Popped in for a lunch. Service was lovely from Daniela. Friendly host and gave me a lovely experience. Food was also nice and pleasant. Never tried that type of pasta shape before.

We were so impressed with the three waitresses from Bella Italia Hempstead Valley yesterday (26/09). They made my son's 5th birthday memorable. His words were 'this is the best birthday ever'

We were waited on by Jess at the Hempstead restaurant. She was absolutely fantastic throughout. Our food was cooked to perfection and we all enjoyed everything.

Lovely food and staff are so polite and welcoming and really are hard working, however not enough people scheduled to work. 1 person serving 14 tables. 1 person on drinks and 1 person on desert. Not acceptable to leave 1 member of staff on her own dealing with all these tables orders. Within the hour we had 1 drink and still no starter…

Tia with the blonde hair gave me such a friendly service. The lasagne and coleslaw was so nice.

We are really upset that our anniversary meal was ruined by a really really poor show from both your service staff and kitchen. After being sat down we waited 10 minutes before we had to get up and ask for a drink. Finally once ordered main and a drink we waited 25 more minutes for the food and still had not received a drink. The restaurant was empty so no excuses. The food portion size was small and overcooked. The flat bread was not cut into portions even though we asked it to be as was sharing. Once the main was cleared we sat for 10 minutes before having to call someone over, we then asked for desert, another 15-20 minutes went by and we did not receive, we gave up and asked for the bill, I noticed in the bill that we was being charged for two desserts we did not receive, I asked for it to be taken off and the waiter seemed confused and said didn’t you receive anything ? He then went on to say we have nothing to do with desserts that’s on the kitchen, it’s their fault. During this whole time there was only 4-5 people in the restaurant. The staff were busy talking to each other to actually provide a reasonable service. This is by far the worst service I have ever received and considering our bill I’d expect so much better. Simply aweful experience

Seated and served very quickly by friendly staff. They had explained all of their allergen protocols for my wife who has allergies and was catered for brilliantly. Would definitely be going again and again.

Missing items, and restaurant does not pick up the phone!!!

Ordered through just eat! Didn’t receive two main dishes I have tried calling Bella italia 17 times and no one answers. Very poor customer service, no one answers the phone!! How can a business run like that? Will not be ordering from them again. Be warned if you order you won’t get you main meal and will find yourself eating a cheese sandwich at a friends house while the others eat the meals that did turn up.

Placed an order through Just Eat with 2 main dishes missing. Called the restaurant numerous times with no response, as still wanted the 2 dishes delivered and not a refund through the app. Very poor customer service!

Only wanted a cup of tea and was then going to order dinner , I do enjoy a Bella Italia. It was 6pm so asked if ok to just have a drink first. Was told yes , but had to pay first , which seemed acceptable as sitting outside. After a 40 min wait , and at 30 mins waiting asking the waiter if the tea was arriving soon ,we asked for a refund and left. There appeared to be adequate staff , and we often saw 2 at the tills just having a natter , again no problem with that but not when customers are waiting on their order. Won’t be returning to this Bella Italia and will use other branches with much better service.

We came for lunch with our children on friday and lynnel welcomed us in her service and friendliness to both us and the children was next to none! Thank you for such a lovely experience

Bella Italia Hempstead Valley, SHOCKINGLY BAD, the place was nearly empty this evening when we walked in and tried to get a table, only to be told (in a not to polite manner) that we could only go in to eat if we booked a table via the APP. I said I hadn't but can we just book one now as you are not busy at all (at least a dozen or more empty tables) Only to be told 'you have to use the APP', then the waiter just walked off. The service/greating was laughable. I will never go back. Frankie & Bennys next door got our custom this evening, and they will get it again as we had a fantastic meal with great service, well done F&Bs.

While we were shopping in the Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre we fancied having lunch. We did not want a large lunch but my wife, who is Gluten Free, really fancied the rack of ribs on offer at Bella Italia but that the normal meal would be just too large for her appetite. The friendly, extremely obliging staff arranged it so that we could share one meal. It was well-presented and delicious. I have no doubt that, the next time we are in the shopping centre, we will be returning to Bella Italia.

Terrible service. Forgot to put our food order in. Not busy but still seemed short staffed. What was supposed to be a quick dinner, was almost 2 hrs! Almost walked out as no one around for payment. Said we could use a taste card but when got the bill, couldn't. By that point lost the will to live so couldn't be bothered to argue. Wont be returning

Good food (great pizza and fries!) with nice vegetarian options, a decent set menu and fair range of drinks. Staff were welcoming and very helpful.

Accidentally ordered a non vegetarian meal and offered to pay for it and order something else, but the waitress we had made me feel uncomfortable by trying to convince me the cheese in the meal was vegetarian when I had already googled the ingredients and seen that there was Parmesan and the menu had no VG next to the dish like all the other vegetarian dishes. She took the meal off the bill anyway but then came to ask me in a rude way if I was still okay with Mozzarella or cheese sauce in my vegetarian calzone, which was obvious as I stated I was not vegan just vegetarian and can't have Parmesan because it's not vegetarian. I just dont understand why she had to argue that the cheese on my dish was vegetarian when it clearly wasn't and I was still happy to pay for it as it was my mistake not checking. Put me in a bad mood and couldn't enjoy my food after that.

First time tonight. Liked the food and all that was Bella Italia. Good for a quick bite with the family.

The actual food was delicious absolutely no complaints. The waiter who seated us was absolutely polite and friendly. The manager(young lady) was quite rude,problematic and very loud and confrontational,which unfortunately detracted big time from our overall experience,we wouldn't go back to this particular location literally because of that one person and her poor attitude. Toilets could be cleaner too. The three stars are for the chef and the waiter.

Went tonight for my foster daughter’s birthday. Food was lovely so Wtg to the chefs but we were completely ignored re service. Some of the staff were rude. The tables and floor around us filthy. The plates were left infront of us for 40 minutes at least. No service at all. No offer of more drinks. Tried to get staff attention and was met with excuses and rudeness. The guy identified as the manager said he wasn’t then made an excuse all the staff were new this night. If that’s the case. Manage them!!! Literally threw £140 down the drain and went next door for desert as no one came near the table for nearly an hour!!!! Shocking service!!!! I never usually leave negative reviews but this so called chain really need to train their staff and service skills a lot more. Absolutely shocking place and I just hope nobody experiences a time like we had there.

First time visiting and the restaurant was spotless. The staff where very professional and friendly. There were no mistakes with our order and everything was great.

I ordered some from deliveroo. I really thought it would be good. I ordered some carbonara it was so dry, ordered some sweet potato fries they game me normal fries and kept cold drinks with hot food so by the time food was here my drink was so warm

Went in and it wasn't too busy but we immediately noticed the lack of staff. After a 10 minute wait at the door just to be seated we waited another 10 minutes sat down without being served and got up and left. I don't remember Bella Italia being this bad and didn't expect such bad service on a not very busy Thursday lunch.

Have been before but not for a while. Sadly a terrible meal. We were sat at a dirty table where sunlight meant we couldn't see properly. Drinks we wanted were unavailable, then drinks we ordered were spilled over us and our starters by a waiter who told us this was the worst night of his life. We were moved to another table, which was also dirty and left uncleaned. Starter mushrooms came with rock hard bread. Main course tortellini tasted like OXO cubes. I ordered a Fanta, and the drink I ordered came very diluted and pale. Ice cream desserts were served (eventually) in drink tumblers instead of bowls. A quiet night so no reason for service to be slow, but it was. Manageress applied discount without needing to be asked, but no chance of us going back there. A once-nice restaurant is now no good.

What a hell hole of a restaurant, very bland food, the service was appalling and restaurant very dirty. We usually go to Frankie & Bennys next door but decided to give Bella Italia a try and I really wish I hadn’t it was the worst dining experience I’ve ever endured. Bearing in mind it was a quiet Monday afternoon with hardly any tables occupied it was very quiet but the staff were struggling to deal with any orders from the handful of customers. We choose the set lunchtime menu, the pasta was very dry for a carbonara, my wife had “lasagne” which was all tomato sauce, my daughters “bolognese” was just pasta with a very small amount of sauce, choc brownie was as dry as card with a hair in and the sorbet was just dry ice scrapped from the bottom of the tub! I never usually leave negative reviews but this so called chain really need to train their staff and service skills a lot more. Absolutely shocking place and I just hope nobody experiences a time like we had there.

The wings starter was 50-50 hot. The ribs were tiny and very pink, the bbq chicken pizza was ok. We left with a very poor taste left in our mouths so went next door for drinks and milkshake.

An excellent time spent at Bella Italia. Quite decent food for the asking price but above all top-notch service, full of smiles and kindness and attention. Thank you thank you to the whole team for giving us a great time.

Bella italia Hempstead valley great meal today on arrival greeted by the manager Scott sat at a booth my friend and I ordered drinks food our waitress zara was very attentive the chicken genovese with porcini sauce is so lush my friend had pesto genovese both meals were delicious

A bit weird, clean nice restaurant, not bad value, just a bit weird that you order from an app at the table like it's still lock down. Some may like this but for me if you are eating out I like to be served. Take away from the atmosphere of knowing your waitress.

teeah was amazing ! Really attentive.

We ordered the Marco Polo and although wondered if it would be too sickly with the plum sauce, it was just the right amount. It was delicious so now my new favourite dish. We also had the rack of ribs, again delicious and plenty of meat on them. The cheeseburger was delicious also and the quantity of all the food was just right and hot. Our waitress was excellent and if we needed anything, I just looked in her direction and she would come over. A lovely evening meal all round.

Lol bed our dining experience. Our waitress Tia was very pleasant and also good at her job. Our food came up quickly and was both piping hot and tasty. The restaurant had a good vibe and despite being quite busy it all seemed to be running smoothly.

A really nice dining experience, food piping hot and came up quickly. Very tasty and generous portions too! Staff were a cheerful bunch, our waitress Tia was very pleasant and checked back on us. The restaurant has a nice vibe, music playing, clean too! I noticed that tables were cleared quickly when diners left. I do think that their desserts are overpriced, I just had a couple of scoops of ice cream. Would visit again, definitely sign up to receive offers, you get a free main on your next visit just for doing that.

Really mediocre meal at Bella Italia. I was hoping for something nice, quick and reasonably priced but I doubt I would go back. We had the calzone and the mushroom pasta. The calzone was soggy on top, with the filling unevenly spread inside and a huge clump of nduja which I needed to scrape out as it was overpowering. The pasta was tasteless and the draught Stella tasted off.

Dreadful. Dreadful. Dreadful. Took my girlfriend here back in early December for a nice meal and we both ordered the bottomless drinks. Had some nice food and paid the bill and left but when I looked at my e-receipt after I'd left, I noticed that they'd charged me for bottomless drinks and also for every drink I had! Immediately emailed them to resolve this and was sat waiting weeks for a reply. Was told "oh it's our head office, it's our head office, yeah they'll refund the money it's being processed" and it was only after a month of waiting did I tell them unless they can't sort it then I'll be leaving a poor review. Then I get a rude email from them saying that if I wanted my refund, I'd need to come into the store and get it! Why would I go out of MY WAY to correct a mistake THEY MADE. Wouldn't touch this place with a barge pole, incompetent staff and overpriced grub. Look forward to this company eventually going bankrupt

The pasta dishes and chicken were lovely

Shocking place to eat!! Me, my husband and 2 young children were greeted (if I can call it that) by a male at the front desk who was very abrupt, miserable and clearly does not enjoy his job or was having a bad day! He grabbed the menus, walked off without saying anything so we just followed like lost little sheep to our table. Our waitress was much chirpier thank goodness! Orders taken quickly, drinks and main meal arrived quickly so can't fault that. Portion sizes however were so small! My Carbonara wasn't much more than my child's pasta meal. Considering it cost nearly £15 I was shocked at the lack of food, it did taste good but I left hungry which is something you don't want/expect when paying for a meal out. The restaurant wasn't busy, 4 members of staff were serving who spent most of their time nattering amongst themselves or to people on tables they clearly knew. We waited 25 mins after finishing our main meal then had to ask for the kids ice creams which were part of their set meal. We decided against dessert for us as the staff just weren't attentive enough and by this point I was getting fed up with the lack of service so I didn't want to spend another penny in there. We then had to go up to pay for the bill as again were sat there waiting whilst the staff chatted to each other. Very disappointed, won't be going back here and this place need to look at getting some decent staff who actually have some people skills!
