Fun little bar with good music and friendly staff. Cocktails were very nice and reasonably priced. The tacos (which come from next door) are very tasty.

This venue is run by the same folks at the excellent Victoria up the road in Dalston. However, seems they didn't really fix this place's faults before opening a whole new venue. The sound is loud, like, really needlessly loud. I've had this corroborated by several people across multiple gigs. What's more, I've heard from artists that the tech repeatedly fails with remarkably few backups. I honestly don't think this place is well set up to be a venue for anything other than acoustic sets or DJ nights. DBJS also suffers the perennial problem of having a Shoreditch crowd, but what are you going to do? (Easy solution: go somewhere else)

Hip place, middle aged crowd, warm friendly outing place with room to unwind downstairs as bands & DJ's set the nights 🌙 tone.

Cheap drinks, great atmosphere, chill DJ sets, friendly staff and doormen. Will definitely return!

Love this spot for a night out in London - amazing variety of gigs/dj sets throughout the week, great atmosphere and nice signature cocktails.

Whilst we waited 25 minutes at the bar to be served, the staff were openly doing shots behind the bar. Which is utterly disrespectful, I am all ok with staff having fun on shift but not at the disregard of the customer. I understand this is trendy east London but that is too far. Will not be coming back. When I am paying 6.80 for a pint I expect better service

Can’t say much about the food or drinks as I only had a beer but the atmosphere was great with a live DJ set and cool people coupled with a interesting decor which make this a bar you should definitely visit. Personal rating : 7/10

The guests at the party I attended brought the atmosphere. There was only one staff member behind the downstairs bars. They were lovely but overwhelmed, leading to very slow service. The host of the party brought the DJs, who were brilliant, and kept the dance floor full all night. Upstairs the bar staff -again friendly- seemed a little unsure of the cocktail recipies. The Less-is-more decoration worked well. Inspite of the slow service our party had a great night here.

They sell neither bags nor shoes but they do put on a good night, recommended.

Avoid this place at any chance. Awful waitress blaming me for ordering tap beer. It was warm, had no gas and taste was terrible. When telling her all the previous, she just said "it's your bad, nobody order that drink"

This has to be one of my favourite bars in London! I love the vibe and the temporary exhibitions they always have. Cocktails are nicely priced and quite good! Definitely my go to place in the neighborhood!

Went for a gig (K.C. Blackwater) and have to say it was the best small venue sound I've experienced in a long time. Quick service at the bar, reasonable prices for London and good choice. Cool vibes.

Great bar with a downstairs gig venue. Nice in the summer as there are big glass windows that open completely. Bring earplugs if you are going to a gig and have sensitive ears.

🇬🇧 We bumped into this place while we were looking for a place to have a drink. The atmosphere got us. The vibe of the place was unique. The music was great. The people were amazing as well. What I don't like is the long queues for getting a drink. It took ages to have one. Please, visit the basement because they have another DJ and the vibe is kinda different but really enticing. 🇪🇸 Nos topamos con este lugar mientras buscábamos un lugar para tomar una copa. Used to be cool but crowd is horrible at the moment. Its like any other bad bar in shoreditch. They shouldn’t let all those random people in who don't fit in the place and the vibe which has been presented years before.

We used to come here frequently when we lived locally. Decided to see how it’s getting on since we moved away. We were not disappointed. It is as packed as always with an eclectic crowd. There was live music downstairs and upstairs was rammed. Though the bar was busy the staff really knew what they were doing and we were served quickly. I love how the art work changes frequently and is always interesting and innovative. Well worth a visit.

I was expecting a better ambiance but it was a good experience still. I am not sure if I'd go there again, nothing special but good drinks and staff.

Its been a while since I was last here and I'm happy to report nothing has changed. Still the place to hang out to meet interesting and friendly people and has survived the many cycles of Shoreditch for this reason. Don't expect anything flash or even a great drinks selection but look forward to a vibrant atmosphere and a great casual night out.

Enjoyable venue, music stage area is really small however and the sound is really bad due to poor acoustics and a lack of dedicated sound mixing

Nice venue and bar. I reserved a table for 8:30pm on a Saturday as I know Saturdays can get busy and wanted to be sure myself and my group had somewhere to sit. I reserved for 3 people so not a huge amount. When we arrived there were no seats at our table, so we told a male bar staff member. He was extremely dismissive and just shrugged and said we’d have to find our own seats. Is this not the point in booking? We wouldn’t have minded but the table was too low down and right in the middle of the floor for us to stand around instead. It was obvious a large group on the table next to us had taken the seats meant for our table. Eventually, we managed to get seats by going round the venue and asking for unused seats but it was irritating to not have anywhere to sit. However, once we were sat down we had a enjoyable night, the cocktails were really nice and reasonably priced! The two women working behind the bar were really lovely.

The music at the -1 is great. They also serve one of the best old fashioned of London.

I do love this place, it's always one of my first choice in London, however last time I went (on a Thursday) two fights happened in the same night (one in the basement and one upstairs), making me feel unsafe and shaken ruining my moment with friends and drinks. I am sure it's not their fault but I can't give you more than 3 stars due to that.

This is a nice bar that has an abstract decor. The bar has a lower ground where they host nights for new musical talents. The drinks are relatively cheap and it was very vibrant when I went.

Such a fun place with reasonably priced drinks and good and fast service! Great for a night out, they do live music and DJ gigs as well. Honestly so glad we found this little gem!

Busy on a Wednesday night, good live music, good crown. Free entry/performance. If you can see past the hipsterness this place is probably the best bar in Shoreditch imo

A really fun place for meeting friends and having relaxed drinks. The crowd is fun and friendly, and the margaritas are super delish! Extra fun when it’s warm out and you get so chill outside. And they do a really great music selection! 100% would recommend.

Amazing venue. Great vibe both upstairs but especially downstairs.

Hard to say... Average? Our experience in the basement was terrible, but it could be good upstairs. You needed an internet connection to order a drink, but there's no cellular down there and the WiFi is shaky at best. Plus, the website is janky and the menu seems to change hourly. It took six of us a half hour to order a round of beer on our phones when the bar was dead. If the bar or waiters now allow you to order in person again, or do so soon, that'll probably be irrelevant!

Bit run down if I'm honest. Highly rated not sure why. Place needs repainting and better pricing of drinks. Totally over rated but was good in the past.

Really good fun venue. Highly recommended. Upstairs bar is fab with great cocktails - service very good. Downstairs dance floor is super fun as well. For gigs, make sure you book in advance and have tickets to show at door. Pic shown - lighting is not as red as in photo!

Visited to see some live music. At street level there is a wonderful bar that had draught and bottled beer plus many cocktails which seemed very popular with others present. The staff were delightful and the service was fast and efficient, prices were typical for the area. There is an event space downstairs which though not large was very nice plus it had a bar as well. The sound was superb though the stage lighting was perhaps a bit underwhelming with only two luminaires but that seems a common issue with venues in London. Overall a really nice place and one could easily spend the evening there even if not visiting for the music.

Some staff was relatively ok but when I asked one waiter for another round of g&t, his response was ‘I I’ll bring it over but don’t talk to me like I’m your slave’. For me it was shocking and so offensive of him when I talked to him with nothing but respect and politeness. His rationale was ‘I’ve said what I had to say’ which makes no sense at all. Not coming back and seems like there’s definitely nothing to come back for.

Awesome place to have the second or third drink of the night! The staff has always been friendly and quick and I like the lighting and the colorful walls. Energetic spot that is usually packed with interestig people and quite loud. The basement hosts the dancefloor. I liked the music (electronic). The air conditioning could use an update as oxygen is scarce on the dancefloor but maybe it's part of the eclectic and quirky charme of this place.

It’s still one of my favourite bars in #london - Dream Bags Jaguar Shoes continues to re-invent itself on a regular basis. It’s a mix of urban cafe bar, pub, club and gallery and is one of the few venues that can pull off this varied game well.

Its all about keeping the old look still had the old signs lol. Good cocktails and Drinks-and great music highly recommend .

Nice enough, relaxed atmosphere. As though a dive bar and red neon shop front had a baby, but that's East London so, I was into it. There's a club downstairs but the music was a bit off piste and not in a good way

Unique and completely unpretentious, which is quite a feat in Shoreditch. Lovely cocktails and awesome pizza, overall a great value enjoyable night out.

Lush vibes and delicious local crafted beer brew

The two cocktails we ordered were very watery - tasted like weak juice with no alcohol. One barman very dismissive to my wife when she complained, when I complained they just insisted ''good cocktails don't taste boozy.' and refused to remake them. Will avoid.

Mi compañero y yo visitamos este establecimiento dos veces en un espacio de tiempo muy corto con dos contrastes de experiencia completamente diferentes. La primera vez que visitamos por casualidad (pero no la primera) fuimos allí literalmente por uno para el camino. Llegamos y estaba moderadamente ocupado. Había tres camareras sirviendo. Recuerdo que pedí un Daiquiri torcido del menú de cócteles, pero Mi novia quería algo fuera del menú ya que no le gustaba nada en el menú. Ahora, los tres bartenders conversaron con nosotros y se reunieron para crear una bebida mixta perfectamente equilibrada y presentada para mi dama y todo el intercambio fue muy impresionante. Yo mismo soy un barman bastante hábil, y por lo general evito conducir en el asiento trasero o ser prepotente cuando nos encontramos con otros bares, pero ambos respondimos con actitud y aplicación impresionados. Entonces, como prueba de esta visita, regresamos un par de semanas más tarde con la esperanza de una experiencia similar. . . . ¡Ay, nuestras esperanzas se vieron frustradas! ! Esta vez, tres camareros masculinos, pedí un Daiquiri clásico, que si usted va a un bar decente, o más y más Es importante que cualquier camarero que valga la pena pierda la oportunidad y sacuda y hornee una bebida a su satisfacción, es Literalmente un requisito básico. Nos quedamos atónitos cuando rechazaron mi solicitud y dijeron que estaba "fuera del menú" cuando los dos miramos por encima del hombro y vimos todos los ingredientes disponibles. En ese momento deberíamos habernos ido, pero pensé bien, bueno, bueno, tengo algo del menú. Así que le pedí al camarero que sirviera una de las bebidas directamente en lugar de en un vaso alto. . It's a nice place to go and have drinks after work. Slightly more expensive than other places in the area, but the crowd is quite cool. They have some interesting beers and can do some good cocktails. It gets crowded on Fridays though.
