It's my local for a great night of darts on a Thursday 👌

Like most pubs nowadays, no interaction, just pour your beer ,take your money ,with the tight squeeze on people's finances, customer places really need to be doing better.

Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Great food and drink too.

Very helpful and hospitable! They even helped us out with change for the laundromat nearby.

Just an absolutely excellent friendly local pub. They don't do food but are quite open to you taking your own food in. The karaoke evenings and parties like the Halloween party last evening are good fun.

Good well run traditional pub, staff hard working and full of fun. Catherine is the gaffer who's got a bubbley personality with a lovely smile 😙 but most of all the beers 🍻 good and the Brandy is even better, staff Suzzie, Karen, Tia, Catherine and of course grumpy Dave 😠 ha ha we love him really!!!!!! But most of all the regulars, full of characters really nice people bless you all CHEERS 🍻

Enjoyed my brief visit, great Guinness nice price happy clientele, hostess and host. Clean and tidy. Real pub has dart boards. Taking my Darts next time.

Cracking pub it has at least 3 Dart boards as well as pool tables. Serves Madri as well as Guinnes other lagers and ciders. Sports are available to watch here too. The staff are friendly and welcoming too.. Well worth a visit for sure.

New Mine Hosts! Very warm welcome. Revamp programme underway inside. Well priced Draught Ales, Lagers & Ciders. Showing Sky & BT Sport for all the latest football matches, with plenty of screens too! New Pool table, Darts too and a skittle alley. In all, a nice pub just off the Downs. Well worth a visit!

Alright if you want a pint and a tear up but not a place for a romantic evening

Very friendly atmosphere and very helpful staff and local residents. Only problem is that the ladies toilet walls are black with damp but otherwise we enjoyed our two visits there.

If you like to be served by an unhelpful miserable old git, this is the pub for you.

A nice quiet pub, pool table & free jukebox. Not too expensive. Definitely a locals pub. Nice.

It's primarily a locals pub. However, I had a warm welcome and wasn't made to feel like an outsider, even though I'm living, once again, at home here in Torquay. Not overly expensive and on par with other pubs in the area. They show live sport too, so always a good place to watch your fave team. If you like karaoke, it's on Saturday's I think.

We as a family have been to the dog and duck many many many times they do the best ever Sunday dinner and it's the best bar we have ever drank at the staff are truly awsome they make all their customers feel comfortable and welcome I reccomend everyone to visit here it really is a special place in torquay NO.1

Never go again, this is defo not a pub for the faint hearted 🙈 As regards to service, all too much for the "barmaid" who looks like she had a bad paper round and annoyed at your presence before you even ordered a drink. Best to keep to the plentiful pubs along the downs 👍

It's Christmas Day evening and I found that the Dog & Duck was open. Very friendly place. A real local in a tourist area. The landlord had put on a buffet as well. 10/10
