DOC Coffee in Eastbourne

I decided to visit this coffee house whilst on a shopping trip today. Unfortunately the initial pleasant ambiance was ruined by a lady worker, shouting very aggressively at a young member of staff who looked very upset and shocked. She chose to reprimand him publicly without showing any concern for how that affected him, her other stuff and the experience of customers on the premises. Her unprofessional attitude and conduct was shocking to witness. I frequent many coffee houses and cafes across the town but absolutely nothing could encourage me to return here and I will advise friends and family of my poor experience of this place too.

Doc was delightful. A warm welcome, lovely food including vegan options and excellent coffee. The owners are charming and the bill was very reasonable. It's going to be our new favourite place to meet in Eastbourne

Doc is our favourite local cafe. Slap bang in the middle of town, yet quietly tucked away from the busy station road and onto a quieter street. Over the years we have grown fond of the owners who are doing an exceptional job by maintaining a warm and friendly atmosphere and really scrumptious food and great coffee. A friday breakfast catch up with my good friend is always worth looking forward to. Must try!

Coffee done very well. Staff are lovely and i5 is a comfortable setting. Maybe a wider range of food would be nice, but overall it’s lovely

This place has become my regular coffee spot. The owners are so welcoming and friendly and it feels like visiting friends. Coffee is always perfect. I usually stop here for lunch when I am in town and the food is worth a try. Artichoke with dukkah and hummus on toast is a favourite of mine 🥰

A friend recommended this place as they have lovely products and it's located very central. Staff was friendly, everything was great.

You just need to cross the road! I have no idea why this excellent coffee house was empty when I visited. Maybe the day after rain & flooding. Maybe the depression of the budget. It’s just a few yards from Eastbourne Railway station in Grove Road. It us the expected layout of a modern coffee house, but notably lots of space between tables if people like avoiding been in crowded places. Also means people can come & go for takeaways without disturbing people drinking in. Great service. I was the only customer at 9:45 on a mid-week morning. I should have asked about the coffee; it had a robust flavour but not bitter as with some chains when it is over extracted. I eat a lot of flapjacks, but this was definitely one of my favourites; date & orange. Moist and sticky; full of flavour. It is next door to a cafe that is higher on the Tripadvisor list but please give this place a go; very highly recommended.

We booked a table for lunch on saturday 5 November for my family. The kindness, food and attention we had was amazing! We were meeting in Eastbourne as we all live a long way from each other. We will definitely return!

I dragged the family here from the Beacon centre after good reviews and was really pleased! Dog treat bowl by the door meant we could relax with pooch quietly under the table. Relaxed, clean, comfortable and books to read. Fantastic coffee, spicy chai latte, yummy smoothies and freshly made egg and bacon rolls and a wonderful choice of Mediterranean of which I had baba ganoush and sun dried tomatoes on toast. What a treat! Happy family. Sorry no photos- we ate and drank it all too quickly.

Best coffee in town indeed. The owner is amazing and so friendly. The breakfast is very good as well.

Treated me and the other half to a coffee and hot chocolate. Absolutely amazing. Then the cinnamon bun caught my eye, I've never had a better bun! Coming back ASAP!

Consistently delicious coffee and friendly staff. I always recommend DOC when someone asks where’s good for coffee. Lovely choice of dairy alternatives too!

Being a coffee lover I've tried almost if not all coffee shops in Eastbourne even the new ones that open! When I came across Doc coffee shop I have only had my coffee there since, not only is the coffee amazing and tasty but the service is great too! I have recommended it to all my friends and family but wanted to on here aswell! It's one thing to own a coffee shop and its another to know how to make coffee and take care of clients and Doc has proven exactly this!

My mum and I enjoyed a tasty brunch yesterday. Great egg plate, my grilled halloumi and smashed avocado were delicious too. everything done just right. Great service also. Thank you!

This cafe does the best flat white in town in fact they are second to none. Would thoroughly recommd their less is more approach.

I discovered this lovely establishment a couple of weeks ago and immediately fell in love with the vibe of the place. I always look forward to popping in and treating myself to a cup of their magnificent coffee! The shop itself is also very groovy and welcoming!

Yes coffee was great! Yes the breakfast was ok. BUT no masks, no protective counter screen, no disinfectant and most importantly no kitchen!!! The lady at the counter one minute gets a card payment from another customer, then turns around and prepares my panini with her bare unwashed hands. Cringe...
