Dinton Pastures Cafes in Wokingham

Lunch and coffee at about 2.30, surprised to see the cafe empty. The tables were a bit tacky , we moved away from one of the more sticky ones. This is a bad sign from a hygiene perspective. Took slightly longer than expected to make two lattes, despite four staff being behind the bar chatting. No staff members came to clean tables in the whole time we were there. The food was pricy and poor quality. Cheap, thin ham, only one egg and very thick chips (seven of them) next to a small salad. The jacket potato was a better choice, but still with small amounts of salad / garnish. The place seems to be going downhill a bit

My husband lives with Parkinson's and a daily walk is absolutely crucial for managing the condition both for exercise but also, very importantly, mental well-being. Where better to do this than circling the White Swan Lake with its backdrop of gnarled oak trees clad in fiery autumn colours; of serene swans gliding across the water; of shy puff-balls hiding under the leaves. But I have to admit the promise of sitting drinking coffee, munching on the fresh fresh pastries and looking over the lake as well as the consistently warm welcome is a Big Motivator. Yesterday, Andy went over and above......I lost sight of my husband who took a wrong turning. 45 minutes later I still had not found him. The rangers were busy but Andy calmly and efficiently took the details and set off to help look. Luckily before it became a bigger search mission, my husband slowly walked into sight. Phew ! But we cannot thank Andy and the Coffee Deck Crew enough - not just for yesterday but for their welcome and attention to detail over the past year.

Great park but I have to say the cafe let it down today! Queued for more than 15 minutes, then had to wait a further 15 minutes for my hot chocolate and latte to be made. Only one coffee machine and only one making the drinks (with a helper it seemed). Loads of staff hanging around moving cakes around and basically doing nothing. I ordered an extra hot, hot chocolate, when it finally was ready I asked if it was extra hot, they said yes, I tasted some and it was just about warm. So I asked them to heat it more please, he came back and said you can’t feel it’s extra hot because the cup is double insulated, I had to tell him I had tasted it and then he heated it up more. The coffee and hot chocolate did taste nice. All in all, very slow service, very expensive, but the drinks were nice. I probably wouldn’t return.

Had a lovely coffee, walk and lunch at Dinton Pastures. It was a lovely day so it was very busy so do be prepared at how busy the Cafe is. Always a sign that somewhere actually does decent food and drink whilst enjoying a day out with family!! They have table ordering/service so we managed to avoid the queues...Top tip!! The staff were very welcoming considering how busy and under pressure they were

If you want to spend half your weekend in a queue then this is the place for you. And when you get to the counter, prepare to be underwhelmed and spoken to in a snippy manner by the overworked staff. The managers need to sort it out as if you need some water quickly, you'll have died of thirst.

Great variety of food and drinks. Team is OK, food served quick and without any issue. They could perhaps smile a bit more often. The best time to visit is before 1000am after this time it's really busy here. Greg Gruba

Really nice spot for a coffee and cake. Great service and coffee. Look forward to returning to have lunch.

We’ve been regulars for over a year and just love all the staff as so friendly and accommodating always a service with a smile and a chat which we have both found so beneficial to our everyday life. Always something going on for everyone wether it’s kayaking, paddle boarding, pedlos.sailing, cycling. Crazy golf, running or just a beautiful wale around the various lakes, in all weather throughout the seasons the experience makes you feel so much more relaxed! Let’s not forget the children’s play park as my grandson thinks it’s just the best ever and is very clean with various rides and picnic areas, Then enh not try the coffee,cake, bacon, sausage baps! Or an ice cream and a cold drink! We can’t speak highly enough of all the staff at Dinton as this place has been a big gem of a find for us with a bonus of good coffee and friendly staff after a most beautiful walk whatever the time of day.
