Dosa Hut in Wolverhampton

Ordered 2 chicken dosa's and one actually had hair inside the stuffing, on uber eats it said if you spend more than £20 you'd receive free poppadoms however, we received none. When I called the restaurant the man was argumentative and was debating with me regarding the poppadoms and called me a liar. I didn't care about the poppadoms I explained that there was hair in one of the dosa's and he said I'm lying. The hair was light brown when all of ours is pitch black. Messaged uber eats to complain about this and I was given my money back for the unhygienic dosa. Truly disgusting and disappointing attitude. Never again will we buy anything from here let alone a bottle of water.

Me and my family went for a meal here for the fist time the food was nice and so was the drinks but the table service was was superb quick prompt service we were served by a young lady we think her name was Kajal so polite and helpful We Definitely will be coming here again

The food tasted good, but ordered a chicken 65 and received an item similar to chilli chicken they said this is how they make chicken 65. Please update your menu description accordingly so people won't be confused.

Reheated stale food. The only thing that they couldn’t reheat was the dosa. Staff were unfriendly and extremely unhelpful. We have been coming here regularly for a few years, but we won’t be returning or recommending anyone to this place. Clearly gone downhill since the refurbishment. Tall waiter was unhelpful as he could be. The lamb sheesh kebab was the worse and un eatable. Not that any of all the other dishes were any better. And they were not even busy. So no excuses Soft carbonated drinks only available on draught, no cans or bottles- they only do Pepsi and no coke cola. 😡

Today enjoyed Chai galli bearkfast amazing quality of food and service. Specially curiously food preprepared by Chef Rohit & Sara. I recommend to all must visit to enjoy amazing food.

Excellent service by all the staff members, especially by Jyoti, who served us so well. Few members of our group were intolerance to black salt. All the meals served were hot & tasty, such a wide range too. Differently recommend the restaurant to my friends and colleagues.

Me and my husband visited today in restaurant for dinner. Food was fantastic But the serving staff was so bad and served in very rude manner . First the waitress came to us for order i said yes we are ready to place order and she said already and walk off before we finished speaking .. We noticed too many times that customer service non existent in this restaurant that's why i never prefered to visit here but husband insist me to go over there . I will never come to this restaurant next time .

I had a lovely experience at Dosa but i had trouble finding parking space. All the dishes were delicious and well made especially the vegetarian Dosas. However, my brother wanted a non-vegetarian Dosa but there were only two options on the menu which upset him. I also wanted to more dipping sauces and chutneys but there were not many options which I sad about.

Delicious food only need to book in advance on weekends always busy

I came all the way from London to try some Indian cuisine as one of my friend works over here and as per her recommendation, I loved the food and the person who was serving us ( PRANISH ) was awesome. We got along so well with him also other staff was so tender. One thing was that the music was super boring, could have been a bit more energetic.

Waiting for delivery more than one hour

One of the very best in the region. A great menu with lots of dishes you don't see in many restaurants alongside plenty of familiar standards. Friendly, enthusiastic staff and always a buzz. They can get very busy, even though they can seat perhaps a couple of hundred diners, so booking is advisable.

I ordered a masala dosa. Upon sitting down I advised the waitress I have a serious nut allergy and also coconut allergy. After her checking with the chef 3- 4 times, she still served food to me with coconut in. It seems that they don’t seem to take life threatening allergies seriously. I had to keep asking a number of times if it was okay to eat and was misadvised several times. After checking a few times with the staff, I ate the sambar that comes with masala dosa, I was then advised it contains coconut after I had taken a few bites and had to spit it out ( after they had reassured me I can eat it). They even provided dips for the table that contain coconut after I’d already explained a few times of My allergy. At this point, my whole experience has been ruined due to having not been taken seriously and I just wanted to leave. The manager behind the bar was extremely rude stating it was my fault that I hadn’t told them about my coconut allergy, which I had advised quite a few times. Didn’t even get an apology and they gave me a measly 20% off the bill after I complained. Luckily I didn’t leave in an ambulance. Hopefully they don’t even up killing someone due to their negligence. I would avoid this place if you have any allergies as it’s not worth the trip to A&E

Best place for lunch and dinner, especially for family, including children.

We haven't been there for a while so was pleasantly surprised when we went in to see that it's had been refurbished. Lovely atmosphere and staff, food and drinks bought on time. We ordered chaat, panner tikka, dahi puri as starters and Dosa for mains. Have never been let down, the Dosa's taste amazing everytime along with the sambhar and chutneys. Best Dosa place in the midlands. A must try.

Great food, but waiters keep hovering around and keep looking on food on the table which is quite annoying! A little bit of time, space, consideration, and privacy when you going out for a meal would be nice! Hope they work on it.

We were 6 and really enjoyed the food at Dosa Hut. We had a variety of dishes and were all happy. Each dish had its own unique taste made up of perfectly balanced spices. The portions were a good size. The service staff were helpful and attentive. The restaurant has been nicely decorated and was comfortable.

Amazing food and great atmosphere

Dined here today, our drinks weren't brought to the table, our food had been eaten and we had to ask again to get some water, staff bringing out more plates but not cleaning the table so we had to put plates on the floor as we had nowhere to put them, trying to get waiters attention was very hard and when we did try to speak they would walk off before we finished speaking. Didn't bring out everything we asked for. When raising an issue due to a dish that wasn't what we expected the manager was rude. Customer service non existent.

I have visited dosahut today and been served by Amrutha and Pranish, Staff is really nice, polite and cooperative. Food was delicious as always.

First time at Dosa Hut and I was impressed by the upstairs sitting space in particular; the booths were comfortable and the toilets were clean. As for the service, it was friendly and efficient with an average wait time of about five minutes for food, which is impressive by any restaurant standard. As for the food; I ordered the chilli paneer and fries as a starter. The paneer was soft and fresh and smothered in a sticky, spicy sauce. There was a slight imbalance from sauce to paneer ratio, however it was one of the best dishes of the evening. The fries were fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside, perfect as chips go. For the main I ordered the plain dosa and the dosa itself was very crispy and absolutely gigantic, but the sambar was far too spicy and hit the back of the throat upon eating. Three chutneys came with the meal: a coconut, a tomato based, and a chilli/mint. Out of the three I’d recommend the tomato as it was flavourful and a sweet relief from the spice of everything else. The chilli/mint chutney was refreshing and cut the grease of the dosa, although the coconut chutney left much to be desired as it was quite bland possessed a slightly dry texture. For dessert I ordered the chocolate ice-cream and an Irish coffee. The coffee was generously topped with whipped cream and had a deep bitter flavour, but the Jameson whisky added was very overpowering and had little flavour. The coffee would have suited better with Bailies or even a sweeter brew. The chocolate icecream was rich, creamy and perfectly sweetened. I would happily come back just for a scoop. Overall I would rate Dosa Hut 3.5/5 as the attentive service and fast delivery really carried the experience, although all the dishes I ordered were over-spiced and lacking depth. Out of all the dishes the dosa, as the name of the restaurant implies, was the signature dish of the evening. In my humble opinion, adding a milder sambar to the menu and sweeter chutneys for dipping would gain another star for the eatery. Hats off to the chefs for the perfect crispy dosa. -P.R

Fantastic food! If I had to suggest, get the Chicken Lollipop, Prawn Masala or Chettinad Chicken and any bread/rice of your choice. Oh also special mention: Poori and Chole Bhature! The best Indian Restaurant I have eaten in the West Midlands! Service was friendly and food came out pretty quick! Dont forget to finish off your meal by popping in for a Chai at their Cafe next door: Chai Galli! P.s. Highly recommend going with a group of friends or family and ordering different dishes to share! You wont regret it!

Real dosa and real authentic taste. They didn’t change any spices to make it British. If you love dosa, this is the place.

This place has had a recent refit but please give your waiters some basic training. The food is served with the waiters thumb inside your bowel/food, What is the hygiene practice inside the kitchen if this is happening in full view? Basic hygiene and etiquette training is desperately needed.

I wouldn't recommend this place at all. They call themselves a Dosa hut when they only have 2 non vegetarian Dosa on their menu! They don't have baby changing facilities, they didn't offer me a high chair even though I asked for one, and they didn't even offer, but apparently as a costumer we are meant to ask, even though when I booked our booking I put the notes as need high chair! They are rude and the service is awful! I told them I wasn't happy they offered me 10% I refused that amount off and said I wanted 50% they refused so I walked out! They then said I was free loader! And I should be ashamed of myself and it's dispectful with being sikh and my sikh dad! Oh and to top it off I had to change my babies nappy on the disabled toilet floor! Which they didn't care about because I was meant to ask and they would tell me it's getting refurbished and one is going to be put in! Complete joke!

Why does Chennai dosa charge mandatory service charge for food collection when ordered online? There is no service provided, than why the charge and that too mandatory

Dosa Hut is always one of my favourite restaurants. Food is always nice, but service is terrible 😑. We went last week, When my dosa came , sambhar was cold so I had to ask them to change it, but it took ages to exchange it . I had to ask them where's my sambar 😐. There was a rude lady she pointed out my daughters drink n said outside drinks are not allowed I said I agree do you do this smoothie ? Because my daughter just drink that . She said no still not allowed so silly really . It's really shame I don't want to go there anymore , Rude staff.

I'm extremely disappointed and unhappy. I thought with the new floor plan and expanded space, the food and service would improve, but I was wrong. its not the space that matter its the food and service that's a customer experience that matters. My 1-star review may not change anything, but I want to share my experience. The popadoms were stale, the paneer tikka was the worst I've ever had, and the onion chutney tasted like it was older than me. I gave my feedback to a staff member, Just to be clear, customer feedback isn't about getting a discount—it's so they can improve the quality of their food and service for future visits.

This place have never let me down. Taste is top notch with great ambiance. After the refurb the place looks amazing and it's massive now as well. Party of 10, no problemo. Party of 25, maybe give them a heads up.

Great new look with the refurbishment, was a nice surprise to see as we have not been for a while. The food as always was amazing! Definitely the best Dosa in the midlands for me and I'd come here over any other place. The service was fast and polite, what more could you ask for. 100% recommended to anyone who wants food that is full of flavour and hits the spot everytime.

I used to enjoy eating here in the past. Now, I feel the prices are very high and the food is extremely spicy. I had the paneer tikka, my mouth was on fire and I honestly felt, I was going to pass out. Food should never be that spicy, where you feel your heart is racing and you feel faint.
