Costa Coffee in Derby

Morning 8:30 am. Costa in Derbion on the lower floor. The waitress is puffy and reluctant. I wanted to change the cutlery knife as it was dirty, she could not find a clean one. I asked him to wash it with hot water, rolled his eyes and just steamed the knife. Where are the days in this Costa where pleasant smiling people worked. I work in a restaurant, but I always smile at people, even when I'm not laughing. It's not people's fault that I don't feel well.

They only employee beautiful people I noticed it very particularly with there choice of staff this is a good thing as they choose nice friendly people mainly never met a Costa staff member with a I don't want to be here attitude. And the frappes are nice but fat in a pot lol

I sheltered here from the pouring rain early in the new year. Welcoming staff, good coffee and a nice armchair by the window to watch the world go by!

We went in before work to kill some time we were unaware that we had to buy something to sit down, we had an energy drink and an empty McDonald’s bag and the assumed manager was immediately confrontational, stating we were “taking the piss” and was strongly implying we had to leave, we were immediately apologetic and purchased something, he was then really short with us and we felt we had to leave, no need for instant aggression, very poor behaviour

Always here , great place , excellent friendly staff , been to other Costa's and non as good as this , look forward to coming for coffee 10/10

With this one being on the corner it makes the perfect people watching place.

I have PTSD and had a flashback in the queue. The staff were lovely. Particularly one young member of staff who remained really calm and helped me to the toilets. I was able to get through the flashback quicker as she was so calm and kind. She offered to take me to the back but I preferred the toilets as they’ve a lock and it makes me feel safe. she got me a cup of ice, the cold sensation helps me stay in the present and I’m pretty sure I forgot to pay for my coffee. It meant so much to me to not feel embarrassed. Absolute angels.

went in today, asked for an ice latte and got a hot drink which was fine but the woman who took my order, gingerish hair, fringe, was extremely rude claiming that’s not what i ordered and when giving me the drink she didn’t even look at me and slammed it on the counter. will not be going back, horrible staff and tense atmosphere.

It's such a shame that the outside table and chairs have been taken away for good, will not be the same, infact it was a big mistake, and Amy one of the staff was brilliant today given the way she dealt with complaints about this matter from customers coming in and leaving because they couldn't drink outside.

Tea, coffee and cake very good. Polite service

I was served with 2 coffees and cookie, literally just sat down and was told to move they were closing. Why not tell us that they were closing before serving us, think I know the answer to that.

Small , open been coming here years , the only thing I find about this Costa , my main gripe , is if you are on your own , and waiting to be served , some people stroll up and put a bag or something at a table , to kind of reserve it , meanwhile you have been waiting to be served for 5 mins at the counter , one table left , and bam !! Along comes Mr Jones , wacks his carrier bag on chair and all of a sudden you are buying a take out , instead or sitting down people watching , but other wise I rate this Costa

Pleasant coffee experience in Derbion mall. This is situated in open space and has got decent amount of seats.This is a good place for hot sandwiches and cold drinks.

Stopped off for Coffee and Muffins

An open plan Costa establishment within the Derbion Shopping Centre - Derby. Friendly and helpful staff. Same quality coffee you get in other Costa premises.

Lovely staff and excellent drinks and food

Finally managed to get a Terry's chocolate orange hot chocolate after always finding them out of stock last year it was awesome. Friendly helpful staff.

Coffee wasn't too clever and didn't get the food we ordered

We visited this very busy cafeteria in the heart of Derby. The staff were very pleasant and efficient but it was difficult for them to serve customers and keep up with the clearing of tables as well.  Excellent coffee as usual with the added bonus of a nice view of the church and people walking by.

Staff very helpful and doing there best. Outstanding products. The only issue is the amount of staff, not only is a 45 min wait normal to get served, the owners must be losing thousands of pounds an hour with the hundreds Of people who see the cue and walk out.

The service is incredibly slow, the woman was rude and when I ordered my drink and asked for the free cake she made me scan the code then proceeded to charge me for the cake and then told me my code doesn’t work but made me scan it again and it did? They clearly don’t know what they are doing in there…. I’ve had several bad experiences in this specific costa

Since costco changed their reward system from points to beans not good. Before I could exchange my points for coffee and food I can't do this. COFFEE ONLY NOT AGREAT IDEA NO MORE COSTA FOR ME.

It's alright. I love Costa but here it felt like the last thing the staff wanted was to make me a good cup of coffee. 🤷🏼‍♂️ Good coffee, but could do with some better coffee making.

I could have grown coffee beans quicker than the service here. Maybe if staff spent more time working than talking the que would be smaller?

I had the breakfast meal deal, with coffee and a bacon roll. The food was served promptly and with a smile. The restaurant was clean and had a sanitising station at the door. The coffee served in Costa restaurants is excellent, highly recommend a visit.

Great town canter location, the place is spacious, I’d say the prices are reasonable.. Also the can improve by doing a few little things such as *Proving quicker service for customers *The stuff members show a bit more smiley face *Cleaning options more often

Recently refurbished spacious Costa so expanded range of foods available. Staff always warm and friendly, perfect coffee every time. Great range of hot and cold drinks.

I moved to the USA many years ago and always used to frequent this coffee shop while on lunch when working in derby. Thought I’d go back and have a coffee and a cupcake. Safe to say, nothing had changed. Friendly staff, great coffee and a lot of windows to people watch :)

We went for lunch and coffee Sunday lunchtime. The food as usual was very good. The place was clean and the tables were cleared regularly. The staff we spoke to were very friendly and helpful. They made our visit a real pleasure.

It's a Costa. Delivers what you'd expect

I like hot chocolate they serve a nice one. But they were getting ready for closing when we got there so didn't get the full picture of it working.

One person serving one on phone walked away not happy

Costa Coffee is always brilliant where and whenever you go the atmosphere is friendly and relaxing the staff are always helpful and polite. All Costas are trendy really good for meeting friends but you can also go on your own and have a good coffee and the snacks aren't bad neither

Always get a good coffee with soya mil but limited gluten free do not like the brownies they are very very sweet. Also how many points do you need to get on your card to get a free coffee it seems never ending

Lovely place to relax and unwind in the intu centre, plenty of seating can get rather busy.

Coffee ok but oh dear, place looks shabby and chairs we sat in were really stained and dirty. If we hadn't already got our coffee we wouldn't have stayed, place needs a good refurbish shan't be going there again

This Costa has ambience! Although small, it's in the cathedral like space between stores with lots of natural light from the glass roof above. If you like being in the middle of the action with people walking past either side of the seating area, this place is great. I think best in this environment...if that's you too, this place is definitely recommended.

Its a necessary place to visit to get 10 mins sanity break from shopping, its always busy, but well maintained with good staff and the normal drinks and snacks you expect from Costa.

This shop is always very busy due to its location there’s always a queue but you get there in the end as always with costas the coffee is excellent and the staff are always friendly.

Usual Costa fare, coffee and toastie were okay, restaurant was clean and tidy, but come on staff get rid of the glum faces and replace with a smile.

Service was quick as there was no cue due to it being a rather quiet Sunday afternoon and 3 members of staff on so it was quite surprising to find that the tables and chairs had not been wiped down in a while. The entire time we were sat drinking not once did a member of staff wipe down any tables. I’m guessing the cleaner had rang in sick and the staff that we’re on we’re all far too highly trained to be cleaning.

Nice little Costa Coffee in the middle of the Intu Shopping Centre. A good place to stop while shopping for a coffee and cake. Not too big so often fills up but reasonably quick service. Drinks were good and good location.

We visited last week. The drinks and food were great and the staff were friendly. However the place was dirty. The blind above our table was caked in dirt and dust and some of this fell onto our table. Really bad.

Standard Costa food and beverages. This can be very busy as it is located on a key cross road junction at the edge of the Intu centre. So towards the end of the day it can show marks of a very busy time.1 The cafe is on a major pedestrian junction and has excellent views of the busyness of this city, through large windows. A cafe with a view.2 Staff found to be very helpful.3 Clean toilets are accessible through a key code on your receipt.

Me and my mum come here all the time, we used to find huge problems with the toilets, but they’ve really sorted this out with a new lock system on the toilets and it’s made this Costa a lot nicer to go too, before addicts seemed to be using it as a place to do drugs so Costa got blue lights put in the toilets and code locks so they can no longer use them, so glad they have done this!!!

I lost 40£ in here... 2notes wrapped together... they came out of my pocket. Didn't notice. Popped back in on the off chance it had been handed in. Told no...

Visited for a coffee today. very busy, member of staff said they were short staffed so long queues. Half of the lightbulbs weren't working so very dark. One light flashing on and off all the time. Blinds at the windows are absolutely filthy, thick with dust and one is ripped. Very surprised Costa had allowed one of their cafes to get into such a state. Will not use again.

We were shopping in the Intu Centre Derby (our first visit) whilst the "boss" went off to undergo some retail therapy, I dropped into this Costa for a coffee and snack. First disappointment was the rather slow uncaring service, I asked for my medium cap to be extra hot, but it was only luke warm!! I came across two other Costa's in the centre, one was based in Debenhams, so I wish I had now tried one of these options instead.

A very nice branch of Costa coffee, staff helpful and very polite. Good and full range of drinks and food on offer. We had a decaf cappuccino with skimmed milk, a chai latte with skimmed milk, 2 sausage and red onion toasties and 1 lemon muffin and 1 caramel muffin. Food hot when delivered, due to disability staff bought order to the table, no problem with the request. Shop clean and facilities clean.

It's as good (or bad) as any Costa branch. It all depends on the staff - this lot are friendly and competent, so the experience is a good one.

I go into this shop every day. Best Hazelnut Latte's of all Costa's I have visited. Great and friendly staff too. :) :) :)

They have oat milk but do not allow you to have it in hot drinks because it ''blocks their machine''. I asked if I can just have it poured in but was refused and told they can only do soy, which I am allergic to. No other Costa has informed me of that issue including the one I went to yesterday!

Costa coffee with great Service

What a thoroughly disgusting place this is. My wife and I visited this coffee house mid-week when one would have expected to find a clean table to sit at ... wrong! There was no effort from any staff member to clear and wipe the tables and the rest of the place looked equally unclean. Come on Costa, clean up!!

The food and drink at a Costa is exactly the same good standard no matter where you are. This Costa scored highly on cleanliness and service. Tables were cleared very quickly when customers left which is the major thing I look for. This is one of the better ones, will visit again.

Great coffees as I only drink soya but I was given a milky coffee and I spent the rest of the day on the........ Not impressed!

Quite a large Costa that seemed clean and staff were friendly and helpful. Busy but didn't have to wait too long to get served.
