Dolphin Inn in Thanet

didn't have a meal at the dolphin went for the karaoke eve last thursday, well what can i say after the negative reviews this pub gets. we are a couple 79 plus who love a bit of karaoke, the bar staff, the young lady running this and all the young people in there made us very feel welcome, they were polite and friendly and personally i didn't hear any bad language. we had a very enjoyable evening so well done kids some great voices too, thanks

The dolphin used to be a place you could go knowing you would bump into familiar faces whether you were by yourself or as a group. Unfortunately with the new door charge and increase in prices it has moved away from this and is only attracting naive 18 year olds who haven’t been before and are willing to pay to get in. This has ruined the ethos and culture the dolphin once had; turning it into a cash cow with no soul. I honestly hope this is reversed before it is too late and becomes completely soulless. On the flip when it isn’t busy enough to be ripped at the door the bar staff are lovely and always serve you with a smile on their faces. Overall, the recent changes with unsuccessful results such as a VIP area which is now just a seating area, no entry after 12 which has now been axed and the garden that is now an adventure to get to shows that the dolphin is currently on a rollercoaster ride to find itself and I really hope it doesn’t loose its foundations in the first place. If it wasn’t for the bar staff I think the review rating would be a lot worse. I really hope this gets fixed going forward and the dolphin starts to live back up to its reputation before it is too late!!!

Really great pub good atmosphere fair prices we use it all the time when we are down in Broadstairs when we move hear it will be our local

This is a pub in a prime location and has some lovely architecture, but the rowdy clientele can make it intimidating. Go at lunchtime but not in the evening.

polite bar staff and landlord and land lady, have events on every night of the week such as a pub quiz, karaoke, reasonably priced, wonderful welcoming atmosphere for people of all ages, Sky and bt sport shown at this venue, definitely worth a visit 10/10

Broadstairs is a lovely and quaint town, shame about the sort of staff running this place. The security staff appear to have lack of any sort of resolution training. On several occasions they will deal with any situation fists firsts and dont bother asking questions later , unless they know either party and then they will just turn a blind eye. The bar staff have always been friendly and professional but management will deny all knowledge and ignore any complaints about assaults from security staff. The police have said this is a common complaint from visitors. The security need retraining or even replacing. Management have a duty to ensure they safety of their customers, especially from their own contractors and not just ignore such concerns . I am local and have seen certain door staff deal with potentially volatile situations very well and calming the problem. However one or two security staff with bully boy tactics and clear anger/power issues and that appear to enjoy using their physical strength on men/women are clearly working in the wrong environment. Until there is a change in the ethos of the company would tell everyone to avoid.

Great night out . Beans bald head was glowing like a diamond. Great company and top notch staff. Convenient pool table.

Good beer. Outside area could do with an up grade.staff were lovely. Always happy to see our patterdale dog if not us. Just joking thankyou

We add two wonderful evenings at The Dolphin, done up like an old time tavern it’s very cosy and welcoming, the best bit is the Happy Hour, which in this case is the Happy Two Hours, pint of Guinness £2,glass of wine £1:50,got to have it,be mad not to😁

great atmosphere, very busy and cheap booze! what more do you want from a pub on a night out, always busy so arrive early not to que outside

The Dolphin inn or "The Dolph" as it's known provides one of the staples upon your visit to Thanet. The atmosphere is unrivalled and is always a guaranteed great night out.

Ive had about five or six meals here over the last three years at folk week and always left feeling that something was missing. Food is pretty average nothing spectacular. OK for large groups of 6 or more which is why we go there.

It was half term and everything was jammed packed on the sea front. We found this pub, which didn't look very promising but my hamburger and chips were delicious. Home made and fresh. I can't remember what my companion had but there were no complaints and everything was eaten.

Popped in here during a day out in Broadstairs, having a dog we had previously looked on here for a pub that allows dogs & served food. Well we found both, this pub is great, located just back from the beach. We walked in & as soon as we had ordered drinks they were offering a dog bowl & treats for the dog. we decided to both have a burger with chips, which was homemade & tasted great. When the food was brought out more treats for the dog arrived. A great friendly place for dog owners!!

Whether your just passing through or fancy a quick beer, pop in. Check to see how busy it is first though - it can get packed. You may be surprised to hear that the food is also quite acceptable.

Das ganze Jahr haben wir gewartet... nun sind wir endlich wieder im dolphin Inn a lovely pub in the town of broadstairs. It is our tradition to finish the evening with the first pint. It is a good quality pub and we love it...

Lively pub with Karaoke which isn't normally my thing, but was a great laugh. Very friendly locals added to a really fun evening

went after seeing summer fireworks and I think everybody had the same idea ! There was a band on but not very good - too "folky" for us. Staff great even though they were busy. Average prices

Great if you want a fight. Always trouble often overspilling into the street. One friend driving past had one of the many fights end up in front of her car causing an accident with the car behind. Full of thugs and tarts but if your that ilk would be a great place to get pissed .

Been in here a couple of times, staff are very pleasant and very helpful. There was no we're to park our car were we are so a member of staff offered us a place were she lives. Thought that was very nice of here to do that. Thanks very much. (Sorry not sure of your name) There are two bars plus a pool table and plenty of tv's. Food seemed good too. All in all very enjoyable. Cheryl.

I lived in Broadstairs to study English there and Dolphin was the best place that I could find my friends from the school to have fun together.

Best pub in town, friendly, good food & staff, accommodates anyone's needs, dogs welcome, caters for parties, well priced drinks with offers, well done!!!

came here through folk week and was in here most lunch times staff where welcoming and friendly and treated me like I was a regular food was brilliant homemade burger was lovely and there steak baguettes were lovely to great value for money. I was always asked if I needed anything or if everything was ok would recommend this pub to anyone will be visiting here again 5 stars and would give more if I could!

Visit this pub daily late afternoon and early evening. and cannot say anything negative about it. Staff are friendly and helpful and very welcoming.

Usually wouldn't bother writing a review like this but damn. Ordered a cheese and red onion chutney baguette and chips for £5.50, and it was literally just some french bread with chutney and cheese in it, not cooked, just a sandwich i could make for about a quid. I wasn't served my chips and had to go up and ask for them again. The lady didn't even know it was supposed to come with chips and had to actually look at a menu to realise, i got no apology. When they finally did come again no apology, they tasted like crap and they didnt ask me if i wanted sauce or anything, so again i had to go up. The air conditioner was dripping water onto my table as i ate and it was generally a god awful pub experience. The decor was generally nice but for the love of god don't eat here... £5.50 for the worst meal ever

Definitely worth a good value visit, we went for a carvery and it was very good value. Good selection of beers, great young friendly staff.

Very nice pub, friendly staff and very good prices. There is music and a pool table as well. Went in here two nights running!
