Dragon Pearl cottage Chinese take away in Newcastle upon Tyne

First time using this Chinese takeaway and definitely won’t be my last! Delicious food, good portions & great prices, can’t go wrong!

By chance, there was a Chinese restaurant with good reviews near the accommodation I was staying at, so I stopped by! There are so many menus haha ​​:) After looking at the review photos, I took a screenshot of the one that looked the most delicious, showed it to the owner, and ordered it! The one I chose was beef and chicken with mushroom(?). It seemed to be a dish of vegetables and meat stir-fried with oyster sauce, and it was so delicious! I am very satisfied with this level of quality and taste in England, where the prices are bad... 😊❤️ I have to go again

Always a really nice welcome while ordering and the front of house guy is excellent I always have a great chats with him while waiting for food prep. The food we order is very nice good portion sizes and very good quality and value.

Brilliant for Gluten free dishes, great value for money

Great take away. They are friendly , clean & helpful. Next to having great chinese food they also have some very tasty thai dishes ( spicy & non spicy) like thai fried rice & some dishes that you can not find in any supermarkets. They also adjust things like if you want your chips well done ( more crispy) or make a dish less spicy if you are not good with spicy food but want that specific dish.

We ordered 3 munch boxes 2 plain and 1 salt and pepper and they were all banging. Very good portions for the price, it’s fresh and the ribs ain’t dry either. 10/10 for the food, the service and delivery.

The food is lovely and always delivered quickly. I highly recommend their Hoi sin chicken with fried rice.

The shop is clean and the staff are helpful and friendly. The food is tasty, you can taste the fresh veg and meat. They don't use the cheapest ingredients yet the prices are fair and competitive. I've also used their delivery service many times and have never had a problem. The meal is always hot and bang on time. I've been going for years and wouldn't go anywhere else.

First meal from here as was recommended by my sister. It was the best we have had in a long while. Thank you We cant wait to try something else this weekend

First time we’ve tried here and have to say the food was really excellent. Had a chicken and a beef dish and both had big chunks of meat in them and the Yung Chow fried rice was a huge portion and absolutely delicious! Will definitely be trying this place again very soon!

Editing this review to drop it from a 5 star to a 3 star. Never had a bad meal from here, but tonight standards have dropped down, and it seems a recent review from last week says the same? No more free prawn crackers on orders over £10. Hardly any sauce in the chicken. Everything just tastes different, and not in a good way. Have new owners taken over? Think I’ll be trying other takeaways now

So disappointed in our meal tonight. I've never had a bad meal of the dragon but standards slipped tonight. I hope they pick back up or will be using a different takeaway

As a Chinese, I would say that this is a very authentic, good taste and definitely not expensive Chinese restaurant, with very lovely and friendly owner—it’s my favorite restaurant in Newcastle.

Great food as usual always go the extra mile when ordering food as I don’t like water chestnuts or bean sprouts. Been ordering from here for years and years now and always the same great Quality.

Adore the foid cooked/prepd here,cant fault the place,we come up from durham to get our chinese meals here...top quality..tell them the bus drivers recommended them👍👍👍👍👍

Food is always good with excellent service

£6.10 for incredibly greasy vegetable Singapore noodles. Very expensive, so I guess it must offset all of the oil they have to replace

Amazing food! Absolutely love the munch boxes as they are jam packed and definitely get your monies worth! Make sure you take cash as they don't take card but it's definitely worth the inconvenience of visiting a cashpoint!!

Love, love, love this place. The staff are great and very friendly the food is amazing. I've tried a few different Chinese takeaways and especially since moving out of the area but if I ever want a chinese I always drive back up to go see sue. Can't recommend the dragon Pearl cottage enough

Best chicken fried rice and all the deep fried dish's are some of the best I've had. The Shezuan is Rick worthy!

Best Chinese around I have tried lots of Chinese places and pearl dragon is my top place food so delicious and tasty loads of food for your money I won't be going anywhere else I would give pearl dragon more stars if I could Thankyou for such fab food
