Food is lovely, decor inside is very impressive. Staff were friendly but seemed a little pre-occupied. Quiet, not much atmosphere. Bit messy outside (loads of discarded fridges?) but don't let that put you off.

First visit. Excellent food, lovely staff. Chaotic service. Felt like they’d taken too many bookings for such a busy day of the year. There was a large table of customers celebrating a wedding which appeared to take priority over the rest of the bookings. The table ran over it’s reservation slot by a considerable amount of time and it was needed for another large party of people. The large party of people were stood at the door waiting for the wedding party to finish so they could be seated at the table they’d booked. The staff were rushed off their feet. We had to wait quite a long time between courses so the service suffered a bit. The reason why we had to wait quite a while for our food was because we hadn’t pre ordered it. When we first arrived they asked whether we’d pre ordered. We hadn’t. They said we should’ve been contacted regarding our pre order. We hadn’t. All we’d been asked to do was pay a cash deposit which we did a few weeks before. When we paid the deposit we was told it would be cash only on Christmas Day. Not sure why because it’s not a cash only restaurant. The Christmas meal was a set menu at £30 per head. Wasn’t told there would be a service charge for our table of 5 when we paid the deposit and wasn’t told Naan bread isn’t included in the set price. £30 per head is fantastic value on Christmas Day without a doubt but staff should explain the extras when the deposits were paid and they should’ve explained we needed to pre order our food. With it being cash only we didn’t have enough cash on us to cover the entire bill due to the extra charges so we had to pay part card. The staff member pulled his face but if it’s cash only customers can’t always predict their total spend on the day. We were seated in a booth that fits 4 people not 5 people so nowhere near enough space to sit comfortably. It was a tight fit. With hindsight I think we should’ve part payed the service charge due to being seated on a table that only fits 4 people maximum. They didn’t have any red wine sold by the glass either which is unusual for a restaurant. Overall the food was fantastic but the lack of communication from staff up front at point of booking let it down. Being charged for service when we had to wait ages for our food to arrive (due to their error) while being seated on a table that didn’t fit the right amount of people also let it down. They did offer us a free round of drinks during our meal to compensate for our food being slow to arrive but we’d just bought more drinks when they offered and they never came back to give us the free drinks they’d promised. They didn’t offer to knock any drinks off our bill when we settled the bill.

I am a european who loves chicken biryani. I’ve eaten the dish everywhere in Bolton and last night I’ve decided to give a go to CCN too. I didn’t have time even to breathe, was perfect and far the best one ive eaten in Bolton in lăsat 5 years. Huge portion just for me and I was full halfway but I couldn’t stop until I’ve finished, taste, presentation, and those lovely yoghurt /mint sauces made my day. That’s a 5 out of 5. My favourite restaurant for biryanis from now on!

Thira Restaurant is a hidden gem for lovers of authentic South Indian cuisine. The menu offers a wide range of dishes, with a focus on Kerala flavors, including mouthwatering curries, dosas, and seafood specialties. The spices and flavors are perfectly balanced, and everything tastes fresh and homemade. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, making it an excellent choice for both intimate dinners and family gatherings. The staff are attentive, friendly, and happy to recommend dishes if you’re new to the cuisine. Prices are reasonable for the quality and portion sizes, and the overall dining experience feels thoughtful and authentic. Thira Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone looking to explore the vibrant flavors of South India.

Have just come back from our Christmas Day meal. Unfortunately it was totally unorganised and we feel let down by the whole day. We were booked in at 3pm, a table of 12 and had paid a deposit. The restaurant, for whatever reason, didn’t keep tabs of who had paid their deposits so unless you had kept your receipt as proof they probably wouldn’t have known! We were made to stand outside for 20 minutes as we were told the 1pm sitting hadn’t finished, luckily it wasn’t raining or this would have been even more of a downer. We sat down about 3.25pm and weren’t given our starters till gone 4pm, we were clock watching as we knew they had a 5pm sitting. We had only just received our main courses when the 5pm sitting arrived and there was grumbling and some arguments occurring between those already seated and those waiting. It was 5.30pm when we were asked if we could do them a ‘favour’ and get our desserts to go?! Rather than sit at the table and eat them. Bearing in mind we had paid for a set menu. Having been so let down with the whole experience we paid and left without desserts. Per adult the day, including deposit was around £40. Which for a starter and main and an option for a dessert ‘to go’ left everyone stressed, flustered and rushed. It can’t have been their first year hosting Christmas so unsure why it felt so disorganised. Have given it a 2* instead of a 1 purely down to when you do get the food it is nice but unfortunately I wouldn’t pay for that experience again and hope they change it in years to come.

Friendly staff and a warm welcome. Didn't have to wait long for the food and there was a lot of food to share in the meal for four. The starters and popadoms and chutneys were authentic and the mains were tasty and spicy but not too spicy. Would definately eat here again.

We’ve just had an amazing Christmas Day curry from Bengal! Such great service, from ordering our pre-order, to the speedy and timely delivery and the overall taste! Can’t recommend them enough!
