Don Vincenzo in Medway

I have been to this restaurant a few times as their food is good but I won’t be back because their prices are getting more and more ridiculous and you can’t have a nice meal when you feel like you’re getting rushed out the door while you’re still eating with waiters hovering over your last bite to grab your plate. It’s stressful feeling like you need to rush your food.

Wonderful homemade pizza, seeing them being made and spun reminded me of being in Naples with family. My nonna would have loved it. Tiramisu and panna cotta were lovely and freshly made. The staff were friendly and chatty. This has the best Pizza in UK 💜

Frozen calamari, but tasty pizza, deco like if you walk into ikea . Such miserable servers, the food can be amazing but with that attitude I won’t go back.

The food and actual menu are very very average. It seems like this restaurant has lost its zest for excellence or simply just isn't interested. the staff are miserable with attitude. Maybe that's the Italian way.

Spinti dalle molte recensioni positive di ospiti italiani e quindi con palati abituati al buon cibo, abbiamo pranzato in questo ristorante scegliendolo tra i molti presenti a Rochester. Sempre basandoci sul parere di un ospite che ha decantato il branzino al salmoriglio abbiamo optato senza esitazione per questo piatto. Purtroppo quando ci si aspetta qualcosa di speciale si viene spesso delusi e così è stato. Davvero niente di particolare. Anche il personale non ci è sembrato così particolarmente simpatico come lo avevano descritto. Locale abbastanza anonimo. Diciamo tutto senza infamia e senza lode. Ovviamente questo è un parere personale e va preso come tale.

We rang on the off chance of getting a table early Saturday evening and we were in luck. The meals we had were fantastic. We had ravioli with mushrooms in butter and sage sauce (which was the best ever - compliments to the chef), calzone, risotto and a lovely pork dish on the specials menu. The service was fantastic and very friendly and the meals were lovely. We will definitely be coming back.

We used to come here a lot so, when we happened to be local we thought we’d try it again. The best I can say is average. The staff are lovely but the service wasn’t great. The food was disappointing. The Aubergine Parmigiana lacked aubergine as it only had two small slices in the dish. The Italian sausage penne looked like a bolognese but was missing flavour. Sadly we won’t be returning.

Large group of us came here on Friday night for a colleagues leaving party. The restaurant required a deposit of £10 a head which is understandable as we were a table of 14 on a Friday night. Food was really great, portion sizes good and served very quickly, all of our party really enjoyed their meal. Staff were very accommodating! Drinks were consistently topped up and nothing was too much trouble. We did feel a little cramped in the back table - but this may be due to not be able to seat a large party anywhere else. However, only downside is that we all felt really rushed! likely another booking after us - but I think 2 hours for a table of 14 is not long enough! Other than this, we had a great night and will return! 😊

Lively atmosphere, warm, friendly and attentive staff, clean facilities and excellent food. One of our favourite restaurants. More crab in the crab linguine please!

Food as ever is consistently good. Odd choice with them opting to change to a Chardonnay as their house white wine, which really wasn’t a pleasant experience and we left almost half the bottle. Staff are friendly but I wouldn’t say attentive even when it wasn’t very busy. No check to see if everything was ok with our food and trying to catch their attention wasn’t an easy task, but despite the quirks (and the awful house white)) the food is good.

Lovely local restaurant. Always a lovely warm welcome, and delicious food. The rosemary potatoes in particular are fantastic - wish I knew their secret. The only complaint is how noisy and lacking in ambience it is at busy times - perhaps some soft furnishings would help, and maybe some soft lighting /candles for a more romantic evening atmosphere.

Bang average, nothing special, similar to a chain restaurant (Zizi etc). Extremely noisy so you couldn’t hold a conversation at the table easily. Wouldn’t return.

Popped in for a meal with my partner as she had eaten at most of the restaurants on the High Street, and was yet to try the well reviewed, Don Vicenzo. Service & atmosphere was pleasant enough, and can not fault that. However, the food was fairly decent (Not amazing)!! But decent enough. We picked a couple of starters. For the main a pizza, and king prawns with the additon of linguine that I was told they could add... I asked for some rocket for the pizza. And some capers and black olives to add to the plain linguine that was added to my King prawn dish. On recieving the bill, I was charged £3 for the few sprigs of rocket. £4.50 for the small accompaniment of capers and olives. And a £5 supplement for the plain pasta linguine. Just felt, in this age of cost of living , and economic uncertainty for consumer and business alike, is it really fair to pass on such mark ups to the hungry visitor that walks through your door. Especially considering that there was no mention of such additional costs whilst making the order with the waiter. It all seemed a little Greedy, and a little sharky.... what next... 10p per shake of salt. 50p per sprinkling of parmesan. £1 per drizzle of olive oil.... Its not the money that is of issue here. More the matter of principal... My advice. Beware of the hidden charges!!! Would I go back.... Probably not!!. But Good luck to them all the Same!

Fitted us in at short notice due to an unexpected lunch cancellation. After a couple of food errors we had a superb meal, excellent service and the atmosphere was very friendly and festive. We were also offered a drink on the house.

First visit here and it will be my last! Starter was ok but my main Risotto was literally thrown together too much salt and mushrooms that tastes and had texture of tinned. Staff literally were lurking around table at all times and extremely rude. Definitely one to miss.

Took my daughter here for a birthday meal with a friend. We left after 45 minutes, three very basic meals indeed ( I wish I had taken photos- I had three pieces of chicken and some dry potato chips) exactly £100 down. Both adults found the food very bland, nothing you couldn't easily make at home and hideously overpriced. I am astonished to say the least at seeing so many positive reviews on here. Perhaps we were unlucky and I am glad others had a more positive experience. I appreciate rising costs and how difficult it must be to remain financially viable in 2023 but I can't remember ever feeling so angry after leaving a restaurant. I feel cheated out of money.

Birthday celebration - no children's menu despite having facilities for young children, paid £10.50 for an 18 month old child small bowl of plain pasta penne with a slice of very salty chopped bacon, whitebait starter was over cooked, seafood linguine had practically no seafood, no choice of specials given by the staff and left too long to order desserts. £185 for 4 adults and young child (4 starters, 4 mains, 2 desserts and 5 drinks - extortionate! Visited on a family member recommendation - will not be returning!

The wife's 40th birthday meal was here with a group of 15. We all had an amazing night. The staff could not have been more attentive, so friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The food was simply amazing, and our thanks to the chef! The portion sizes are very generous, and prices are very reasonable. I can't thank you all enough for a wonderful night. I'd been meaning to visit this restaurant for many years, and I'm so glad we finally did. It was a night to remember.

Still my favourite italian restaurant in Rochester after 30 years. It's like experiencing authentic food in Italy. Highly recommended.

We visited Rochester on an unusually warm October Sunday afternoon ….it was very busy but they offered us a table outside , the two of had a starter each and a huge portion of mussels and a big pizza , a glass of red and a beer Portion size was plentiful and was very tasty too.
