I love your restaurant and the food is so nice.if I could suggest one thing is that you allow dogs even if only in the conservatory section. We only come in if we can find a dog sitter for the night. I bet you would loads of people coming in if their dog was allowed. Let's face it every one who visits Cornwall seems to have a dog.👍

The only reason I have given 4 stars for atmosphere is because we were the only ones eating in the whole conservatory section...the atmosphere was definitely in the main area, where many were enjoying their meals but we requested the quiet as, being older customers, our hearing is not always the best 😂 Everything from being welcomed, served and the food was first class. Thanks to all the staff.

We were a family of 10 who hadn't made any Sunday night dinner plans, so thanks to Del Mar for helping us out! We were told that they would be too busy for 7:30pm, but when we arrived at 8, it was relatively quiet. Anyway, when we did arrive we were given a warm welcome. We were sat in the conservatory sort of part of the restaurant which wasn't quite as warm as the rest of the restaurant, but didn't really have much of an impact in our evening. Anyway anyway, this is where the good news starts! The food from start to finish was incredible. Well beyond my expectations. I mean to give you some idea, we had prawn starters and the kids shared some cheesy garlic bread. We have eaten a lot of places, but these are literally THE best prawns we have ever had. In the mains we had a mixture of seafood linguine, sea bass, chicken parmesan and pizza. All of the food went down like an absolute storm! Everything washed down with a bottle of Pecorino and a few pints of Poretti. It has to be said that we really had average expectations on our evening and it really turned out to be such a great night and couldn't compliment the food any more. We certainly would come back, just because I want more of those prawns!!

Had to wait but the Pizza was worth it. Light crispy base. Well loaded with chosen toppings. So much better than bought pizza. It was a taste sensation tbh. Forgotten how good they can taste when freshly made. Take away price was reasonable. Ring to order to save on waiting. You'll not be disappointed. Friendly staff

We visited on Saturday evening and were seated promptly even tho we hadn't booked ahead.The staff were lovely and friendly the food was really nice also and good value for money we came a few years back and really wanted to visit again and were glad we did will definitely be back again if we visit perranporth again.

My friend and I went for lunch earlier this week for her birthday and were very pleasantly surprised. We sat in the outside area (the weather was beautiful) and had a main course and a couple of drinks. the food was delicious and the lady owner was very friendly and helpful. I had the lobster which was amazing, my friend had the seafood linguini and the whole experience was very relaxing. We are local so will certainly be going again.

Went here just out of season for an evening meal midweek. Service was really friendly and welcoming! We had a main (one from usual menu and one special) and drink each. Food and wine was superb and the price was good for the area. I'd definitely return again to have more courses, zero faults at all!

I rang to book and was advised no need on arrival very indifferent service We had to eat in the outer not so pleasant cafe takeaway area…Despite remonstration as they were not busy. Pretty good food (raw scallops is -) The Indifferent service is a strange occurrence in this area all the restaurants are so friendly?!? Shame We won’t return Which is a first 🤷‍♀️

Been here a few times now and never had anything bad to say about it! Definitely a treat, the food is always done fresh and to a high standard, and may I mention - delicious! You may have to wait, but it's totally worth it! Staff are friendly and give you an authentic Italian experience. I do recommend booking before your visit to avoid disappointment. A huge variety on the menu, gorgeous taste and presentation, you cannot go wrong with this restaurant!

Me and my family had an amazing meal, everyone enjoyed their meals and the pasta hwas to die for, it was so fresh and the tiramisu is a must off the dessert menu. The staff were lovely, made us feel welcome and were friendly and chatty. We can’t wait to go back.

Well what can I say, by far the best resurant in town. Very welcoming staff the first night we went in, didn't need to book. Felt like family, very well looked after service and food was excellent. Antonio the manager offered recommendations of the best food. Lady grande the owner was very friendly always smiling, found out she makes all the puddings to as well as front of house they tastes like a slice of heaven after a beautiful meal made by the head chef also owner Mr grande, ur sea food was out of this world me n my husband are very picky when it comes to sea food. But would highly recommend the monkfish cooked to perfection. Honestly cannot be more gretaful for Antonio tho cartered to every need we had. Always had a smile, whilst sitting out side started raining, and moved us straight away to a table under cover. Will definitely come again when in town. Natalie and John

Haven't been here for years, remember why now. I enjoy meatballs and lasagne but can't get either here. Wife enjoyed her meal mine was ok. Be years before I go back again. Pizzas looked nice.

Del Mar is a small traditional Italian restaurant they are very welcoming. All of us really enjoyed our meals. The staff all work really hard. What a fabulous meal Definitely recommend this restaurant but you should book ahead it’s very popular

Cute spontaneous dinner for a couple, and went by staff recommendation for food. DO NOT READ REVIEWS A GENUINE FAMILY RUN RESTAURANT, an incredible dinner. Lovely staff. I had the chorizo pasta and Husband had the pizza. Both were delicious. Also wine list is better than other restaurants, not just house; they had pino and blush! Really loved it! Thank you team for such a lovely evening and thank you for all the limoncello shots and taking the pic for our wedding because we’ll be ordering many a bottle! The honest review is that there is a number of genuine 5 star reviews which are over shadowed. A genuine diamond in the rough.

This was our first time trying Del Mar!! Wow!!! You may wait a little while BUT it’s very very busy and the food is Made to perfection. We can honestly say you will not be disappointed. Staff where all lovely but ran off their feet yet they still looked after everyone. Have some patience and a couple of drinks and enjoy!!! So delicious. It’s a little gem of a place 😊😊

We have been going to this restaurant for many years and have always had a great meal. Sometimes the restaurant is very busy but provided you are not in a rush which you shouldn’t be if you are on holiday, you will be rewarded with excellent quality food and a relaxing evening. Yes it is expensive but not any more expensive than any other good restaurant. We can only speak as we find and we would recommend this restaurant without hesitation. With us the staff have always been pleasant and helpful. Yes we will be back again later in the year.

So after a bad experience at an italian restauraunt in Newquay we decided to visit this little gem in Perranporth. This was a pleasant surprise, the menu was so full of choice we found it hard to decide what dishes we wanted to try!! The staff were very friendly, drink/food order taken straight away and our meals arrived at the table within 20 mins. I ordered the Carbonara, my other half had tagliatelle, the kids ordered a spaghetti bolognaise & a spicy penne arrabiatta! All of us thoroughly enjoyed our pasta dishes and two large garlic breads to share (could have shared one they were much bigger than expected) the prices were reasonable & the portions were of a very good size. We had no room for pudding!!

I came for dinner with friends who hadn't visited before. It was a fairly busy Sunday evening but the service was really quick and friendly. We shared starters and had mains each including the calzone pizzas, pasta and a chicken dish. To which we added adjustments without complaint. All were delicious and very reasonably priced, including drinks. I think people forget the huge price increases in ingredients from suppliers that the hospitality industry is facing, plus a shortness of staff which is exhausting for staff doing the work of 2 people. If you visit with patience and understand the pressures all restaurants in Perranporth are facing due to a drastic change in staffing levels, you will love it here. Enjoy the food and time with friends. I've always found Del Mar to be a great experience.

We always visit here every year when we are down on holiday and the quality of the food is second to none. The fillet steak del mar is by far the best we have had anywhere. It is a busy restaurant but that is because the food is so good, so if you do have to wait a bit it will be worth it!

We have been visiting this family run restaurant for 14 years. We visit Cornwall twice a year and this is the place we most love to eat! The food is always first class and the service is impeccable. They also do take away and the most perfect Italian pizzas! The choice of food is great and all cooked fresh to order, the best Italian food around. The owners work so hard to make sure you have the best food, and experience. We would would say to anyone this is a must do when visiting perranporth! Best Italian in Cornwall! The food was absolutely fantastic! Tasty, fresh, cooked to perfection, was so good, we came back twice! Had the gnocchi starter, amazing and the mushrooms and cheese sauce, also fantastic! Both had pasta on the first visit which were so tasty, along with the garlic bread and cheese! The second visit we had pizza which was equally fantastic! I really cannot say how impressed we were with this restaurant, we're really sad we cannot take it back home with us..! Prices were absolutely bang on the money and the hosts were lovely, chatty and made us feel welcome! 11 out of 10 definitely!

This lovely little place kindly squeezed us in last night and we are so pleased we went there. Some of the reviews say the staff are rude but I honestly just felt like I was in Italy where they work hard to get you your food and drink on time. All 4 of us are every bite and went home feeling very content. We will be back.

As always we had a terrific meal. We always sit outside as we have a small dog. The service was good. Always ask if the dog would like water. I really don't understand any negative reviews on this restaurant as it has always lived up to our expectations.

We’ve walked passed this place many times but we gave it go and wasn’t disappointed. It doesn’t look like a great restaurant but lovely service and good food. Welcomed as a family of four.

I can't even begin to describe how furious I am with this place. We stumbled upon this restaurant while walking around Perranporth, eager to try their food. But the second we walked in, we were met with the most appalling rudeness from the waiter. We wanted to order our food, but it was like no one cared to serve us. When we finally flagged down a waiter and told him we were ready to order, he asked if we wanted drinks. We said no, and his response? A disgusted look that made. He took the drink menu away and walked off without a word. We waited again for another waiter, hoping the service might improve, but when she approached our table, she saw another group who hasn’t ordered, ditched us without a single apology, and just walked away. The level of disrespect was beyond belief. We felt so unwelcome and uncomfortable that we got up and left, heading straight to The Green Parrot Wetherspoon next door. At least they know how to treat their customers. I will never set foot in this horrible restaurant again, and I’ll make sure everyone I know avoids it like the plague. And to top it all off, the waitress had the nerve to look shocked when we got up and left. Seriously? Maybe if they actually cared about their customers, they wouldn’t be so surprised when people walk out. This place desperately needs a lesson in what good service looks like. It’s clear they have no clue how to treat people in this industry. I’ll never set foot in this sorry excuse for a restaurant again, and I’ll make sure everyone I know steers clear of it too.

Despite some pretty bad reviews we decided still to go. We booked in advance and found parking right outside. The waiter took our drinks order which arrived promptly. After a few minutes he returned to take our food order.. After a short wait the food arrived, absolutely delicious piping hot and just as ordered. It’s hard to believe that other guests had a bad experience I can only go by ours which was fine

I ate here with my family for dinner tonight and we were all hugely impressed. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the restaurant was clean and pleasant, but the food was the best thing! We had starters and mains and every dish was completely delicious. Authentic Italian food made with high quality ingredients and all at very reasonable prices. We will definitely be returning to this great restaurant!

We have been to perranporth many many times and always walked past this place , but this year, after reading reviews, we finally booked and went, and what can I say? This place is fantastic we all had starters and mains I had the Calzone and if you like a big meal I fully recommend it , we booked for 7pm and by 7.30 the place was full , if you go to Perranporth give this place a try you will not be disappointed we went to Italy last year and the food was as good as there ,the owners who are Italian have brought a taste of Italy to Perranporth we will definitely return on our next visit

If you like good food, friendly staff and an all round substantial evening, then this is the place to go. I had a creamy pasta dish, and I can honestly say it was one of the best pasta dishes I have ever had the pleasure to experience. 100% recommend for anyone looking for a place to eat.

A really not welcoming place. The interior could do with some renovation. It's understandable that it's summer but many places manage to cope with heat well, this place sadly isn't one of them. The staff doesn't seem friendly, probably because we didn't order a starter just went straight to main. The pizza was actually quite nice, although it was a bit disappointing that we didn't get olive oil on the table. Would not recommend though as there are much better places to eat and chill.

First time trying this place, and couldn't fault it. Staff were an absolute pleasure and made you feel very welcome. Food was perfect, and looking forward to coming back 😀

We didn't book but the restaurant wasn't busy, only needed a table for 2 but seemed like we was asking for the world. Once sat down we was given the menus, the interior of the restaurant resembles a cafe/canteen and was extremely warm and uncomfortable. I was driving so wasn't drinking but the staff kept on asking me if I wanted a drink and was surprised/shocked when I said no. We both choose a pizza each without having a starter which again shocked the waitress (your not having starters in a rude manner). The pizza itself took a while to arrive but this wasn't a problem (well other than the heat), the presentation of the pizza was nice along with the base but everything else was bland and in my opinion not worth the price. Oil for the pizza would have been nice but we was not offered this nor was it on the table. We was then asked if we wanted a dessert and when we said no was greeted with "no dessert" in the same rude manner. We had to ask for the bill twice before it was brought, at this point we was dripping with sweat and ready to leave as quickly as we could to get some air. In summary if you want average quality of food at a higher price and poor rude service then try out this place if not then I'd go somewhere else, Witherspoon's is pretty much next door with a higher rating.

My wife and I walked into the restaurant , They were very welcoming and found us a lovely inside table( they do have outside seating as well) The service was prompt but not rushed. The menu choices were excellent. We had starters, mains both of which were fabulous but rather large! The vegetables served were cooked beautifully and very tasty. Would recommend this restaurant. Not cheap but value for money.

Additionally, the staff were very unfriendly, which further impacted my overall dining experience. I hope that the restaurant can address these issues and improve its menu offerings and customer service to provide a more satisfying experience for patrons."
