We ordered - Bacony Style Chicken (almost NO chicken or taste) I DO NOT RECOMMEND - Gypsy Roast Pork (dry potatoes with 2 small pieces of dry meat on it) I DO NOT RECOMMEND -Tocsni with Asparagus (the only tasty meal but the portion too tiny for dinner) I noticed on the bill that staff added 10% of Service Charge without asking. The staff was very polite but because of food I do not recommend this restaurant.

Lucky Bristol having a genuinely Hungarian restaurant (it’s run by friendly Hungarians). I didn’t try any of the Hungarian dishes but the large menu includes a lot of them. They also have Hungarian wine and beer. I was there for breakfast - their poached eggs on toast and sausages were terrific, as was the coffee. Only two criticisms: the music was a bit loud and intrusive, and the wooden tables were a bit sticky and could be made more attractive with tablecloths - traditional Hungarian red and white checks would be the style to go for.

I was entirely unaware of this cosy restaurant existence i'm afraid to say but a freezing cold walk down Gloucester Rd from the Drapers Arms and an inviting menu changed this. It has a large breakfast/brunch menu and a Hungarian dinner menu which the attentive server explained they had gradually increased as demand grew. I can see why because one visit is not enough to try everything that sounded good on the menu. The front of house server explained the menu and the specials with a little explanation of why certain dishes were on that month. We settled on Budapest Style Beef (£15.99) and Gypsy Roast Pork (£15.49) but both of us could have ordered 3 or 4 other dishes that also sounded very inviting. Both dishes were very tasty and a special mention for the pickled cabbage which was delicious. I could have eaten a bowl of that myself and was assured it was a big hit with everyone and homemade. The drink menu only has one lager, Hungarian Soproni (£5.20) which was fine and one i've never tried before. The Nyakas rose wine (£8.90 for a large) wasn't to my partners taste unfortunately as it was very sweet. We didn't have space for desert but did snoop on plates going out to other tables and the cake going to the couple behind us looked generous in size and they definitely seemed happy with it. We'll definitely be back with a bigger appetite to try some more of the menu, specifically the paprikash pancakes and the goulash for me next time. Bill was a reasonable £55.86 and that included a service charge. We will definitely be back, its was a lovely little venue and exactly what we needed on a cold night.

Our first visit, and we will definately be back. Very tasty food and friendly staff. Great value for money. We just had main dishes on this occasion, but the starters and desserts also looked great. Our main dishes - one meat, one vegetarian - were plenty to eat and great flavours. Thank you.

Amazing selection and very tasty dishes! I am a massive fan of the vegetarian breakfast but have tried lots of the Hungarian dishes too which are all super tasty and freshly made. The staff is always super friendly and makes sure you feel welcomed and almost like home:) The coffee is definitely the BEST coffee I ever tried. Overall its the best place to eat in Bristol and definitely will be recommending it to lots of people.

The food was average considering the price …. £12 for an avocado and poached egg on toast and the poached egg was as over cooked as anything and then they tried to charge me for the replacement egg! The audacity to add service charge after this with an extremely rude and disinterested waitress who basically threw our cutlery at the end of our table and had to be approached by us every time we wanted something. This place has made me think twice about being “that” person who asks for service charge to be taken away. Would NOT recommend. Average food, awful prices and even worse service.

Deck on Gloucester Road is a small family run Hungarian restaurant. We go there most weeks for coffee and cake, and sometimes for lunch or an evening meal. It is always lovely, because the food is delicious and reasonably priced and the people working there are always lovely and friendly. Today we went for a Sunday roast, which was delicious. We had roast pork Hungarian style, which melted in the mouth, served with potato pancake, potatos, vegetables and gravy. A lovely 5 star experience.

Full English was a mixed bag. Good points: Tasty bread for the buttered toast, good quality eggs and well cooked real mushrooms. Bad points: Poached eggs were under-cooked with loads of white blob (seen left uneaten on others plates too). Amazingly only two tiny slices of streaky bacon - unforgivable. Generic beans and tomatoes. Coffee was fine but served in a cup without a saucer. Spoon sitting on the table. So-called discretionary 10% service charge added without asking. Total bill £12.43 which I consider overpriced. This cafe is a typical trendy type eatery where a few vegetarian wraps, cous cous, poached eggs or avocado with some half decent bread will attract rave reviews, but the basics are all wrong. Maybe the Hungarian food experience is better.
