Really good food. Been going here for years. Definitely recommend. Prices are reasonable too.

Reasonable price. Service may be slow when busy. Don't buy pre cooked dishes as these may be days old. TakaTakk was awesome. Tawa was enough for 2 to 3 people.

Overeated on the name of Desu..I tried their jalfrezi but not so special only spices.

Mixed taka tak and bheja was very nice and in grill chops and boti was amazing. Kebab was little low in taste.

From healthy hearty food to good soul food, Desi Express has it and is THE place to go. From a very young age, I’ve been coming here to eat and it’s beautiful to see how the people working there, the food and the interior has progressed. I am both enamoured and impressed with the devotion that the staff have to their work and the service they provide. For me, as a mixed desi Asian I have attended many food places that try to really conceptualise and deliver traditional food. It also makes me someone who is very particular about what she likes and she knows her stuff. However, nowhere holds a place in my heart like Desi Express.

Worst type of food. Unhygienic and tasteless. Had a takeaway, found 5 hairs in the Dal makhni. Had to throw it all away. Avoid going there at all cost unless you like finding hairs in random slices of naan or dal or currys

Chicken Takatak is awesome. Noisy and crowded inside, almost like being in a restaurant in the Indian subcontinent. Extremely limited veg options.

We go get some chicken curry and plain naan. Naan was fresh and made to order and very good. However, the staff who are cooking are absolutely disgusting. Me and my friends were literally looking at them and they dropped a whole plate of uncooked wings on the floor, picked it up using bare hands, put it back on the plate and took a few to grill. Absolutely disgusting, they saw us look at it and just laughed about it and didn’t care at all. I cannot imagine what kinda process they must be doing being the kitchen. We left even without taking our food even though we had paid.

4/5 men serving behind the counter no uniforms or gloves were worn, the side order of chips and biryani rice was very disappointing, the chips was not freshly cooked and looked awful, the rice smelt and tasted stale 🥺

Had junk food. Very low level. Didn’t get what was ordered. Fish out of date. And infront of us whole chicken tray fell down on floor he picked up and put again in tray. By 3 customers we asked mate what are tou doing he just smiled and carried on. And replied me if you don’t like food or way we work pay and leave

Amazing food cheapest in. Nottinghamshire. Thanks Google for showing us this place kids love it I love it and wife triple time loves it because she doesn't need to cook for the night lol. Could do with more seating area as we live 50 miles away Lincoln so was disappointed last time turned uo for iftaar and no tables left so had to go home hungry 50 miles again.

We ordered multiple starters and mixed grills ... they were delicious 😋. Chicken handi and mixed lentil daal was okiesh. It is on the main road with no parking, we parked in nearest Morrison and walked to the restaurant. Staff wasn't much attentive if you needed something... had to wait for someone to notice you.

The food here is just amazing. Authentic Pakistani dishes cooked superbly. We had chicken wings and lamb chops from the grill and a mixture of chicken curry lamb palak and daal mash. Would recommend this place to anyone.

A good place to grab Pakistani food, their BBQ is the best. They take cash payments only so when you go it’s advisable to get some cash with you. You might face difficulties with parking as well.

Stale food, rubbery kebabs, unnecessarily generous helpings of dried corriander, uncomfortable seating. Don't waste money go to Greggs.

My husbands favourite desi restaurant in Nottingham, can't disagree, food is always fresh & tasty, great customer service every time.

We travelled all the way from Birmingham, place is small but the food is amazing, we absolutely loved the food, lamb chops, grilled fish and chicken curry, we had to order more lamps, and they served us warm jalibii with tea, staff went out of there way for us, amazing lil place

Lamb curry tastes old they put nasty red sauce in it they leave onions and tomatoes ginger and garlic inside curry. Not home style at all, they should make fresh curry with no sauce in it. The curry is always red looking if you Want this nasty curry you will be getting food poisoning !

The food tastes homely. The portions are awesome and with each bowl of curry they give u roti without any extra charge which is kind of awesome and pocket friendly. The only problem is they dont accept cards so make sure u take cash with you while you are planning to visit them.

Been passed this restaurant a few times and it’s always looked busy. Our usual was off limits so we thought we’d give this a try. Ordered a standard chicken curry, chips and roti. Service was prompt, food was (too) hot and chips were freshly cooked. Tasted average. Overall experience was ok - the place is busy so food must be good. Price was cheap. Possibly try again.

Fantastic place to eat pakistani taste food.

It is a nice Asian restaurant which is affordable and we can enjoy tastiest nonveg recipes. Moreover, their service is customer oriented and excellent. Only thing you have to wait for a little time for ordered dishes since they process fresh items.

Good Desi taste with economic budget

Lamb chops and the tak-a-tak used to be signature dishes. Now very average at best. Not sure if the chefs have changed but very disappointed in the flavours this time around.

If your constipated then get a curry from here. Problem solved.

Was passing through, needed a traditional desi curry hard to find find during this COVID19 time. Went for a lamb curry, and it was bang on! Fresh rotis and nan to go with it. Delicious, nice and spicy to point it didn't distract from the flavours. Great service, and fantastic value for money. Puts expensive restaurants to shame. Highly recommended. Only issue was parking, but once you get that sorted your good.

Good environment following distances due to covid-19. After taking our seats we order for Katta kat/ Taka tak mix and full chrgha. Being hunry and tired due to full day visit to Abraham Heights. Staff served food within half an hour. Food was delicious we all enjoyed it. After all we asked for tea. Tea was also good.

Got recommended to come to Desi Express, by a friend. Came all the way from London and the customer service was shambolic! Worst customer service I have ever received. The waiters were extremely rude and ignorant. They also ignored us multiple times, when we wanted to place an order and then after 20 minutes, he even got our order wrong!! Do not recommend this place to anyone. Stay home and eat. Save your money.

Recently refurbished, more space for seating and most importantly comfortable chairs that won’t break your back. The food is great for the price point. The food is quite oily unless you specifically request them not to make it oily which is a good thing. However, I discovered that the quality of the food can be substandard occasionally with cartilages left in the meat which isn’t pleasant at all. Generally, the food is good and I have found the standards to improve gradually over the years. The naan bread is better than before and the standard of service is becoming better.

BEST PAKISTANI FOOD IN NOTTINGHAM Taka tak, lamb chops,BBQ, Chargha, tarka daal , kebabs, biryani and naans are all absolutely amazing. The place has the most authentic desi food I have had in Nottingham without being overly creamy or spicy like most desi restaurants. The prices are fantastic, and the service is excellent.

Genuine Asian food - no tikka masala here

Total Disappointment this time, We order for Two chicken and two lamb Kebab, they serve all chicken kebab, then he gave us one lamb kebab which is not even cooked. then we have been overcharged ripoff, Chicken Taka tak 5.50 x2 = £11.00 Chicken Kebbab 1.00 x6 = £6.00 Lamb Kebab 1.20 x1 = £1.20 Roti 0.60 x 4 =£2.40 Nan 1.00 x1 = £1.00 Total =£21.60 But he charge us £25, (We paid) so Advice to all customers please check your bill before you pay and ask for bill rather then verbal bill.

Food is good but place is bit small to eat in. Takatak is quite good and food made right in front of you.

Comida familiar, todo en 23, la chuleta de cordero a la parrilla estaba un poco seca, pero era una comida excelente, optando por arroz especiado en lugar de papas fritas. Dos curries, una selección de pan y carnes a la brasa.

¡No creo que haya comido mejor comida que esta en mi vida! Es realmente así de bueno. Fantástico servicio también. Teníamos samosas tikka de cordero, carne y espinacas, chuletas de cordero, chapatis de arroz integral. Quería todo lo que pudiera ver. Es un viaje de 60 millas de ida y vuelta para mí, pero mi dios lo merece. Y menos de 20. Si alguna vez gira cerca de Nottingham hagas lo que hagas comer aquí.
