Hi Team, I’m writing to share our disappointing experience at your restaurant yesterday. While we were initially pleased to be seated outdoors without a reservation on a Thursday evening, our evening took a downturn when it started raining. One of your servers kindly guided us to another table, but shortly after, we were confronted by a lady, possibly the manager, who insisted we vacate the table as it was reserved. Despite our attempts to explain that we had only moved at the direction of your staff, she continued to argue with us instead of offering a solution. When we asked where we could sit to eat our food, especially given the rain, she had no answer. Eventually, we were assigned another table, but only for 40 minutes, and then asked to leave before that time was even up. By then, our food had gone cold, and our drinks were diluted with rainwater, completely ruining the experience. It’s important for your staff to know how to handle situations like this. If it rains and you need to move guests indoors, there should be a clear plan in place. Simply because tables are reserved (but still empty) doesn’t mean guests should be left in a limbo. And it’s definitely not the time to argue with customers, further diminishing their experience. This experience was extremely disappointing. We came expecting a pleasant evening but left feeling disappointed and unwelcome.

A popular spot for drinks near Liverpool Street with pleasant surroundings, especially the decking area in good weather. However, our experience was underwhelming. I ordered the Bee Positive cocktail, which was neither refined nor balanced and arrived rushed after a long wait. The presentation was poor, indicating a lack of care. Service was disjointed. If you stand at the bar, you might get served quickly, but table orders can be painfully slow. One waitress, in particular, was notably rude, standing silently looking at us until we moved without any courtesy. The team seemed unmotivated overall. While the location is convenient and attracts a nice crowd, I won't be returning. There are better options nearby.

I usually really enjoy Devonshire terrace but probably would not return now. It's been a while since I've been there and the service was great, really friendly staff. My food was terrible though, burger was cold and tasted like it had been sitting around for ages. Ambiance was not amazing but it was Monday so that is to be expected, however considering it was so quiet I would have expected my food to have been fresh

I cannot share enough of all the goodness at Devonshire Terrace. The amazing atmosphere, the friendly staff, the delicious food, and the fabulous seating arrangements. I am hooked, and will come back over and over.

Staff: friendly Drinks: delicious! Food: reliant on the aesthetics of the bar and the strength of the cocktails to be passable. The rainbow salad looked like it had been regurgitated, the chicken burger was so over cooked I nearly broke a tooth, and they couldn’t seem to be bothered to prepare and present the tomato salad properly. The corn ribs were fabulous but 3 ribs for 4 people unfortunately doesn’t outweigh the lacklustre disappointment on a plate that we were served along with it.

If you are black… do not come here because there will make you feel like you need to leave. And the waiters are black too. We was given the bill 10 mins after receiving our 4 drinks and it was no way near done … Don’t come 🫶🏾 Mwahhhhh

Nice place, accommodating staff and good atmosphere but the food is not good. We both ordered the rainbow salad as a main. The portion size was small and frankly it was tasteless. I will go back but not to eat.

Tina was very attentive and really looked after us while we grabbed a bite for dinner. The food was amazing, the Barata & truffle tortellini was so creamy and delicious, British calamari and fries were crispy. Great food and great service all around.

Had my leaving drinks here. Staff was really accommodating and ambiance was great!

Buzzy place with decent bar food and drinks

Terrible food. A little tin of luke warm chips, and their vegan cauliflower bites snack which is £9 was just a tiny little saucer of cauliflower crumbs, they didn't even taste nice and they were tepid. I thought maybe they'd made a mistake and carried across somebody else's old plate - What kind of a place thinks it's okay to serve this? We paid £40 for one drink each and two pieces of absolute rubbish, we felt so foolish. But on a human level - people working in hospitality should take some pride in what they do, especially at this price. This place exists to rip off an after-work crowd, and not a cool one at that. We found a pub very nearby called The Magpie which was a lot better - go there - proper portions, hot food, reasonable prices and a better vibe. This place is tired mass produced "luxury", but has no character, I were fooled I think by the location which has the potential to be nice.

Umm, don't understand how this place has 4 stars it's the worst value I've ever seen. Poor service too wish I never went

Went here for drinks, the place had a nice atmosphere and the outside area large and is sheltered so is good if it’s raining.

This place is fab for leaving dos or parties overall. The best is the glass roof garden where a £10 deposit per guest is requested. It makes it affordable. Drinks and food package are great. Maybe not so sure about the mezze platter but the mini burgers, calamari rings etc were amazing! Service is spot on. Will defo go again.

Great place for drinks but a bit chilly!

I didn't eat just stopped for a couple of evening drinks the bar is tucked away in the corner and was really busy but there was plenty of seating. Loved the outdoor seating area, lots of cushions and fairy lights and nit overly loud so you can hear people talk. Drinks are an average price but the bar staff are very efficient and we were served very quickly.

Service was a bit standoffish and slow (especially for drinks). Food was good.

Food was good but didn’t get to really try the menu as I was taking part in an event. Service was below par.

Impulsively stopped for a light lunch as looked so inviting when passing. Efficient swift service , friendly enough. The 4 small plates we chose were definitely small , but tasty . Loved the interior, food was ok.

Devonshire Terrace is a good restaurant with a pub feel. Nice menu with good options for lunch and specials. Chicken burger was good.

If you are thinking of going for your Christmas party here - do not! From the get go, the staff were incredibly unhelpful and rude. I organised this for a work christmas lunch for 18 members of staff and pre-ordered our food and drinks - to which the events manager said we could change our chosen bottles of wine on the day if we felt like drinking something different. However when it got to the day we weren't allowed to swap our drinks and that same member of staff actually said that the conversation the day before "never happened". They made our experience difficult the entire time and it got even worse when the food came out...£23 for a Roast Dinner and we got this!!! (picture below) Extremely disappointing with the whole afternoon overall and we will never go back and waste our money on this again.

Okay, so my London office booked this for the London office Christmas party. I travelled from out of town to attend. What a disappointment! What is it with rip off Christmas? So, I started with the smoke salmon on what I think was supposed to be rye bread. The bread was so tough, a steak knife would have been helpful! I mean a really heavy duty steak knife! This dish had clearly been plated for hours before being served! Also, the smoked salmon was black and discoloured! Then I had the turkey. Not bad; although cranberry at the side would have been preferred; not dumped on top of the turkey! I then opted for the Panna cotta ; what a mistake! You could have broken a window with it! Considering this was supposed to be a Christmas event was lost on the owners! No atmosphere!! Also, they turned up the lights at 10:30pm like an old skool disco! Wow! Once again, Christmas party! Also, last orders at 10:30pm. So, if you’re thinking about hosting your Christmas party there; don’t!

Fun, loud and memorable night out at the Devonshire Terrace!!! We booked the bottomless brunch for £50 per person and it is 100% worth it! You get endless drinks throughout, one main (but very big and filling - I ordered the steak and eggs with chips) and anything else has an add on price. I also got a side of broccoli but I couldn’t finish it because I underestimated the size of the main! 😆😍 The music was very loud inside so not ideal for proper catchups, but everything else had perfect party vibes! It would be great if there was a dance floor to go with the live DJ playing! The food, service and atmosphere was nonetheless awesome. Thank you for a fab night ✨🪩🥩🍳🥗🥂

Went for drinks on a busy Saturday. Cocktails were fine, some thought has been put in to make them seasonal and a nice twist, but overall felt like nothing special. Food was ok, service was good considering how busy it was but nothing amazing.

Not the Devonshire problem but the wheelchair lift was not working and took 25 mins to be sorted. Fortunately we had arrived early so it was just FRUSTRATING. If you do need to use the wheelchair lift then make sure nobody has pressed in the red button on any of the 3 controls.

Good quality food and service. The place itself is quite big and there's plenty of seating available either inside or outside. The restaurant is well decorated with Christmas decorations. The outside area looked very nice and cosy, there are heaters by the tables and blankets are also provided. I would imagine this is very popular in the evenings. Overall it was a good experience and I would definitely recommend going here.

I came in to try the duck salad that my friend had recommended to me and it was honestly amazing, couldn’t have been better. Our server Daphne gave us incredible customer service as she explained everything to us and answered any questions that we had. Honestly couldn’t ask for anything better, 10/10 experience !!

Safe to say I won’t be coming back here again. The service was soo slow to the point of where I missed my train to go home. I had to chase up my 1 order of salmon 4 times until I said that I was rushing for a train that’s when it then came. There were multiple things that were slow when we would order. Why does it take 40mins for my one plate to come to the table?? Even after this when I was going and wanted to pay I decided to not pay the service charge because I l believe tips are earned and this time it wasn’t. So fast forward to when I’m about to leave and I asked Georgi (who was in a suit and appeared to be the manager) for a box for a takeaway and he said he’s bringing it. But because I knew at this point their service was slow I said I’d stand by the doors so that he can just pass it to me quickly and this man really went and rolledddd his eyes and shook his head at me as he was walking away to get it. I asked him what did I do to deserve that as I’ve not done anything expect ask for a box and he said yeah I’m getting you a box. Completely IGNORED the fact that I caught him giving me attitude and he refused to acknowledge it even after I asked him 3times why he was rolling his eyes. So I got no apology and no accountability was taken. I’ve actually never felt so annoyed for wasting my money in a place that doesn’t know what good customer service is or even just standard customer service. p.s , the food was okay but needs a lot of improvement. It lacked seasoning and there was no salt/pepper on our table of nine people.

I think the squash was off as it had funny taste. The atmosphere and service were good.

The establishment is very nice and the staff were exceptional. The DJ was also very good. I would highly recommend.

Not a great brunch at all, the food choice was not great, the food itself was awful, cold snotty eggs! Service was terrible, our plates were being taken whilst we were still trying to finish the meal, when we confronted the waitress she rolled her eyes! It was supposed to be bottomless yet we were constantly chasing for drinks. There was absolutely no atmosphere what so ever! I do NOT recommend this brunch! If Devonshire Terrace would like to learn how to do it, they should visit Skinny Kitchen who absolutely know how to organise a brunch. Would never visit again!

Had the best experience with the waiter!! he was so lovely. The entress and desserts were good. We'd be back for drinks and bar staff definitely!. The venue was really nice and was nice to have the blankets out side. All the staff were lovely from the host to bartenders, were really nice

Such a lovely spot there with a good aesthetic. But sadly the food and service really lets it down. The fish finger sandwich was £16.50 and I could have made better at home!! Wasn’t even worth £5. The restaurant was quiet but service slow, drinks orders wrong, coke and tonic were flat and sent back. Beer tasted like pipes were dirty. No condiments for our fries and had to wait for these after our food delivered… won’t be back

My best friend and I stayed at this hotel and we had the nicest experience. The room was perfect size, the staff were amazing, all receptionist and staff were super friendly, welcoming, fun and lively, extremely accommodating. The location of the hotel is perfect too, a few blocks away from Hyde park, shops and tube station. The area also felt very safe. Would definitely go back and stay again. Thank you!

On arrival, it was clear the staff were more interested in the imminent arrival of a large group. We were found a table, but after ordering some tap water while we made up our minds, we found the online ordering broken, and since the water hadn't arrived after 20 minutes we walked out. Very dissatisfied.

Prime city location of Devonshire. We joined at lunch hour. The manager had a little attitude problem when they misheard my colleague ask for recommendations on professional drinks (when they actually said refreshments). I confronted the manager on their inappropriate scoffing and body language and she then apologised. The food was pretty good, burger and chips. And location of the restaurant is pretty close to everything else, but tucked within a square of brickworked building so if you want views, this isn't the place, but they certainly made the best of the design and layout

Had drinks here previously and sat outside. Staff lovely, atmosphere good. Decided to eat here yesterday around 4.30pm so not busy peak time. Food disappointing - came up luke warm but kitchen couldn’t have been busy as not many people eating. Won’t be eating there again.

Visited for an event that was happening for Dalmatians doggos. It was absolutely fenomenal! They had great customer service and the location was very cosy and peaceful. Would recommend!

Third time visiting Devonshire Terrace on Saturday evening and the experience was unfortunately tainted by poor service (sadly this is becoming all too common in London, particularly during the Summer months where I get the sense patrons are assumed to be tourists and hence treated a bit more disposably). First, the good. Beautiful setting and a really nice looking venue. The 'outside' space is nice and open and perfect during the Summer. It is also uncover so very handy given the patchy weather we've had in London over the past few weeks. We came with a large group of approx. 15. We originally had planned to come with a group of 10, and the lady who handled our booking amendment over the phone was very pleasant and easy to deal with. She also gave us a spot outside which was perfect for our group. Drinks were good, cocktails also good. I personally didn't eat, but those in our group who did said the food was decent. Now, the not so good. We were given the option of table service or ordering at the bar for drinks which was handy. I opted to order from the bar as it was easier. When paying for my drinks, I was informed by the female bartender (at the bar inside) that the POS terminal was experiencing issues with Apple / Google Pay. After giving Apple Pay a go, this was not successful, and I had to try tapping another card, which also didn't work. I then had to go and grab my friend who inserted her card to pay for the drinks. During this encounter, the female bartender was incredibly rude - rolling her eyes, sighing, shaking her head and generally making me feel like this was all my fault, all over a small issue that was eventually fixed (the drinks were paid for). It wasn't like I was holding anyone else up from being served either (I was the only person at the bar). This is the first venue I have ever been to in London that does not a accept Apple Pay. I'm not having a go at the venue for this (and I certainly didn't in my interaction with the bartender) but to be treated so rudely for an issue that was ultimately the venue's is very disappointing. I understand that not everyone is always having the best day, but it's not acceptable to treat customers rudely. I go out in London quite a bit, because I think it's a fabulous city with some beautiful venues (this one included). But the impression (whether justified or not) I get from a lot of venues, particularly in the square mile, is that they are 'too good' for their patrons - why treat patrons well if we're always going to be fully booked and everyone is replaceable? I hope this review has been fair and constructive.

I visited on a Saturday lunchtime in mid July for the disco bottomless brunch. The venue was nicely decorated with a 'disco vibe' and there was a DJ playing throughout. It was very busy, predominantly with parties of females. The service was prompt and friendly, drinks kept coming, and the food was ok. We each had the fried chicken and waffle; the waffle was too sweet for our taste and we thought it would be better suited to a dessert rather than a main course, but I guess that's just down to personal taste/preference. There was a small problem with our bill at the end as we'd been charged for something we hadn't had, but this was rectified quickly. If you are looking for a bottomless brunch with a party atmosphere, this is a good choice.

Disco brunch was good fun, service for the food was pretty slow given we had ordered straight away and it wasn't a fully booked day. Food was good (wouldn't say great) but drink service was very quick meaning the bottomless element of brunch was very well covered.

Worse than average food , the steaks are over cooked ,the fish courses are undercooked and the chicken dry and hard ,curry came up cold ?was it ever cooked the person who ordered it did not eat it so we will never know .Poor customer service and so slow between courses.the only good thing is location and the deco was ok .Will never go back for seconds however 🤪

We bought a few clients for a dinner yesterday, and being honest I wasn’t impressed. The food was ok, although the waitress swiped the bread off the table before it was finished resulting in having to order another. My biggest issue was the state of the gents toilets. Honestly it was a disgrace and looked like something I’d expect to see at Glastonbury. Two of the urinals were overflowing onto the floor, two of the cubicles were blocked with a whole roll of toilet paper on the floor. Honestly shocking.

Not really set up to be a restaurant... Very noisy outside and fairly unfriendly/unhelpful/uninformed serving staff unfortunately. They were out of a few dishes at 7pm on a Wednesday night. Ultimately the food was fine (although the steak did arrive a bit overdone and the portion was pretty small) but the service was just a bit weird (e.g. trying to clear away our starters which we hadn't finished to make room for the main course plates...which we'd literally only just ordered and was not imminently arriving) and it was difficult to get their attention/find anyone to order from. If you're after a few drinks and a party vibe then it might be what you're after but I wouldn't recommend it for a dinner catch-up with a friend!

Made an impromptu visit with a friend, knowing that it would be lovely. It was a cool evening, but do take advantage of sitting outside in warmer weather. We had two platters of nibbles, and both had the salmon main course plus a nice bottle of rose for £45 each including service. Ashna was very attentive and provided good friendly service throughout our visit.

Visited for a private function. Very nice place, friendly staff and reasonably priced drinks for the area. The only food we had was buffet food but was decent stuff. Will likely go back as we didn’t get to experience the actual terrace which is a great spot in the summer.

A perfectly pleasant bar that does perfectly fine food and perfectly fine cocktails and drinks (food-wise the sticky toffee pudding is a bit of a stand-out). The staff are consistently polite and pleasant. Given all the choice available in London it probably wouldn't be my first choice but I also wouldn't be unhappy if someone else selected it as the venue for a meetup. One thing I would flag is that the "private rooms" are very much not private rooms but rather enclaves directly off of the main bar area with a decorative partition made of small hanging mirrors with gaps between that can be drawn across to generate the "feel" of a wall but one that doesn't provide any barrier from the sights and sounds of the main bar area.

Oh what a beautiful place. Went for pre dinner drinks on a very wet day. But that didn’t matter since the outside is covered. I had a cocktail and a glass of sparkly and fabulous is all I can say. The service was quick and we got our drinks within a few minutes.

We went for a friends lunch . I would imagine it ‘looks great’ outside in the evening . Portion sizes are a joke …..we all left hungry! Don’t bother…..we won’t go back. We’ve visited many ‘upmarket’ eateries in London so are able to make comparisons.

Definitely a very ‘Instagramble’ place outside . We went for a friends lunch and sat inside. Portion sizes are appalling . We had Salmon and Mash…..we all left starving 😂. I’ve been to many upmarket eateries in London to compare with , but will not return here. Give it a miss .

Nice place in Devonshire Sq, quirky decor and friendly service. Offered tasters of the cocktails which was a nice touch. Chosen cocktail was tasty and refreshing. The ham hock sandwich was really tasty, the ham was delicious and the mushrooms and strong cheese were good accompaniments, the chips were a disappointment though really bland and although mayo and ketchup brought out, these could have been significantly better, perhaps by using sea salt, or adding some spices in keeping with the sea theme

Food is ok but a bit overpriced

Friday Eve came here for food at 5.15 for a table for two as a walk in couple. Told to sit at bar, 1 hour and 15 and no one came to grab us.. I went to speak to the desk and advised there was a table for two currently occupied and to wait for them to go. We waited, and waited.. and then we left. Won't be back here again that's for sure. To be honest half the restaurant was empty and could have taken an empty reserved table for a quick hour and left however these tables remained empty during our stay and we were not offered a table during our stay here. Customer service 0/10 Good job guys! Bar man David, what a top guy! Super friendly, good laugh and expert cocktail maker. Would have rated this 0 stars if it wasn't for his company.

The food was not upto standard. The food was too greasy.

Arrived for a booking I had. Firstly was kept waiting at the point of arrival. I then actively went inside myself and found someone who showed me to my table. I then waited another 20 minutes to be served and nobody came. I had to again hunt someone down who then told me the outside gas heater next to my table wouldn't be turned on despite every other table having one on. I didnt bother staying to order drinks. Never going there again. Avoid!!!

I had a birthday party there, everyone asked how I found such a beautiful place! The service was of very high quality, the food very good, all of these in a cosy, classy environment✨✨✨ Do highly recommend it!

Spent a lovely evening here with colleagues. Very tasty food and a lovely menu. I had some cheese bites with cranberry jam and some seabass on sugarsnap peas and broccoli. The seabass was excellent.

All I can say is Thank you of an amazing fun time - I went to the disco brunch - my 1st ever brunch at the grand age of 55 ! along with some friends & my 2 daughters ( 6 in our group ) Food was delicious Drinks were served throughout ( no skimping at all ) service was excellent staff friendly ,& accommodating The music was perfect we danced our feet off ! some props as well which added to the fun , probably drank too much ! we were also allowed to stay a lot longer as our table was not booked out so we had a really lovely afternoon and early evening .staff were also happy to take lots of photos for us ! great atmosphere as well .

I enjoyed my time dining here, i felt the sirloin steak was a little too well done for medium rare but enjoyed it none the less. Tables solid, cutlery good and clean as is the tableware. Toilets clean staff helpful. Inside seating is comfortable but unfortunately gets a little loud with music for my preference (I'm audibly impaired), but otherwise its stylish. "Outside" despite being under glass cover and hidden away among the buildings is a little chilly, but there are complementary blankets, and space heaters that spit fire. I would visit again.

Work Xmas party. Good decor, staff were great, food not so much. Steaks were all cooked the same with no choice given, cheese board looked like a supermarket selection box.

recently visited as part of a group of 10 which was mean to be a group of 12 unfortunately on the day 2 people could not make it. We told the venue upon arrival about this and was told they were going to serve there food anyway. Whilst eating out meals the asked again if we could get the meal wrapped up as it is a waste, and was then given tin foil to wrap the food up ourselves, as they were insistant that they would serve the food anyway. after desert was served and finished the room the immediatedlt cleaned and we were tolf to take our drinks outside in the cold to finish off. Yes there are patio heaters but which were off and eventaully turned on after asking but this just added to the whole experience being rushed and not really that enjoyable. I understand it is xmas season and that bookings must of been hectic but this showed throughout the whole staff who we just churning people in and out as far as possible. as for the extra 2 meals that were spare we gave it away to a a homeless person instead. on route back to the station. As for the food itself it was lovely.

Such a cute place to celebrate my friend’s bday. Gf options were limited but I knew that going in as it was not my booking. However Gabrielle who I had spoken to prior was very on the ball and managed to get a gluten free chicken salad for me organised with the kitchen. It was the best tasting chicken salad I have had. I can’t give it 5 stars from the lack of gf options but the accommodating of gf was very good and when they brought mine out and said this is the gluten free chicken salad.

A very pretty and clean establishment (very 'Instagrammable', if you are the blogger sort) with a great vibe and a good range of drinks. Food wise if you have allergies or if you don't eat pork, you can't really eat much here, but for drinks and social it's great. Even when it was fairly busy, we were able to get service quite quickly. The bathroom was lovely and clean too, and stalls were stocked with toilet roll.

London Cocktail Week ‘22 surprise hit. Can a pub really make the best drink of the festival? The beetroot beauty has a superb balance, I’m truly amazed. This is a really excellent drink. Did not attempt to order food or any classic drinks, where I think we’d have tested their limits, but 5* well deserved for a stunning LCW serve.

Gorgeous backdrop and surroundings here. Food was good. Green coconut curry was authentic tasting and spicy. The rose' wine was very nice and we ate in a private dining room which made it very cosy. Would definitely come back.

Booked a table for 11 people for my 22nd birthday. We we’re given a very awkward table, rectangular, extremely big and wide, like for corporate meetings. It was also in such a corner of the place so didn’t get to see the beauty of the restaurant decor or atmosphere. The food was okay, and that is all. Nothing amazing, we all had starters which were small and lacking flavour ( except the pork bites, they were good). For nearly £9 each wasn’t great. The food did come quickly. the mains were bare, lacking seasoning. I had the venison pie, the meat was lovely, the gravy wasn’t thick, the mash really under seasoned, I had to put so much salt and pepper on and everyone did the same to their mains. I’ve had better pies at pubs, way bigger potions and richer flavour. Was such a shame as I had high hopes. My friends who got steak, was overdone when it should have been medium. I work in hospitality myself, in and around the area, they didn’t once ask if the food was okey or came to check back, so didn’t have a chance to say anything about the steak. Plus we had something booked for after dinner and couldn’t risk waiting for the mains again. After taking our food order, we were never checked back on, no offering of desert, had to get up and find someone to ask for a coffee. Again had to get up and find someone to ask for the bill. Further, it was my birthday, which was definitely noted on my booking, they didn’t give any special treatment for this or again no offer of desert. It could have been so much better! It’s definitely a cooperate drinks after work place, nothing worth spending your birthday for there. And the food is nothing amazing especially for the price. Definitely regret this one! Oh well.

Unexpected great surprise. Beetroot beauty is the best cocktail so far from my list of London cocktail week 22. It is not just a pub chain bar. Nice winter courtyard garden vibe. Staffs are very professional.
