Damon's in Lincoln

It was great food service and music 🎶 just super crowded when we were there and I didn't like sitting so close to other people it's quite squeezy how we were seated I'd prefer if it was easier to sit in a private corner especially for a couple,you can't understand a word you wanna talk while sitting very close to strangers

Atmosphere was very good with live singer and starters were how we remembered very nice, coleslaw is nice but not as nice as other times. Main food came out ordered 2x burgers would not recommend, burger sauce was vile so had to remove buns from both burgers, chicken burger was definitely not as described came out covered in golden breadcrumbs not southern fried. Both burgers just tasted like salt. The beef burger was edible but could've knocked up something alot better at home or a rustler burger. Not worth the money but the service was brilliant and they did knock the price of the chicken burger off the final bill. Feel really disappointed as this was a celebration meal, will not be returning.

First time to Damon, we had the famous ribs and roasted chicken, it’s a classic ribs place, foods were good, slightly sweet for me but still very yummy. Staff were very nice as well. There was live music there. Saw many people were there to celebrate their birthday today.

Bang average. Majorly overpriced and not worth the money. Atmosphere is nice and so were the hosts but it is literally just like iceland food on a grill, was expecting a lot more. Could have made this meal myself for £10 it cost £50! Daylight robbery to be honest

Food good, service good. Only issue was took a while to get served. Rang at 7.10pm for a table at 7.45pm the same evening. Got there 10 minutes early to get sorted only to be told table wouldn't ready till 8pm and they closed at 9pm. Had to order, then wait and then rush our food.

Went for Granddaughter's 18th Birthday, really enjoyed it ,the food was lovely, staff very attentive, a good experience

Absolutely terrible service from the manager we had raw chicken with a share plater, he did offer something else but we didn't want to eat after that! and he only wanted to take a little over £9.00 of the bill a total joke would only offer half the meal cost ( whi h we did pay) but as it was a share combo platter it was all on one plate so neither of use could eat it. Will never go back and live In lincoln so have eaten there many times including breakfast. The manager at this time certainly needs better customer care was very arrogant... Very disappointing

Happy hour from 4pm to 7.30.drink and chicken wings . Please don't serve those as it contained too much salt. When it came to our dinner for 7.30. I need to tell you, the ribs melt off the bone, we eat everything. It was awesome and worth every dime. So for that I have to give them full marks.

Been wanting to go here for years. Finally been and was definitely not disappointed. Friendly staff nothing too much trouble and the food was spot on!!

The quality of the food to the price is very poor our order was £71 for me and the wife I would rate the food at a cost of £30 at most for the quality we had I’d say if you was very drunk the food would probably taste amazing like it would at a kebab house but definitely wouldn’t go again although the staff was very good

Wouldn’t waste your money, ordered a steak advertised as a New York strip at 8oz asked for rare, came as photo shows a close to medium well and was actually the ridiculously cheaper cut of rump. I’m head chef of a steak house so think I’d know: the table next to us also complained about not receiving the correct cut they’d paid for. And guiness served in a John smiths glass with a single pour, no break. Simply awful don’t waste your money here. Hanging on to their previously brilliant reputation but clearly stoked caring

There was hardly anyone in tonight, I've never seen the place so empty, had a really nice meal though. If I have a complaint about this place it's that they don't have a clue what background music is. Whatever they is always too loud so you have to raise your voice to have a conversation and everyone else is doing the same which makes it really noisy even on a night like tonight. To make matters worse they have live trip playing part of the time and they make even more noise.

Went as part of large group for family occasion. My partner ordered a chicken burger, arrived pink in the middle so sent it back. About 15 minutes later it was returned by the time most of the table had finished their meals. Looked away for a moment and they took our half eaten plates that were unfinished just taking our time, without asking. Complained and they did refund his meal eventually just the whole experience not up to scratch, used to love going here for occasions. Very cramped and limited spacing between tables, especially with staff running around. Won’t be back anymore.

Outdoor table with a loving view, food not bad, but could be more presentable by larger plates. Opened for only 3 months, love to see improvement when re-visit later.

Just got home from Damond's. I have given it a five star rating because of the friendly helpful service There were sixteen of us family birthday. Damond's is renown locally for it's ribs. Fifteen out of the sixteen had these in various ways. They as expected received praise, I was handed one to try. I did and felt guilty not making it unanimous. Regrettably, I choose the LARGE haddock. It was clear upon arrival that my definition and thankfully local chippies are, though I am sure the manager of Damond’s will investigate. I thought when I looked at it there would be another with it to meet the expectation of the buyer, clearly I was pip with great expectation, My local chippy a large fish would require three of the plates. The other thing which always bugs me is why is the baby changing station in the disabled. Go for what they are renowned for, then I would suggest they would be given five stars.

Food was delicious, I had the ribs with buttery mash and Boston beans. It was just the right amount. We wanted baked Potato's but unfortunately they didn't have any, which seemed odd for a Saturday. Couple of problems with wrong food being delivered which was rectified.

If you like American diners or Frankie n Bennies, you'll love this. A circular building enclosing a central bar with large tvs, surrounded by American diner style booths. Great service and lovely food. It has a reputation for its steaks and grills. Also has live acts each weekend. Happy hour cocktails and a reasonable choice of drinks. 20% discount for Damon's hotel guests.

It was cozy, the food was good and plentiful, and the staff was extremely friendly. There are pictures of older actors everywhere. There is live music there too! Gladly again and again.

We had the pleasure of attending Damons for a celebration yesterday. Jacob served us and what a star he is! 🌟 He has knowledge of the food and steered me in the right direction as well as being a thoroughly nice character. I had a perfectly made steak and rib combo which melted in my mouth. The rest of our party all had excellent food which they enjoyed too 🥰 I may have found a new favourite eatery! As I was driving I had the virgin banana daiquiri and it was gorgous 😋 Thanks to the Damons team for a great time!

Called in for breakfast. Two ladies on duty were so friendly and on the ball. Only gave 4 stars for atmosphere cos not many people in restaurant. Definitely a place to go.

Food across the whole order was filling and tasty. Not quite homwcooked and not everything on the menu was available.

Had an amazing birthday here! Service was brilliant from the minute we walked in from the guy greeting us at the door to our lovely server Kiera. Food was great, we had the onion loaf to start, we both had a combo meal (ribs & chicken) and then we had a dessert each, oh and a couple of cheeky cocktails. I do not have 1 single complaint about our evening at Damon’s!

From the time we walked in we was very welcomed all staff were very professional and polite. There was a lovely lady Tammy who welcomed us into the restaurant and Connor who served well and very great with the children. Couldn’t fault here it was amazing and will be coming back to get a room and enjoy the live music and cocktails!

Everything was satisfactory. We were returning from Skegness and decided to make a stop along the way for refreshments. The service was standard, but the establishment itself was impressive. The ambiance was remarkable, and the service was exceptional. The staff was very friendly, and I would highly recommend a return visit.✌️

Not sure what to make of it. Hickory's has opened round the corner and my man comes from birchwood and insisted Damon's would be better. Wow. the ribs wernt that special, wasn't sure about them shouting our names on a tannoy and the 'combi' was very expensive. Expensive food for what It is. Seems to be a Lincoln culture thing but to outsiders beyond the Lincolnshire border, it is a very odd experience. Very over priced generic ribs and burgers. Music in the music was strange too. Again, a Lincoln culture. I won't be back. Over priced, the owner sat at the bar grimacing. Wouldn't recommend. Onion loaf is just stringy onions on a plate. Don't understand Lincolns hype with Damon's.

Great food, service and live music a bonus

Only popped in for cocktails during happy hour (4-7pm). Excellent service and even got a free dish of chicken wings! Will definitely return 😋

The atmosphere was very good. Quite a few people and live music giving the place a "buzz". Staff were excellent. Our waitress, Alisa, very attentive and helpful with the menu. The food was really good and has enough choice to keep most people quite happy. The thick pork and tomahawk pork chop (cooked medium) were superb. I did think the prices were a bit on the high side but the meals were good quality. I will certainly go again when I next visit Lincoln.

Stayed at the motel while visiting Lincoln and had a meal and cocktails. Food was delicious and baked potatoes fantastic. As was breakfast the next morning. On the plus side 20% of our meal as staying in motel. We booked bed and breakfast, room was clean and comfortable

Stumbled on this place from the nearby main road ; wish we had driven on! Where to start?? -- the gaudy cheap nightclub decoration, the staff so far up themselves it's untrue, the awful cabaret............ Do yourself a favour & give this place a wide berth.

Damons used to be great but not anymore! The Burger wasn`t too bad but couldn`t see or taste any Rib Meat on it. The "Steak Cut" Chips were frozen standard Chips barely cooked. The Boston Beans were standard baked Beans which i can only describe as coming with a few bits of Spam chopped onto it and the coleslaw was Tesco budget rubbish. We won`t be back.

My family moved away from Lincoln nearly 18 years ago, we were back there over the weekend so thought a visit to Damons was on the cards. Our server Mia was efficient and attentive, nothing too much trouble, a bundle of energy 😁. The food came fast and hot, I had the ribs of course, my wife the fajitas and my daughter the burger, all delicious, deserts were lovely also. Good fun atmosphere great food and staff, glad some things don't change 😀.

Went to this place as the reviews looked ok however the guy on the door was abruptly rude and about an hour after leaving I fell ill. Would DEFINITELY not go back, would be better off getting food from the services opposite! Ruined the end of our week away.

Far too expensive now you're pricing yourself out of the market by being too greedy. Been in July around 6 pm not busy probably because people are tired of paying well over the top for food . GREEDY

An absolutely dreadful attitude from the doorman, just because I was alone, wearing jeans and t-shirt (I was staying in the hotel). Didn't stay for food.

You can't beat Damons for its classic bbq sauce, ribs, buffalo wings and twice baked potato. I've been coming here for decades. However, the loss of the warm bread rolls and replacement with cold baps that noone eats is a real come down. The coleslaw has changed significantly over the years too. It used to be amazing but now borders on tasteless. The free kids meals are great but we wouldn't have gone without this discount because it's just too expensive for a family of 5 otherwise. Bring back the old style bread and coleslaw please Damons! 🙏

We visited today, 2 adults and 2 children. The food is mediocre at best, cheap bread rolls, coleslaw and chips and it all felt very ‘boil in the bag’. Overpriced and not the best service. It’s such shame as it has the capacity to be a great steak house/diner, but misses on every angle. Very underwhelmed. We won’t be returning.

Not been to Damons in years so thought that I would revisit with my Daughter. The 1 star rating is for the staff only, customer service was good however that's were the compliments stop. Damons signature dish is the ribs, now that's scary as they were awful, just warm, average size, clearly frozen and most definitely microwaved, it would be fair to say that I was shocked however my Daughter and I had a good laugh about them. Regretful we went with it however I'm now waiting for the aftermath, time spent on the toilet, Damons might have their revenge for my 1 star rating 😆. The bill came and my Daughter and I just sat there laughing, amazed that we had the worst dining experience and paid £70 for the pleasure. So in Costa now washing the taste away with a coffee. It's been an hour now and all good so far, however it's a waiting game. Avoid it's overpriced, overhyped, the food is awful and frozen packed. I've had better ribs from ASDA's and Iceland. Shocking. Loved dinner here. I would definitely recommend it. Chicken tenders and strips were great, the mustard honey dipping sauce was an absolute favourite with everyone. The burgers are delicious and filling, the coleslaw declared the best anywhere. It's a bit pricey but for the portion sizes and quality of the food really worth it. There was no live music when we visited but the atmosphere and especially the lovely staff made up for it. Kiera was an absolute star, very attentive, helpful and super friendly. ♥

If you're a child of the 80's/90's from the area you'll probably remember Damons with fondness if your parents took you. A packed bar in the middle, waiting for an in-demand seat and quality cocktails. Not anymore. We pulled up outside and the good lady who has never been here before said it looked like a load of chavs wearing tracksuits and trainers were on day release, stood outside the main doors carrying on and being advised to step away by the doorman. We should have known that the omens were not good from this point on. Damons used to have a vibe, a 20's/30's American vibe that was befitting somewhere that would not be out of place in Vegas. Now it has a 'singer' singing so loud and out of genre that it is painful. I love a good rendition of Sweet Caroline and the Bear Necessities but not while I'm trying to tuck into my freshly delivered ribs. You either want a restaurant or a karaoke bar not very often do you want both together. The food has gone downhill massively and the place I remembered with such fondness was embarrassing to take my partner and friends to. Do you want tacky music? Microwaved chips? Coleslaw from Happy Shopper and ribs out of a bag? This is the place for you! On the other hand, the breakfast staff and vibe were second to none. They were awesome. Couldn't do enough to make sure we were well catered for. Hats off to them 👏 👏 👏

Haven't been in over 20 years since moving abroad, but hasn't changed. Onion loaf and mushrooms are still tasty. Steak and ribs were cooked well. Coleslaw was just as I remembered. Just not sure on all these gratuity payments that England are adding on the bill, or asking if you want to add on to the bill? Are we going down the American road of tipping? I like to see on the menu what I'm paying, I work it all out then. Don't like additions at the end, or the embarrassment of not tipping.

We haven't been to Damons in about 8 years. But we tried the new restaurant called Hickerys and we where not impressed. We thought let's give Damon's a go. When we got there we got shown to a table up some steps. I am disabled and asked if we could change it because of my disability. The lady went and asked the person on reception. It was no trouble to sit us at another table. The food was lovely. If I had to make a comment on the food, it was the bread roll we had. What has happened to the warm parbake rolls. I loved them. The coleslaw was the same. I could eat a bucket of that alone. The ribs and chicken was how I remember it. The waitress was lovely and gave us time to order but kept coming back to see if we where ready to order. We will be going back again very soon I hope. All in all I would recommend Damon's.

Really friendly staff, our server Connor was highly attentive and great for recommendations when I was looking to swap items. Decor is old Americana, with dining and drinking areas. Was quick to get seated, as well as having discounts for staying at the hotel that is next door. I ordered the French toast with mixed has browns and eggs to order, food once ordered was quick to turn up, with it being the morning we got free refills on tea and coffee. Toast was thick with a side of maple syrup. Seems like a great place to eat before heading into London as it's around 25 minutes from the centre.

On arrival we were made to sit in the bar area and wait 15 minutes for a table . One of our guest had a severe Tomato allergy and was not asked once on arrival if we had any allergies or dietary requirements. Being an Assistant Manager of a restaurant myself I know how important this is with how unsafe allergies can be . I would like you to take this serious as my bestfriend could have died and your team at the Damon Lincoln did not once ask as I previously said .She asked for no tomato’s but yet when the food arrived there was a tomato on her plate which again here partner had to remove for her due to the severe allergies. Onto food arriving we ordered 4 lots of toast , 2 standard breakfast , 1 sausage & egg with toast and one mini breakfast with not tomatos. We got 2 standard breakfast , one large breakfast and a mini breakfast with tomato ( after requesting with no tomatoes ) When we finally got our breakfast after waiting 25 minutes for it to arrive we then had to wait a further 40 minutes for a toast and cold drinks to arrive , this was after asking the team in your Lincoln restaurant 4 times where our toast and juices was . We looked around the restaurant to see that other tables were all having their toast and cold drinks delivered before their breakfast whilst we continued to wait and had to ask for a further 5th time ! I found this very unorganised and shouldn’t have to ask 5 times for something in a restaurant as you would only have to ask once in my restaurant and would have the guest needs seen to straight away ! The breakfast when arriving was stone cold , the scrambled eggs on 2 of our breakfast we’re like rubber , the fried eggs where freezing , the bacon was like concrete, beans where cold and the sausage was actually okay surprisingly. Overall the restaurant lets the hotel down massively and seriously needs to be looked at and team require further training on allergies and basic service skills as the wait time was unbearable.

Evening meal on the first night was very nice, when we asked for desserts the menus one of them was out of date and showed 50p cheaper on all items. Waiter stood in front of the table and had a good old rummage down his trousers and then proceeded to sniff his fingers. Second evening meal was great and enjoyed the main course, however we shared a combo and were 'given' a serving of fries, only to find out that they appeared on the bill. Breakfast... didn't happen, we asked for a table for 2, told there was a 5-10 minute wait and they would come and get us when there was a table, 3 parties came in after us and were told the same, all 3 were called, we were left waiting. By this time we'd sort of given up. Went to Waitrose for a bacon butty and a coffee, but that's another story.

Damon's Restaurant specialises in pork ribs, although you can buy other dishes including steak, lobster etc. However the main reason for coming should be the ribs. The ribs are the best i have ever had and are tender tasty. Also there is something very special about their coleslaw which i really suggest that you try too.

Not a fan, it's expensive and the portion size has greatly reduced since I last visited.

We're In Lincolnshire on holiday and my son in law and daughter took us here for my wife's birthday and father's day combined treat, we had to travel 50 miles from where we were to meet them and because of traffic (a Sunday) we were 30 minutes late. The restaurant kept our table for us after my son in law explained the situation, the place is an American theme type restaurant with live music, very clean and organised well, the service was very good and the staff were helpful and friendly. The food was lovely and they had a good range, I had a full rack of ribs which had been cooked for 16 hours fell off the bone as you ate them, it came with a choice of sides. Kids eat free and beers and wines are served at the table, we weren't rushed to eat and move on it felt like a really relaxed place and the live music was very good. After the meal we went to the bar area to have a last drink before leaving, as we took our seats the guy who had been playing a saxophone throughout the dinner finished but another singer came on so the entertainment continued. I can't comment on the prices because as I said it was a treat, but I did see that the rack of ribs with Chips and coleslaw was nearly £25 which may give you some idea. All in all, a lovely unexpected day spent with my family at a very nice place which I would happily return to.

We called into Damons for a trip down memory lane while out near Lincoln. The one near us closed down a few years ago. Honestly, I wish we hadn't bothered. Service was reasonably quick, even though we ordered 4 glasses of coke with no ice, and they brought 4 cokes with ice! My wife ordered garden peas with her meal and they brought her baked beans. and we asked for one bowl of coleslaw, and they brought 2. The ribs I ordered tasted quite nice but they had lots of bone splinters on one end from where they had been butchered. Damons was nothing like we remembered it, so I don't think we would ever consider returning, nor would I recommend it to anyone.

The most chaotic dinner experience I've ever had. There was a live singer on, and although he was very good, it was so unbelievably loud that not only could I not hear the people I was sat with, I couldn't hear myself think either. The songs were very cruise ship, lovey dovey and cheese loaded with cheese. Then, after every single table around us finished their meal and left, they'd come out with a hoover and vacuum underneath every single one. And finally, if you go as a party of 5, you're sat at a table for 4 with one squeezed onto the end. The food was ok. Cheap and cheerful. Warm enough, not dry, but nothing to write home about.

Frozen ribs deffo not worth the money management and door staff absolute joke

I'm a regular go'er of Damons and my normal experience is good but somewhat subdued as we normally go in the day rather than evening, but when we walked in Saturday night the place was buzzing! Rat-pack music was being well sang by the entertainer, people were dancing, folk were laughing, cheering and clapping and the place felt alive and it certainly felt more like an American diner in the 50's. The food was great, service was good and all around a superb experience. My only complaint if being critical was the price, it seems to have crept up significantly in the past year but not enough of a gripe to remove a star. Damons, keep doing this as it really worked IMO

First time visit although we have visited the Damon’s that used to be in Liverpool. We loved the atmosphere and the food was amazing. Our waitress was really attentive and the food was quick to come, fresh and tasted amazing. The live singer (Mikey Powell) was fabulous. There is a great cocktail bar with a great variety of cocktails. Prices were incredibly reasonable. We will be back.

I visited Damon’s in Speke about 20 years ago and I remember their ribs and onion loaf were to die for, so Lincoln had a lot to live up to, but it didn’t disappoint. The ribs were even better than I remember. Amazing food, great value, great staff, fab entertainment and atmosphere. Definitely visiting again!

I love this place, it's not changed in decades. Live jazz music, fantastic ribs. The only thing they could improve is the menus look like they belong in a roadside cafe. Very odd.

Use to love this place but no more. After a horrible experience with food and service and sending a private email to owner, I will no longer be a patron to this restaurant. Very unprofessional and cares little about your dinning experience.
