Spot on breakfast, super friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Would highly recommend for breakfast. Nice coffee to boot. Simple dining at its best

Another fab little lunch at the Drift In at East Wittering. Went for the Mezze sharing plate and loaded nachos. Both were delicious with the hummus in the mezze being ace. Love this little place with its surfy vibe.

When in East Wittering this is the cafe for us. On this occasion we had lunch with the BBC classic and the Club sandwich both with a little salad and crisps. BBC is Bacon, Brie and Chilli jam…..yum! Great staff and fab service too.

Enjoyable lunch. Good freshly cooked food in a clean and pleasant restaurant. Friendly staff recommended the brisket hash which was a great choice. We will return.

When in the area we visit this venue frequently. The food is absolutely delicious and the service always friendly and efficient. Today was no exception and we enjoyed two delicious cheese and ham toasties on granary bread with drinks. Please just give a little bit more TLC to the premises. Even though the surfing/ grungy vibe is part of the appeal I couldn’t help noticing cobwebs and a general grubbiness in the decor.

A very nice stop, short walk from the beach. Attached to the surf shop so took us a while to find it but a cut above the average seaside coffee shop. Nice decor, modern and clean with a seaside vibe. Good tea and coffee, very friendly.

Friendly, welcoming, delicious food and coffee - everything was top notch. We popped in for a coffee, ended up having cake, ice cream, tea, coffee and cake. Defiantly coming back on my next visit here.

Unfortunately the service was shocking. Needed to check myself in the mirror to make sure I hadn’t become invisible. Other tables walked out.

My family and I came down to West Wittering for a camping holiday. I needed to work so spent 9-5 every day in this delightful cafe. They were so friendly and patient with me. Allowing me to use plug sockets on certain tables, stalling over my 2 coffees per day and a bite to eat. Clearly they could have told me to leave as I wasnt really making them much money but they were so full of smiles and warm welcome. The food was unreal! Poached eggs are to die for...Coffee kept me going too :) DEFINITELY give this place a visit if you are in town

We visit for lunch each year on our annual trip to a Beach House nearby. This fabulous eatery offers a great range of breakfast/lunch food and drinks. Great vegan and gluten free options too. My family and I would highly recommend this and their sister restaurant Drifter (just down the road).

We love Drift In it’s our go-to place to eat. They have an amazing new menu. Try the Bang Bang Cauliflower with a Peanut Butter Boost. It's fantastic….

Nice bacon brioche, but bacon was a little under done. Fries were good, but for one can of coke £2.50 is an absolute RIP OFF! That is one mighty mark-up in cost price. Won't be ripped off like that again

Top bacon roll, best I had and very friendly service from the young ladies, took the roll back to my toy shop and had indian tea with it, best bacon roll ever

Just refreshments on this occasion after some walks around the local area. Always friendly and efficient staff in what is a laid back atmosphere. It’s our fave place in the area. Highly recommend.

Loved this place, friendly service and a great menu with plenty of gluten free and vegan options and even the combo of Gluten free and vegan :) so nice to be able to have options and have the same kind of food as everyone else but gluten free and vegan. Both savoury and sweet food, fab juices and delicious hot chocolate.

Had a wonderful Sunday morning brunch here - the breakfast is incredibly good value and husband said it was delicious, I had the Avocado and Bacon on Sourdough and it was wonderful and our daughter - a regular visitor to this cafe - had Beans on Toast. Lovely coffee, pleasant surroundings, attentive but not in your face service. Nice!

First time visit to the Drift In at East Wittering. Popular place at lunchtime but grabbed a nice table in the window. We went for two toasted sandwiches but that’s a naff description as they were huge chunky bread toasted sandwiches filled with bacon Brie and sweet chilli jam, plus a tuna cheese and sweetcorn. Delicious! Really friendly staff despite being super busy.

Absolutely love this place and whenever I’m down in Wittering I will always visit. Staff are friendly, love the decor and food is always amazing. Easy to find something to suit everyone on the menu, but staff are also happy to accommodate changes to orders. Would recommend this place to everyone I know.

If you want to be ignored by pre pubescent giggley schoolgirls, who are more interested in checking their social media than the customer, then this is the place for you. Looked at, but ignored 3 times whilst waiting outside for a table... Food was OK. Asked for bill, again ignored, then forgotten, then they say can I help.ypu, and I say yes, I'm still waiting for the bill. Giggles erupt from behind d the food hatch. The bill is brought over, with a screen on the PDQ presented to us asking how much tip we wanted to leave. My only tip is to find a different job. I press No Thanks on tip menu and pay. Whilst giggly no1 walked away she announces Did you see that, pathetic, to which a further outburst of giggles exploted. My advice... grow up, get a job that suits you as clearly the hospitality sector is not for you.

Been to Drift-In Surf Café four times in the last 3 months and every time has been amazing. The staff are so attentive and friendly, the food is always amazing and I can’t believe how reasonably priced it is. Can’t wait to go back.

Ended up having 2 breakfasts here and a coffee stop. Every time the staff were excellent. The food was fantastic (I am hard to please but was very happy) and the food was of great quality, good size and healthy which is what I needed!

After a short queue in the pouring rain, we were met with warm blankets and polite and friendly staff. Excellent, quick service, and a lovely lunch. Staff were super helpful. Would definitely recommend!

Absolutely excellent. Drift In has been excellent all over the ever changing rules around covid. The food has continued to be delicious. The staff have remained cheerful and helpful. This is the best cafe I have been to since restrictions started. The tables are spaced out well. The staff ensure that you have either scanned the track and trace or given your name and number. The cleaning is top notch, whilst still making families feel comfortable, even those with wet dogs.Well done Drift In.

I went to the Drift Out take-out section of the cafe today with my son and had a lovely chat with the barista. I just wanted to say to him thanks for the chat and that the coffee was the tastiest I have had for ages. The sandwich was lovely too. Thanks very much - highly recommended.

Stopped here for a snack and a drink. Staff very Covid-19 aware and took great care. Service was great and our pancakes were scrumptious. Seeing what other people were having means we will definitely be back when we return to our holiday home.

We had lunch here and it was delicious! So much choice on the menu and very reasonably priced. Staff were really friendly too. We enjoyed it so much we came back the next day for a waffle and hot drink to warm up!

Visited this cafe in west wittering. They refused to discuss ingredients properly stating everything was subject to cross contamination so I left with a hungry child. The law changed in 2014 stating that eating places must properly explain ingredients in food so this place needs to train its staff in food catering laws.

After a morning swim, we promised ourselves pancakes and smoothies here and were not disappointed. Always a delight to eat in and the social distancing and Covid measures put in place were very good. Excellent food, service and vibes.

We recently with a dog that we were looking after ,the staff could not be more accommodating, a great atmosphere and great food -my husband wanted to mix up the ingredients on offer for the pancakes which they did without batting an eyelid my chicken and mango wrap was very generously filled and tasty. Social distancing was not a problem and the attention to the covid regulations faultless

What a wonderful little surf cafe this is with an excellent menu with very healthy choices from fruit & veg smoothies to super salads with great ingredients - my favourite is a granary bread toast with sliced avocado, crispy bacon and banana served with a little jug of maple syrup and my grandkids love the smartie milkshakes and marshmallow and Nutella crepes (looks disgusting but tastes delicious!!!). The service is speedy and very friendly and efficient and I can not recommend it highly enough.

Drifters was closed for a refit but we were more than happy to go up the road to this location. Great staff, excellent food and dog friendly - what is not to like? They quality of the toast and bacon,cheese and tomato toastie were top notch. We will certainly come back agan

One of the best run places we have seen in quite a while, usually very busy bit ask nicely and the staff will try to fit you in. You don't need to be a cool surf dude and why let them have all the benefits, coffee, tea or to chocolate, breakfast or snacks or soup on a cold day or a full lovely lunch all served beautifully and well prepared. Been twice now and will be there again shortly, try it.

One of our favs in Chichester, chill setting and lovely food and drink, the only downside is it is so popular it’s sometimes so popular it’s difficult to get a table. Don’t give up it’s worth the wait!

We found this gem by accident whilst out for a walk. Plenty of space and great area at rear for a family. We ordered a full variety of drinks and breakfast for all from the very complete menu. Drinks and food arrived within a reasonable time (all young children have limited patience). Coffee was particularly good according to my coffee snob son. We all enjoyed our food, I particularly liked the avocado on granary toast. Resaonable prices were a bonus.

Our waitress was lovely and couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. Our sandwiches were really fresh and tasty. A great place for my friend and I to have a long overdue catch up! Not cheap but great quality. They happily packaged up what I couldn’t eat as I wouldn’t have wanted to waste it.

I had coffee which was first class my wife had salat which she liked. Nice bread. Wish they have more extended opening hours.

We have been coming here for many years and although the food is generally good, the service is becoming woeful.Once again today, we sat for at least 10 minutes whilst the busy, but inattentive waitresses, ignored us. We had to go to the bar and ask to place the order whereupon the girl did not even offer a ‘sorry to keep you waiting’. Such a shame but I think they are a victim of their deserved success. We will be going elsewhere in future. Is it because the owners delegate the business to less able staff I wonder?

Love The Drift In Cafe. Been coming for breakfast for years. Food and service consistently excellent. Always the warmest of welcomes. A highlight of our trips to Wittering.

Popped in here as needed a quick bite to eat but didn’t need a full restaurant / pub meal. Very happy we did! What amazing salads! Uber-generous / healthy / tasty - 10/10 all round!

Hadn’t been in to Drift-In for a while - the last time I poked my nose in a blast of fried food pushed it quickly back out... On this occasion the air was clear as it we were having a late lunch. We just had salads but they were generous in size and they’d not skimped on the tasty interesting ingredients, as is so often the sin. Service was friendly and efficient. And good value for money too. Just hope they keep the Ventaxia going, or better still leave the fry-ups to the Boulevard further down the road (whose door I’ve never darkened...)

Lovely shakes, smoothies and snacks to get you refreshed on your walk. Friendly staff and quick service... enjoyed our stop. If you didn’t want to sit down, you could always try the adjoining Drift Out!

Great place for breakfasts and lunch - menu is huge full of so many things, you have to literally try everything, the pancakes, the smoothies, the homemade cakes are all delicious! We have been eating here for the last 6 years and you can never get tired of this place. Staff are friendly and always accommodating! The only downside is that you are unable to reserve a table, it gets so busy all day round, sometimes you leave empty handed and disappointed if no where to eat!

Fantastic menu and great welcome, love the decor/styling and the ‘branding’ is clever too. Really good business model with cafe/surf shop/takeaway combined but each with its own area.

Can’t believe how slow this place is. Nice decor and staff just hopelessly slow. Better organisation would sort it out.

I took my niece for lunch and we waited and waited and waited .... then they took our order and we waited and waited and waited ... eventually after a prompt (we were told a pancake machine had exploded or some such!) the food finally arrived. It was very average and certainly not worth over 60 minutes wait. The cafe was not very busy just disorganised. A quick lunch took nearly 2 hours ... not to be repeated!

Went here for lunch and was so pleased we did. Arrived to a busy cafe but we explored the rest of the cafe and was surprised to see extra seating at the back. We sat down and was again pleasantly surprised by the amount of food that was on offer. We ordered a few things to share, as well as a few smoothies and some coffees. The drinks arrived within a good amount of time and they were delicious. Highly recommend the smoothies!! Our food was cooked beautifully and was absolutely delicious. The staff were very attentive and nothing was ever too much- they checked up on us regularly. We will definitely be returning soon and would highly recommend a visit!

We recently stayed in West Wittering and a great friend recommenced this café for breakfast, or lunch! We visited it for lunch - delicious. I had a scrumptious tuna melt and oat milk latte, my husband had a chicken salad. Sadly no puddings as we've given them up for lent! Would highly recommend. It had a great atmosphere, great service and we would go back.

once again my sisters and I met up for coffee and lunch at this wonderful cafe in East Wittering. We usually manage to get together ever couple of months, so could not be regarded as regulars.

My girlfriend and I came across this place whilst looking for a quick bit of lunch after a surf - what a find!

I had the most delicious peanut butter and dark chocolate granola and yoghurt and my boyfriend loved his spicy Italian sandwich. Fantastic service too! Would thoroughly recommend.

After a windy cold walk on the beach we had the most amazing soup and sandwiches. Lovely friendly staff and even treats for the puppy. Will defiantly be returning

We were passing through so relied on Google to find us somewhere nice for a light lunch. We were not disappointed. The woman serving us was about as good as it gets. She was delightful and was able to advise helpfully on vegan options. We had some delicious sandwiches, with bread as thick as we wanted – in our case, very! I would happily return and can certainly recommend it to others.

Stopped here twice in one day, first for a takeout coffee (which was excellent) and an ice cream. The afternoon visit was more about a snack (mini messers - sandwich, crisps and drink - great choice for kids) and nachos for the grown ups (which were great). Service wasn’t the best on the second visit, otherwise couldn’t fault it (for example, no cutlery or napkins provided with the nachos)!

Very good great place to meet up .we called in before driving 5 hours home ,wished we lived nearer .Sunday 21st October.

There is everything to love about this place, beautifully chilled, gorgeous decor, within a 5 minute walk from the stunning witterings and amazing drinks and cookies (and food, but especially the smoothies and cookies, dotty being my personal fav).

Went for a light lunch with a friend. We had a lovely meal, pancakes and a salad and there was an interesting selection of smoothies, not the usual banana concoctions. Service was friendly and unobtrusive, a great realaxed experience and a very reasonable price.

I had cheese and ham pancake, was much better than expected truly delicious. My wife had a salad bowl that was massive and well thought through. Slices of cake for dessert was great. Drinks were good and can’t wait to come back to try granola smoothie. Lovely staff.

This place started the East Wittering "update" and has gone from strength to strength. Its in heart of village, everything you could want, great coffee, smoothies, ice creams, yummy wraps, pancakes, sandwiches, salads, cakes, all delicious

We were in town to buy some seaside stuff from Shires and asked for a lunch recommendation and was directed here.

We found this to be a lovely restaurant, something for everyone and brilliant service. The restaurant is also light and airy. 4 stars as not all good up to scratch but ambience more than makes up for it!

I went with my family for my son's birthday and there wasn't enough chairs to sit on. I took a chair to sit down and was told rather abruptly to put it back. I was rather surprised at her attitude and lack of understanding. Eventually after a heated discussion, the waitress decided that I could have the chair after all. The table where the chair came from had no people sitting there all evening. The food was ok and the waitress had a change of attitude during the evening. I would not go there again as the waitress was rude, it should have been a happy event but it was rather spoilt for me.

We love the drift-in! Menu is great and they do dairy free options and staff very helpful. Definitely recommend.

We popped in for a quick lunch all five of us - 3 kids aged 6-9, myself and my partner. It looks great, part shop, ice-cream parlour and cafe. Nicely decorated and not too over cool to make you feel uncomfortable. Loved the smoothies and choices for kids and the great toasted sandwiches and salads.. with lively little ones they were thoughtful and helped them settle with no scolding looks. We all enjoyed our stop there and will make it a regular hang out... might even think about surfing one day! PS kids loved the old classic scooters shining in the sunshine on display outside..

We spent a lovely day in East Wittering today. Enjoyed some very good coffee in the Drift In Café and then had a fab time surfing with a rented surfboard and wetsuit from the shop. Very reasonable prices, lovely location. The staff were so attentive and friendly. Will be going back soon!

My family and I visit here regularly as we have a place locally and we are yet to have a bad meal!
