Beautiful place to visit so peaceful very relaxing lots of interesting things to discover plenty to do for all age groups

Beautiful, wild nature perfect for hiking. Many lovely villages where you can have a Yorkshire cup of tea and local ice cream.

Visited at Easter weekend. Lovely spot, nestled in a valley so on a bright day you're well protected from any winds. Access to gardens and grounds, no access to the Hall itself (certainly not on the day we were there, a lady removing bits and pieces from the Hall made that very clear). Nice short walk, 10 minutes from the Hall, north to a viewing spot where you can look further up the valley at the stream and footpath below you and the walkers and families enjoying the fresh air and countryside. Good views from the Hall looking south up to Simon's seat. Struck me as a little expensive (£9) for what there was to see, but it did have a great cafe with some lovely, locally made, brownies.

Malham cove and they have a guest visiting centre to park you car at £5.50 till they close. Park and cross over road and follow the signs. Where sensible shoes it's very uneven in some places. Keep going up and over once you have seen the first waterfall. Keep your dogs on leads.

Great 10 mile 3.5hr walk (not round) past upper and lower reservoirs on Barden Moor. Parked over cattle grid near the sign. Simons seat in the distant, views for miles, lots of red grouse, had our lunch stop in the beaters shelter, windy but lovely 😎😁 water spilling out of the upper res, down the valley... I could've watch it all day! Part of Bolton Abbey estate so not sure dogs allowed (they need the grouse to nest 😕) but good paths to follow

The Yorkshire Dales National Park was a joint writer of the updated countryside code but are not attempting to implement it. There seems to be the right to trample on many of the pastures at Linton Falls and walkers and other visitors do not stick to public footpaths. Visitors often come for the day and bring sports equipment, cricket wickets and the like and damage the grass. The river there is a dangerous environment to play in and the public seem unaware of the risks involved with playing in cold water. The lack of buoyancy aids seem to be non existant. Loss of life seems at risk.

Beautiful Yorkshire Dales that sums it up nicely, flowing rivers, rolling hills. Villages tucked in on route, lots of coffee & tea houses with cakes & sandwiches.

It's the Dales. Beautiful sweeping roads and open countryside, with picture card villages, castles and rolling hills. What's not too like!

What a beautiful, quaint, scenic, wild and atmospheric place. From picturesque villages to wild windswept moors, cosy pubs with log fires and miles and miles of footpaths and trails to explore. I had a fabulous couple of days exploring in my motorhome, can’t wait to go back.

Beautifu Dales !!! Must visit. Sometimes they are prettier than Scotland

Popular with well marked trails. Upper Falls, when wet, needs sound footwear for mud. Middle and Lower falls, pretty good underfoot, even when wet. Allow two hours - longer if picnicing or using the tearooms. £3.50 for two hours use of the tended, safe amenities is fair.

Sedbergh, an absolutely stunning place and such dark skies, perfect for Astrophotographers and stargazers.

The Yorkshire Dales is simply a beautiful place to visit. Stunning scenic walks with villages and Hamlets a plenty to visit too. Treat with respect , the landscape and the homesteads ...It's not a ' theme park. ..and for walkers, beware of the quickly changing climate ...the cold and rain can envelop you very quickly !!!

It's a stunning place to visit . So beautiful and still rural , hardly urbanised at all thank god. Still farming first .

There aren't words to express how I feel about the Dales. Some people just don't know how much they need to stop and breathe and be surrounded by green. And the sound of running water...

Stunning scenery, great walks and friendly people. When the weather is kind to you this area takes some beating.

Took a motorcycle tour around the dales with a friend for the first time , and wow just stunning views. Roads are twisty and sheep are flocking to the noise, so slow and gentle to admire the views and pheasants with sun or fog equally pleasant . Will be back to admire it all again soon… what’s more to say the pics alone should will you to head the the area and enjoy. And get home after fully refreshed and revitalised …

The Yorkshire Dales National Park is stunning and quite varied in landscape. An essential place to visit and a friendly rival to Snowdonia, the Highlands and Lake District National Park.

If you are around Yorkshire this is must visit place if you want some adventure trekking experience. The whole Yorkshire dales is scenic. We had been to grassington, gordale scar , malham cove.

An amazing place to visit, enjoy the scenery, the quiet roads, the sheep, the drystone walls and the fresh air! Lots of walks and bike rides to do and places to see!

Quiet , unspoilt space and amazing landscapes.

You cannot beat the beautiful Yorkshire Dale's landscape. It is like nowhere else in the world. Rolling hills full of calm.

The Yorkshire Dales National Park is a great place to visit, to walk, and to enjoy. We visited in the middle of lambing season, which was fun. The parts of The Dales Way we walked were easy, well-groomed, and lovely. And The Red Lion in Burnsall was beautiful, comfortable, and full of very helpful people.

Loads of stuff to do, great place in England

One of the most beautiful National Parks I have seen in the UK. The countryside is very scenic, its peple are warm and welcoming. Full of hidden gems both food-wise and from a scenery perspective. The 3 peaks challenge is certainly worth doing, it was a pleasure meeting so many hikers along the circuit. The kind of place where everyone greets everyone and a sense of community is breathing through the air.

Loved Reeth Community Orchard, obviously such a lot of hard work to renovate it. It looks fabulous now, and the sculptures are a lovely addition.

There is a great circular walk from Settle. Waterfall, Packhorse Bridge and superb views. Nice pint in Settle when finished.

Had a brilliant weekend exploring on my New motorcycle. There are plenty of cheap place's out by Grassington to park up live in vehicles and motorhomes. Prices ranging from £10 per night. But there are no facilities at the£10 per night park up and unfortunately at some no tent's permitted. But also plenty of site's with all facilities. Depends on what you are looking for. I would recommend to anyone to give the Yorkshire Dales a visit. I had no plans or end destination so just took any road that looked good. But came across waterfalls and plenty of wildlife. So for you people that like to plan things, there is plenty to do and see. And I hope you have as much fun exploring as I did.

Area is filled with beauty and history, the landscape is like nothing I seen before. Recommend joining a day tour group to see all the sights

We are so lucky living in the North West of England to be just a couple of hours away, by car, from some of the best walking country in the world. These photos are from Bainbridge in the Yorkshire Dales. It has a look and feel all of its own, The trails and vistas bring to mind the Peak District, the Lake District and the North York Moors, yet they are distinct.

What an experience travelling from Carlisle to Preston via Appleby, Ribble Head and Settle on a steam train. Fantastic scenery especially when looking out of the left of the carriage in rhe direction of travel.

Park up & go walking or cycling for a day in the countryside, the views and fresh are are lovely. Also dotted around you will find local visitor spots all over the Dales to enjoy (best to Google and search these locations before setting off, so you don't clog up the many narrow B roads due to miss-turns).

Should spend more time there but don't let them know south of South of Watford Gap

Decent hiking routes for beginners.

Un magnifico Parco Nazionale scoperto per caso. Nelle guide in nostro possesso solo indicazioni molto vaghe. E' un territorio molto caratteristico per i rilievi rotondeggianti e per i prati delimitati da regolari muri a secco, molto particolari. Bellissimi i villaggi che si incontrano. La zona è ideale per trascorrere una vacanza in tranquillità...

Visited malham cove, gordale scar and Janet's Foss. Beautiful spectacular walk, well sign posted. Highly recommended.

The scenary is second to none absolutely amazing.

Absolutely stunning. Also where the Witcher 2 was filmed partly!

Just go you'll understand the 5 stars. Unless you don't like walking, cycling, scenery, motorcycling, in which case stay at home.

Tough to watch the stars at night, yet still worth few hours of drive for the sheep.

If you are into geography this is the standout location in the UK to visit for limestone features. Beware of trying to climb the falls at Gordale Scar after rainfall. Not recommend for people carrying babies in backpacks as you will be climbing using all fours and it is easy to slip in damp conditions

Beautiful amazing scenery. Stayed in Settle for 2 nights at The Golden Lion. Great base to explore surrounding area. Try their Settle pud. A meat & suet pastry dish. Absolutely fab. Travelled over the dales to Harrogate. Will definitely return.

Back of beyond but love traveling here to visit my friend in Garsdale. Absolutely beautiful 😍

Well Green and barns in Great Asby.

Wonderful scenery and less crowded than the Lake District. Hills are lower and walking is easier.

Can I give it 10 stars? Beautiful hills and dales, characterful towns and villages, great pubs, etc etc. THE best place to relax or be active. Only problem is the almost complete lack of public transport in most parts.

Bolton abbey, had a good walk and the pictures are of Barden Moors with all the autumn colours not to be missed.

Fabulous scenery and on this occasion the toughest motorcycle trial you'll ever see and it's free.

Chose to stop at the dales on way up to Scotland with boyfriend, camper and dogs. Woke up next to the ribblehead viaduct - what a beautiful place! After a super walk under the viaduct, which is also next to the highest peak in the dales, we drove up past the Wensleydale creamery and the village of Hawes. What an absolutely perfect place and the people are so nice and love to have a laugh with you! From there we drove through swaledale and fell in love .... We will be coming back on way down from Scotland!!
