We booked a table for our Christmas meal. We were a large group (25) and inspite of there being even more of us (30 plus a baby and a pram) on the night the staff were very accommodating. The staff were very friendly, helpful and chatty all night even though they were literally rushed off their feet! Great customer service plus gorgeous tasty food - can’t ask for more than that! It’s definitely one of our favourite Indian restaurants. Thanks so much for a great night!

Simply speaking this is the best all round curry house in Droitwich but some margin (having eaten in all six) The prices are from the 1990s and the service is always prompt and friendly If you eat anywhere else, you have made a mistake - or like to spend far more than you need to on a meal of equal quality Highly recommended Enjoy :-)

I was travelling alone & saw the indow sign for sunday 'banquet' 4 courses [actualy 3 ] fo £10.95. I walked in & the waiter gave me a look like i'd yrod in something and walked it thru his resteraunt. I was wearing jeans & a smart t shirt so its unclear what he didnt like about me. I asked for a table for 1 for the offer and he said "You have to pay cash for that". As if i looked like i could not afford to pay. I said thats fine and he sst me in an alcove with a stairs over my head. Only two other tables were in use. I asked if non alcholic beers were avaible and as not i had a diet cola with ice. I ordered a prawn puri starter whivh was served with a small salad. The bread was crisp & puffu, the prawns sweet & tender in a delicately spiced sauce. Perfect. I asked for Lamb jhalfrezi main with tice & psid extra for a plain naan. The waiter heated up the main dish at the table on s camping stove on a hostess trolley. Dinner Theatre! The meal was served in a ballti pan on a skillet ring. I should hsve asked for a plate. The lamb was sparce, just 3 pieces, loads of onion two thin strips of green pepper & a couple of green chiles. Perhaps you get more when nit ordering the banquet but tnis was a measly serving. The rice was fluffy , the bread flufy and tasty but i would have liked some tandoor char on the back. I had pistachio kulfi to end which was pleasant. Each dish was cleared as i finished it. On paying, another waiter stated the fee then took mmy £20 note, put it in his pocket & turned to speak to another cudtomer who just entered. I stood there immobile until he went to the till to make my change . I can hardly believe he just assumed a £4 tip without waiting for me to give it. Bloody cheek! Overall i have never felt so unwelcome & poorly treated in a resteraunt, the food is good but service is terrible. I won't be going back. What is wrong in droitwhich?

Had a takeaway dinner from the Dilshad and it was EXCELLENT. Me and my partner live to the back of the restaurant and the food always smells amazing, we decided to finally give it a go. Our party of three enjoyed an excellent meal at Dilshad this week. It’s a very popular and long established traditional Indian restaurant which does not try to be fancy, delivering what you would wish for, very well. Starters, main course, popadoms and naan were all delicious. Service felt personal with no long waits and prices were extremely reasonable. Definitely recommended.

Visited on a Sunday evening with some friends who are very regular customers here. The menu is extensive, but the food was simply excellent. Friendly greeting and good service from the moment we walked in (and we arrived before our friends "the regulars"). Portion size was more than enough - you should not go home hungry from this restaurant. Food was well presented, super-tasty and just great - no more to say. Give this place a try - you won't regret it.

We had a takeaway from the Dilshad Tandoori during lockdown. The food was ready within half an hour of our placing the order. It all tasted excellent, and I was surprised by how reasonable the total price was. We are all vegetarian and the vegetable dishes were all cooked perfectly. The staff are friendly, approachable and very polite. Will definitely come again!

Food was top notch. Normally we go & sit in at least 2/3 times a month, but had a takeaway tonight due to the coronavirus. Usually takeaway food is not as good as actually eating in,but here food still good quality & would recommend this restaraunt 100% Loved seeing them implement social distancing while still running a business. A huge thank you to Mannan and his staff who are doing their bit during the lock down.

We came here for dinner and had a pleasant evening. The poppadoms came with generous portions of chutney and onion salad. I appreciated that because at some other local Indian restaurants the portions can be small. The food was fine. Personally I can think of better Indian restaurants. Visited at 6:30 pm, place already busy. Took a while to seat us but order taken quickly. There was a wait for our food but not to long. Food was tasty but dishes that weren’t Balti’s were served in a Balti dish with a ring so for my kids it was difficult to eat and perhaps non Balti dishes should be served on plates. Food hot and tasty very good. Naan bread delicious It was just the waiting for the bill that was annoying. On the whole very good 8/10Will definitely return

We have eaten at many excellent Indian restaurants, but sadly this was not one of them! Dilshad is just your very average, bog standard curry house. I ordered Chicken Shashlick - which came as a generous portion, but disappointingly, instead of arriving sizzling hot as per norm, mine was luke warm. My husband was equally uninspired by his Chicken Karahi - usually one of his favourite curries. Unfortunately we found the whole experience dull and underwhelming.

We were looking for somewhere new to eat in Droitwich and this place had good reviews. Things started off promisingly enough. Friendly service with drinks and poppadums served quickly, and a nice selection pickles with them. My starter, tandoori paneer tikki was lovely and I was really looking forward to the special biryani. What a disappointment when it came - it was more like friend rice mixed with stew pack meat and one or two tiny prawns. The veg curry sauce was also bland. They didn't even question why I left most of my meal! I'm afraid I wouldn't return on the evidence of this meal.

House special, a duck curry, was truly awful. Tasteless dish with no saving grace. Even when I mentioned this to the staff they seemed unconcerned. Have to say, to be fair, the front of house staff were friendly and welcoming, but at the same time could not care less about serving up such bland food. Sadly the kitchen staff apparently don't care, or simply like taking the piss. Will not be going back..and suggest you don't either. Saturday evening meal with old school friend, this was our first time here, nice smart restaurant, prompt service considering I did not make a reservation. My friend ordered and enjoyed a chicken tikka biryani, and I ordered a Balti dish with chicken tikka which included 'mixed fruits' thinking this might be fresh banana, pineapple etc. only to discover the familiar tiny grapes and chopped fruit I used to have as a kid in the 70s in the form of tinned fruit cocktail ! However, the Balti was ok, the chicken and sauce was good, but please Dilshad no fruit cocktail, it kind of ruins an otherwise decent dining experience.

This was the third Indian restaurant we have tried in Droitwich. Unfortunately on this visit it lags miles behind the other two in the town. The chicken pieces in my curry were hard and my wife's tandoori chicken had been micro waved to death. The chips were cold and when we raised this issue they were removed, micro waved and returned. The tandoori was returned and only a quarter of the curry was eaten. On paying there was no apology from staff. Will not be returning. Plus £4 for a beer is a bit expensive. I'd pay less in Birmingham city centre.

I went to Dilshad with friends on a damp and miserable Tuesday in November, there were a few people but it was definitely a quiet evening. The layout and decor was good, looking modern and clean with crisp tablecloths and nice levels of colour and lighting in the place. We got a friendly welcome from the staff and were dealt with promptly and efficiently. Lots of choice on the menu and flexible when a couple of us asked for some items which were not listed or variations to the listed dishes. The food we had was lovely, very tasty with enough spice and heat to keep things interesting, the breads were nice and fresh. The service throughout was attentive and very friendly. We all were happy with the food and the bill was very good at the end. It's a great place for a good Indian meal.

Me and my partner went to the dilshad last night and left extremely annoyed. We always used the dilshad when we went out for a curry and it's always been really good, until last night! We arrived around 8:30pm, upon arrival we were the only two people in there! We gave our drinks order and ordered a couple of popadoms. During this time 2 men walked in, so 4 customers at the time in total. When ordering our mains we told the man taking our order (believed to be the owner) we wanted a chicken tikka to share along with some sides of naan, rice and chips. He then responded "no you can't share" we explained we wouldn't eat a full curry to ourselves and that we always share and get sides, he then took our sides order and told us "no you haven't ordered enough"! We couldn't believe what he was saying!! We then added another side and he said "no you need to have a starter" my partner explained we wouldn't eat a starter and it would just be a waste! This man then responded "I'll do it this once but you can't share again" we were absolutely disgusted at his behaviour he was extremely rude. After all of this we decided not to eat there at all and left! Never have we been to a restaurant and been told what we have to spend! He was just trying to get as much money out of us as possible. It's such a shame because we always used to eat there and we have always, always shared a curry with no hassle! We will not be returning there.

Nhan was tasteless too. Popudoms were stale (how?) and came with generic pink sauce. Our two sides were sliced up mushrooms with brown slop and sliced up courgettes with whole chillies??? Rice was hard multi-coloured grains. We have just moved from Oxford so are used to expensive meals, this cost £28 so we were expecting something special as that's steep even by our standards. I can honestly say I’ve never been let down by the food or the service the staff has given me in over the 14 years I have been coming to the restaurant. Not once have I had a bad meal or had to complain about the service!I have been coming to the Dilshad in Droitwich since I was 15 and I’m nearly approaching 29. For me it’s a place I love to come and I always get a warm reception when either picking up a takeaway or sitting down with family or friends. When the restaurant got closed down due to flooding for nearly 2 years this left a gaping hole inside me. I tried many other Indian restaurants around the region but never has an Indian meal been the same quality as the Dilshad or the friendly staff that make this place a firm favourite of mine.As a ‘regular’ it’s nice to know the staff recognise me and even know my order before ordering! As a small town of Droitwich's size and how many people come to the restaurant this to me show's how much the staff of the Dilshad take note of who comes to their restaurant.I only have high praise for The ‘Bossman’ and his staff and I consider them as friends. Credit to the chef’s cooking aswell the delicious food they serve.Overall If you want great Indian food with a few pints of Cobra any night of the week in Droitwich then the Dilshad is certainly the place to come, no other place in Worcestershire or the midlands can rival it!I wish them every success in 2016!Ian

The food is great but don't expect a good service. As we were waiting for a table another group of four arrived who were obviously regulars, they were chatting to the staff whilst they waited. Sure enough a table for four became clear and the other group were seated whilst we waited. I expected it to happen, it just felt like that kind of place, but it's still annoying that it happened. A few minutes later we were told that two tables were available so don't worry we would be seated soon. That doesn't make it acceptable. The waiter handed us the menu then immediately asked us for drinks. We didn't even have a drinks menu. When we asked for one he stood over the table waiting for us to order. My mum hates to be rushed and wasn't happy. It then took an age to receive the drinks, get any popodoms (we had to ask again for them) and to have our order taken. With all this in mind I thought I'd made a bad choice of restaurant and was ready to give it a very negative review. But then the food turned up and it tasted great. All four of us had a different curry and each one was full of flavour. We could taste the different spices, fruits and vegetables in each dish and they were bursting with flavour. The only let down was the naan, I asked how large they were and was told they were average size. Well, I lived in Bradford for 5 years and trust they they are tiny naans compared to the Bradford average. But apart from the size of the naans I can't fault the food, it was easily as good as the best I've had in Bradford.I overheard someone saying about how much busier it was than normal, perhaps the staff were just overwhelmed that night. The other group been seated before us cast a shadow over the night, but the food almost redeemed the restaurant in my eyes. Almost...

Had meal on a quiet early Saturday evening at the restaurant. Very welcoming and service was good throughout. If anything they try a little bit too hard.Atmosphere was nice with background music but also had TV on that played something different.Small restaurant that doubles as takeaway that seemed popular. We had starter and main. All the food was of a very good standard and everyone was complimentary of their individual dishes. Drinks as ever in a restaurant are expensive. Overall very good

I won't be eating here again, starter was taken away while we were still eating it as main meal was brought out, again we had not finished and they took our plates away again, staff seemed really unfriendly and just wanted you to eat your meal and get out. !!!!!!!

Always get my take always from here, however we went for a meal. The older guy and the youngest member of staff were ok but I have to say the rest were extremely miserable hence we did not tip. It does not cost anything to speak (no exaggeration members of staff did not speak ) , I find it very rude. Food arrived with a skin on top of the curry, a little stirring would of done the job . Curry it self was ok. A little disappointing . Would try other restaurant s in town

A highly recommended restaurant. An extensive menu, served in pleasant surroundings. The food is beautifully cooked and the balance of spices etc is great, quality meat too which can sometimes let a restaurant down. A warm welcome is given to all by the owner and his staff and nothing is too much trouble. They can also do dishes which aren't on the menu if requested. All in all a great value restaurant to take friends and family too, with an excellent take away service too and a bar and even free Wifi. Open 7 days a week.

Good quality food and nice welcoming staff. The restaurant is split into two so when there are not many customers it does not feel empty. Have now visited several times.

Just popped in to have dinner one night. There were two of us and we really enjoyed the food. Good quality poppadums, dips. Starter was a very generous portion of prawn purée, main course was delicious! Would definitely revisit if in the area.

The guy who owns this place has had it for over 20 years. He depends on existing old business. To be fair people keep coming back. After the 2008 floods nearly every other business in the streets got going again quickly. Mysteriously this was shut for about 1 1/2 years. Surprised the insurance companies never checked this out. The food has always been in my personal opinion try rubbish and unimpressive. In Droitwich they have had no competition. There are two within walking distance. The ones that consider them selves posh and shut early. Plus the one in the high street who are generally unimpressive. The problem for them is that within 200 yards either side of the M5 junction 5 two great curry places have opened up. I just think this place tries to trade on the days when better was not available. I used it recently again to see if the competition had improved them. They failed. Still dried out food with small amounts of important ingredients and unimpressive. Generally rude staff too who I endured for many years for convenience though how nice to have some local alternatives within 2 miles. Sorry to be blunt though I am here to pass on how I feel and I know my food

We was a work group having our quarterly night out and all of us enjoying an Indian we picked the Dilshad.Im not sure whether we will go back... on the plus side the food was very nice, prompt, hot and tasty. But on the hand the abrupt manner and rudeness of the staff (apart from the one behind the bar who was the only who smiled!) and the cost of drinks these put a bit of a damper on the night. There are other Indian restaurants in Droitwich and surrounding areas so we will go somewhere else next time.

Found ourselves in Droitwich at 10.15 last Friday night. It was Valentine's Day. Lotus House and Golden Valley were closed so ended up here. Ordered a chicken dhansak and a chicken biryani. The dhansak had zero flavour. It was like a very bland stew. Without doubt the worst I have had ever. it was like they had left out all the spices. The biryani was the same. The most bland food ever. What made it worse was that they charged extra for the rice. Dhansak (for some reason I have never actually worked out) comes with pilau rice in every other place i have ordered it, and that's a lot over the years. The staff were perfectly charming, even presenting my lovely wife with a rose, but they need to get someone in who knows how to cook what the menu states.

Attended here as part of a large party. Firstly we were split into lots of small tables which was disappointing. Secondly my starter was cold and my rice was burnt. Finally, the attitude of most of the staff was utterly shocking. I have never felt so unwelcome. Go to Spice Fusion round the corner for a warm welcome and excellent food.

Went there on Wed at about 9.30.A few people dining there but quite quiet.Given a good table and shared Poppadoms with all the trimmings, followed by a Tandoori fish starter which was delicious. Not something I've tried there before.Had a very tastey main course of chicken and prawns with a pint of Cobra.I've tried most of the Indians in Droitwich and surrounding Worcs countryside but keep coming back to The Dilshad. It's got service with a smile and advice if you need help. The food never disappoints and always represents good value.I'll be back!

I rarely eat Indian styled foods as I seem to suffer from the spices as I have aged. However while visiting family the decision was made to have a take out curry. The menu was quite extensive and the prices seemed reasonable. Rice was not included other than with biryanis. Between us we had 7 entrees, 3 different breads and an assortment of chutney and pickles. The order was placed by phone and was ready upon our arrival. The staff was very pleasant and thanked us warmly for our business. Everything was in 1 wine case. Within 10 minutes all was out and ready to go on the kitchen table. Portions seemed quite large until you realized that most of it was sauce. The breads were very soggy and the rice dry. The 5 different chutney/pickles were the highlight. However the amounts were enough for 20 people. Nobody was impressed with anything in particular. I had a Chicken Kashmiri that I considered to be almost sickly sweet. As a take out it was a disappointment but I have a feeling that dine in would be far better. Sometimes some foods just need to be plated and served. I think this was one of these occasions. Next time I'm in town I'll give it a try to see if my theory is correct.

Since moving to Droitwich in August last year, myself and my partner have been to this restaurant on many occasions. After trying other Indian restaurants in the area that were not so nice, we were pleasantly surprised by the lovely welcome from the waiters who are all very polite and attentive, one in particular always has a little chat with us and is always happy to help us, rarely ever seen without a smile on his face. We were seated in the main dining area which is modern and clean. The waiter brought over our menu's and asked if we were ready to order our drinks within five minutes of being seated - very prompt! The menu is extensive and has a wide range of choices to suit everyone's palate, they are also very reasonably priced. Whilst looking at our menus the waiter asked if we would like some poppadoms in which We said we would. He bought them out with a range of dips, they were still warm and tasted divine! Once we had finished the waiter took our orders, I had onion bahjee to start, chicken Pathia with rice and garlic naan for main, my partner had chicken tikka, then chicken madras with rice and plain naan. Within ten minutes our fresh, wonderfully presented starters arrived, they were cooked to perfection and full of flavour. It never takes me long to demolish them, the best bahjee in droitwich! After finishing we waited for our mains; they came out in traditional balti dishes and warmed up in front of us, my pathia is always to die for with a wonderful balance of sweet, sour and spice, just how I like it! The chicken was tender and juicy, The rice was cooked to perfection and my naan full of flavour. My partner enjoys a spicy curry and always opts for the madras with extra chicken.( only an extra 50p) to which he is never disappointed. It is always full of flavour. I always find it hard to finish my main as the portions are always big (bonus!) so I asked my lovely waiter to put it in a doggy bag, he was happy to accept my request and came back with it alongside some hot towels to clean our hands. When we asked for our bill it came with complementary after eights, can't beat a bit of chocolate! The price of our bill was very reasonable, you get what you pay for and so much more! I absolutely adore this restaurant and have introduced it to my friends and family, they love it that much too that whenever were there we have to take them with us! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone that wants a warm welcome, great food, great service and not too much expense at the end of the night! It is well worth a visit and I'm sure you won't be disappointed, we never are!

Decor and atmosphere were very pleasant, even on a quiet mid-week evening. The staff were (mostly) very pleasant, and I was looking forward to a lamb dish which was a huge favourite down the years. Nice popadoms, condiments and starters, and the mains were served in a balti pan, over a metal ring, and looked and tasted fine. Until the last 3 lumps of mine turned out to be quite large pieces (there were only 6) of un-chewable gristle. When I pointed them out to one of the waiters, he said (quote) "This is what you get with fresh meat". My companion was astonished! (No sign of a token discount, so of course, I assume that gristle is a "pot-luck" affair, here.) When I replied "Not in my 30 years of experience around the world" he said "OK, I'll tell chef".2 drinks, popadoms, 2 starters and 2 mains with rice and naan came to £33+ Disappointing.

The Dilshad will have something to appeal to just about anyone who likes curry, whether hot or mild, meaty or veggie. an extensive menu including all the British favourites along with some more unusual and adventurous fayre. Ordered delivery for 7.15 but it turned up at 6.30 and we were not ready to have it . The papadome turned up in about 100 pieces which were not even big enough to eat . Have had food from here many times but to be honest this may well be the last time as food was a bit boring too
