I lived in Thailand for three months and I never ate anything resembling the food that this "restaurant" churned out. The pad thai was a horrible clump of noodles in a uber mild chili sauce with some prawns in it, that's it, nothing else. The chicken satay was rubbery and unspiced, the satay sauce was a lumpy peanut butter that had been watered down, I didn't detect any chili or soy sauce or anything resembling flavour. I could go on but why bother? Was this a bad night for them, I really hope so, otherwise I am completely baffled as to how they manage to get any good reviews at all.

Green curry was grainy. It had cabbage in it. I don’t mind cabbage, but I’ve never seen a green curry with cabbage in and I’ve eaten in a lot of Thai restaurants and been to Thailand. Due to the strange texture and not great taste, I’m sad to say most of it went in the bin. Beef in the Thai beef salad was chewy as a bootstrap. None of the mint or basil or herbs I would usually associate with this dish but a strange collection of chopped veg that made it look like a Greek salad with beef on top. Tom yum goong was the only edible thing about our takeaway.

Everyone we have bought with us on our visits over the years have always been amazed as well and have returned with their friends and families. It's by far The Best restaurant in the area and BYO makes it even better. Daas family are amazing they always make you feel welcome and part of the family.Try the set menu for a taste bud adventure you will not be disappointed. Book in advance or try a tasty takeaway. We booked this restaurant in advance as other reviews han mentioned it gets booked up quickly. I was advised that there was a big event on, on the night we wanted to attend but a table would be made available for the 6 of us. I was also advised that we were to bring our own drink and that payment had to be made in cash. All of the above was helpful to know and we had an enjoyable evening, eating deliciously cooked Thai food. Please do go and try this restaurant if you are in the area. You will not be disappointed.

Will not be eating food from here again, was the worst takeaway I've ever had. The curries and soup were grainy with barely any flavour. None of the usual chilli, ginger and galangal in, instead there was broccoli in the green curry?! I was so upset as I was really looking forward to it! Usually order from somewhere else but they where closed today. I wouldn't waist your money if you are reading this.

Small little gem towards the top of Broadstairs high street. Quite small so they do two sittings every evening. The mixed starter (you'll need to ask for this as it's not on the menu) was huge; it could honestly have fed about 8 people rather than three. For main we had a red and green curry, pad thai as well as two further dishes that I cannot remember the name of. The food was fresh, not oily/greasy and very reasonably priced. The ability to take your own drink keeps the bill nice and light! Would recommend Da's to all; service was good and was nice to be thanked by Da for our custom on the way out!

When I lived locally I came to Da's regularly, since it opened. When visiting Broadstairs this summer it was high on my 'must do' list. I was not disappointed as it is as good as it always was. The owners are friendly and go out of their way to make the dining experience a pleasure. My vegan daughter was catered for and our party enjoyed a wonderful set menu with more than enough food for everyone. With the set menu only 15 pounds and a bring your own drinks policy (no charge for corkage) it is also a bargain night out. I look forward to returning again next year!

We all chose the set menu at £15.00 and I thought it was excellent value. A very varied starters, lots of tasty food to sample, including crispy battered prawns, pork toasties, satay chicken to name just a few and plenty of it. The mains was equally as tasty and staff were very friendly and attentive. We took our own drink, so this made it a very reasonable evening out. I don’t normally do negative reviews, but this place just took the biscuit snd there was clearly no point in raising any issues at the time. Went in at 8.30pm on a Thursday. I was told that although the kitchen was closing (8.30!), they could fit me in. I was told I had to sit at a pokey table in the far corner (rather than a nice looking window table that was free), as it was ‘nearer the kitchen’. Ordered egg fried rice and a chicken stir fry. The chicken stir fry was average to say the least. I have cooked significantly better at home. The ‘egg fried rice’ was essentially boiled rice with a couple of scallions thrown in. Absolute stodge. I can only think that the people that rate this place have clearly never had even average Thai food. Awful place. I am not a picky reviewer.

Another restaurant on our 'to do' list finally visited! Beautiful, authentic Thai food cooked by the adorable Da! A small and cosy restaurant (think around 24 covers?!) the decor is a bit tired but you know what it didn't matter, there's a great feel to this place, almost like eating at someone's house :) the staff are beyond friendly, very attentive and welcoming. The menu is extensive, where do you begin?! They offer a set menu but we ordered individually, I had a chicken green, my partner the chicken red, both delicious (if not a bit safe!) Plus we had egg fried rice. Generous portions so we were glad we didn't do starters (these looked amazing though!)Not licensed so took along our own alcohol (which we didn't have to pay corkage on) they offer 2 sittings, 6.45pm and 9.00pm this to me is the only downside as ideally I like to eat around 7.30-8, I appreciate it's the only way it can work in such a small place so I forgive them! Will definitely return as need to try more from the menu:) the cost of our meal? Less than £15!!!! You can't get a kebab for that! Would highly recommend.

The service was terrific and ready as soon as you needed it. Waiter was very attentive and pleasant. Small but roomy restaurant takes about 24 covers without being squashed in like some places. Wall has notice about gluten so they are aware but check on phone to be sure. We had our anniversary meal there and were very pleased with surroundings, but maybe not ultra romantic. Food cooked perfectly with a good selection and wonderful taste. Recommended highly, we will go back and take friends. Lunch and business better phone and check. Appears to be a family business so that's why you get the best food. A plus is that you take your own drinks so that can save you loads compared to other restaurants (including alcoholic) and the best clue about a good restaurant is repeat business. The staff seemed to know nearly all the customers eating and greeted them as they entered through the front door. Say no more! Go there, if you like Thai you won't be disappointed .

We've been trying to go here for ages, every time we try and book they're too busy. This time we got in, unfortunately! I don't know what all the fuss is about. Some may say its smallness is cute, I say it's cramped and tatty. Service was pleasant but not quite right. As for the food, what a shame. We all had the mixed starter, very poor, bad batter and tasteless. The mains were also lack luster. Cooked ok but lacking in any depth of flavour, the pad Thai was a shade of pink and again not good. The Panang was just too hot. I have had better Thai's from the supermarket. All of us love Thai food and have been to Thailand so know a good one. All the other Thai restaurants in the area are better, both food and service. Sorry I wanted to love this place but maybe only people who want cheap food go here and maybe they need to go elsewhere to make a good comparison.

First experience at Da's will be my last. I didn't like the attitude of the female ?owner who clearly hasn't learnt diplomacy. My visit was with a group of relatives and friends with their relatives. The relatives live in Australia and Israel. We were told very bluntly by this woman that they don't do tea (as requested by my Australian cousin), and they don't do crackers - Thai or Prawn. Both of these admissions surprised us, the humourless comment from the woman was simply 'we've been here for 20 (+)years and implied they didn't need to change how they serviced the customers. Quite frankly this is rude and because the dining experience wasn't greater than that of the many Thai restaurants in Thanet, I will not be a customer at Da's again, and will tell my extensive circle of friends and colleagues of my experience there.I'm sure this woman is arrogant enough to feel this will not be affect her business, and she may be right - I can only say there is high competition and several other good Thai restaurants within walking distance of Da's

This restaurant sadly lacks all the authentic Thai flavours. A complete lack of lemon grass, coriander, lime and ginger made for a dull and uninspiring dinnerThe Tom Kha Gai was a generous and quite tasty bowl of soup. But that's where it ended. The Thai beef salad lacked any authentic herbs and spices, and the essential lime , coriander and spring onion. Instead there was a distinct taste and texture of seeded mustard. The prawn dish tasteless but by far the worst Pad Thai ever. A mush of soggy noodles and boiled chicken smothered in a tomato sauce that could have come from Dolmio. No bean sprouts, no chopped peanuts . Next time we'll save ourselves for the fabulous, flavoursome , authentic tastes of our favourite Thai Orchid in Ramsgate.

Da's is very much on the list of 'great places to eat in Broadstairs'. From the humble take-away beginning's in Margate and now for some 20 years in Broadstairs, Da is still producing wonderful Thai food. We would highly recommend the mixed starters that have to always include the crispy wantons and sate. My favourite main course is the red chicken curry - such a favourite that when I am there it is just delivered, as I never waiver and it is always my first choice. You can also take your own wine etc. A great little diner, but always book to avoid disappointment!

Good atmosphere friendly service. The food was the best ,it was the first any of our family had tried Thai food. Can't wait to go back it totally lived up to what friends and neighbours had told us.
