It's got a different name now but still a cracking meal . Lovely young family now run the place and the food is superb. We had starters main and pudding plus poppadoms came to under 50quid .

I am lucky enough to have been 'adopted' by a Bangladeshi family through my prolonged trips to that colourful, wonderful country. My 'Mum' and sisters-in-law there are fantastic cooks and I really miss the quisine. I can honestly say that 'Desh' offer top quality dishes with authentic flavours backed up by rich, mouth-watering aromas. When I close my eyes and taste their offerings, I could almost be back on the roof of my Bangladeshi family's house... hearing the bustle of the busy market village below, and the unmistakable, haunting chant of the Mosque drifting through the warm, still evening air.... difficult to describe to one who has not been there!!! However, I digress. The food is the most authentic I've tasted West of Dhaka, and the staff are warm, welcoming and exude the natural friendliness of their countrymen back home. I would recommend this little place as a gem to eat in or takeaway. The restaurant is not licensed, but you are welcome to take your own beverages and there is no charge for corkage. Go!!! Went for a meal Boxing Day first time eaten in usually have take away but unfortunately bad experience very cold and dreary in the eating area ... never took our coats off although only ones in felt rushed ... last take away we got some parts of order missing we called and was told to go back by which time other food would have been cold ... two bad experiences in the trot not sure we would go back now!

Went here for a meal out with my partner and the food was very good and very well priced ' the atmosphere however is very cold there is no pleasentness no warmth upon greeting and although they ask if your food is suitable that's conversation over. The eating area is also very cold so wear a jumper ..

I was brought here a few months back for a big milestone birthday, Love it,, I recently had a two occassions when i was on my own on a couple of occasions, I made my way here for my evening meal both times.. very relaxing and enjoyable.. Will be back soon

Party of ten for a birthday celebration were well looked after.Strange turning up with your own drinks but the evening went off without a hitch.The food was good and well presented and enjoyed by all and will certainly be calling sgain

Moved to the area about three weeks ago and had the need for curry.What a fantastic meal from here.Got a pickle tray, chicken tikka passanda, garlic chilli chicken, special rice, two poppadoms and two chappatis.The full lot cost me £20.Plenty of taste, just the right amount of heat.Loved it.!!I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family and I will be back soon

We had an very tasty takeaway meal this evening. The chicken tikka balti with vegetable pilau and chapatis was gorgeous! We also had poppadoms and pickles/chutney which were excellent. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Would recommend.

Visited this evening with my family to treat them to dinner. We had lovely main courses, excellent naan and rice and were able to bring our own alcohol. Used our tastecard for a discount and this meant the price was unbelievably good value. The restaurant was really quiet but we enjoyed it a lot and will definitely return

Since Desh opened in Market Weighton, we have always bought our takeaway from them and been very happy with both the quality and the price with the 15% discount.Tonight, we couldn’t find the menu so checked online to order. When we found out you could take you own drinks, we thought why don’t we just have a meal. Great decision.Small 24 cover restraunt with ethnic music, lovely staff and very hot excellent food.

We enjoy going here often and find that the Sunday (and Thursday night) buffet is great value for money. It’s worth noting that it’s a non licensed premises so make sure you take your own alcohol.

Whilst the actual restaurant decor basic but it does lack a little ambience to be honest, but what it lacks there it makes up for in great food and service. I think food wise its one of the best for flavour you can find, and we enjoy being able to bring our own beer or wine if we want too. As they dont rely on alcohol mark ups the food quality has to be be good to get you back and it is. The team are always helpful and attentive too.

Since the Desh naan kebab was recommended by friends, we would not get a kebab from anywhere else! We thought that we would try the restaurant tonight and we were not disappointed! The service and the food was amazing and an absolute bargain! You can bring your own drinks too!! Desh, Desh, DESH!!!!!

Before Desh became Desh I always used to get chicken tikka masala, until I saw the Malayan. I haven’t stopped getting it since and it never lets me down.

My friend I visited Desh last night and ate in the restaurant choosing the 5 course banquet meal which is available on Sundays and Thursdays. At £9.95 each it represented excellent value and the portion sizes were huge! There was no atmosphere in the restaurant as surprisingly there was just us and one other table occupied. This didn’t spoil our enjoyment of the night due to the tasty, cheap food and being able to hold a conversation without having to shout and worry that someone might be ‘ear wigging’ !! Overall we had a great night and would recommend and re-visit in the future. I’ve just enjoyed the leftovers for my supper! :-)

Had several Take Away meals from here, always Hot, and Full of Flavour. Staff very Friendly, making us feel special every time we go. Shame they don't have a drinks licence, as it would be nice to have a Pint of Cobra etc, while I waited. However, if you sit in, you can take your own alcohol with you. Certainly, the Best Indian Restaurant for miles around. Give it a try!!

Have had several takeaways from here from lamb bhuna to special kebab and every meal has been to a high standard! Highly recommended.

Apparently the advertised 15% off takeaway orders doesn't count on set meals a fact you are not made aware of until you go to collect your meal. In fairness the starter was very good unfortunately the psychodelic Korma and tikka masala with next to no chicken left the the whole experience to be a very disappointing and not one to be repeated.

Only ever had food to take away as it’s just easier for me but every take out we have ever had has been great.

Bought a selection on Indian starters and there was no taste of Indian. The food was severely lacking in spice and taste. I have brought the supermarket ones for £2.25 and they are far superior to these at £8.00. I won’t bother again.

Tried this restaurant for a take away and was not disappointed. All the dishes we ordered were tasty and of good quality. Would definitely order again. Only gripe was that I had to wait 10 minutes for my food despite arriving after the given time. It was Saturday night though so can be forgiven. Recommended!

Food was nice but portions very small.Service was a little over attentive and then when we needed the waiter he was nowhere to be seen.

A lovely, cosy restaurant with a very attentive owner. Food was delicious, nothing was too much trouble and it was refreshing to find an owner genuinely interested in his customers. Great that you can take your own wine. Only my second visit but certainly won't be the last.

I have visited on a few occasions and had takeaway probably too often for the waistline. The staff are lovely and make you feel like a true valued customer. Having lived in Bradford for 10 years I have had a lot of very good curry. Desh is up with the best. They do some nice fish dishes and the usual favourites are fresh and tasty.

Having eaten before decided to bring the kids for a family get together, went for the Sunday buffet prior to our holiday.

Ordered a take away from here tonight. I am on a very low carb diet for health reasons and ordered a veg curry which said it contained aubergine, cauliflower and orca. I received a veg curry which was full of carrots and potatoes, neither of which I can eat. I wouldn't have ordered this as I couldn't eat it. The tandoori chicken was good. Just a shame I couldn't have mine.

Lovely food and lovely people. The buffet on Sunday and Thursdays are great value. Recently refurbished. No one else in the restaurant which was a pity as great food.

It's just simply excellent value for money with tasty freshly cook food. Just a note to those that are not aware. the restaurant is not licenced but they seem happy for you to bring our own alcohol to consume with your meal

Enjoyed a nice evening here on Saturday. The food was nice - loved the naan bread .felt a bit weird taking your own wine but it really made a difference in the price .nice little dinning area too

Just had a fabulous meal at DESH. Service was attentive & professional, the atmosphere welcoming & the food superb. Some really interesting menu options & staff are willing to change things up to suit you. A lovely local restaurant. We come up from London to visit family & will be making this a regular stopping point! Thoroughly recommended.

We ordered a takeaway meal and were very impressed with the dishes ordered, the service and the price

We ordered a takeaway meal at the weekend as we had family staying. The total bill was £50. On arriving home we discovered that one of the main dishes was missing. This meant that we had to put the rest in the oven to keep hot while we waited for them to deliver the missing dish. We gave up waiting after 30 minutes and the rest of us started eating our meal. After a 40 minute wait (we are literally 2 minutes down the road from the shop) the curry arrived, in no fit state to be eaten. Would you like to eat a chicken curry which had been sitting in a car for more than 30 minutes? So the meal was ruined for us all, and my relatives, who were visiting from Australia and had looked forward to a good old British style Indian takeaway, had to make do with the side dishes. I called the shop and requested a refund. I was told I could have the whole meal for free next time I went in, but if I asked for a refund he would lose his job when the boss found out. I agree with a previous reviewer- these are devious people. We will never use Desh again, as they made no attempt to compensate us for their error. I see that as dishonest. I would advise others to go to the alternative Indian restaurant down the road.

Food here was fantastic. Didn't realise you can take your own alcohol. The Sunday meal deal is a winner both price and taste!

Absolutely delicious food, nice atmosphere, very good prices and a lovely friendly owner who took time to explain the different dishes to us. I was dining with 5 friends and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals.

We called in for a quick bite thinking this was still Weighton Spice. We received a warm welcome and an explanation that there had been a change of ownership in January 2017. Not knowing what to expect we were pleasantly surprised to enjoy an excellent meal with very attentive service and very enjoyable food at reasonable prices. There is a 'bring your own wine' policy so that the restaurant can concentrate on the high quality of the food presented. Will return!

We've visited twice now and both on occasions where very happy with the food and pleasantly surprised at the cost. Been able to take your own drinks certainly helps keep your costs down if on a tight budget.

Brilliant food and very good service. I really loved it until it came to paying the bill. I was told that cash would be better as there was a charge for using my card. We had only notes, with smallest denomination being ten pounds, as we'd already left a tip on the table. When I handed the cash over there was a long wait, presumably to see if I would leave the change. When I quietly waited for my change, the gentleman taking payment noticed that there was, miraculously, no change in the till. On a Saturday at 9pm...yeah right. It was an obvious ploy.

Had an early dinner didn't realise they have an offer on Thursdays and Sunday's fir a tenner .

went to eat with the family and everything was good! Food was delicious and the service was really good. Will be coming back again. The prices was cheap and this is probably one of the best restaurants I've been to! Highly recommend everyone to pay a visit to the restaurant.

We ordered a takeaway and was told 25 minutes, we ended up waiting nearly an hour even though it was very quiet, when we got the takeaway home the onion bhajis were burnt and the curry was watery.

Very good food. Reasonable price of mouth watering dishes . Good place for day out. Sunday and Thursday banquet night. Very good to come out with family and friends to enjoy the contemporary Bangladeshi and Indian cuisine.
