Excellent food, first class service, spotlessly clean cafe, staff go out of their way to make you feel at home, would highly recommend a visit, wish I’d found this place sooner.

This was my first visit here- not particularly welcomed, waited ages to be served and had to ask to order. There were only 2 tables occupied at this point. My sandwich was ok but the latte was very weak. Sadly the floor was filthy, particularly near to the skirting board where dust and dirt was gathered. There was a pile of junk in the corner that was also gathering dirt. My table had been wiped but full of smears as if the cloth was dirty. It’s a shame really as it looked so nice from outside.

Visited Shaw a year after our last trip for the model railways shop and stopped off at Donnelly's for a cup of tea and a very nice scone with cream and jam, then later lunch. Still as good as last year, with a very nice baked potato and soup and sandwich. Staff always very pleasant, just a little slower at lunch time as it was quite busy. They cleaned the tables very well in between. Would definitely recommend.

2nd time had afternoon tea here and both times excellent. Cafe spotlessly clean, staff friendly and the afternoon tea faultless. Food was freshly prepared, beautifully presented, and more than enough.(Anything not eaten put into plastic boxes to take home) . Ideal for a treat.

Stopped off here for a simple lunch after visiting the nearby model railway shop (hubby's birthday treat!). Really nice and clean, extremely friendly staff all wearing masks and cleaning thoroughly between people coming in. Really nice lunch (soup and I had a panini) and very tasty scones and cream for after. Should we be back in the area (railway shop was also excellent!), we will stop off again. Made for a really nice birthday trip out.

Had a lovely breakfast here, everything was cooked to perfection & very tasty. This is not a typical greasy spoon its spotlessly clean & staff are friendly & efficient. Would definitely recommend & visit again. I have also had an afternoon tea delivered in the past & that was amazing too & value for money.

Had to put this review on here. One morning went for breakfast to this place in Shaw and I have Coeliac. The staff are very friendly and great for someone who has to have gluten free. Had the large breakfast. Had on it gluten free sausage which were really tasty and hash browns, also toast., along with everything else Can't always get these in some places. i felt really confident eating all this. Some cafes i would not do. If your Coeliac and your round this area, go here to eat. You would not be disappointed. It's great

My mum and I came here for afternoon tea and it was amazing, everything is all very well set up post Covid lockdown. The sandwiches and cakes were absolutely gorgeous! So fresh and delicious. We really love their China tea set too it's so pretty. We also really enjoyed how well it was all presented, with my sandwiches and cakes in front of me and my mum's in front of her so no turning the stand or reaching across each other to choose what we wanted to eat. Every allergy/intolerance is catered for too, we were asked about any allergies upon booking and I requested no egg as my mum's allergic and we were well catered for. We really liked the chutney, coleslaw and mustard being served on the side so you can choose whether you want it on your sandwich or not and there was a selection of different breads too which we really enjoyed. The service was fantastic, I think we were served by a lady called Jo and she was brilliant, so lovely and chatty but left us to our own devices too. We had a cheeky bottle of prosecco just to make it extra special as a treat. We will definitely come back here, it's so relaxing and informal but you're made to feel special too, just wonderful, thank you so much!

Afternoon tea was spectacular and a special individual afternoon tea is created for children. Excellent value for money. Gluten free also available.

A true traditional cafe/ tea room/ coffee shop. When I'm in Shaw I have a great cup of coffee at Donnelly's they produce a drink the equals the main high street coffee, first class brew and service.

We party of 4 ladies had an amazing Christmas Lunch at Donnelley’s this lunch time, I was the only Coeliac . The proprietor has a relative who is Coeliac so well up on what I could/couldn’t eat and the importance of no cross contamination. The ambiance in the Cafe is lovely, very relaxed, warm and welcoming. The staff were attentive and friendly. Would definitely recommend. They also do a great Afternoon tea.

Precooked as required. Changed 3 to 4 at last minute with no problem. Staff are lovely. Food was delicious and beautifullly presented. Plentiful also. 4 of the 4 couldn’t eat it all. Not rushed. Lovely and clean, although small and tables very close together. Only issue was wasps, had to deal with 7 in total. Will revisit regularly.

Always well attended by locals. It's got a lovely menu of basic toastie, sandwiches, baked spud kind of food, serves breakfast until mid morning. Afternoon tea can also be ordered 24 hrs in advance. The food here is always well presented, freshly prepared and hot when served. There is a good variety of drinks available. The ambiance is always that of a friends get together and have a good chat and let the world continue around you. The waitresses are pleasant and efficient. Great little place to grab some lunch. Not great for wheelchair users due to the limited space and the large step at the front door, however, there is seating outside, if you're happy to eat at the tables on the pavement.

Called in for a quick lunch, every table taken on a Friday lunchtime. Book if you want to go especially Thursday to Saturday, the diners were enjoying their food, meeting friends and conversing, I noticed there was no noisy background music bliss! Eventually after about 15 minutes I sat down and the lady told me I'll start your food, scrambled eggs and toast beautifully presented on Brown bread. Tea can be in a mug or China teapot I opted for the former as I was dining alone. The teabag was left in so I could tweak to my own taste which I appreciated, they also offered Brown or white toast. The coffee shop was clean, nicely decorated and the staff were helpful and pleasant. This was a real-pick me up on a dark, rainy day in Shaw. I will be back hopefully when I meet up with friends. Give this coffee shop\eatery a try you certainly won't regret it.

I like to eat here for the freshness and quality of the food. The coffee is also the best you can get in Shaw without a doubt.

Really nice cafe, had a nice cheese toastie and beautiful waffle really enjoyed it would recommend to anyone wanting a quick lunch

Visited a few times whilst home for Christmas, the food we ate (Scrambled Egg on toast for Fella, Jacket potato for me on 1st visit, Soup of the day on 2nd visit and Full Breakfast for fella and toast for me on last visit) all portions were decently sized and went down a treat.

Tried breakfast and lunch here and both were brilliant Friendly helpful staff Definitely will be going back again

With my wife and a friend for a cream tea. Reserved table, lovely china service. Slight wait because all is freshly made. When it arrived with corner cut sandwiches of ham, cheese and beef, crackers with cream cheese, couscous wraps, scones with butter, jam and clotted cream, two cakes each, chocolates and unlimited coffee or tea. All served by lovely, smart and happy ladies. All this for such a small price. Will most definitely be going back. There is also a full menu all day. DON'T MISS OUT GIVE IT A GO.
