Visited late at night on the way home from town. Really nice friendly place, seems more for locals but well layed out and plenty of seating. Looks like it has been recently upgraded

Walked into this pub to find a toddler running around / behind the bar and a dog causing chaos and making us jump over his lead. From what I could make out, the toddler belonged to the barmaid and the dog to her partner. It was a very weird and unpleasant atmosphere - surely toddlers shouldn’t be behind the bar? This was followed up by a horrible incident whereby the poor little girl was running after her mum who went to clear tables outside, but as the door was opened she was met by the dog who acted aggressively and caused her to cry uncontrollably. As a father myself I felt very uncomfortable and shaken by the whole experience and left after one pint. If the licensee reads this and has concerns do get in touch as I have photographic evidence.

We had the best time at the dog and truck in Stepney. We got given a private space to watch the rugby and the pub was so nicely decorated. They had a wonderful menu of pizzas which worked well for everyone in the group (even the vegans and veggies). The Guinness was poured well and they had a great selection of gins. For the rugby they even had a tv in the garden so for anyone who needs to step outside during the game they were able to watch it the whole way through. They had a wonderful selection of craft beers on tap and the staff were really friendly. The deposit was low compared to a lot of london pubs so would recommend! The staff are very accommodating and we had a wonderful time here!

Cosy pub in Aldgate/Stepney, the pub has old wooden flooring. Nice deco. They are really dog friendly, with a wall full of visiting dogs and a barred cat, which made me chuckle. The cat actually looks like a bully. They serve pizzas, with a deal of having a pint/drink to wash it down. I had mighty meat, beef chucks, chicken, bacon and pepperoni. The pizza was filling. The staff are wonderful here - engaging in conversation with myself and other customers The pub shows a lot of sports, boxing, football, rugby and others. With a lovely display for the upcoming Six Nations. I thoroughly enjoyed this place. Top recommendations.

I visited The Dog and Truck at around 1pm on 24th of June, Got a pint of cider for £5.60, 2 members of staff on Duty were loudly talking about Love Island during my entire visit hence I didn't stay longer, also there was no soap in the bathroom.

I had a great time in the dog and truck today. I stopped in just to take the weight off my legs and refresh with a soft drink and I was met with a great welcome from Everton and Katie. As the pub was empty they both chatted with me and made me feel as ease and relaxed and I left with a very big smile on my face.

Been to this place multiple times because it’s great! Staff are always really helpful and friendly, the interior is comfortable and stylish. There is also a nice beer garden for the sunny days. Drinks are well priced for the area, haven’t tried the food yet, probably will in future as the pie menu looks tasty.

🚇 Island Gardens 🍺 £5.30 Heineken The Ferry House is located close to the banks of the Thames at the southern edge of the Isle of Dogs in East London. The nearest station is Island Gardens on the DLR. The Ferry House was established 1722 and is the oldest surviving pub on the Island. The pub’s location near to the old ferry point across to Greenwich meant it was ideally placed to cater for travellers crossing the river. This is a compact one bar pub with cosy rooms either side of the main bar. The servery is centrally located and has Courage lettering at the top of the back bar. Just off the main bar to the right is a snug room with sofas, a period fireplace and a Tv. At the back left of the pub is another cosy room with a Fives dartboard, a flat screen and a fish tank. The decor consists of white T&G wall panels, burnt orange wall paper and a boarded floor. The room at the back is carpeted and has dark wood panelling and beams. At the rear of the pub is a sunken walled beer garden. The beer line up was a selection of familiar mainstream beers and included one cask ale. I decided on a Heineken, my pint was great, price point was reasonable at just over a fiver. There is no food served here at present. We arrived around 4.30pm on an overcast Saturday afternoon in October. The pub was fairly busy with locals sat around the bar. The atmosphere was chilled and laidback with a local pub feel. The service was good, the chap who served us was pleasant and courteous. Visiting @theferryhousepub was an enjoyable experience, I loved the history that surrounds this pub. The reasonably priced beer, comfortable surroundings and a laidback local pub feel made for a relaxing stay at this watering hole. 📅 12th October 2024 More London Pub info @londonpubmap 🍻
