Dew Drop Inn in Eastbourne

Saturday night for dinner and drinks. Nice pub and cozy atmosphere. staff very friendly and efficient. Food was good (burger and such, nothing fancy) but very pricey (chips were 4 pounds for a small portion of frozen chips). We were advised the wait would be 1h which was about right. We paid about 55 pounds for two burgers, two chips, two pints and a starter...no wonder pubs are going bust left and right. However we liked the vibe and the food (chips aside) was great 👍

A lovely traditional pub with a great outside area at the back. Delicious food, good choice of drinks and efficient service.

Dropped in for a quick pint before setting off to Amex. Love this pub! Had some good ales on, will have to pop back again soon

Brought a huge group in here after a hike in the area. Fantastic burger - took a while but they warned us. Everything delivered in pretty much the order it was ordered in, which can be a bugbear in other venues.

Visited The Dew Drop Inn and unfortunately had a pretty poor experience. The bartender—a woman with jet-black hair and heavy black eyeliner—came across as disinterested and unapproachable from the start. Our food order was incorrect, and while there was a brief apology and a promise to sort it out, we were ultimately forgotten about. No follow-up, no fix—just left waiting and feeling like an afterthought. It’s a shame, because the place could have potential, but the service let it down completely. Definitely won’t be returning.

My Old Man told me he drank here in WW2! I met locals who backed up his fanciful tales. A pub that has undergone a few facelifts since then. I like the current one. Good real ale selection. I had a Lakedown Sussex Pale, oddly first tried in Newcastle two weeks ago.

I've been regular for years and I have noticed how dark the garden has been in the evenings in the recent months. The round tables are in pitch black darkness as they don't have the lights from the heaters. For someone with mobility issues that is really dangerous as there's some steps to get on those tables. The prices have gone up. At times there's no Amstel or other drinks available for the happy hour. During the winter, there was no heating on indoors at times and there's been times when there was no music on either. It's a lovely venue, but the highlight now is the beer garden, which is dark till late in the evening. I'm writing this at 20.30 on 31st of March and the garden is dark as ever. The photo attached is obviously brightened.

Good food but our experience was spoilt by a large group with noisy children

Came for a drink. Really beautiful place and eclectic vibe to the place. Good choice of drinks at reasonable prices. The service at the bar was friendly and welcoming. However, they have a photo booth inside which I thought was a great idea so me and my wife went inside, paid the £3.50 but nothing happened, no photos, so when I asked the bar person I was given an "I don't know" response. A pity since it seems like a great idea if it works, maybe our photos came out eventually but we wrote it off as a dead loss. The place itself was really nice though.

I really like this place. A Blue Moon diligently served by a couple of lovely staff to the accompaniment of Alex Reece on the sound system. Great stuff. Oldie worldie and modern marvellousness in one beautifully-smelling package.

A great local pub with a good vibe

Super friendly bar staff, love the seating arrangements, very comfortable. Food was great! Chef didn’t want to swap the sauce from the bbq and maple sriracha tenders with the extras on the menu, so I ended up ordering plain tenders with the garlic sauce and had the bbq sauce swapped with the maple sriracha for the same price, just without the extra cheese, bacon bits and pickles which was a shame. But no love lost. Just wish the chef had been a little more lenient. I tipped for the barman going to the kitchen and asking for me.

Beautiful pub, great staff, reasonably priced drinks. What more can you ask for?

My food was cold and I was confused as I thought I chose a brioche burger bun and it came seeded with a spare brioche bun , thought that was odd

The burger selection is absolutely fire. You cannot go wrong with any option you decide to go with. The curly fries are amazing. Def going to go again.

Nice quirky pub , good selection of beers , bottled and on tap. Nearly £7 a pint, it's not a cheap pub, but it's still well worth a visit. We didn't eat on this occasion, but the food coming out looked and smelled good ! The prices are the only reason I've not given 5 stars.

Very nice , they have turned music 🎶 down in afternoon, I have asked to turn up , thats why I went there , they did a bit at the time but everytime I've been back its hardly heard🙄 ........ let's see

If you love loud pubs this is the place. Meals were very large and tasty and the prices were cheap for what we got. I got 4 drinks for £12, as a city dweller, i was shocked at how cheap it all was. Meal for 4 and drinks came to £50 ~. Bargin. Im not a fan of loud venues however. But being fair, what else do you expect from a pub meal at 8pm on a sunday at christmass time.

The bouncer stefan was the best bouncer around. I wasn’t aloud in as I was under 21 but he made sure I was safe outside. Nicest guy ever and I even had more fun outside talking to him then I had inside any other pub. Make sure stefan gets all the praise. Thank you, Gethin.

I went on an evening when they were having staffing issues, altogether it was a bit of a disaster. I could only have one thing on the menu as I’m gluten free, but it was so inedible I returned it. I was given a burger that had no flavour and didn’t even come with any salad or other bits it should have had, the bun was stale. I couldn’t even have chips as they were cooked with other foods that weren’t gluten free. Other people on my table didn’t get their food at all as it was given to another party. I was told my bill would be refunded but over a month and several phone calls later I’m still waiting for them to do this.

Very quirky place with usual tap beers and a couple of real ales available. Wooden floors throughout, reasonably decorated with unusual pictures on the walls. Staff were friendly and polite. Food served here and it was dog friendly too. Beer was good. Enjoyed my visit.

DANGEROUS-ly good, whether you're there for a knees up or a quiet bite to eat with a drink they have something for you. I have revisited this timeless gem on several occasions and never with the same groups of people, I've eaten here a few times, never the same thing and the food, atmosphere and service has never disappointed. THIS IS a very well balanced establishment, what more could you ask for from a pub, great food, nice outdoor area, wheelchair access, large bar, great staff, live music and plenty of seats and sofas. Also please note that the price of my visits to pubs are usually based solely on food prices. If I include the booze, it could topple into the hundreds 💅

Outstanding bar with fabulous interiors. Very decent set of taps, we were lucky even to catch a cask cider. Very much recommend.

Great pub with a good menu... well as long as you like burgers that is. They have gluten free buns and choices if needed. I would also say this is a pub of many appearances. From a quiet local to a vibrant lively Dj led hot spot.

Nice cool vibe pub in town centre

Cool place, very funky. Good atmosphere, good drinks. They have life music sometimes or a dj. I don't like the toilets which everything is sticky there... Food is really good but very poor menu.

Order took nearly 2hr from when I placed the order. I rung the restaurant they said unfortunately your driver kept not turning up which was pre-longing delivery time. Quality of food was good only issue was it was going cold. Due to just eat drivers not turning up previously.

Only popped in for a pint, friendly staff but was quiet as quite early. didn't eat but have before, and was good.

Super rude to our group. Would not accept our Chinese friends BRITISH RESIDENCE PERMIT for age verification...as it's not a "British ID".... didn't ask any of the British people for IDs but would not serve any of the Italian or non-American people....

Amazing! Fantastic! Wonderful! Cosy! Loved it ,loved it,loooooved it! Very friendly bar staff and chef brought in the food, I thought that's a nice touch. They have a very cosy seating indoors and a wonderful garden. Food is tasty! Vibe is soooo cozy! It's the best pub I have visited in Eastbourne in my opinion:) would recommend stopping by at least for a drink;)

Don’t let people in if they don’t have an English ID. Went to the pub with a group of friends (ALL WORK FOR THE NHS AT EASTBOURNE HOSPITAL) and were refused entry because one was Irish and one was American. Doormen stated that the new policy is they don’t let anyone in without an English ID. Both had ID and even a residency work permit but were still refused entry. Crazy policy. How are you meant to have an English ID if you aren’t English. Won’t be returning.

Lovely pub with vegan and gluten free options. Food was delicious, and so were the cocktails. Service was friendly, and the pub is cosy. I think they're dog friendly too.

Was a quiet Monday. Pretty empty. Lavs could do with a good clean. Handrail up the stairs to the bogs a bit sticky. Urrgh. Beer OK. Nice chilled vibes. Yeah. I'd go back. But I'd take some wet wipes.

Didn't eat so be unfair to give a review on food. Tbf I don't even know if they do food. Went there late the other evening with a few friends, staff were lovely and friendly, good quick service even though it was busy and they did me a cup of tea as well as I was desi for the night. Nice atmosphere. So yes would recommend for a pint or an evening.

Brilliant little pub. Dog friendly to the max! Burgers are the mainstay, so they do it very well. Such a friendly atmosphere. The type of pub you can go into alone and end up with mates lol

This pub is super nice, with great decor, selection of drinks and chilled vibes. It is unfortunately let down by the extravagant prices I paid £6.40 for a guiness. A pint of neck oil will set you back £7.50. Such a shame as its a really nice place. Needs to realise its in Eastbourne, not central London.

We had a nice meal and some drinks at the dew drop. The staff are friendly and portion sizes are very good. It was very busy (to be expected on a Saturday night) so we ended up sat outside but thankfully they have heaters!

Friendly staff, good beer, great food and killer cocktails. I had a burger which combined being tasty with also being able to be picked up and eaten. Plenty of options for my son who is allergic to milk and eggs. Only thing which could have made it better for me would be having rock music in the background

Ordered the Stack Your Chick Up with fries, wasn't disappointed. If you like a hefty portion the Dew Drop always deliver. Everything was perfectly cooked and arrived piping hot. Was deliciously messy to eat, cheers guys

Without a doubt - the best burgers you can have delivered here in Eastbourne. We ordered the bacon & brie burger (next level), the spicy chicken burger (insanely good) and the BBQ loaded fries. The loaded were not big enough to share. So, one each next time. I honestly think the burger was the best burger I've ever had. I think this place takes the crown from Ramos.

I had the 'Fight For Your Right To Patty': which is a patty, cheese, pickles and onions sandwiched between two slices of texas toast. A pint to wash it down. A thoroughly enjoyable experience which was highlighted by did I want my beer in a glass or a jug. Perfect question on a lovely day with a friend. I had a jug! The lunch time deal is a good deal indeed.

Lovely pub in the middle of the town centre. The food was really delicious and did not need to even wait 20 minutes for it. There is only one thing to mention what wasn't 5 star, it is the location of our table. It was a tiny table between the toilet and the entrance door... but will be back and will ask for a table somewhere else. Staff is incredibly nice and very friendly.

Lovely experience last night. Beautiful calm atmosphere with its unique beautiful interior. We left smiling and full!! Food service was brilliant 👏 Food it self was absolutely delish.... the food combos and flavours of the burgers where spot on and morish. Loaded fries where epic 😋 Cocktails so different and flavoursome Highly recommend- living tequila loca and the - jam shot ! Looking forward to going back 😀

Update: after visiting another place nearby and being very disappointed, this place is like the polar opposite, friendly helpful staff, nice atmosphere, clean and fantastic hot food, still highly recommend the Vegan food here, especially the satay burger. Love this pub, a cheery welcome on arrival, explaining the whole covid proceedure clearly, quick service, well spaced out tables, fantastic vegan food. Complete contrast to another pub nearby we tried to goto.

A meat eater, a vegetarian and a vegan went out for lunch and we were all delighted!! A friend had come to visit and we wanted to show him Little Chelsea. The Dew Drop is the jewel in the crown. You'd have to go a long way to find a better burger. Sorry no pics because we were all hungry. Friendly staff, comfy sofas and above all it was nice and cosy on a freezing cold day! Top place 😊

The delivery driver never delivered our order. Nor did they attempt to get in touch.

We stopped by for a pint and ended up lingering far longer, captivated by the incredible ambiance of this pub. Its prime location and cozy, intimate setting create a truly inviting atmosphere.

Went to this pub with a group of ten colleagues, the youngest of which were in their late twenties. Two of our group got asked for ID and despite showing images of their passports were not allowed to buy a drink. It seemed beyond a coincidence that these two were the only two Asian members of our party. Disappointed to see in other reviews that this is not the first occasion this has happened. Flagrant racism- this spoiled our evening- we won't be returning.

Driver left order on doorstep without making any attempt to notify me it had arrived. Awful service from delivery person.

Amazing food, drinks and service

The place is lovely both outside and in. We had roast beef and lamb. The meat and gravy were delicious and the veg very nice and fresh. However, that’s were the good points end really. The food came suspiciously quickly like within a few minutes of ordering and there were only 3 potatoes when the meal cost £21 pounds each, which seemeed mean, all of which were overdone and dry. It tasted reheated. The Yorkshire’s also overdone and too hard and dry. The veg for some reason comes as a shared plate for two and there wasn’t enough for two people really. Again mean for the price. No one checked back to see if the food was ok nor when they collected the plates. When we left feedback at the desk when leaving, the staff didn’t Really sound like they cared, although they did promise to pass it on to the kitchen staff. Disappointing on the whole.

£17 just for burger and chips? £17!! Are you serious? If you wanted a pint youd be looking at £21/22.. absolutely ridiculous! Blame 'Inflation' all you want.. that's called greed! You dont need to charging that amount for burger/chips/pint. It's almost actually offensive. I think they over estimate themselves to thinking charging that much is ok. Apart from the extortionate prices... it was clean enough areas, and atmosphere was pleasant, with respectful, and decent bar staff.

Def better quality in the pub, but still nice.

My friends and I tried getting in with our valid BRPs (government-valid IDs). However, the guard outside did not let us in and told that we needed either UK driver's license or a UK passport to be able to get in as per the bar policy. My partner and I have visited here multiple times before and this has never happened before. More than a policy issue, it seemed a very race/nationality-based gatekeeping.

I came here twice now and had a good time. Its dog friendly and has a nice outdoor garden. I ordered food which is burgers or wings. The beer selection is great and prices are high average. This place would be great for a date to catch up with friends or a cheeky pint or cocktail.

Almost £20 for burger and fries so it's in 5Guys territory.... However, it's just as good! The Chicken or Beef burgers are superb! You will not be disappointed.

Utterly charming helpful staff, fantastic vegan hotdog for me, meat dish for my friend, well priced bottle of wine. Dog made welcome. Sat in the garden at the back. Food was lovely, very relaxed and happy vibe. Will definitely go back
