Celebrated my parents 45th wedding anniversary last Sunday and decided to head to the Dhaka having not been for years. We were not disappointed. Dud was our host and he really made the evening!!! The food was outstanding. Delicious. 6 of us all chose the Sunday banquet which is great value. We shall be back!! JR

Booked a table.. special 5th birthday offer with 50% off food.. it was mayhem. After 40 mins sitting at our table we were given menus but no drink order taken. People on next table had been there 2 hours at this point and were still waiting for main course. The people on table behind had just got their main course after 2.5 hours. It was a complete shambles with no organisation and barely any staff. The owner was running round like a headless chicken! Bookings they clearly couldn't service had been taken through greed so we just left after 50 mins of no service. Would never go back and will start going elsewhere for our regular takeaway. Doubt they will make it to 6th birthday!

Abysmal! To be frank. We have just left after it became clear we are not going to get fed any time soon. So for context they are running a 50% off offer which they advertised in the paper and online. We booked a table for 7.30 and were taken to it pretty much on time. It was half an hour before anyone brought our menus and after 45 minutes we hadn’t had anyone take a drinks menu. There seemed to be 2 serving staff and one barman and to be honest there just wasn’t enough of them to cope. It’s not their fault but realistically when you are having a large offer running and tables are booked there is really no excuses. We left after the table next to us told us they had been sat down since 6.30 and hadn’t gotten their food yet. After a day of work I wasn’t looking forward to the prospect of eating my meal at bed time! Organisation was terrible, and as a further point the prices are so silly 50% off is no better a deal than going somewhere else for dinner. Very disappointed, the place needs to seriously shake off some greed and hire more staff to reduce the pressure on the existing staff who simply are not managing. The place has really gone down hill, unfortunately I won’t be back any time soon.

When we went I was really excited, having been there multiple times beforehand. We went for Father’s Day and it was an amazing surprise. The food is probably the best part of India 🇮🇳 🇮🇳, and I personally think that this was top notch although I did find a turmeric pod in the chicken cheese cofta. The service there is brilliant and I would definitely return

Had many good meals here but not tonight. Had butter chicken mains it had no flavour at all and the chicken was very dry. So disappointed. This is not a cheap restaurant but you don’t mind if the food is great but it was not good. £17.95 for butter chicken other Indian restaurants charge £12.95. So definitely not worth it. Sorry guys but it ruined our evening. Staff were friendly

Our dining experiences at The Dhaka have been a mixed bag, to say the least. There were occasions when the curry served to us was rich, robust, and packed with flavors that dance on the palate, making it a memorable meal. However, inconsistency seems to be a recurring theme, as there have been times when what was supposed to be a hearty curry turned out to be disappointingly watery, lacking the depth and complexity we had come to expect. The chicken tikka, a dish we've leaned towards frequently, has also been hit or miss. When it's good, it's tender, perfectly marinated, and a joy to savor. Yet, on some unfortunate occasions, we've been met with chicken that's tough, making us question if it was rushed or perhaps overlooked in the kitchen. The last couple of times we opted for delivery, our anticipation for a delightful meal was met with disappointment. Both times, the curry was more akin to a thin soup than the thick, indulgent curry we craved, and the chicken was tougher than we'd have liked. This inconsistency could hint at changes in the kitchen, possibly a new chef still finding their footing with the restaurant's recipes. After these experiences, we've decided to explore other Indian dining options in the area. While The Dhaka has shown potential with some dishes, the lack of consistency, especially with their curries and chicken tikka, has led us to look elsewhere for our Indian cuisine fix.

On arrival we were warmly greeted and shown to a table in the conservatory. The decor was clean and pleasant. The concealed blue lighting above gives a softness to the atmosphere. We were served by Dud who was very chatty and helpful when I asked for a paneer starter that wasn’t listed. I had a saag paneer starter and my husband had the samosas, both were very flavourful. We shared a 2 🌶️ 🌶️ chicken (Shashlik korai, I think) this had definite heat without being too hot. The naan bread was freshly cooked in their tandoor, it was light and a little crispy. This is the second visit in the last couple of months and again I was not disappointed. Maybe one slight negative, the one glass house Chardonnay was too sweet for me.

Horrendous owner, who let his kids run around the restaurant screaming (and this is really understating the behaviour of these kids... it was more like a school playground than a restaurant) whilst customers were sitting down for the dinner service. When people complained he got incredibly aggressive and forced the people who complained to leave the restaurant. Would not recommend this restaurant to anyone, there are plenty of other far better Indian restaurants in Carlisle who offer a much better dining experience.

Insiped chutney tray. Tandoori chicken Very dry. Other dishes likewise. suspect precooked. decor dated. Service OK. £124 for poppadoms. 4 mains. 2 rice 1 nan couple of drinks. ? Not worth the money. On the good side it has parking.

2.5 hours for delivery yes I understand we are in trying times but at least stop taking orders you cant cope with.food arrived cold and not pleasant we would have cancelled the order if we hadn't used food hub and have to wait up to 5 days for a refund . wont be ordering from the tandoori again.avoid at all costs and not even an apology on the phone twice.

Ordered from here a number of times since reopening and unfortunately EVERY SINGLE TIME there has been something wrong with the order. They've either charged us double for items, wrongly added up or there has been missing items that we've paid for! Always gave them the benefit of the doubt as thought there newly opening and everywhere has teething problems. But yet again, tonight being the final straw. Phoned up to say we were missing x4 items following collecting our order, they promised to deliver these missing items and never have. Extremely disappointed won't be returning.

Got a takeaway, arrived late. Chicken very chewy and the sauce was very watery. Best thing was the poppadoms.
