Called in for a coffee and a green tea as we were surprised to find this teashop in New Romney. Every other time we have been to have a drink in New Romney we have been disappointed by the lack of establishments but this one is delightful. Very friendly staff, a lovely atmosphere and a secluded garden area at the back. Our drinks were freshly made and I was surprised to find that my green tea was actually proper tea leaves and not the usual tea bag. The food on offer also looked delicious and I have no doubt we will be back. However, please note that, when we went, only cash is accepted; no credit cards.

This is the second time we have visited Deblyns in December for a delicious (+ filing!) Vintage Christmas Afternoon Tea, and we were not disappointed. A varied selection of sandwiches and cakes were available, and the delicious warm scones were served with mincemeat, rather than jam, and individual tubs of clotted cream. There were as many refills of tea and milk as we required. And we were each provided with a Cracker to add to the fun The staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. There was no problem when we asked to take home the food we couldn't finish. The Tea Shop was warm and cosy, and attractively decorated for the Festive Season. Highly, highly recommended. Will return to sit in the gorgeous garden asap.

This tea room was surprising; the menu had many options of sandwiches, hot & cold, lunch time meals & home made cakes. It’s nicely decorated, tables laid nicely & staff were great & friendly. We ordered 2 sandwiches, served with salad & crisps. Lovely fresh bread and tasty filling. Coffees were good. Cash only was the only issue, otherwise we would have had a scone & cake too. Will definitely visit again!

Called in while nearby after reading reviews. Arrived at 14:15 the teashop was not very busy were offered to eat in or out in the garden we opted for the garden. After looking at the menu we picked the Afternoon Tea for Two which consisted of two rounds of delicious sandwiches, two freshly made fruit scones with jam and clotted cream and we decided on Red Velvet cake. All served on a three-tier cake stand with a large pot of tea. It was fantastic and filling attentive server and no rushing to get the table for the next customer. A treat at Deblyns was the reward after a walk from Dymchurch! On the walk I wondered if there would be a Savoury Tea on the menu! I wasn’t disappointed delicious freshly made cheese scone, with chutney, butter and tea. We also ordered a Vintage afternoon tea, which was 1st class, including a sandwich with a filling from the menu, a freshly made fruit scone with clotted cream and jam, and a slice of homemade cake, and of course a pot of loose leaf tea. Having had a super time with the Alpaca's we were in search of a cuppa and as we drove down the high street spotted this rather cute little tea shop. We were not disappointed, it was real tea! Yes tea where you need a strainer and delicious too. The menu left us thinking what we would eat, the choice was excellent, some had ciabatta with bacon and brie, others had the cream tea, cakes were good too and then when we were thinking it was time to leave another pot of tea came, in fact we actually had three pots without even asking. Really love hot tea it was. Asking about the history of the shop, Lyn took everyone on a tour of this 13th century house, three stories high that was when closing time and come and gone but no-one tried to send us on our way. So go and give them your business, lovely people and delicious food.

All the tables have parasols so there is shade available if needed. The tea's pretty good too! We shared a pot of breakfast tea. It was a huge tea pot so the tea was a bit weak until it had brewed but it was good to note it was proper loose leaf tea and a strainer was provided. The cakes were home-made and delicious. We have been to Deblyns three times now. Each time we had a cream tea of varying varieties/sizes and every time it has been lovely. The welcome is always friendly even if they are busy, which has always been the case. On every visit we had to wait half an hour for a table to become available. I can't think of any other tea room I would be prepared to do that for and we have done so three times now. New Romney is a lovely town with a fantastic Church and shops to visit, so the half hour wait is no problem. The seating is a little compact but that gives the tea room charm and a busy, chatty atmosphere. The food is lovely, the portions are a good size and we have twice left with doggy bags because we just couldn't eat it all in one go. Interestingly my children (8 and 13) love it as much as myself and my parents (46 - 82). It really is a cross generational delight. Their selection of leaf tea is extensive and if you fall in love with your choice you can purchase a bag to take home. The walls display pictures from local artists and both these and some local craft work are also for sale. This lovely tea room, with it's friendly staff and lovely food, has become a holiday must do for the whole family.

My husband spotted this quaint tea room driving through New Romney yesterday. The inside lived up to our expectations, lovely decor, fantastic menu and friendly staff greeted us as we arrived. There was a large choice of light lunches, cream teas and cakes at reasonable prices. We had a delicious lunch and we will be returning soon.

I popped in today for a drink and was spoilt for choice with the delicious cakes and scones, I opted for the home made scone served warm with clotted cream and jam, the staff were friendly, they had a selection of goods for sale, the court yard to the rear is a sun trap I’ll definitely be back

This was our third visit to Deblyns teashop and it was as exceptional as ever! We were greeted with a warm welcome by the kind and helpful staff who guided myself, my partner, my child and my two dogs to the quaint garden behind the main period building. We instantly felt welcome as the staff catered for our every need including water and treats for our dogs. My son had ordered the bacon and tomato sandwiches which were served with fresh, locally produced salad and a packet of crisps, this was served within ten minutes of ordering which is outstanding for a meal of this quality, quantity and taste. The meals were served on “mix match” crockery which definitely gave the place a genuine quirky vintage vibe, one of our favourite things about Deblyns. Throughout the meal, the staff would regularly ask if we needed anything or if the meal was up to the correct standard, of course we said yes! Overall I would definitely recommend visiting this perfect little tearoom for all of the reasons above.

Such friendly staff, always on hand to make sure that our visit is enjoyable. Excellent choices for brunches, and afternoon tea (real tea leaves, too).

I visited with my aunt for the vintage afternoon tea which was absolutely delicious. The owners were very helpful with my mobility needs. Love the old feel to the tea rooms. Thanks for a lovely afternoon.

This is a great little tea room and very reasonably priced. the cakes looked amazing but we went for scones. If it's warm use the garden, as it is very tranquil. Would recommend.

There is so much potential here, however it's not in the best spot and the food is just about "OK" - to be fair I wasn't expecting michelin stars and I understand the need to keep costs down - but it needs to be balanced and it currently isn't. Working more closely withthe Maize Maze may help them attract more people which would then help to improve the overall offering and quality. But for now, it's ok for a cheapish lunchtime snack with the kids.

Lovely quirky bar with friendly hosts and a good selection of drinks. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the local area.

We were cycling on a busy, sunny Saturday and came across this delightful cafe. The staff were warm and welcoming and offered us a secure place to park the bikes so that we could go inside to escape the sun (although there is also outside seating.) There is a good range of all day breakfast and lunch items, all of which are cooked fresh and our avocado, feta and egg on toast was perfect. Lovely coffee and cakes too!

Excellent! My friend and I sat upstairs sharing a table for two not far from the bar area. The waitress was very attentive, handed us a menu and asked if we would like to order a drink. I felt a little rushed if I am honest. I wanted a beer but they didn't have any although it was listed. We settled on a tonic water - £1.90 and a regular coffee - £3.20. The food choices were vast for a small establishment but we settled on a smoked salmon, cream cheese, avocado & dill mustard sandwich - £7.90 and bacon, brie and avocado sandwich - £7.40. We were offered a choice of bread. Prepared post order and served with salad and crisps - beautifully presented and delicious. At no point did we feel rushed to finish our meal and leave. Anna's Tea Room was busy downstairs with people enjoying afternoon tea which looked very nice. Total bill - £20.40 so very affordable for a lunchtime outing. Definitely recommend

I was running an event in the local area for 60 people, including several MD's, councillors etc. I wanted to use a local business to provide the food and asked Maria if it was possible for the cafe to provide us with a takeaway lunch as well as all the crockery needed to serve it. The team prepared a delicious (and huge) buffet spread for us. The guests loved that it was all served on vintage crockery and were thrilled to find we were supporting local businesses. Maria was easy to deal with and responded promptly to my questions. Everything was ready as promised, she was really flexible about picking up and dropping of (I didn't even have to clean the plates) and her team were super helpful in getting extra coffee for me. Thanks Brew at 32!
