Tried for the first time ...lovely fresh hot fish and chips, delicious will definitely have again and recommend to friends and family

I'm not usually a massive fan of fish and chips but these were absolutely delicious! Cooked fresh , friendly service, can't recommend highly enough!

Well worth the walk away from the town, the fish (locally caught hake) was absolutely amazing as were the chips. My love of fish and chips has returned thanks to Davids

Spotted the shop on passing, went in, friendly greeting, and we ordered the fish - cod. It was freshly cooked for us, and have got to say that it was the best fish that we have had from anywhere. Would definitely recommend, and will be back any time that we are visiting the area again.

Decided to try this place out based on glowing reviews and was not disappointed. Ordered online via the website and went and collected best fish and chips as a family we have ever had. Wished we lived closer to the area because this was seriously good.

Really good quality fish and chips. We had 6 lots delivered in boxes. Food arrived on time delivered by a friendly driver. All hot and freshly cooked. Brought some chips and they were really greasy honestly had to Chuck them away like the worst chips I’ve ever brought wouldnt of even gave them to the seagulls will not be coming back

We had been recommended to try David's. We were not disappointed. Quick service and fresh and tasty food. Only drawback is parking - or lack of. I did pull up in double yellows while Mrs D went into the shop - not too much of a problem on a November evening, but perhaps not so good in high season.

Best place for takeaway in Brixham. It is decently priced and portion sizes are good. Everytime I ask for some extra sauce they are happy to do it 10/10 customer service

Recommended by the owner of our holiday home. We were not disappointed. The cod was fresh and meaty with crisp batter. The chips were great and the mushy peas were fab. Not at all greasy and very hot.

After seeing the fanatic reviews thought we would give it a try on our first night of our holiday. Sad to say we were very disappinted. The chips were short sharp bits and caught on our throats and tasted like they had been kept warm. The fish I'm afraid was dry and a small portion and the cost of a small tub of mushy peas was extortionate at £1.80. I did however enjoy my Cornish Pasty. Rarely I give a bad review but I'm afraid I just cannot give David's a good review.

Great system for ordering and very welcoming and friendly staff. Sean was especially helpful, suggesting we try the Hake, which was fresh that day. The fish, batter, chips and mushy peas were delicious, the best we have ever had! Next time we are visiting, we’ll be back 😊

I left a glowing review about 2 years ago and I hoped that ithe food would be as good as i recalled ...so I am glad to say that this fish and chip shop was as exceas ever. The fish was beautifully cooked and fresh and the chips were 10 out of 10, and they were really hot and freshly cooked. The staff really nice too.

We had searched for the best rated fish and chips to visit in brixham - between here and simply fish ... so happy we went here!!It was slightly pricey for fish and chips but when you get quality im not going to complain! The batter was lovely and crispy and very tasty, we had a 13oz fish which is worth every penny!

Only went to David's because Afishiando's were closed. Server seemed a bit sour-faced. Chips were a bit greasy and the portions were tiny. I get that there is a regular and large size, but the regular size was measly, for 2.25 expect a little more (I seem to recall a saying cheap as chips).Lesson learnt. If Afishiando is not open, I won't bother next me.

After researching a good chippy, came across David’s and as it’s not in the centre it was easy to park up and take back to our lodge. Lovely chips not soggy and beautiful white cod. My husband had Hake and said it was one of the best. Well organised re social distancing.

Fresh fish always and well cooked chips means that you always get some of the best fish and chips in the south west, not just Brixham.

Always used David's and have always found the quality of their fish is brilliant.The staff are always very friendly and I often use the telephone ordering and have found it very easy to use and is very quick. The only thing that I would say is that if you turn up for your meal and the shop is busy ,you seem to join a queue which defeats the ordering timing . Perhaps one could have a separate queue for ordered meals at the preordered time ?Scott and staff are brilliant and the food is very fresh and well cooked . I don,t think that over the past 15 years we have never had a bad meal .Well done ,hopefully you will be open soon .

I rung an order through on the Friday night and it was all ready for the collection time on Saturday. The fish is fresh and with the chips beautifully cooked. All the staff are friendly and courteous. Always use David's, as is the best in Brixham.

Super friendly staff and good quality takeaway. By far the best in Brixham and much better than the other two high profile seafood eateries. Give them a miss as it's a waste of money. This is the best and it is consistent.

I pre-ordered via email for around twenty people on a flying visit to Brixham this weekend. From our first communication Scott at David's went out of his way to be helpful and accommodating. Our food was all ready at the prearranged time (before the shop was even open that day), each individually wrapped and named for my ease and all tasted fantastic. Ten out of ten all round - we all highly recommend!

We spent a wonderful week over New Year in Brixham, it was our first visit to the town. We ate in most nights but decided to treat ourselves to fish and chips on Friday night, after reading the reviews we decided on David’s. All I can say is WOW, the fish and chips were absolutely delicious, the fish was the freshest I’ve tasted and the chips were perfectly cooked. The price was very reasonable especially considering the quality and the lady who served me was warm and friendly.I’m only sorry we live 450 miles away......We have already booked to come back next New Year and will be heading straight to David’s

It was new year we were in Brixham and decided to go for fish and chips, I have to say they were blooming marvelous,I would definitely go again, I can't hold my hand on my heart and say they were the best in town as we were only there for a week but the other chippies will have to go some to beat these, lovely chips and a tasty big fish. Don't chance anywhere else just go here you won't be disappointed.

We have recently returned from another stay in Brixham where we have made a good habit of enjoying fish on two days, one 'proper' sit-down meal in a restaurant, and on another day also a good old takeaway fish and chips from David's, which is one of the highlights of our visit. The staff here are always cheery, and the gluten free fish and chips superb. Many thanks.

My wife and I were recommended this chip shop by her brother as he lives in the area. We got here just before it opened. Just as well we were second in the queue as it got busy after we ordered. This is obviously a popular chippy. Our fish and chips were cooked fresh and we didn’t have to wait too long for it. It was all tasty and the batter was good. We will certainly come here again when we are staying in the area.

Best Fish and Chips we have had in Brixham. It's been too long since we have had a takeaway from David's. But after tonight's amazing takeaway we will definitely be a regular customer. Excellent food and excellent service.

Good quality fish and chips, and a tasty veggie burger to boot. This place was excellent value for money. My only moan was that despite doing a good range of pies, there was no cheese & onion, making the veggie burger the only vegetarian option.

Lots of competition in the town, but this is the place we always head for. Freshly cooked Haddock is the best in Brixham, chips are always fresh and tasty and the staff couldn't be friendlier. Mandy who served us was very cheerful and efficient. A short walk from the town centre but well worth it, make the effort, you certainly won't be disappointed. Many thanks to you all, we'll be back

We had the best fish and chips ever from here twice during our holiday. Plenty of choice on the menu. The cod we had tasted fresh and was cooked to order. It's best to ring in advance as it gets very busy at popular times. Just outside main town or harbour so slightly easier to park. Highly recommend.

They can’t even cook chips properly, CHIPS... very disappointed ruined my day out, went in to the restaurant expected fresh and the chips were soggy and almost cold, It defeated the very reason to go to a fish and chop restaurant...

We visited this chip shop less than a week ago, the haddock was tasty although a bit greasy, the chips were only average as was the scampi but the mushy peas were awful, very watery and tasteless and they were warmed in the microwave as was the curry and they were both spilling over in the microwave, not very good organisation either

Fish and chips have been our great food, and living in Brixham we have tried most shops, but keep coming back for David’s. It’s a locals secret unlike the very obvious shops in the centre. Felt it was time to leave a well deserved review.

We visited David's on the back of the reviews everywhere for GF chips as I am Coeliac. We weren't disappointed. We turned up about 15 minutes before closing lunchtime, half expecting to be too late for GF chips to be fried, and quite prepared to come back when they re-opened for the evening. However, they were perfectly happy to fry my GF chips and they were delicious. I had a pot of baked beans with them since I am also vegetarian so no fish. My chips came in a box marked GF and everything was done separately as all other reviewers have commented on. My friend had normal chips and a sausage and was equally impressed.

Me and my family were here for the weekend, saw that David’s did gluten free (I’m coeliac) the gentleman over the phone was very knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions we had. The whole family ended up ordering from here. It’s nice to have somewhere that the staff have an amazing understanding of Coeliacs disease. Would recommended to anyone, gluten free or not. This is one of those rare fish and chip shops that offer a varied and good gluten free menu. In fact the gluten free is much better than the 'normal' fish and chips. Best to pre-order gluten free as they use a dedicated fryer and it may need to be heated up. Highly recommended. Only downside is the limited parking ion the road outside

If you are looking for a decent fish supper this is best place to pick up that meal. All cooked while you wait so you need to spare a little time. We had fish and chips, why have anything else. Served with friendly chatty staff. Need that seaside dinner this is the place.

Our favourite fish and chips and curry sauce in the UK. Scott and his team of friendly and ingredient knowledgeable staff are so helpful, especially if you’re like me, with gluten free, dairy free requirements. Scott caters for all dietary needs so not surprising he’s recognised for his and his teams efforts by collecting many awards. A great menu so something for everyone but without doubt, miles ahead of the rest.

We visited Davids fish and chip shop this week for the first time whilst on holiday in Brixham, we chose this fish and chip shop for all of the excellent reviews of its gluten free food, as I have allergies this would mean I could potentially eat there. I phoned up to pre order my gluten free fish and chips, which is generally recommended, as well as a normal fish and chips. Excellent service, amazing gluten free fish and chips which tasted great (and I wasn't ill so thumbs up for no cross contamination!)and great regular cod and chips, thanks to all there, if we visit Brixham again we will be going for tea here!

It took a while to get our fish and chips as it was busy there. However, it was worth the wait. Large fish and chips was a very large fish. It was tasty. No complaints from anyone in the family. :-)

We have haddock and chips every week and it damn good, delicious and fabulous.
