Unfortunately the chips are under cooked. Rock hard and very disappointed

We have just picked up a small portion of fish and chips and I've never been so disappointed in the service. You've provided a handful of chips and a very small fish. For the price of £9.25 absolute disgrace

1/3rd of the order is missing and told i need to drive there to pick it up!!! whats the point of the delivery service if i have to drive there anyway

You should really set better expectations for the time of delivery rather than keep changing it.

Food was cold was not eat able

Took nearly two hours to arrive. Second time with missing items, last time a whole meal. Cold when it arrived

The cod is great, falls apart in your hands (good sign), the chips are pretty good, but some get stuck to the paper and some are too small or too thin and hard (standard for fish and chips places). The special curry sauce was a bit different than I'm used to, might be too overbearing for some. Arrived fairly fast but recommended going to the place yourself to guarantee fresh as possible. Bit expensive to eat at only warm temperature.

Fish was was good, but not large compared to my regular standard that I order. Delivery guy was an idiot who can't follow simple instructions.

Spend almost £50 on a family meal for four. Two of the large chips had no more than 20 chips in! I wished I’d opened the food and checked before leaving and pointed out the massive error of their ways. Whoever boxes up the food should be retrained or let go. Chips are relatively inexpensive and a big part of the meal. I won’t be going back.

Ordered and paid online. Website offered collection of 7.30pm but when I arrived the shop was shut and the staff I could see inside moved away and hid. Trying to get my money back

This is the best fish & chip shop in Horsham by a Mike. We sat in this time as it was my birthday, amazing service and very friendly. Order taken quickly, food arrived soon after, it didn't disappoint. The fish was freshly cooked, perfect batter and fresh cod...yummy. Seriously is the best.....hands down

Had a take away for here and very impressed. Lovey crispy batter on fish, proper scampi and delicious chips. Portion sizes sensible, often when you order small chips at a restaurant you still get heaps and end up throwing them away whereas here you get what you asked for. Lovely staff too and they also provide a strong paper bag to carry them home in. Will definitely visit again.

The "driver" was on foot. They walked from Horsham to Southwater. I was confused why it was taking so long on the map. When they arrived they took my food out of a sports bag and it was cold.

I just ordered the fish to see how it was. I believe £10 plus is a little excessive for just a bit of fish. The fish itself was hot and cooked but the outer batter tasted as if the oil it was cooked in was quite old. Fresher oil would have made a big difference. As it was, all I could taste was old used oily batter. Summary: Please do not use OLD Oil.!!! You are pricing yourselves out of the market too.

Ordered in shop to take away, small fish and chips and my goodness they were not joking when they said small. The fish was absolutely tiny to the point I laughed when I opened the box. That being said it was tasty and the staff were friendly enough even though they were more interested in talking to one another than serving customers. Will not bring going back as this tiny piece of fish and handful of chips cost £9.98!

Very nice fish and chips. However, we didn’t feel the amount of chips received was value for money. We ordered 2x large and 1x standard. Certainly not enough for the price paid.

All lovely, chips a little dry. Ready for delivery super quick. But although I left clear instructions for the delivery driver they didn’t read them, and handed the food to a neighbour even though I was yelling from a window to attract their attention. If they just read the instructions… no fault of the restaurant though

How can you charge a service charge for delivery when you have already paid a delivery fee?

Ordered large chips and two battered sausages. Got a small chips and one battered sausage. I wouldn't bother again. Absolute joke!

Last several visits the chips have been horrible. A bag full of leftovers, , recooked, soaked in stale oil. What happened? I’ve been going there for over 30 years and sadly won’t be going again unless the chef gets some lessons.

I fail to see how a fish and chip shop can forget the chips. I also fail to understand why the fish was stone cold although did have crispy batter. Another take away in the bin.

The restaurant had the food ready. We called to check as it took so long to allocate a driver. The driver arrived after the restaurant had closed but luckily they were still working. Due to the severe delays in allocating a driver turned food turned up freezing cold. I can just imagine how delicious it would have been if hot, even just like warm.

Came here with a friend. We ordered, it arrived quickly. Portions were really big & piping hot as well as absolutely delicious. I've not been here for years but will bring other friends and family with me as it was certainly worth it. The ladies who were serving us ( Joanne/ Sara / Angela ) were fantastic, really helpful & chatty.

Unfortunately, Deep Blue failed to send the correct items. We received battered sausages, not plain sausages as per our order. As we were all hungry, we tried them…but they’re not to our taste so they ended up in the bin. This isn’t the first time that we’ve been sent the wrong items, we’ve even had items missing. Probably won’t order from Deep Blue again.

My usual order is haddock, chips and mushy peas: been having this for years. The quality has always been exceptional. What I had tonight was mediocre at best. Fairly poor fish. I've never seen any of the people behind the counter before: if this is a franchise it must be a new crew. Under the current financial conditions I suppose everyone is feeling the pinch, but here the quality has gone right downhill.

The food was a really small portion considering we had ordered large. It took a long time to come and was really cold by the time it got here.

The only problem was the meal was lukewarm so not as good as it should have been

Visiting Horsham we 'found' DEEP BLUE and enjoyed lovely british Friday Fish & Chips the service was good Angela was our waitress and she recommended various eats all the staff were helpfull and very cheerfull obviously enjoying their work

I planned a delivery and they still couldn’t deliver on time. The fish was poor, considering the price charged. Barely any flavour to the fish. All I could taste was batter..

First time trying this restaurant and two items were missing from the order. When I called they would not do anything other than tell me to complain to just eat. No accountability taken and the meal was spoilt as a result, which was a shame. We won’t order from them again and I’m still awaiting a refund.

The smallest portion of chips ever. With room for extra chips taken up by the sausage and saveloy that I ordered. The chips also didn't taste nice, maybe not very fresh oil. This was the second chance I gave them and they let me down again.

Having had a long day out with the family on Good Friday, we decided to have a take away supper from Deep Blue. I placed an order for 8 people & collected it within 20 minutes of ordering. The fish & chips were freshly cooked & piping hot - the best place in Horsham to get them. They close at 7.30pm.

Ordered online via deliveroo ordered 2 large cod & chips delivery turned up NO CHIPS? Spoke to restaurant they blame deliveroo had to request re order through deliveroo once reported they automatically refund the delivery charge not the missing chips so Thanks for supplying half the meal and refunding half the missing. DO NOT USE this chippy use one that cares, what kind of chip shop forgets to deliver the chips Christ it’s not difficult. Very UNHAPPY CUSTOMER will never use again.

We have used Deep Blue many times as it is normally very consistent. last night however was very different, we ordered via Deliveroo 2 x regular cod and chips and squid and Chips. The order was delivered on time with a note on the bag that we were regular customers. The batter on the fish was hard and the fish almost non existent, was overcooked and hard and chewy, this felt it had been hanging around for ages , the squid was ok but the chips dry and cold. For the best part of £40( no problem with that if the food is edible) this was very poor. Most went in the bin! As i said Deep Blue is normally very good but how this standard of food was allowed to leave the restaurant to regular customers is disappointing.

Have not had fish and chips from Deep Blue since the Pandemic started, but decided to order a take away when I had visitors. I placed the order & collected it 20 minutes later. It was piping hot on arrival home having been freshly cooked.

Someone ordered this or us - pensioners portions, a patronising title in itself but I have news for this little enterprise: Because you are 70 does not mean you are anorexic.

What ever you do, do NOT order a burger from this place. They openly microwave it then put it in the bun, your much better of buying a Rustlers burger and microwaving it yourself.

Eat in or takeaway, the fish and chips is always delicious. Chips are not all clumped together like other nearby places do, and the fish always tastes fresh, with a nice thin but crisp batter. Top-notch service, too.

Never had a bad takeaway from here. Service is efficient and food on the whole is reasonably good. Particularly good chips but the cod always seems a little pancaked to me. Would visit more regularly but I find the portion size disappointing for the price.

Not the cheapest fish and chips shop around .But what you get is very good .It gets busy and some times you have to share a table with other people

My Wife and I have eaten at the Deep Blue restaurant (Horsham) several times after work and have been very impressed, so much so we have told other people. Unfortunately we went there late yesterday afternoon (16/10/19) and was very disappointed with our meals - I.e. the chip seemed if they had sat in the warmer unit to long and were not as hot as normal also everything was very greasy. We did mention our concerns to the waitress who deducted £2.00 from our bill which we felt was a token gestured at best and not satisfactory - It will be sometime before we return to the restaurant after this disappointing experience which is a shame.

I popped in after a visit to town last Saturday around 4pm . Having eaten here before but not experienced their takeaway food I was very dissapointed .I ordered a simple Battered sausage and chips , the chips were undercooked and the sausage was not freshly cooked and lukewarm !I hope this was a one-off since this has not been my experience of this restaurant in the past .

The heading says it all - the Fish is fresh the chips are tasty and the curry sauce is divine!I have been going here for a few years its never a let down, the only down side is the prices are getting silly! I guess that can only be blamed on higher rates and the costs to run a business.However if you have the set menu the portions are large! be warned.

I remember Deep Blue from....well, many years ago when I grew up in Horsham. Visiting Horsham for a couple of hours, I passed Colletts Alley, smelt the fish and chips aroma, and called in for a portion of chips.

My husband and I ate in the restaurant at lunchtime. He had haddock and I had cod. He wasn’t impressed at all with his haddock. He said it was tasteless and wondered whether it actually was haddock.

Cod and chips was very tasty I had the seniors special which was a small cod and chips and it was excellent came within a few minutes of ordering and was fresh and hot. My daughter said that her larger cod and chips was the best she had eaten in a long time. Thumbs up for this eat in part of the business.

It is difficult to get a table due to its popularity. The food and staff are wonderful. Brilliant place for fsh and chips.

Never been before but will definitely visit again, lovely cosy old world setting in the heart of Horsham.. great service, great food and a lovely cup of tea as well... thanks for a great lunch

This place isn’t big - has about 11 tables. They have a take-out section connected to the restaurant. We ate in the restaurant part. We ordered the fried Haddock and French fries and it was fabulous. It was a huge piece of fish and a nice portion of fries.

Great food! Served fast, hot and tasted delicious! Will be back!

Go on a Friday or Saturday lunch time around noon and you will usually be queuing as this is a very popular restaurant in the centre of Horsham.(but well worth the wait)

Always a lovely welcome here and the fish and chips are very good, I can highly recommend the Haddock and Chips.

We decided to give Deep Blue another try even though we got turned away last time at a few minutes after last orders.
