up to bar and complaining in front of other people. So, vegetarian's be aware and avoid the burger.

The Drillman's Arms is a rarity in this day and age, it is a no nonsense proper pub. The Drillman's Arms has all the elements of a traditional pub, indeed the front of the pub has the cosy feel of a living room about it. Modern pub goers are catered for with the big screen TV on the wall which was showing a rugby match. There are two other areas, which are located at the rear of the pub, a skittle alley with some dining tables (it can get quite busy at the front of the pub, if you want to dine there). The other room has a small bar, a pool table and dart board. The darts team must be quite accomplished, as there is an impressive selection of cups on display. As previously mentioned, the front part of the pub was busy, so my partner and I, sat in the pool room. We ordered some food, baked potatoes with a chilli con carni filling, which was well cooked. They serve good honest pub grub at the Drillman's. This was washed down with Honeysuckle smash which was in good condition. Other ales available were Commando, Phoenix and Doombar.

I am visiting the area for the first time. I had gotten lunch at one of the restaurant in the tourist area downtown, but didn't find it very filling. (I'd ordered a fish dinner...what arrived was a wonderfully prepared fish...full stop...no rice...no chips...nada...but that is another story). So, I look at their menu on the door and see burgers/fish/shrimp paired with chips (French fries)! Excellent. I go in, and find out that food is only served at lunch. Good to know. Now y'all know. But, I ordered a pint and enjoyed the company. There were half a dozen or so people watching a horse race. I got my ale and watched with them. After the race a couple of them asked where I was going to visit. They listened, and then offered additional places to see. This was so helpful. I may have to return at lunch in order to try out their burgers. BUT, if you come to this area do yourself a favor and stop in. You'll be with friends.

Its a freindly nice pub and they have got it right in these day of doom for the pub trade. we should all support them.

My partner and I had an exceptional time at Ballihoo - we especially enjoyed the ham hock and cheese croquettes, the chicken with white sauce and the cod with gnocchi - these were outstandingly delicious. We were also serenaded by the waitress as it was our birthdays, and gifted some free brownies which were so lovely. We will definitely be back!

Beagle Brasserie is a real hidden gem inside The Manor House hotel in Moreton-in-Marsh. From the street, you wouldn’t know that there is this amazing restaurant in a glasshouse inside the garden. We had lunch there on Sunday. Food is great and they even have a vegetarian Sunday roast (had never seen that option anywhere before). We loved everything we ordered, including the dessert. The sides were excellent.

We stopped by as a group of 10 children and adults, a welcomed rest after a big walk! On ordering, the gentlemen serving was really helpful with allergies and alternative meals, as they were out of gluten free pasta. It was agreed my son would have a chicken burger with an alternative bun (as it contained egg). I was feeling confident. On serving the food, the lady delivering it brought 2 chicken burgers that looked identical to the table and said 'that's the different one' and promptly left. When she brought the next lot of food, I questioned this as was expecting one bun to be different, her response was very curt and dismissive, as if allergies were an inconvenience to her. My 4 yr old having a life threatening allergy, is not something I take lightly. Eventually, on the 3rd trip back out, once the food was already cold, she confirmed they were identical and both safe, again she was very rude in her tone. I appreciate they were busy, but this is no excuse. Overall the food was good, but I could not relax and enjoy the experience. The lady needs upskilling on her allergy awareness!

Fresh food, great service, child friendly too, what more could you want from a restaurant serving Sunday Lunch. We've just come back from Sunday Lunch at Roots + Seeds in Cirencester. Crispy beer batter on the fish, really chunky chips (not fries) silky smooth mushy peas pretty much a perfect combination. The young front of house team have been well trained to make everyone feel welcome too.
