Ordered 2 kebabs and a large chips. Disappointed is an understatement. The kebabs had frozen chicken meat which was tasteless and bland, the doner meat was a slimy texture, and the chips were overcooked. Not to mention there was a bucket of them on the floor. We ordered a large portion of the chips and what we received can't even be described as a small portion. Will not be visiting again.

I went here with my nannar and grandad for a family meal the prices were ok not the best we had 3 fish and chips with sausage they gave us batter with no fish in whatsoever! The sausages were under cooked the chips we’re burnt they rushed the meal it was vile so we got home to eat them and rang up and explained the fish sausage and chips the came to us and gave us free fish chips sausage x3 and was better but won’t go there again . Hygine there was dust they have diffrent colleagues when I went with my mum bc the young girls were fired very disappointed.

I was served by a young girl who clearly new that the fish in breadcrumbs and the chips were burnt as I saw her ask if they were ok to another colleage. Yet they both proceeded to serve them! I did know untill I got back home and couldnt take them back as they just closed. Won't use Daves chip shop again.

Food not bad, have tasted better, can't really complain about the food, but the service is very slow.

Placed a phone order 1 hour before wanting to pick up but still had to wait 30 mins from them to slowly do the order, iv seen tortoise move quicker. Most of the food went in the bin as some was cold and others disgusting. When complained about the time waiting for a pre booked order they weren't bothered at all will never go again

Not impressed, food was disgusting, pudding tasted off , chips tasted like they we fryed last week. half the order was wrong . Rang to complain staff very rude, always used to go daves chippy , but won’t be going again.

Bland, under cooked chips.Thick and soggy batter on sausage and fish, and peas that were too runny and sweet. Such a shame because 3 years ago this was a fantastic chippy.

Why order online or hunt around in the freezer when you can visit a traditional fish and chippy! Dave who rant the shop has now passed on the batten ( or is that batter!), but little has changed. Generally cooked while you wait you won't find fresher fish and chips available in all portion sizes from minnow to whale!

What can I say fabulous, fish in crumbs to die for chips lovely and gravy without a lump . You can see why you get very nearly a 5. Forget milehouse give them a call at Dave’s and you’ll defo be glad you did. Thanks it was great really enjoyed it.

2 at a time in the store with friendly staff. Unfortunately during a period where we must wear masks when going into a shop, not one person was following the rules. There is no protection for the staff with either customers wearing face masks or any Perspex screens by the servers. I spent the night with chronic pains in my stomach. Been here loads of times in the past but won’t be going again.

Love it here, best chippy in Newcastle by far. Welcoming and never disappointing. They do specials and daytime value meals. My hubby won’t go anywhere else.

I called in Dave's for the first time in a while and ordered kebab and chips. They were very tasty and a generous portion. The service was a little slow, but the ladies in there are friendly and it has always been spotlessly clean. I will definitely be back.

Great food and good staff, sure you have to wait for quality food its not fast food its good food and thats the reason I keep going back and a lot cooked to order.

Always good value and good quality. Very good meal selection. Now under new management and expanding on Dave's menus.

chips looks as if fat not been changed black and greasy no joke here salid was rotten it was worst meal i ever seen from a chip shop staff rude and long waiting times serves all people they know first even though you made your order some others will come in like 5 people serve them first wont be back used eat from here gone vile check my pictures steer clear

Called at this chip shop over xmas on a monday tea time as the kids were hungry we had tried a different chip shop befor xmas and went to go back as the kids liked it even though was expensive and waited over an hour for food to find out it was closed over xmas, it was a blessing as we went to Dave's chippy and could not believe the choice on the menu and how realiably priced it was the kids loved it as they had the kids boxes with nuggets or a cheese burger chips or fries and a bottle of pop and the choice was really good fruit shoot fizzy pop or capri sun plus sweets and a colouring book and crayon kept the kids busy on the way home, I had fish and I have got to say the size of the fish I was amazed I expected average size for the price but it was bigger enough for 2 people and the chips were lovely everything was freshly made which not many chips shops are like that. To top it off the 3 staff were brilliant and nothing was too much trouble we waited 15 mins for the food which I didnt mind as it was all fresh and it feel like that long as the 3 women serving behind the counter made us very welcome and had fun with all the customers keep up the good work will definitely be using this chip shop from now on

Great fish and chips. Very tasty and freshly prepared. The potions are generous but not over facing. Th3 fish were cooked while we waited but were well worth the wait

We visited this traditional chippy, one of the few remaining in the area, last night and the fish and chips were excellent. Food freshly cooked and value for money.Sad to hear that Aspire want to close it down for "affordable flats "Sad loss to the community.

I’ve been about a dozen times in the past couple of months. I think the general quality of chip shops has deteriorated over the last few years but this one remains excellent.Good food, friendly service and reasonable prices make this a chippie worthy of a detour.

First time I visited this place and won’t be going back totally a rip-off money wise changed time for a bag of chips and give me a tray of chips!! Then the lad thought he was being clever and back fired with is yet non funny Wit in front of others!! Poorly wrapped up and I had to ask for a bag and is words was I have plenty we’ll give me one then ! Learn customer service and you might get more people visit you!! Up the road is better !! Don’t waste you money here !!

We called here by chance and I can honestly say they do the best chips , the gravy is fab, proper old school chip shop really great, did have to wait a good while to get served but I suppose this is due to the popularity which I totally understand , food is yummy, I will be returning next friday

It's ok if u like cheap food. It's never seemed to of changed. Get with the times! Spend a bit!! You've got a little gold mine there
