Damon's in Lincoln

Been here many times with all different people they’ve worn trackys sliders even slippers always been let in and enjoyed my meal however recently I went with my fella and friends for a date when the 2 security men at the front attitudes was appalling I would usually recommend but how they was towards my fella and how they spoke about him is disgusting now I don’t know if it was racially motivated because their was no other reason for them to be the way they was I would love to speak to someone hire up and see how they think that’s acceptable.

Great staff, friendly and the breakfast food was very tasty

This is the first time I have visited this restaurant and it certainly will not be the last. Everything was first class as indicated by the 5 star ratings in all categories.

For breakfast the Pancakes are amazing. French toast is also pretty good.

Fantastic breakfast here this morning. I can never look at a sausage and bacon bap in the same way after having a sausage patty with so much flavour! The French Toast was thick and flavourful too. Felt like a proper authentic American Diner experience. Will return next time for evening food too.

American customer here. Good portions. Friendly staff. I came in to place a to go order for Monday lunch. My order only took around 15 minutes. I thought the prices were fair as well. Will visit this place again when in the area again.

Went for breakfast and can highly recommend! Delicious food, coffee refills done by the waiting staff who were very pleasant.

The food is nowhere near as good as it used to be ...cheap cold bread buns not very appetising compared to the warm bread that was always served. The place is looking very tired and really in need if a makeover. Only half full at the time yet my husband never did get the drink he asked for during the meal. What happened to the birthday cake? it was always brought out at the end of the meal ...we had to ask for the cake we fortunately brought with us ...very disappointed in general won't be rushing back

Has long been my favourite restaurant. Food is always spot on, service always incredible and the restaurant is great. Love it!

Stepping into Damon's Restaurant made me feel like I was stepping into true Americana, great service, great prices, and a friendly welcoming atmosphere. Well definitely stop by again !

If you're looking for cheap, or vegetarian/vegan friendly, you're looking in the wrong place. If you want decent portions of delicious meat based food, you're in luck!

Teníamos dos hamburguesas de pollo que eran sosas e insípidas, los bollos eran baratos y secos. Los chips fueron congelados de mala calidad. Una de nuestras fiestas tenía la hamburguesa de doble carne, las empanadas se veían extremadamente secas. Tratamos de comer la comida, pero dejamos todas las patatas fritas y la mayoría de la hamburguesa de ternera. Hablamos con el gerente, sin esperar reembolsos, pero para hacer comentarios sobre la calidad de la comida. Nos encontramos con una actitud grosera y francamente desdeñosa, no con ningún tipo de disculpa. Los precios son caros, nuestra comida llegó a £ 85 incluyendo bebidas. He tenido mejor comida en Wetherspoons a un precio mucho mejor. Seguramente no volveremos.

Ribs just not as good as they used to be. Sauce recipe has to have been altered. Doubt it will be my go to place again unfortunately

We were celebrating my husband's birthday and booked into the Damon Hotel which is adjacent to the Damon Diner. A lovely friendly hotel. We booked a evening table for two at 7pm. We checked in was given an electric disc told to wait until it flashes this indicates the table is ready. At 7:25pm we were still waiting. The Manager apologies and gave us a free drink. I ordered a sirloin steak, which was tasty and cooked to perfection. I must admit the menu prices are expensive. We booked to have breakfast, not your regular full-english, a USA twist and very expensive. My poached eggs were under cooked and I couldn't eat them. The toast arrived buttered?? The breakfast website prices are different from the actual diner menu, so check before booking. The Damon Hotel is across the car park and is great value for money. Could't fault it at all. If you want eating choices there is a Brewers Faye less than 10mins drive away, and a McDonalds opposite with ample car parking. Visited Lincoln Cathederal and Castle. The Steep Hill cobbled stone road is a challenge, try to park as near the Cathederal as possible. The shops and cafes are quaint. On the whole Lincoln is a nice place to visit.

It's Saturday night and we expected the place to be full, but to our surprise it was virtually empty! Even the restaurant was only half full, unheard of a couple of years ago. We only went in for cocktails, and found the bar had only one other customer! Says everything.

Went to here a few times for a family meal. My honest reviews: - Food is very good (especially the ribs and the chicken wings) - Very kid friendly place (very good) - For any ages is a very good thing - Staff are very nice but they can be slow, sometimes. - Luxury experience

We had a 2 night stay at the hotel alongside the restaurant and had breakfast both mornings. 1st morning we had full English.. bacon, sausage & poached eggs were lovely but the potatoes they serve were wet & tasteless needed to be crispy but everything was hot. Second morning i had the French toast & hubby had pancakes & my God they were both amazing 😊 we would drive 1.5 hrs just to have them again! Nice young ladies serving. Would definitely recommend.

Visité con mi pareja para una comida de San Valentín. El tiempo de espera para sentarse era bastante pobre. La mesa fue reservada para el 7 : 45 no consiguió asiento hasta alrededor de las 8 y media. Pero nos compensaron con un cóctel gratis cada uno. La comida era mala en el mejor de los casos, y lo encontró bastante exagerado y caro. Pedí la tira de Nueva York que no tenía sabor, y estoy bastante seguro de que fue un corte de carne menor de lo anunciado. Mi compañero pidió el kebab colgante, que era de goma y estaba demasiado cocido. Nuestro camarero por otro lado era brillante y no podía hacer lo suficiente por nosotros, (creo que su nombre era Kai)

Always loved damons ribs till today's visit, not sure what was happening with the sauce on the ribs, but it wasn't in the slightest barbequey it was very tangy, 3 of us opted for the bbq ribs and all said the same, definitely disappointed on this occasion, don't think we will come back again unfortunately

This was the first time we had visited Damon’s since they closed the Damon’s in Sheffield. As soon as we walked through the doors, the unmistakably aroma hit us bringing back happy memories. Our meal was just as we remembered and was served quickly. Al in all next time we visit Lincoln we will visit again.

Two of us dined there as we were staying in the hot tub suite, the meal was fine however the bill needed to be discussed three times and we still got overcharged by £4. We had the two course meal at £22.95 and two gins each at 4.95 per gin plus a dash of lemonade at .50p per serving... so £22.95 x 2 + £4.95 x 4 + .50p x 4 = £67.70 not £71.70 Ref : 60069 09/02/2025

My Birthday meal. Staff were brilliant went out of their way to wish me Happy Birthday. Great place to go if on your own. Feels comfortable n safe. Food and atmosphere excellent

I can't actually praise the staff enough. The ones we had serving were so welcoming and friendly. The food was hot and freshly made.

Visited Damons on 25th Jan. Lovely food and good service. The live singer/guitarist, Ryan, was absolutely brilliant and made the evening. Great selection of songs, amazing vocals and guitar playing! Highly recommend!

We went for a birthday meal today (Sunday) a party of five,so we obviously booked in advance, and it's a good job, we arrived at 1pm and it was OK but by half past it was really busy, hardly a table to be had, the food was excellent and the service top class from Charlotte, Will definitely be back.

Still guaranteed 💯 %, will be returning again soon. Superb.

Liked the waiting staff, especially Mia who went above and beyond to ensure I had the best dining experience.

Brilliant place, Brilliant food.

Damon's continues to be exorbitantly expensive. The food can be quite delicious as has long been the case but at what point does that stop justifying what is otherwise a not particularly fancy restaurant with less of an atmosphere than ever. Worth making use of cocktail hour, cheaper lunchtime prices and free birthday meals to make it more palatable.

Mmmmm! Average food, average service (just), but not value for money compared to other restaurants. Hadn’t been for a few years, visited on Sunday for lunch and won’t be visiting for a few more years. How could you improve? 1. More attentive service, who listen and then respond and not try to fit 6 other activities in before they respond to you. 2. Get some decent sized plates so you can fit food on properly and not have to stack things! 3. I came for the rib beef 🥩 to be told ‘we don’t do it and never have! Don’t know why it’s on the menu!” OMG! 4. Make the menu clear, string onions on top of burgers….. EXCEPT not for your veggie burger, go figure!

Atmosphere was very good with live singer and starters were how we remembered very nice, coleslaw is nice but not as nice as other times. Main food came out ordered 2x burgers would not recommend, burger sauce was vile so had to remove buns from both burgers, chicken burger was definitely not as described came out covered in golden breadcrumbs not southern fried. Both burgers just tasted like salt. The beef burger was edible but could've knocked up something alot better at home or a rustler burger. Not worth the money but the service was brilliant and they did knock the price of the chicken burger off the final bill. Feel really disappointed as this was a celebration meal, will not be returning.

It was great food service and music 🎶 just super crowded when we were there and I didn't like sitting so close to other people it's quite squeezy how we were seated I'd prefer if it was easier to sit in a private corner especially for a couple,you can't understand a word you wanna talk while sitting very close to strangers

First time to Damon, we had the famous ribs and roasted chicken, it’s a classic ribs place, foods were good, slightly sweet for me but still very yummy. Staff were very nice as well. There was live music there. Saw many people were there to celebrate their birthday today.

Bang average. Majorly overpriced and not worth the money. Atmosphere is nice and so were the hosts but it is literally just like iceland food on a grill, was expecting a lot more. Could have made this meal myself for £10 it cost £50! Daylight robbery to be honest

Food good, service good. Only issue was took a while to get served. Rang at 7.10pm for a table at 7.45pm the same evening. Got there 10 minutes early to get sorted only to be told table wouldn't ready till 8pm and they closed at 9pm. Had to order, then wait and then rush our food.

Absolutely terrible service from the manager we had raw chicken with a share plater, he did offer something else but we didn't want to eat after that! and he only wanted to take a little over £9.00 of the bill a total joke would only offer half the meal cost ( whi h we did pay) but as it was a share combo platter it was all on one plate so neither of use could eat it. Will never go back and live In lincoln so have eaten there many times including breakfast. The manager at this time certainly needs better customer care was very arrogant... Very disappointing

Been wanting to go here for years. Finally been and was definitely not disappointed. Friendly staff nothing too much trouble and the food was spot on!!

Happy hour from 4pm to 7.30.drink and chicken wings . Please don't serve those as it contained too much salt. When it came to our dinner for 7.30. I need to tell you, the ribs melt off the bone, we eat everything. It was awesome and worth every dime. So for that I have to give them full marks.

The quality of the food to the price is very poor our order was £71 for me and the wife I would rate the food at a cost of £30 at most for the quality we had I’d say if you was very drunk the food would probably taste amazing like it would at a kebab house but definitely wouldn’t go again although the staff was very good

Wouldn’t waste your money, ordered a steak advertised as a New York strip at 8oz asked for rare, came as photo shows a close to medium well and was actually the ridiculously cheaper cut of rump. I’m head chef of a steak house so think I’d know: the table next to us also complained about not receiving the correct cut they’d paid for. And guiness served in a John smiths glass with a single pour, no break. Simply awful don’t waste your money here. Hanging on to their previously brilliant reputation but clearly stoked caring

There was hardly anyone in tonight, I've never seen the place so empty, had a really nice meal though. If I have a complaint about this place it's that they don't have a clue what background music is. Whatever they is always too loud so you have to raise your voice to have a conversation and everyone else is doing the same which makes it really noisy even on a night like tonight. To make matters worse they have live trip playing part of the time and they make even more noise.

Went as part of large group for family occasion. My partner ordered a chicken burger, arrived pink in the middle so sent it back. About 15 minutes later it was returned by the time most of the table had finished their meals. Looked away for a moment and they took our half eaten plates that were unfinished just taking our time, without asking. Complained and they did refund his meal eventually just the whole experience not up to scratch, used to love going here for occasions. Very cramped and limited spacing between tables, especially with staff running around. Won’t be back anymore.

Outdoor table with a loving view, food not bad, but could be more presentable by larger plates. Opened for only 3 months, love to see improvement when re-visit later.

Just got home from Damond's. I have given it a five star rating because of the friendly helpful service There were sixteen of us family birthday. Damond's is renown locally for it's ribs. Fifteen out of the sixteen had these in various ways. They as expected received praise, I was handed one to try. I did and felt guilty not making it unanimous. Regrettably, I choose the LARGE haddock. It was clear upon arrival that my definition and thankfully local chippies are, though I am sure the manager of Damond’s will investigate. I thought when I looked at it there would be another with it to meet the expectation of the buyer, clearly I was pip with great expectation, My local chippy a large fish would require three of the plates. The other thing which always bugs me is why is the baby changing station in the disabled. Go for what they are renowned for, then I would suggest they would be given five stars.

Food was delicious, I had the ribs with buttery mash and Boston beans. It was just the right amount. We wanted baked Potato's but unfortunately they didn't have any, which seemed odd for a Saturday. Couple of problems with wrong food being delivered which was rectified.

If you like American diners or Frankie n Bennies, you'll love this. A circular building enclosing a central bar with large tvs, surrounded by American diner style booths. Great service and lovely food. It has a reputation for its steaks and grills. Also has live acts each weekend. Happy hour cocktails and a reasonable choice of drinks. 20% discount for Damon's hotel guests.

It was cozy, the food was good and plentiful, and the staff was extremely friendly. There are pictures of older actors everywhere. There is live music there too! Gladly again and again.

We had the pleasure of attending Damons for a celebration yesterday. Jacob served us and what a star he is! 🌟 He has knowledge of the food and steered me in the right direction as well as being a thoroughly nice character. I had a perfectly made steak and rib combo which melted in my mouth. The rest of our party all had excellent food which they enjoyed too 🥰 I may have found a new favourite eatery! As I was driving I had the virgin banana daiquiri and it was gorgous 😋 Thanks to the Damons team for a great time!

Called in for breakfast. Two ladies on duty were so friendly and on the ball. Only gave 4 stars for atmosphere cos not many people in restaurant. Definitely a place to go.

Food across the whole order was filling and tasty. Not quite homwcooked and not everything on the menu was available.

Had an amazing birthday here! Service was brilliant from the minute we walked in from the guy greeting us at the door to our lovely server Kiera. Food was great, we had the onion loaf to start, we both had a combo meal (ribs & chicken) and then we had a dessert each, oh and a couple of cheeky cocktails. I do not have 1 single complaint about our evening at Damon’s!

From the time we walked in we was very welcomed all staff were very professional and polite. There was a lovely lady Tammy who welcomed us into the restaurant and Connor who served well and very great with the children. Couldn’t fault here it was amazing and will be coming back to get a room and enjoy the live music and cocktails!

Everything was satisfactory. We were returning from Skegness and decided to make a stop along the way for refreshments. The service was standard, but the establishment itself was impressive. The ambiance was remarkable, and the service was exceptional. The staff was very friendly, and I would highly recommend a return visit.✌️

Not sure what to make of it. Hickory's has opened round the corner and my man comes from birchwood and insisted Damon's would be better. Wow. the ribs wernt that special, wasn't sure about them shouting our names on a tannoy and the 'combi' was very expensive. Expensive food for what It is. Seems to be a Lincoln culture thing but to outsiders beyond the Lincolnshire border, it is a very odd experience. Very over priced generic ribs and burgers. Music in the music was strange too. Again, a Lincoln culture. I won't be back. Over priced, the owner sat at the bar grimacing. Wouldn't recommend. Onion loaf is just stringy onions on a plate. Don't understand Lincolns hype with Damon's.

Only popped in for cocktails during happy hour (4-7pm). Excellent service and even got a free dish of chicken wings! Will definitely return 😋

The atmosphere was very good. Quite a few people and live music giving the place a "buzz". Staff were excellent. Our waitress, Alisa, very attentive and helpful with the menu. The food was really good and has enough choice to keep most people quite happy. The thick pork and tomahawk pork chop (cooked medium) were superb. I did think the prices were a bit on the high side but the meals were good quality. I will certainly go again when I next visit Lincoln.

Stayed at the motel while visiting Lincoln and had a meal and cocktails. Food was delicious and baked potatoes fantastic. As was breakfast the next morning. On the plus side 20% of our meal as staying in motel. We booked bed and breakfast, room was clean and comfortable

Stumbled on this place from the nearby main road ; wish we had driven on! Where to start?? -- the gaudy cheap nightclub decoration, the staff so far up themselves it's untrue, the awful cabaret............ Do yourself a favour & give this place a wide berth.

Damons used to be great but not anymore! The Burger wasn`t too bad but couldn`t see or taste any Rib Meat on it. The "Steak Cut" Chips were frozen standard Chips barely cooked. The Boston Beans were standard baked Beans which i can only describe as coming with a few bits of Spam chopped onto it and the coleslaw was Tesco budget rubbish. We won`t be back.

My family moved away from Lincoln nearly 18 years ago, we were back there over the weekend so thought a visit to Damons was on the cards. Our server Mia was efficient and attentive, nothing too much trouble, a bundle of energy 😁. The food came fast and hot, I had the ribs of course, my wife the fajitas and my daughter the burger, all delicious, deserts were lovely also. Good fun atmosphere great food and staff, glad some things don't change 😀.

Went to this place as the reviews looked ok however the guy on the door was abruptly rude and about an hour after leaving I fell ill. Would DEFINITELY not go back, would be better off getting food from the services opposite! Ruined the end of our week away.

You can't beat Damons for its classic bbq sauce, ribs, buffalo wings and twice baked potato. I've been coming here for decades. However, the loss of the warm bread rolls and replacement with cold baps that noone eats is a real come down. The coleslaw has changed significantly over the years too. It used to be amazing but now borders on tasteless. The free kids meals are great but we wouldn't have gone without this discount because it's just too expensive for a family of 5 otherwise. Bring back the old style bread and coleslaw please Damons! 🙏
