Dawaat Indian Restaurant in East Riding of Yorkshire

Been here many of times and tonight I ordered a take away. On every occasion food has been delicious. Definitely would recommend to anyone wanting a curry. Staff are helpful and polite, delivery was also very quick.

My wife and daughter accompanied me for an early evening meal. The food was both exceptionally tasty and well presented. The service was excellent and the atmosphere relaxed, we will certainly be calling again.

This was the first time I had visited since the restaurant changed it’s name so I presume that it has new owners.I visited with a friend on a Friday night and did not pre-book. The car park was full so we had to park on a housing estate but the restaurant wasn’t busy by any means. There were lots of people coming in to pick up take-aways.We sat in the window but it was a bit draughty.We ordered drinks first and then our meals: poppadoms and pickle tray to start followed by lamb Tikka Masalla for me (£12) and Aloo Doom (potato veggie dish) for my friend (£8), both with basmati rice and a garlic naan bread to share. Strangely both dishes were exactly the same colour and consistency but were extremely tasty. Some of my lamb was incredibly tender and some was unfortunately really quite chewy! We both enjoyed our meal nevertheless. We had difficulty attracting anyone’s attention to see the sweet menu. We both chose a pistachio Kofti Indian ice cream to finish.No-one ever came to ask if we wanted more drinks.Again we had difficulty trying to catch the waiter’s eye to get the bill which totalled about £40 with drinks.We will visit again but customer service could be improved.

Made my first visit yesterday and I can honestly say it is the best curry I have had in a long time I will definitely use it again and be saying goodbye to my old curry restaurant

Thank you for looking after us today, you couldn’t do enough for us. Delicious food. Very reasonable prices too. Can recommend and look forward to returning throughout the year and more than likely next Xmas day too.

We use this Restaurant as a takeaway as the quality of the food is very good, but we decided to eat in the restaurant recently and were pleased that there were other people in and that there was an atmosphere. The new friendly management have brought a fresh new vibe to the place and breathed life back into the restaurant. The food as usual was excellent.

Not been in since they changed. The guys were really friendly and helpful. The food was nice and fresh with good meat and all authentic. The sheek kebab was lovely but the smallest portion size ever. The curries were all nice and so was the rice and chips but one of the naan breads wasn’t good (undercooked). The service was a bit slow and we kept having to ask for drinks. All in all though good food, nice people and worth a visit. 8/10 for us due to a couple of things they could easily resolve.

Another outstanding meal, prices very reasonable and the staff cannot do more to help. Food was really excellent. Thanks again.

Eaten here a couple of times and also had a few takeaways. Consistently very tasty food and generous portions. The chicken tukri starter and chicken chilli massala are my favourites and my partner loves some of the currys with lamb. Meals are well presented. Good range of drinks & friendly service.

Ate here last week with a friend, 3 people in total. Food was fantastic, large choice and excellent quality and value. Service was 1st class, even though it was busy. The drinks flowed well but the total bill was still only £90! Cannot wait to go back, and cannot recommend more!

New owners have maintained standards, still one of the best Indian restaurants in Hull my favourite is the jalfrezi.

Excellent service and food, the staff are friendly and helpful. Not that expensive with great size portions too. Oh and will call a cab if needed on request.

We ordered a take away for Christmas Eve and everyone was impressed with the food, really good flavours. Ready in good time too. Will be back again.

I’ve been meaning to write a review on this restaurant for some time now. We visited early November on a Friday night, I’d been given good reviews from friends and family so was looking forward to eating there. The restaurant itself is impeccable,as are the staff, a really good choice of food and at reasonable prices. I most definitely will frequent this establishment in the future, so yes a big thumbs up, highly recommend.

We couldn’t fault the food, lots of choice, and good prices. The portions where large with lots of meat and well presented.
