Once again The Eagle Pub delivered great service, great food and a great atmosphere for my family get together. Meeting up with family from overseas in such a wonderful place really makes the day special. Thank you once again everyone at The Eagle Pub Kelvedon Hatch for making us feel so welcome. We’ll be back!!!!

A group of friends and ourselves met here for lunch, although trying to park the car was a nightmare, avoid Friday lunchtime! A selection of meals from sandwiches, lovely carved ham, prawn cocktails both said nice, a lovely looking prawn, smoked salmon, avocado salad, I was told was lovely and I opted for the skate middle, which was small but nice. As always the pub was busy, with efficient service and we all had a good time

Last minute mid-week lunch after a walk with the dog. Called ahead to check lunch serving times. Was told we needed to order by 2.50 at the latest. On arrival at 2.40 we quickly placed our order. After about 20 minutes a member of staff came to our table to say that the liver and bacon was deemed unsatisfactory quality by the chef and we had the option to change; although the lasagne was ready to be served. Decided to continue with original order due to not wishing to eat at different times or have one meal cold. Staff went back to the kitchen to then return to say the chef was not prepared to serve the liver. At this point we were told to reorder an alternative. Staff suggested sausages and mash. I asked how long it would take and was told not long. Five minutes later both meals arrived. The lasagne and garlic bread were cold. As were the garlic mushrooms ordered as a side. These were sent back and returned… hot but dry as a bone. I made it known and was refunded for the lasagne although at this point the whole eating experience was disastrous, which is a shame as it seems a lovely little pub. I certainly will not return nor recommend based on this experience.

Maybe the chef was off sick but if you like charcoal, this was definitely the place to be!
