The service recieved from Claire was exceptional. The food was spot on,steak was cooked to perfection 👌 Claire ensured our visit was more than pleasant,checking in when she could to make sure everything was okay. Went above and beyond to allow for my fathers extreme requests yet remained calm and took his xxxx like a champ. She deserves a raise just for listening to him. Would 100% recommend. Will be back. Emma will pay mext time and give claire the tip that she deserves, 100% more than he gave her

Came with family for tea, great service and Claire was very helpful with us as we have 2 little ones with us who are fussy eaters and she helped with advice on food etc, came to check with us if we’d sorted our food etc. very welcoming and hardworking lady and I’m sure an invaluable member of staff.

Another lovely carvery as always had our tables reserved by the lovely Lauren who works there is very friendly and remembers us every week.

Great food and great experience. Thank you to Lauren for looking after us. We will definitely return and we are looking forward to it.

Went into Dearne Bally for for a business meeting was treated by a lovely lady called Claire she was so pleasant and helpful made our experience so much more enjoyable she even kept on coming over to make sure we had everything we needed So nice to have such wonderful people like that she is a credit to the company and will only return because of Claire

Brilliant service by Claire! Breakfast was delicious!

This breakfast in this place has definitely improved - thankfully!! The food was hot and topped up regularly and they can actually cook eggs! Choice of eggs, which is a revelation and the addition of the toaster has just tipped it to 5 stars. The staff - particularly Claire - could not have been more on it! Friendly, chatty, helpful and we didn’t have to sit staring at our dirty plates while we finished our drinks. This is now our Sunday breakfast place!

Drinks 40 mins late, mash lumpy, pastry soggy. Used to rate this place as a decent cheap place to eat you knew what you was getting i know it's no Michelin star, but it's dropped loads in standards won't be coming again.

Lovely place to eat buffet breakfast and the Sunday dinners with lovely and kind members of staff (especially Claire) highly recommend.

Dropped in for lunch during work. Lauren was lovely getting us all sorted and ordered, made sure we always had everything we needed. Ultimate chicken meal was solid value and the steak it came with was cooked perfectly.

We went for a carvery yesterday and after being shown to our table , decided what we wanted and ordered food and drinks on the Greene King app.After 15/20 minutes we hadn’t heard anything so one of us went to the bar to check what was happening and he was told that no trace had come through of the order even though he had paid in full for six persons via PayPal. He was told that hopefully that would get refunded to his account and that he had to order both drinks and foot again at the bar. With two very hungry children with us , we were not at all impressed by this. So eventually we got our drinks and receipts to get our meals. ( 12.95 each, if you want larger portion of meat, pigs in blanket and an extra Yorkshire that was available for 2 pounds extra but none of us had large as we felt normal would be sufficient. How wrong we were , I ordered turkey and beef and a minute piece( not slice even)of each was deposited on my plate plus a very tiny Yorkshire. The veg was wishy/ washy looked as though it had been there for hours, parsnips should have been there but they weren’t cooking anymore and this was several hours before they stopped serving. The roast potatoes were ok but I didn’t appreciate the rest at all. I will never return to this establishment as I got so little enjoyment from coming out and this is from someone who has physical health problems and doesn’t come out much. The rest of our party felt the same.

We enjoyed a delicious carvery lunch with a huge choice of tasty vegetables and potatoes, lovely turkey and homemade gravy...perfect for a cold, rainy Sunday afternoon. The staff we met were very helpful, hardworking and friendly, checking at our table that we were happy with our meal which was a welcome change. We'll return soon, thank you

Gave you a second chance but disappointed with food cauliflower mush no cheese 2 very thin slices of meat puddings stoggy all cold even gravy ? The gravy handle covered in gravy . Your not timing the food that is coming from the kitchen properly and your putting too much in the big bowls that’s why it’s cold. Staff were polite

3rd time since opened I have been and this place is no better in fact worse. I do not know how this place is still open. When asked what the fish was was told its Tilapia. Never heard of it and after goggling wouldn't eat it either. From the sewers of South Africa. Lasagne was warmed up in microwave and burnt on the top. Served with about 6 chips. Never actually got the bread and butter ordered until 5 minutes after we had finished. I asked for a tea spoon for little one to eat his peas to be told there was one in the cutlery holder on the table and waitress walked off. No there wasn't. The play area is desperate for a renovation and is worse than it was last year. Greene King pubs should be ashamed of this place that has the ability to be a gold mine. Ordered food off the app and if waitress didn't have to deliver food they wouldn't talk to you

Great value carvery with veggie and vegan options. We called in quite often as its such good value. The staff at Birdwell are always polite and helpful. The server 'Mia' is lovely and always smiling. thankyou

Came for a birthday meal on Friday 24th January. The food was almost cold and dessert was 90 minutes late. Worst experience I've had there. Very disappointed. Wow. Unbelievable. Had a response online for my review asking me to contact them. Which I have. No response. Just for show because bad reviews online dont look good. They have no interest in resolving any issues.

We had a burger 🍔 and two carvery meals. The chips were cold as was the carvery, we had to ask for it to be heated up. The carvery had obviously been out for a while as vegetables etc were dried up and cold. The beef was lovely and tender we are dissapointed because the food wasn't fresh and it was cold. At Christmas the food on the carvery was fresh and warm.

Anyone who reads my reviews will know I tell it like it is and it can be brutal . however when I went to Dearne Valley Farm Restaurant this week I was only expecting average food so I was shocked when it turned out to be amazing . I’m hoping it was not just a fluke because I want to return soon . While I only had Garmon Steak eggs chips and onion rings they where cooked to perfection ,I don’t know how they cooked the Garmon but it was definitely the best Ive ever Tasted although I had a stake knife an ordinary knife cut it like butter. The price was good ,service spot on and only waited about 20 mins. I write more bad reviews than good so you can be sure I have to be impressed to write a good one . It was a nice change after getting Mugged last week for £120 for 3 people for very average food ruined with a bucket full of cheap BBQ Sauce, from a Restaurant ending with the letter F in its name.

Great time. Had a laugh with Claire who was on shift there. She looked after me and also helped with some local knowledge and conversation. Came alone just for a meal after work. Was checked on and asked how things were more than once and food was really nice. Great service and good food. What else can I say?

Come today as a family of 4 as grandparents just moved local won’t go again the guy on the bar must have been a manager was so so rude. Ordered some puddings for me to go ask 20 minutes later where they was. To be told was coming then for some women to come say we don’t have this this this this what we ordered chose something else they come out after 10 minutes I asked were the 4th one was she said there isn’t one I said there is I had the confirmation email she was adamint with me there wasn’t a 4th even tho I showed her very rude. She went and got it in the end brought the cheese cake out frozen my grandma had a blackberry and apple sponge pudding never seen sponge was undercooked and awful. Don’t advise this place at all Tried to email had no response

The atmosphere is always very friendly and the service is good. Seen a decline in food quality and taste. I've been coming her regular now for a few years. Fish has changed on the menu be aware. It's not cod anymore. The party i went with had the fish and chips, and everyone left the fish. I asked if it had changed, and the polite young lady said it had. I think it would have been nice to warn us before we ordered. The curry was really spicy and 🔥.. carvery was nice. It does seem like the chef changes quite a lot, and it does affect the food quality. The pie meal seems a good choice.

Me and the wife came for a bite to eat. We ordered 2 mixed grills. Food was way better then the last time we visited. Service was excellent. Staff were very polite and professional. We will be back again as last time we didn't like the food. I dunno if they changed the chef or were they getting the ingredients from but a massive improvement.

We had Lauren as our server and she was fantastic! Gave us plenty of information about menu times as we came in between switch over. Lovely food too!

Carvery was rubbish the carrots were black asked for fresh ones they were as bad roast potatoes were dried up couldn't cut them & Yorkshire pudding was the same

Food was absolutely amazing. We ordered X4 Carvery’s and drinks. The Carvery was very well organised. Staff are welcoming and friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. I would recommend people to come here. I have been here a few times now and will definitely be coming with with more extended family as the pub is great and the atmosphere is amazing and chilled. Staff are 100% friendly

Long wait for carvery to be replenished. The lady carving the meat wasn’t very hygienic, stood with fingers in her mouth and picking spots with no gloves and then starting handling meat . The old mash potato scoop was pulled out of the cupboard full of old mash on there to replenish the mash with new one. 15 mins wait for roast potatoes, all condiments needed to be replenished. We truly understand that Sunday is a busy day but as a well known green king franchise you’d think they would be already prepared However the cake was very delicious and made up for it

We ordered on the app and 15 minutes later our drinks still hadn't arrived. I went over to the bar to ask for them and noticed a tray of drinks just sat at the end of the bar. They were ours. Bartender said he was too busy and had kept serving people who were walking up to the bar and the rest of the staff had left them there. I mentioned to another member of staff that our drinks had been left and she said well I've been in a different area. Except she hadn't, she had been wandering around next to us removing reserved signs. There were plenty of staff milling about just not doing anything constructive sadly.

Had carvery breakfast it was nice and filling, and tea was have as much as you like great price.

Not been in for 7 years but decided to give it another go . Food was cold fish chips scampi chips cold the cake was dry. Service was slow not enough staff on but it was not busy 😔 won't be going back.

The beef on offer wasn't very good today, it was really dry, I couldn't eat it, so I basically had a plate of vegetables instead. My friend ordered the Scampi & it came with just peas & chips, she was expecting some salad garnish, so we won't be coming anymore.

Ordered a simple soup from the menu and not the carvery, which was cold on arival and not fresh. I would have at least expected that the staff who served my soup would have noticed this - but that's just a reflection of the staff qualifications (or lack there of) that I experienced here.

Had Christmas Day Lunch here this year (2024). Unfortunately I had to go on my own as my friend who was coming with me was ill. I have to say a huge, huge thank to the members of staff who bent over backwards looking after me. They made my Christmas Day for me.

We call in from time to time. Today (29, Dec) I was with my 9 year old granddaughter and we decided to have a roast dinner on spec so swung by. As ever, despite being run off their feet, the staff immediately accommodated us in a nice window seat. We got our tickets to find kids eat free today! AND get a free ice cream!!! Winner! Food was good. Meat moist and tender, (beef, turkey gammon) veg cooked through, hot and plentiful. Mash creamy and smooth. Whenever I visit, staff are pleasant, attentive and accommodating. Food is always piping hot and well prepared. Pub fare is varied and well presented. Carvery is tasty and properly cooked. Great spot.

Food was nice but Yorkshire puddings were hard the lady that served at bar needs to get some better customer service skills she was so glum

Had breakfast with santa, the breakfast chef sas made a brilliant tbreakfast, great customer service from Lauren and brit serving my little brother as an elf. Great team, was very busy and still worked amazingly under pressure

Booked Christmas fayre. Offered a table with barely a person width between already occupied table of 4. Greetings person was definitely miffed when we asked to be re-seated and it took her a while to sort this out. Eventually given table 68 which was falling apart. Bottle of balsamic vinegar on table kept falling over if table was touched. Nearly knocked over one of our drinks so moved bottle to another table. As we had pre-booked we had to ask a member of staff what the format was for getting our meals, drinks. Eventually we had lovely server who could not have been more helpful. Apart from frozen rather than fresh brussels, the main meal itself was lovely. The staff (apart from greeter) were lovely and all working really hard. On the whole, it was value for money but will not be going back anytime soon.

Your Gammon is very nice 👍 We came on the 22nd December and managed to get a table without a reservation, the service was friendly, speedy and professional. Carvey had a lot of choice for veg and the food quality was great.
