You can't beat a deep fried doughnut the old fashioned way. This is how doughnuts are made at the big successful doughnut giant stores... Krispy Kreme & Dunkin' Donuts before they're smothered in icing etc. £4.80 for 5 x doughnuts? Yeah, great... at least let people know that they are miniature doughnuts... I'm all about supporting small businesses and having checked the reviews of Swanage and its various restaurants and outlets I found Dino's. A fried chicken/pizza shop with a little doughnut stand by the front door and as a doughnut fanatic I just had to head over for a visit. It is placed in a prime location just off the high street and simultaneously off the seafront. So why are there almost no reviews and some bad ones? Why was the place empty? The summer season has just been and gone too. The fish and chip shop opposite was busy even though a fairly large percentage of their reviews state that the large fish are tiny fish with huge amounts of batter over them. Firstly... it looks like a kebab shop from 1988. Ok, that doesn't really bother me either but it WILL turn off the wealthy mums in their 4X4 AMG's/Q7's so thats them gone. Secondly... food speaks for itself... I didn't try the fried chicken but I did see it sitting there behind the glass looking a little sorry for itself. Not something I'd bring home to the wife... if I had one. Thirdly... and this is by far the most important and obvious point... nowhere does it say 'MINI doughnuts' or 'LITTLE donuts'. See my photo. Now for some figures... the doughnuts were little dainty dwarf doughnuts and at 5 for £4.80 I felt utterly ripped off. The 5 x mini doughnuts wouldn't equate to 2 x standard supermarket sized doughnuts. 5 x full sized doughnuts at Sainsbury? £1.20. Granted... they're not freshly fried in front of your eyes but thats is still a 1/4 of the price for more than double of the same product. Nothing wrong with the taste but the machine they were cooked in didn't look particularly clean, who knows how long the oil had been in it and along with being sneakily ripped off, being served doughnuts that were clearly for elves, I also had a stomach ache later on in the evening for hours, with Dino's being the only culprit. I have the strongest digestive system in the Western hemisphere too, a normal person would have been internally broken which would have consequently damaged the smooth running of the local sewer system. Unbelievable how some people operate...

Ordered a large amount of food. Ordered chicken nuggets and chips but the chips are put in the same box, so rather than getting a full portion you pay for you are given less than a handful. Ordered what was advertised as Smash burgers , which included salad and pickles, well that’s a lie , your offered some onion which I presumed was an add on to the salad. Did not see any hand washing going on , from the young boy who was taking the order and money , who was then asked to help box up the food. Wish I’d walked away.

Had THE best burger I've had in many a month! And for the prices....the BEST I've had ever! 1/2lb cheese and bacon with onions wasn't your normal dry affair, was juicy and a 5* 2 handed burger, taste was great, all beef with no filler, my wife (who is a fussy burger eater) loved every bite and wished she had the 1/2 not 1/4lb but will definitely be back !!! Go here people, staff were great too, no upsell or unnecessary stuff, cooked fresh, washed his hands and used tools to touch food, great place

Had pizza, not good at all. Cardboard base and luke warm toppings. Could be so much better with a bit of effort. Then customers would come back! It's a prime location in swanage so move with the times and I'm sure you will be there in years to come.

I was told this was the best hotdog in Swanage and it did not disappoint. A proper sausage in a toasted bun. 2 for £7 bargain. Tasty, great value and worth a visit

This place is run by a young lad who does not wear gloves or use tongs to make pizzA. As he had dermatitis on his hands ( no problem) however he should not have been grabbing handfuls of cheese and patting on my pizza with no gloves. When i challenged him he became rude.

Some months ago we went to Dino’s as it had always been a firm family favourite (25ish years). Well what can I say… we ordered pizzas. They had been cooked and handed over to us but the pizza size wasn’t what we had ordered. After discussions between myself and the staff I was interrogated as to whether I had given them the correct order. To be honest both lads attitude stank… we were hungry and couldn’t be bothered to argue the toss! When we ate them well I suppose what I mean to say is when tried to eat them it was horrendous. I have never ever eaten a pizza so vile. It was obvious that it was a pre cooked based with toppings on and re cooked. Just terrible. Anyway bank holiday weekend we thought we’d give it another bash but told the family not to order the pizzas. We ordered the burgers. And there it was the good old Dinos. They were lush.Staff attitude was still the same. Perhaps a bit if training on customer service would help. Good luck with whatever the future holds.

As a coeliac I find it frustrating when there’s very limited on offer. Had a non gluten breakfast (no hash brown) another restaurant that finds it hard to swap something in ( I’d like someone to explain to me why this causes such an issue in the kitchen?) breakfast was tepid. I like my food hot. Same as the coffee, had to drink it before my food even arrived as it was lukewarm. Staff are lovey though. I know their hands are tied with these things. (Aside from temperature) just to add it was not busy whilst we were there so this was not a factor.

Came across this pub on our way to Weymouth and was delighted by the fantastic reception that we received from the manageress. She was extremely welcoming to both us and our dog and showed such enthusiasm that we were blown away. As it was a cold day we ordered bangers and mash which hit the spot. Nothing fancy but just good plain food. Also looks a good place for Motorhome / camper stopovers. Would certainly return if in the area.

Bad start when the member of staff greets you with a moan about how many bookings they have. That’s not my problem. Maybe try welcoming us with positivity and wishing my wife a happy Mother’s day instead. Our table seemed ok to start with, but before I had even warmed the seat up we were being asked if we knew what we wanted to order. We asked to be given a minute, but immediately afterwards a second member of staff asked if we were ready to order. The conveyer belt was truly in motion. Well the table was made worse when guests arrived on the adjacent table. It was clear there was insufficient room for comfort. Please stop the money-grabbing, cram them in like sardines approach and provide an enjoyable experience. We ordered our food, two roast beef and a child’s fish goujon and chips. I reckon 5 minutes passed and we were presented with our plates. The only nice part was the horseradish. My beef was tough, potatoes over done and lukewarm at best. The gravy was bland, not beef gravy and I wish I hadn’t added it to the dish. The lunch was rounded off with a bill that already had service charge applied in faded print that I didn’t see. We were a table of 3, why is service charge included as standard? I didn’t want to tip their poor service, bad setting and rubbish food. To top it all my wife had to ask for the Mother’s Day chocolate gift, another chance to say Happy Mother’s Day missed. Never going back!

We had booked a table weeks in advance and people who were in front of us who hadn't booked was given a decent table . Where as we were seated at a table that was central point where everyone was walking around and draughty. We expressed our disappointment and where told there were no other tables yet there was and I again expressed our unhappiness where we sat and asked to move to a vacant table that was a bit more secluded. Waited ages for our salads which were vertually thrown in front of us by a young guy . Terrible service food medioca. Won't be going back.
