Dolphin Fishbar in Wiltshire

This is my local, although I don't do any take-outs often. I always have fish and chips, sometimes mushy pes, sometimes just fish without batter, (ordered at least 15 minutes before.) The staff are always very friendly and accommodating. If having chips I always have to say 'not so many, please!' sometimes I say 'can you give them another minute, please?' Very generous. Always lovely fish. I can't speak for anything else as I only go there for the fish, but always hot and freshly cooked and everyone is welcomed. so nice to have this in our town" Gwyneth

The burgers were delicious but the chips were stone cold. We won’t be going there again. Learn how to serve fresh hot chips.

We have just had the unfortunate experience of getting a takeaway from here. My cheese & onion pie was obviously microwaved and was like eating a lump of cardboard (although cardboard would certainly have more flavour), the chips were lukewarm, soggy and probably reheated from lunchtime. The fish was just okay. To be honest, most of it ended up in the bin. We certainly won’t be back.

Our favourite fish and chip shop for miles. Always freshly cooked and a good varied choice too, run by the friendliest of hosts. Very glad they’ve remained open during these unusual times. Premises are very clean and safe.

We always ask for our cod to be lightly battered. The portions are good and food cooked well. Staff are always friendly.

You buy a portion of chips and struggle to manage. Buy one for two persons and there's still enough.

The chips were reheated and extremely hard There were 2 dead flies in my chips also everything drenched in fat ! Will not be returning 0 star if possible

From the friendliness of the staff to the quality of the food, we’ve always found this local chip shop perfect. Huge portions too, don’t buy a bag of chips per person! My go to place for my kebab fix too.

The chips were cooked well and tasted great however there was very few of them. The curry sauce was nice and the flavour was lovely. Very good food but very small portions. The other one by the same name in the town centre is far better for a decent size portion. Not great value for the money. Probably would go there again,

The best fish n chip shop that I know. They offer a good range of traditional food and a great choice of kebabs. The place is always spotless and value excellent. The shop is run by a friendly team and it’s always nice when they recognise you as a regular. A 1st class establishment!

We ordered three large cods and chips and were told that the fish would be cooked fresh for us provided we waited 20 minutes. It was well worth the wait. The cod was delicious and flaky and the batter excellent. The huge portions of chips and the mushy peas made the takeaway a really great value for money meal. Highly recommended.

Also had a very nice mushy pea fritter which was very nice - good batter. Chips were soft and stuck to the paper, a great sign of good old fashioned chips! I don’t want healthy grease free chips! I want chippy chips. Gravy was really nice too. Nice and thick! Staff were chatty and seemed to know all the locals - another good sign. Would return! Happily!

Chippy tea is a firm favourite in our house, and it is always fab from Dolphin fish bar... I can highly recommend the cheesy chips... With gravy yummy! Speedy friendly service and they now take card payments, always a bonus!

We have been using this chip shop for a while now but recently its standards have dropped. Three times now we have been served with hard, dry chips. We will now avoid this place from now on.

Really greasy and fish was way over cooked. Staff seemed to think they were doing me a favour. Batter Sausage has obviously been sitting for quite a while - Real shame

Easy to access and prices are about right, don't be fooled by the accents they know how to cook as can be judged by the steady stream of locals streaming through the door day and night

Very average food, long wait but food did arrive hot. Was a bit tasteless but you get a lot for your money. Staff are friendly

No me había visitado el Dolphin Fishbar dentro de un año, ya que está al otro lado de la ciudad para mí, pero mi hijo quería una hamburguesa y patatas fritas. Tuve que esperar 20 minutos para la hamburguesa para ser cocinados, que es totalmente inaceptable, me quejé y el hombre que estaba cocinando me dijo que si no me gusta que no nos molestamos en volver! Lo que puedo asegurarle que no voy y le dije que me lo dirá otras personas no ir allí, sólo si quieres que esperar 20 minutos para una hamburguesa para ser cocinados. La única razón por la que le doy una estrella fue gestionada por la señorita que efectivamente se disculpó por la espera. Así que quizás debería tomar lecciones de ella sobre educación y no decir a sus clientes no volver si no estás contento.
