service was really good but the food unfortunately was lacking and the prices were high for the quality of it. in a great location however

Food was very good but oh dear the service! The meals didn't arrive together. After our meal the plates were taken and we were then left for 20 minutes without anyone asking whether we wanted anything else. I asked for a dessert menu but after another ten minutes we just paid the bill and left. To be entirely fair the girl was on her own after the other waitress (our server) had left. Shame really as were celebrating a birthday and would have spent a lot more. Food deserves better than that level of service.

Food bland , boiled chicken over cooked and grey do not order pollo alla creme, pasta seemed the ready meal variety lacking in sauce and taste. Just go elsewhere is my advice. Had to ask to be served with a drink after been seated and left when the place wasn't busy. Bought a bottle of fizz no offer of a ice bucket. The I presume owner or manager carried out two large black sacks of waste right past our table as we were eating and it's a small space anyway we were gobsmacked. Chef looked scruffy came and sat on the table behind us on his phone and with his feet up. Profitability clearly above everything else its no lie to say you will get a better tasting meal and better service at a wetherpsoons. Such a shame we booked on a weekend away and it was a massive failure all 4 of us dismayed. And don't go to the toilets they are disgusting.

Good choice and very reasonable prices. Tasty value meal and great house wine. Dessert was yummy! Only 1 person serving, cooking and cleaning up on arrival so was impressed!

I used to go to this Italian for many years ago when the old owners were there and it was good then.. just called in there this lunchtime for a spot of nostalgic lunch….. Wow what an absolutely filthy dive it has turned in to.. I ordered a cup of tea and some food but when the chap brought out the milk for the tea the inside of the milk jug was thick with mould. The cleanliness in here is worrying considering they’re displaying a 5 hygiene rating!!! My suggestion to the owner is you obviously don’t give a monkeys about this place or your customers… move over and let someone who gives a xxxk run the place.

Absolutely no way I would return. Food was tasteless and overpriced and staff were rude and ignore you! Toilets were full of mould so I hate to think what the kitchen looks like. Please spend your money elsewhere, a lot more worthwhile restaurants in Nottingham.

Enjoyed a beautiful 3 course dinner on 15th December after our son's graduation. Food was beautiful all home cooked. Lovely quaint setting. Would definitely recommend.

First time thought it was expensive for just having lasagna.i thought they would have given you either garlic bread or small salad.i have been to a restaurant near me and they give you both for the same price

Ordered wine, had to ask 3 times for another glass. Ordered the main and mine came which was tortellini veggie meal, it came with random what looked like meat inside them(nothing on the menu) had to swap the dish. Had to ask for cutlery twice. The waitness said she didnt know what was inside the tortellini but kept staring and standing there. When the bill came was charged for the meal i didnt eat and had to argue to get her to put the correct price down (really should have been free or 50% off) and if that wasnt enough she tried auto adding 10% to our bill for "service"

We booked a table on Saturday 2nd, as did many others! Donny Osmond was playing at the Arena. Can't fault the efficiency of the staff, they were fabulous without being intrusive. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the Salmon Tagliatelle; it was served hot and the perfect portion. My husband had the Steak, cooked perfectly. 5 star service, food and atmosphere.

Not worth it at all Food was average, service is terribly slow and service charge is included in the bill. Had to ask 4 times for tap water Soft drinks are from a 2L bottle, no fizz whatsoever Food is very average and portion on the small side Definitely nothing Italian about it. I do not recommend

Food: 26 Great British Pounds, for an Asda smart price microwave meal, even the pizza (which is the worst I've ever had the misfortune of coming into contact with, and I've had a few pizzas in my time) and a flat glass of coke from a two litre bottle, seriously this was horrendous! Service: One man was running the entire establishment in the style of a chucklevision episode Atmosphere: The best of Elton John played intermittently throughout the meal, other than this it was a deathly silence as Barry Chuckle drifted around somewhat performing his duties The decor consists of frozen cash and carry chips dotted around, stale parmesan left lying carelessly around. Do not be fooled by the suave Italian name 'Dolce', there is nothing remotely sweet about this dungeon.

We stopped by for a quick evening dinner before a gig. The pasta bowls were the perfect size - the chicken avocado dish could have had a little more flavour to it though, hence 4stars instead of 5. Lovely calm atmosphere, cute interior. Friendly service.

The manager was cold and displayed no decorum, I witnessed him shouting at staff and the overall work environment seemed very stressful. The food was overpriced and not to taste, my friend vomited after this experience. I really am disappointed, I can quite confidently say I will not be returning here again.

i just discovered this hidden gem yesterday. it’s probably the best italian restaurant if you’re vegetarian as there are many alternatives. the staff are absolutely lovely, especially millie! (i think that was her name) i can tell that this place will be my new favourite spot 🍝❣️thank u for the amazing food & even better service!!

I ate here this summer and it was an incredible experience. The staff were amazing with customer service, quickly delivering food and ensuring the customers were well kept. I was happy with food, service and atmosphere but the ongoing downfall was their presentation with an antipasti starter which came out really very poorly and disappointingly. I definitely think a bit of work needs to be done to ensure this comes out well presented as starters are what wets the appetite for customers.

Popped into Dolce for some lunch. The staff member on duty was friendly, food came out promptly and tasted delicious. The garlic bread was a little greasy but nevertheless, still tasted nice. Only down fall is the restaurant seemed abit out dated. The back half was dark and the front half only had light coming in through the front windows. I would definitely visit Dolce again when in the area.

I like the food but even better is the atmosphere , nice feeling and lovely calm staff. i had pasta and dessert, im mostly interested in having a nice time i dont mind if the drinks arent that fancy

Amazing authentic spagetti pasta, garlic bread and Tiramasu was another level. Atmosphere was really friendly and cosy. Highly recomend will definatly be back soon.

What a lovely meal for lunch. Can't go wrong for a pasta of your choice and a glass of wine for £10.95. Absolute bargain, the owner is absolutely lovely and the food was amazing.

We stopped for a drink in the sun to soak up some of the atmosphere of a gay pride event. Beer was only served in bottles. Toilets were clean and staff were friendly.

Bread stale - Carbonara tasteless and liqueur coffee like dishwater - would never go again - not even asked at any point if all was ok with the food - come on guys you are supposed to be a city centre restaurant!

We come here on a regular basis just for the food - decor and atmosphere could be improved!!! This time I was disappointed with the food! Starter and main was smaller portion than usual. Me & my wife both ordered tagillette but received spaghetti which was replaced. Our mains should have come with bacon & mushrooms but no bacon & mushrooms in sight! Staff didn't bothered it was the wrong order! Probably won't rush back, wish we spend our hard earned money elsewhere!

Quite understated from the outside, but actually a little gem of a place.

First time visit will definitely be back. The food was amazing especially the cheese garlic bread. Best Italian we have had for a long time. Waitress checked everything was OK.

It's my first visit to an italian restaurant in Nottingham and the food was simply awesome. Had "garlic bread with cheese", " Pollo con Penne ", "gamberetti con pasta " and " "Homemade tiramisu". This is the best tiramisuni had. It's a must recommend place for italian food in Nottingham.

Tried the seafood pasta last time which was good, but this time’s carbonara was a disappointment. Used cream which is not authentic

Pretty disappointing experience here. The place looks very inviting from outside and the menu seems to offer up a nice variety of Italian cuisine. However as soon as I was sat down, it started to go a bit downhill from expectations. The menu I was handed was sticky and the cutlery I was given still had the previous meal on them. The olives, bread an oil disappointed as the bread was not crusty or fresh and the olives were plenty but tiny. The main course (Pollo Ripieno - chicken breast stuffed with ricotta and spinach) was not great either although they did swap out the accompanying chips with tagliatelle. Unfortunately the tagliatelle was over cooked, the chicken and filling was as dry as a bone and overall the dish was just bland. I believe this place could be better, but I don’t think it will be one I’ll look to revisit anytime soon.

Myself and a friend visited and had the mains and drink combo. Absolutely gorgeous food with friendly service and great drinks, we would definitely return!

Decent sized place. The vege penne pasta (asked for mine extra spicy not sure if they did but I cleared the lot, was absolutely starving) a friend had a pizza the other meatballs. Good wine !!!! Not sure about the cheese Garlic bread could have been a bit more cheese as can see in the picture:( but and have the garlic reach the edge's but it was still tasty. Really delicious wine. As others have said staff couldn't care very much. But it was cosy and I liked the decor, people have said old and tacky I'd say traditional :)

This restaurant was very accommodating after we couldn't get a table at our initial restaurant. The food could have used slightly more seasoning.

Immediate reaction on walking in is that I wanted to walk out.. the whole place stunk of fried fat.. probably chips. Why serve chips in an Italian? The restaurant is tired, no atmosphere. However the food we had was quite good & tasty. Just please bin the fat fryer!!

This please Dolce by the name it means that it has Italian kitchen ,but not at all .The food was to far from Italian food .The place was cold and the radiators were off.The beer wasn’t in the fridge .The toilet were dirty and it was a bad smell everywhere.The chef wasn’t Italian and dhe food wasn’t freshly made !I do not recommend it at all!

Would NOT recommend. Presents its self as a traditional Italian restaurant but this is not the case what so ever. There is nothing Italian about this restaurant or any of its staff or food. Decor inside is horrible and tacky and it felt dirty and dusty. As soon as we sat down we knew we had made a mistake but ordered anyway from a waitress who could clearly not care less - don’t think this is any fault of hers as it seems the management don’t care either. When I asked if the rice dish on the menu was a risotto or not she went to ask the kitchen (because she didn’t know what a risotto was) and was speaking to the chef for a while just to come back and still not give me a clear answer. I’m not entirely sure if the chef knew what a risotto was either. So I went for the spaghetti and meatballs instead which was horrible and definitely not fresh - 100% frozen. As was my boyfriend’s margarita pizza which seemed to be Tesco frozen. Not a fresh herb in sight, and the platter of meat, salad and olives I ordered to start was straight out of a packet and jar and not of remotely high quality. The olives tasted of anti-septic. Although we were embarrassed to say anything, it was clear we had not enjoyed the meal at all. We didn’t receive a checkback nor were we asked how our food was when our table was cleared. It seemed the waitress was scared to ask us if we enjoyed it, and god knows what would have happened if we had complained as there was no evidence of management what so ever just the one girl working who looked very young and the one chef who was busy chatting up a table of young girls. Do not go here, you will be disappointed. They should be embarrassed to charge people for the quality of food and service they provide

Unfortunately, I agree with the previous reviews, my friends and I have been going here for the last 10 years and loved it. Over the years I have noticed it needs a good clean and decorating but now the prices are going up and service charge put on the bill, it definitely needs a deep clean and decorating. It wouldn’t take long, close for a couple of days and get stuck in. I’ll only return when I know this has been done.

Really good food and a nice environment.

We have been visiting Dolce for years, usually after seeing a film at Broadway across the road - it's always had a lovely atmosphere. We're usually lucky to get a seat in or near the window but this time we were further back, and what a disappointment! Someone previously commented that it needs a lick of paint, but it looks like a deep clean would be in order first; it was dirty, embedded, not recent spills or crumbs. Dirty floor, grimy skirting, and a filthy radiator next to my husband's seat. It may have been the first time I looked around and noticed, but it put me off eating there and we left before ordering. I felt so sad tbh. We won't be going again, sadly.

my family and i visited this place which we've always been interested in and i must say it does not disappoint ! ^^ though its not too vibey, the food was good and fresh!! i rarely eat pasta but i love the ones here, the fries are delicious too hehe portion sizes are definitely suitable for the price imo ! i couldnt even finish my plate haha

Table booked 730, starters 815, mains 9, got 2 orders wrong and one of us didn't get food until nearly 10mins after the 1st was brought out, owner took no responsibility at all for the delay nor did he acknowledge one, a very ignorant individual that can do no wrong in his eyes. Shambles, unacceptable. Eventually agreed to take £50 from the bill. Needless to say their are 9 people that will never be returning but to be fair unless he changes his pig ignorrant attitude they won't be in business too much longer anyway in this current climate.

Quite possibly the worst Italian I’ve ever had. My husband had the carbonara I had tortellini the carbonara was so obviously a Tesco ready meal and mine was also a microwave meal had bread and olives to start cheap horrible olives and most definitely not Italian bread and the cheapest balsamic vinegar. Absolutely diabolical how they have the nerve to serve microwave ready meals I have no idea! Whoever has said this is a decent Italian have no idea what a decent Italian restaurant is. We left it it no one asked how it was we just paid bill couldn’t wait to get out. Saw what was supposed to be the chef who looks extremely unkempt to say the least and all we heard him do was constantly sneeze in kitchen. All in all I would advise don’t bother we should have known really when on pay day weekend everywhere else was rammed this place was empty we now know why. Suffice to say we won’t return .

1 hour waiting for the food, no apologise, no explanation, bad service in general, and the food wasn't good, I got spaghetti carbonara and the pasta wasn't enought cooked. Just don't enter, there's plenty of better places on nottingham.

Terrible. Nothing was fresh or home made. The pizza and the pasta were store brought and it was obvious.

We have visited here a couple of times in the last month. Food was lovely both times. The first time visiting we had the pasta and small wine offer before 6pm - it worked out cheaper doing it this way than ordering just the pasta on its own! The 2nd visit was as a family - food just as nice and we even treated ourselves to pudding! Friendly and attentive staff. Decor could do with a lick of paint - but the food certainly makes up for it!

Don’t go here. Service was abysmal, took ages to be served in the first place but the wait for food was never ending. When it did come the meals were absolutely tasteless and small - off the chefs special menu too so you’d expect it would be better. The wine tasted like pool water (charged £18 for a bottle that was £4 online) and again when we got the bill the server didn’t say a word. No one came spoke to us during to ask if everything was okay or if we wanted more drinks. Also the toilets were covered in mould and damp, really gross. Should have walked out without paying. Don’t waste your time and money, go somewhere else. Would give 0 if it was possible.

What a find! Stumbled across this lovely Italian restaurant on the way to the Motorpoint arena. Great selection on the menu with good prices. The food was excellent, very tasty, and will definitely return when back in Nottingham.

Dolce is not how I would describe our experience of this restaurant. More like tremendo. We booked for 7.30 arrived at about 7.20 and the people waiting in front of us who hadn’t booked got given the next available table at 7.30 and we had to wait until 7.40. Then we had to wait easily 20 minutes before our order was taken. We were brought a bottle of wine almost instantly but had to wait until 8.40 to get our starters. Then as soon as we had finished our starters our mains came. Then we waited at least another 20 minutes to be offered the dessert menu. When we the ordered our dessert we were told some options had finished. So we both ordered panne cotta as a 2nd choice and he turned up with one dessert and 2 spoons laughing saying oh it’s the last one! Then to top off the evening something fell off the wall hitting my girlfriend on the head and shoulder and the waiter was totally disinterested that this had happened. I was seriously tempted just to get up and walk out without paying. I wouldn’t recommend this joke of a restaurant to anyone at all. I have given one star because Google won’t let me post this with zero stars.

Quite possibly the worst meal I think I’ve ever had. Ordered cheesy garlic bread and was presented with a frozen pizza base with the tomato having been half heartedly washed off an oven pizza. Tasted absolutely awful. Then the carbonara was flavourless, overcooked and just genuinely horrific. I honestly have never had a worse meal, and feel even worse for the girl serving us having to carry out the worst food I’ve ever tasted! Whatever you do, realise the fact there is no one there, and warn anyone walk-in in not to dine in there. Heed my warning, it’s for your own good. Awful awful restaurant, the chef even sat down next to us and watched TikTok’s in between checks!

Reason for 0 stars, only put 1 because I cant go lower without posting: 1) Fruit fly on our table, cant imagine the kitchen. 2) EMPTY we should’ve known that is a red flag in any restaurant 3) No music other than the “Chef” watching TikTok’s in the background eating his frozen pizza, upon further inspection - allegedly - “the owner has banned background music” 4) RIP OFF PRICES, £10.95 for frozen pizza and canned mushroom topping better off 5) Can’t cook a basic white sauce pasta could taste an acidic taste in my white sauce pasta, possibly undercooked wine mixed with cream which made it taste like YOGHURT TAGLIATELLE , 6 1/2 cm prawns, & absolutely no garlic as stated, no salt, no pepper, nothing :) better off going to ANYYYYYWHERE else. Cream tasted expired to be VERY HONEST. I only ate it out of embarrassment, hunger, recession & I’m a student. 6) Chef was a joke, put a salmon pasta ready made dish in the microwave for a man that came in after us WHILST SAT WATCHING TIKTOKS FULL VOLUME NO MUSIC. I only know that it was salmon because it was so quiet I could hear the man ordering. 7) £2.95 for what seems like left over coke from peoples drinks from a bucket. I didn’t even hear the waitress pour them and I could hear my heartbeat cause of how quiet it was. 8) I didn’t go to the toilets but have read that if someone walked in there before food they would’ve walked straight back out 9) Fake advertisement signs stating £10.95 for any pasta & soft drink saying it ends at 6pm not stated anywhere. 10) Everything is microwaved. 11) An offence to humanity doing all this & paying people to give 5 star reviews. NEEDS TO CLOSE DOWN, SURPRISED IT HASNT? Open for 9 years let’s not make it 10. It was so bad to a point that I will personally find the time to ask for an inspection from the council, this is truly a waste of space. Worried about food poisoning. Absolutely appalling worst Italian I ever been to . Took well over an hour for the pizzas to come out and when they did they were terrible, I've had better from Aldi . They weren't home made they were out of the freezer. They even had to give us a steak knife to cut into the pizzas . They should be ashamed to call themselves an Italian.The place looks authentic but the food definitely wasn't .

Absolutely appalling,people who have posted 5 star reviews on here wouldn’t know good Italian food if it hit them in the face,and this is no where near good Italian food. Frozen pizza’s served taking over 1 hour took cook. Staff very unfriendly and no apology for the state of the food delivered to the table. Do not waste your money going here it’s terrible.

Service was prompt but the waiter was glum and not friendly. 3 of us ate, the lasagne was the only decent meal. I had mushroom stroganoff which was £12.95 and really disappointing. Tiramisu was weird, some strange artificial cream on top. I will never eat here again.

Popped in whilst passing by, like the £9.95 daytime pasta and a glass of wine deal. We had the most delicious creamy tomato soup we have ever tasted for starters, and the pasta for main was incredible. Cute lovely atmosphere, definitely will be revisiting

One of my favourite spots in town to head over to when with friends or family and wanting a cheap but good quality proper meal. Always had very friendly servers and quick service, along with a lovely atmosphere and tasty tasty food.

The spaghetti marinara was poor. And that’s being generous.mExtremely dry and tasteless morsels of prawn, calamari and mussels. I counted 2 bits of calamari, mussels that were probably illegal to harvest and a few minute prawns. The tomato sauce was dry and had no taste....

First place we stopped to eat after a long trip from Canada to Nottingham. staff: friendly waitress. Worked hard as she was the only waitress for a the first bit of our stay. service: when we got there it was not busy - we got a table right away and they even were gracious to move us inside when it got chill outside. establishment: a few outdoor open tables. Inside is small and cozy - maybe only about a dozen tables or so. Bathrooms - European Oy small - but unkempt. Sink and toilet with stains - not enough paper towels. To be fair - we have noticed this at various establishments we have been to - maybe it’s a Nottingham thing to not have clean bathrooms for customers. we are used to Canada clean standards as comparison. food: pizza & pasta had great size/portion. The food itself was a little bit bland. The tomato & onion salad was a good portion and the vinaigrette dressing was very good. We asked for a to-go box for some pasta - we got a plastic used (hopefully clean) butter container wrapped in tinfoil. Is taking home leftovers not a thing in Nottingham?

We came as a big party of 10. The staff accommodated for us all and were very friendly, making sure we all had drinks etc. Very cute little Italian restaurant, and not too high prices !

Didn't eat but had great desserts after the movies, fudge cake and profiteroles.

One of our favorite places for a meal out. Delicious food, good portions, and lovely service. The tiramisu is to die for!
