Amazing performance! Will definitely visit again soon.

The perfect place for deeply emotional, enthralling, immersive theatre that keeps you involved, and lets you hear a pin-drop in the dramatic moments. The design is great with no pillars, perfect views, decent leg room, and comfy seats. Toilets and bar amenities are accessible, clearly signposted, spacious, clean, well-kept, and well-run. The team here go out of their way to listen to your needs and be helpful at every turn. Jasmine was especially helpful with an accessibility issue so I'm really grateful for that too. All round a fab theatre that shows many a London theatre how to do it. I'll be going back as a often as I can.

I really enjoyed Of Mice and Men. It's obviously not a very cheery story, but it was well acted and the friendship between Lennie and George was beautifully portrayed.

Fantastic venue . I require/use hearing aids .no need for audio loop sounds and acoustics top class. Parking accessible and reasonably priced

Good accessibility for wheelchair users, the theatre has always been warm and comfortable. Staff have always been helpful and accommodating. You can book online or over the phone with ease. Planning on returning for a comedy show....

Saw Christmas Carol, it was absolutely amazing and the cast were unbelievable. Were it not at the end of its run, we would have gone again!

Went to see A Christmas Carol on 4/1/25. Great production, great actors and a brilliant performance. The theatre is clean and the staff are friendly.

This is a lovely small/medium theatre over one floor. This means all seats have a good view of the stage and legroom is very good. The cafe bar is a typical cafe, with a small number of seats. Multi story car park is next door. Good access for wheel chairs. We saw A Christmas Carol here and thoroughly enjoyed the production.

I went to see A Christmas Carol. I have seen many versions of this story over the years...from the RSC with Ade Edmondson to one with a cast of 3 doing all the parts but this has to be one of the best! Firstly the music from the very outset was magical with live musicians jigging and dancing but also playing a part in setting the mood of the scene. The set was wonderful and imaginative and worked well in every scene. All the actors were believable and played all their part with equal enthusiasm ...the children were so professional and natural. But the part that took me the most was where Belle give Scrooge his ring back ...you could have heard a pin drop in the audience it was so moving and captivating! So ...if you want an evening of the best local entertainment...go to Derby Theatre and see A Cristmas Carol, you'll love it.

A Christmas Carol, December 2024. Excellent production. Rrally enjoyed it. Clever set design and musicians playing and acting. Really well thought out and brilliantly executed. Highky reccomend. Venue itself is great. Modern, great view, intimate venue and great sound and lighting too. In a rush when areived so didnt.viait bar or cafe but.looked very nice.

Serve excellent food well worth a visit for snacks etc

Went to see Christmas Carol and was just a wonderful experience. Wonderful production. Would really recommend this and the theatre too. Was first time at this theatre, so didn’t quite know what to expect. Loved it though.

Went there on Saturday to see Christmas Carol. It was magical. I loved the set. Music was great, and the actors did a great job! Highly recommend!

Went to see the Phantom of the Opera production tonight. It was amazing!! I haven't cried at a Phantom performance like that since my first West end one (seen it in westend 5 times, Broadway once). The actor for Phantom and Carlotta were mind blowing!!! And the instrumental artists were spot on!!! Thank you so much, amazing night, you could've charged 3 times atleast for that x

Great show, smallish theatre, so great view wherever you sit. Bar upstairs and good coffee shop downstairs open before, during, and after the show.

Great place to visit, providing there is something you want to see. The sets are brilliant. Very organised staff working there.

Visited Derby Theatre to see Our Dementia Choir - fantastic evening with the choir sing a number of songs supported by Derby City concert Orchestra. All in all a good experience.

Best show for ages they all put a lot of fun and effort into it.

Seats comfortable with plenty of leg room

It’s funny you have to remember, some of the smaller theatres can having extremely good productions. Derby is one of those, always something good coming up, nice staff. Great place just to sit waiting for the bell. When you add easy parking and decent seating it’s hard to find a problem.

Took the granddaughters here a couple of years ago and was really good, really enjoyed it. Now I parked in the car park under the theatre and walked past the front doors and Google maps think I visited, can't give an accurate comment.

Fantastic theatre space. Right in the centre of the city, with easy access from Derbion meaning both the theatre and a wide array of restaurants are very close together. A very wide range of performances are available here, from family friendly shows to thought provoking local plays are available both here and at the Studio. An invaluable cultural resource.

Going to a small independent theater doing short productions is a good evening plan. Never disappointed by the entertainment here. It has a friendly warm atmosphere, if you can make it to a show, give it a go.

Clean, good cafe, good toilets, great seating area with bar. All seats in the theatre have a good view of the stage. Parking in shopping centre next door.

An amazing place with two theatres within. In addition to the main auditorium, there is also a smaller studio theatre for smaller performances. My only criticism is the relative lack of publicity offered to the studio theatre productions.

First class performance. I went with two adult daughters and four grandchildren and we all thoroughly enjoyed Alice in Wonderland

Lovely theatre. Lots of leg room and good visibility of stage from all seats. Saw a really interesting take on Alice in Wonderland. Really accessible with signing and captions. The cast was incredibly diverse - great production!!

Excellent show, Only advice would be Buy your drinks and snacks before you go in as prices are a tad on the steep side.

The theatre it's self is a beautiful little venue. With a fantastic and diverse selection of performances. The bar is well stocked and not too expensive and the staff are always helpful and professional

The product of Brassed Off was brilliant, the only minor issue was that the coffee shop downstairs was very busy with people standing around whilst the upstairs seating area was closed until a short time before the production started. It would be a much better experience for people if the upstairs seating area was made available earlier during busy times. However, the coffee there is always good.

What a theatre 🎥 this place is fit for a king 🤴 Had a lovely cup of Yorkshire tea in the caff then took a tour, absolutely beautiful, just need to get some decent shows on board to get Derby back on that map!

It's definitely a little favorite of mine , quirky! And they sold those individual foil wrapped creamy marshmallows! Lovely outside on a warm summers evening,but insides great too . Lovely bar lady .

Great time was had by all. Seats are comfy enough for an hour or so. Has a lift if ya need one. Spacious enough for your legs.

Lovely little venue tucked away in the shopping centre. Would recommend to all to visit at least once.

I always enjoy going to our local Derby Theatre ,had such an uplifting night of songs and dance ,we watched The Dreamboat Stars we thoroughly enjoyed ,the only criticism I have it was very loud it didn't need to be as they were all great singers and performers.lookforward to the next time I visit .

Dreamboat Stars was excellent. Could have done without the question and answer session, and a bit more singing, especially some older musicals.

We often have our drinks here with a bit of cake prior to a show. It is also open during the day so a nice plan to stop, slightly off the beaten track in the shopping centre.

Went to see school of scandal. Firstly we had a coffee in the cafe asked for 2 lattes to take into the theatre (paper cups) they came in a cup and saucer and were very small and half full of froth . The coffee was also cold I took mine back and asked for hot milk to be added a touch was added but it still was cold and a lot of froth very disappointing for the price. The actually show was the least funny comedy I have ever seen , I couldn’t hear some of the actors and they were speaking very fast. This said the actual acting of the cast was very good but the script was terrible, a lot of people walked out after the first act we sat it out but honestly felt it was a waste of good money

The production of A Christmas Carol was superb. Well done to all concerned. Another trip to an excellent production at Derby Theatre. One other bonus to mention is the legroom compared to older theatres, making the evening a more comfortable experience.

Lovely venue. We went to see Sherlock Holmes. Would highly recommend. Will definitely be returning.

Great production of Animal Farm.

I am in a wheelchair and need a companion so I applied through their website and got my free carer space. The theatre has disabled toilets, lifts and the staff were brilliant, all very helpful. Would definitely visit again. We went to see Flying High which is a gang show put on by Guides, Brownies, Cubs, Scouts and their leaders from Derby and it was really good. Would definitely recommend the theatre and the show.

Warm welcome not extortionate prices. Affordable for all. Animal Farm is a must.

Arrived at Derbion centre and went for food in the food court very expensive and all upf food bit of a let down then took granddaughter to the theatre and realised they did wholesome food and drinks go there instead, went to see zoo land and it was packed the kids loved it great theatre and atmosphere worth going. X

Absolutely brilliant. We saw Geoff Norcott live. Fantastic. We had a couple of glasses of wine and it was very well kept. Great help from all of the staff

Great evening with Our Dementia Choir in an excellent venue

I haven't been to Derby Theatre for a few years , but the only criticism I would have with it is it should have an Ilse down the middle , wouldn't like to be sat in the middle if there was a fire .

Lovely theatre. Wherever you sit, you have an excellent view of the stage. Comfortable seats with plenty of leg room and a wide variety of entertainment delivered

Staff were good. Just not use to dealing with the press.

Saw Rapunzel today with my 7 year old granddaughter, most mesmerising show I've seen for a long time. Came away with tears of joy, at such a stunning performance. Looking for where this is shown again in the UK. X

Took my sister and brother in law as a surprise birthday gift to watch 12 Angry Men, excellent production we all really enjoyed it, easy for parking mental note made for next time for easier departure. It's the first time I've visited in many years, I shall make sure i don't leave it so long in future, plenty of leg room conformable seats, friendly staff, what more could you ask?

Great venue and an enjoyable play

Really enjoyed the performance of 12 Angry Men. The theatre itself is lovely. Just wish there was more legroom so could be more comfortable with joint issues and having to keep struggling up to let people by. Staff always seem lovely and polite. Cafe was closed though.

Great theatre, central good atmosphere and cracking play Murder in the Dark. Full the theatre and lovely to see

Friendly staff, very helpful. Went to see an afternoon, children's performance so was a bit noisy but this was teachers/parents fault not theatre. Would Def go back. Only downfall for us was the disabled toilet access, it was very tight and also the baby change so there was a queue which added more stress to the situation .

The sound system needs a big upgrade. The cast weren't 'mic'd' up and quite difficult to hear. I am.not hard of hearkng normally.

Went to Derby Theatre last night to watch Murder in the Dark. It was really good, made you think all the way through, twisted ending. Made the night even better by meeting Tom Chambers who is really approachable, signed my booklet and we talked about Father Brown as I love his character. So, great night, great seats, great players. Many thanks Tom for making the night special, it is well worth watching.
