This place is really lovely. The people who run the cafe are always cheerful and pleasant. They love to chat with you if it’s not too busy and you feel very welcome. The food is great and the coffee making is first class. The cafe is a credit to the local church fellowship who run it. They are obviously a happy group of people who know how to serve in the local community.

Recently visited while on a roadtrip in the area. Greeted by friendly staff members. Turns out this week, all purchases went to charity at local hospital, this shows a lot about them. Food was fresh, great, hot and big portions. View was magbificant as well! Highly recommended!

Normally you have to choose: a nice, welcoming, family-friendly place…or good coffee. This café is a rare find because it absolutely delivers the best of both worlds. The pies, pastries and cakes are excellent, and it has a such a nice vibe. Very friendly staff, real community feel and EPIC views from the windows. It’s also so refreshing to have great coffee, without the superiority complex that sadly often comes with it…. highly recommended.

Une pause en attendant d'aller visiter le château de Dunvegan, et très agréable surprise que ce community cafe (not profit organisation). Belle vue, bons scones et gâteaux maison, pas cher... Bref, que du bon!

A lovely ‘community minded’ cafe in Dunvegan. Reasonable prices with a lovely atmosphere. Delicious food and coffee. Excellent staff - one even offered my little boy some binoculars to try and spot a seal or otter. Thank you again!

We stayed at Taigh Ailean for our trip to Skye. We also had the opportunity to eat dinner there (Breakfast was included with our stay.) The dinner was so delicious! The view is lovely as you can see the loch from the windows of the bar. All the staff is fantastic and so friendly! I had a great dinner and I would describe it, but the menu changes to suit what is in season and available from the sea. Whatever you get, I guarantee it will be the best! Make sure you call ahead and get a reservation as it fills up quickly. I know that they also have live music, which would be great, but we didn't have any while we were there.

We had some really delicious cake and tea. I would definitely recommend the banana chocolate cake and the apple caramel cake. The service was really nice and I would definitely stop there again.

Agree with the other reviews. This is an unlikely place to find at the end of the world. We felt welcomed and in the main enjoyed our stay. The only downside was the cost for the 2 of us. £200 for a snack, breakfast, plate of curry and a bunkhouse bed with no shower and a outside toilet seemed breathtaking expensive. To put this into perspective, we go to a nice hotel each year for a winter break, that's more than we pay per day at the hotel with vastly more civilized amenities. I do understand there are logistics involved at Cape wrath. However for an 'ordinary' local Scottish person I'd be looking to stay at sandwood bay and make a lunch trip to the cafe as I simply can't justify the cost/value. However, it is altogether improbably situated and a must experience if you are doing a long walk. Just be prepae your expectations.

Food was nice and service was, for the most part, friendly. One server seemed to be having a bad day. Brusque and barely civil. Very expensive for what was served.
