Almost broke my tooth on a STONE which was in the Baklava. I can only assume that some of the mixture was dropped on the floor and scooped back up, as I can't see how else it would have got there. Absolutely disgusting.

Wow! This place goes above and beyond, our company has been working throughout Christmas and we placed a large order for Christmas day, the food was impeccable and the order was 100% what we ordered. The food was so good that we ordered again Newyears Eve and this time the food was even better, they even threw in some potatoes mixed with peppers (phenomenal). All of our staff have worked all over the Middle East and this place we highly recommend Thank you Damascene Restaurant 🙏

Their manakeesh portions are massive and priced decently (starting from £4). These are made on soft Arabic bread and are dripping with cheese if you go for the cheese options. They got amazing manakeesh options but I am still not over their lamb and cheese, it is the best one on their manakeesh menu. If you are a cheese lover, Damascene is the spot. Its heavenly!

Food is sooooo tasty!!!! Portion sizes are fantastic, there is a lot of good choices on the menu, nice atmosphere, amazing prices, good value for money, delicious, I will keep going and recommending!

Great fresh food with great service from Ahmed. Well worth the visit with the seating area upstairs. Will be retiring very soon!

I have been to this restaurant before and put a positive review. The food is really good, I can't complain about that. The service also was good, BUT: 3 of us ate here early on in the day recently. By the end of the day and until the day after we were all having diarrhea. The only thing in common was that we ate here. I am sure it was not the meat. I suspect there must have been some cross contamination somewhere. We drank only the bottled water so cannot be the water. I had not eaten any breakfast and the problem started early evening so I can only make one conclusion. I am very sad as the food is great but for us the enjoyable experience was spoiled by the following 24 hours of discomfort. Also, the toilets were not clean, especially the ladies which stank of urine and had signs of old urine around the area and was not somebody's recent accident in there. It was truly disgusting and totally unacceptable. It was not long after opening time. We will not be going again :-(

Simply put the taste and quality of the food was outstanding and the price was more then fair. All the wraps tasted amazing, especially the chicken and halloumi ones. It seemed like a lot of thought was put in finding the proper mix of vegetables and sauce for each meat type. The service was kind and thoughtful. Something went wrong with our order and they helped us immediately without any weird looks or disbelief. I appreciated that immensely. The one complain I have is that the restroom could use a better upkeep. It was kind of messy to put it lightly. But that is easily fixable.

Damascene is a whole in the wall Syrian restaurant. I love Syrian food so thought I would give them a try. The mixed grill was moist and flavorful, served with rice and salad £13. Menu prices on their website are not accurate i.e. the above dish is listed as £11. The cold meze called Makdous was delicious, it consisted of baby eggplant that was stuffed with walnuts/garlic/ pepper and olive oil £5 Unfortunately their Foul Mudamas, broad beans with garlic and olive oil, was a disappointment as it was bland and flavorless £4.50. What was I thinking when I ordered cheesecake in a Syrian restaurant? I have no idea...but I do not recommend that you follow me. The cheesecake was heavy on the Oreo cookies, this was not listed in the description, far overpriced at £4.99.

Absolute cheats! Do not eat in this restaurants. Meat portions are small, over priced. Waiters are hopeless. Wait until you pay the bill which is not only extortionate but they add a service charge without informing customers which is illegal. Means if you spend £100 expect to give them £10 which pays their staffs hourly rates. By law, we should be given a choice whether to pay the service charge or not and with this service no way I would have said yes. Rang the restaurant to challenge this charge and was spoken to a lunatic idiot on the other line, typical arrogant person. The place should be inspected and shut down.

Terrible service waited 2 hours for our food. Didn’t apologise until I’d waited 1 and half hours. Didn’t offer any compensation. Definitely wouldn’t come back. If your business model is simply to order food to a table number and you can’t do that I can’t imagine you’d be able to grill food properly.

We were looking for a place to eat and happened to stumble across this place based on its reviews. This place has a great family atmosphere/vibe and wonderful staff, deffo service with a smile. Would definitely recommend you to eat here. You will NOT be disappointed :)

Had the mixed grill, babaganoush, hummus beiruti, falafel and Labaneh. The food was good and fresh except the labaneh was too sour for me, it had a strange taste that I've not experienced before. The toilets could have been cleaner.

The restaurant decor gave it an authentic and welcoming atmosphere with warm and friendly staff, amazing food and great service. Thank you.
