We were walking along the pier on a hot afternoon. Fancied a whipped ice cream and saw this place give it a try. We had a mixture of ice cream on tubs, whipped ice cream on a traditional cone with flake. All good but a little on expensive side. The guy who runs it is retired chatty all good.

Had my first ice cream cone in 20 years at Mint and Mocha on Penarth Pier. All the staff were knowledgeable on gluten free products and protocol, new tub of ice cream opened to prevent cross contamination!! Gluten free sugar cones were great!!

Just tasted like processed fish from a catering company- flat and unappetising. Best thing was the packet of sauce.

Visited for the first time and I must say this restaurant is just perfect, A warm friendly elegant atmosphere and the food is just perfect. Every spoon full leaves u wanting another. Incredible flavour and perfectly cooked. Loved the rib eye and scrumptious chips and sauce decadent. The muscles were so fresh and just tasted so good. We enjoyed this wine really amazing. A definite hidden gem in Penarth. Really enjoyed my dinner just a very well done to you all.

Chips were nice and tartare sauce was great but the cod was awful. It definitely wasn’t fresh (frozen!) and the fish inside the batter was a mushy grey mess. Batter was crisp but very greasy. I’m originally from Brixham in Devon which is one of the biggest fishing ports in the South West and used to work for a firm supplying fish to the catering trade so I know how the difference between fresh and frozen. Ended up throwing away over half of my meal - no joke when you’ve just paid £8.50 for it! Definitely wouldn’t buy there again.

This has been the first place our family has visited when local lockdown has eased. Although it was a windy day we found a sheltered spot to eat our freshly cooked fish & chips from Decks on Penarth Pier. It is a lovely little takeaway serving drinks and snacks - friendly staff and hand sanitizer! Will keep returning.

This used to be Pier64We live close by so used it a lotThe kitchen was too small for the number of diners, so service was slow. The Deck has extended the eating area, by building a waterside deck at Marina levelDidn’t have food, but this might be a problemSame kitchen, more covers?Anyway, it’s called the Jetty Bar, it’s a floating pontoon, so gets a bit wobbly if people are walking on it! Nice view at water level, with swans and ducks swimming around. At this lower waterside level they offer a meat platter, chips and toasties, weird! On Sundays, the blackboard said “bottomless gin, lager, Prosecco” for £29.95 at lunch time. The two choices to eat were roast beef sandwiches or mussels with chips.Lacking some imagination!Guessing the small kitchen can’t copeCovid restrictions OK, although what used to be the bar is rather empty and echoingSmoking is forbidden everywhere, you have to go outside to the road. Many will agree, but for those who like an occasional cigarette will look at the grassy knoll to the left of the entrance and wonder why they removed the seating areaNo smoke from there would bother anyoneAnd booking? This is really weirdYou can book Jetty, Balcony or restaurant (last two have a good looking menu) but if it rains, you lose your booking on Jetty or Balcony, unless there happens to be an inside table free...Take your chance on outsideWill try again for an inside meal

Visited lunchtime Monday while out for a walk. I had the bacon and egg sandwich, upgraded with an extra egg, and my mate had fish and chips. Both were cooked to order and served up hot and delicious, accompanied by a cup of proper strong tea. Best cafe I've found in Penarth so far. Highly recommended.

Apart form the obvious delights of a well-preserved, well-renovated, and well maintained Victorian edifice - Penarth Pier has a more intriguing aspect - inasmuch as its boards are embellished with brass plates in memory of many Penarth people. The is history underfoot. We have placed plaques there ourselves - and keep them polished. We polish them mainly through the inspiration of seeing that other people polish theirs. It's a living tradition and one we like to see maintained. Food is available on the pier (and concerts or art exhibitions on occasion). It is a splendid place to visit - or, if you live in Penarth,a lovely place to take visiting friends.

Found it difficult to find anywhere to eat after arriving late afternoon in Penarth. One of the things we were looking forward to was fresh fish and chips by the sea ,it's a must for us when visiting the seaside. As stated could'nt find anywhere except this place ,it was edible but not fresh frozen fish and chips and an extremely long wait for our food. The staff were really nice but a lot to manage on their own.The coffee was really good just a shame the food is not fresh as price wise they are very competitive.

Gran ubicación y personal amable pero el bacalao y patatas fritas eran pobres bacalao cocinado de congelados, aguada, gris y poco pescado que se pueden encontrar dentro de la masa. Patatas fritas no es el mejor.

I love it! The food is great quality, freshly cooked, good value and the service friendly too. I was told they are well known locally for being the best place to get fresh, crispy chips - I had the scampi and chips and it was awesome! All served with a wedge of lemon, tartar sauce (and its worth paying the 80p difference for the larger portion too, if you're hungry). Top it off with a Joe's ice cream - over 10 flavours to choose from, but my favourite is the caramel crunch, with pecan nuts. When I was there, someone else was being served a bacon roll - the smell was divine! I will definitely be coming here again.

We have been visiting the Casa Paco restaurant for a few years. Each meal is better than the last and we’re always made to feel welcome. The meals are consistently high standard, I can’t wait to go again. We had many deliveries in lockdown and they were always piping hot and fresh. Karen and the team are wonderful hosts and cannot do enough for us. My favourite it the fillet steak and Rossini sauce - highly recommend!

We went here following glowing reviews on social media and here on trip advisor. Very disappointed with our lunch. You have to order at the bar and pay include the tip without the knowledge that they earned it! Our lunch which was from the small plate menu Lamb, and portion of chips. It took 40 minutes to arrive even after a reminder. others near us had theirs served before us even though we had arrived first. We sat on a table in the middle of the restaurant. We seemed to be isolated, window seats on larger tables were available but not to a 2. We quite often find this in some establishments but are usually offered a better table when requested. When we left 6 customers left. Oh dear, we shan't be back. By the way we find the shop also expensive. Other deli's offer more and better value.

This pub has been bought by the villagers. It’s is wonderful in so many ways. Cowbridge seems to be a black hole of decent food aside from the hare and hounds and maple and bean. This felt like a proper community pub in the 90s. The staff were all amazing. The food was amazing. There wasn’t a 400% markup on rubbish wine. The service as great. The atmosphere was lovely. Great starters of crab and squid were followed by perfectly cooked steak. The doughnuts with custard cream and strawberries were lovely. No rip off frozen food or “small plates” that nobody likes here. Go and support places like this. The rest of cowbridge eateries need to up their game.
