Dream Turkish Kitchen in South Hams

We stumbled across this place, the name nearly put us off, as did the creepy mannequin in the entrance hall! I’m glad we decided to eat here though. The food was excellent and the waiter was charming and funny. We had the mixed meat mezze to share but had to have half of it bagged up to bring away, it was huge! The waiter recommended a nice Turkish wine to accompany it. I’d never have considered a Turkish wine usually but it was great.

Had a lovely meal here when we first arrived to Kingsbridge after a long day of travelling. Service was brilliant and food was really delicious and decent sized portions. Our fussy toddler even ate lots of the chicken, lamb and rice. Would highly recommend.

Back down in my home county of Devon for a short break in East Allington with the family. Went to get a takeaway from Kingsbridge - we were absolutely blown away! Slight mix up with our order but the owner sorted it immediately and very professionally. The food is exceptional, very authentic and absolutely delicious! Highly, highly recommended

We visited here in July 2024 for a big group / couples meal with friends. I pre-booked the table a few months in advance, as I know the Turkish gets very busy so didn't want to miss the opportunity. The staff, as always, were so welcoming and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. We all ordered the mixed grill platter, and it's always a 10/10. The meat is so flavourful, and the sides are amazing. If you haven't been here yet, you must visit! Highly recommend.

Lovely to have something "out of the norm" for kingsbridge! Fantastic food, large portions and all at a great price. The decor inside was really nice and loving the music mix! If i could find one negative then maybe the service was a bit slow at the end when it came to paying (especially as there was no one else in the restaurant) bit service throughout was great!

Dined here on spur of the moment due to chef being off at our first choice...so glad they were but obviously hope they've recovered! From initial welcome after very late booking, whole experience was excellent. Service was efficient and friendly even though restaurant busy, food excellent and so much of it!! Overall fantastic choice, would definitely recommend.

I like to say what a wonderful and delicious meal we had. Had great service and loved the atmosphere. There was a group celebrating their birthday which was acknowledged and another group of friends hanging out. Had a mixed appetizer which worked great with all. Then followed with a Lamb shish, and Ali nazik (chicken dish) They have quite an extensive menu including vegetarian. A nice wine list and bar drinks. Loved the food, And enjoyed talking to the owner. Will be back next time in town. Do suggest you make reservations as we did since that Saturday evening people were turned away since it was busy!!

very good and friendly service - an excellent Turkish red, went perfect with the meal excellent hummus and shakshuka (aubergine) starter, with such fresh and refreshing salad accompaniments for our main we would have liked to have shared one of the Dream Testi specials, but unfortunately it requires two-hours preparation, so ideally would pre-order the day before to ensure that if you fancied it - we will do that if and when we return to Kingsbridge instead we had the Lamb Shota, very good too

Lovely food, attentive staff, loud atmosphere on a Saturday night, not to go to for a quiet meal.

Fantastic meal after being let down by a nearby restaurant, the guys managed to squeeze us in on their last remaining table, food was incredible, we had turkish soup, pastrami hummus to start and lamb sote and lamb guvec for main. Word of warning portions are on the large side and make sure you book, a must if you are in Kingsbridge

We celebrated my wife's birthday here and it was brilliant. We have been to Turkey many times and love the people and the food, this is the 1st time we have enjoyed the same experience in the UK. Had delivery. Service was quick and efficient. Food was fine. But in my opinion, for the prices this restaurant is charging, this food is not good enough. Meat tough and over cooked, mixed kebab massively overpriced and was very tough meat. It was tasty, but extremely over cooked and I have had far far better quality food for nearly half the price in another area. I want to be fair here, but this place really needs to either make sure the meat is cooked perfectly, or lower their prices a bit. As things stand now, most other food establishments in kingsbridge are offering better value for money. Jamie

Lovely restaurant with really great food. We had the meze and loved all the different dishes. We had the one for 4 between 2 of us and came away stuffed but very glad we'd been able to try the variety of dishes. I think the one for 2 would have left us a little hungry at the end but I guess that's where dessert would have come in!

We booked a table to celebrate our friends 90th Birthday. On arrival we were rushed into making our choices which we did noting this was 7pm on a Saturday and the restaurant was not busy. We ordered a sharing meme starter which was great. 5 minutes later our mains all arrived and we were advised to use the starter with the main course. The whole evening experience was over in 45 minutes just as their 8 o’clock table arrived. Rushing us like this was very unfair and the staff were not helpful or friendly. We have been here many times before but not be going here again.

Was visiting for the weekend from London, and found this restaurant that served halal food. Honestly probably one of the best turkish restaurants i have been to! The food is so so good and authentic, atmosphere and service spot on! Wish u guys would open one in London!

I've only had take aways from dream Turkish kitchen but they were top end take aways. I don't know what it's like inside but when you order it comes in a good time and the people delivering are always nice. The chips are amazing they are a must have and unlike most take aways I feel good after

Having been to many Turkish restaurants, I didn’t expect the food to be any different here. But I was wrong! The standard is very, very high, every mouthful a delight. Service was friendly and excellent. I will definitely return when I’m back in Devon!

Came here as a large group for a birthday meal. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating (as always), helping us with balloons and banners and making sure we were happy with everything before the whole group arrived. We all had the mixed grill and everyone said how amazing and delicious the food was. We've been here a few times now, and the food has never disappointed. A really good restaurant in Kingsbridge that I'd recommend to anyone.

Booked a table for four on the 29 July by phone for 7:30pm on Saturday 5th August. Lady on the phone confirmed reservation. Turned up tonight and we were told our reservation was actually booked for 8pm. We were told to go away and return at 8. We did, and when we returned we were seated at a table, ordered our drinks and were given a menu. Ten minutes later we were told they wouldn't serve us as the table they had given us was actually for other people and they hadn't actually got a booking for us at all. We asked why if that was the case had they said our table was actually booked for 8pm. We pointed out that we had booked and the confusion was his not ours and after a few sharp words we left. Not impressed to be told the problem lay with us and won't be going back.

Had early dinner and were still able to serve good food

Having been before, we were disappointed this time. The food was still good, but the service, whilst friendly, was poor. Unfortunately, there appeared to be no manager in charge as we’d had before and many of the staff struggled to understand our questions and requests, so we didn’t always get what we’d asked for.

These guys do the best chips ive ever tasted....the best delivery times and the meat is cooked perfectly ...ill definately be poppin down to eat in at the next opportunity and ill be bringing the family too .... would recommend to anyone! ;)

We stayed in Kingsbridge for 3 nights and ate here all 3 nights. Every dish was excellent, perfectly cooked, flavoursome and came in large portions. The service was friendly and efficient, and the general atmosphere was very pleasant. Highly recommended.

Wonderful Turkish food, creamy chicken dish a delight.

Lovely food, always full of flavour. So easy to order and collect as well, though we have eaten in before. The baklava we had this week was the best yet!

This is an excellent restaurant with a warm welcome and very attentive service, drinks offered as soon as we walked in, menu is extensive and offers many options including vegetarian. I would highly recommend the cold meze and the kebabs along with the chicken kebabs....

We just discovered this gem. Local(ish) and had no idea it was here. Very authentic Turkish cuisine, so delicious & loads of veggie choice. Every plate comes with chips, salad & rice. Just disappointed that I got too full to try dessert next time I'll make sure to squeeze it in. Highly recommend, we'll definitely be back.
