Great fish and chips, the best in the area, we called in to get a take away meal after an evening at the cinema, but ate in the nice clean and cosy restaurant. Great food and great service. Thank you to all the staff

Poor food no flavour below average should have gone to Hunters - fish itself was ok but terrible cooking and rushed - they had no food cooked at 7pm on a Friday? My own fault, should have known better.

There’s a reason the line to be served it mostly always out the door, classic chippy.. no silly extras added to the menu or JustEat like other places, classic go and get what you want place. Portions are good, food quality is very good & always a nice vibe.

Arrived in Louth late afternoon and decided to walk around to see what was available. Came across this Chippy and recognised the name from Tripadvisor as having good reviews and the long queue suggested it was popular with locals (always a good sign) so decided to get 2 small fish and chips. Portions were large for the price but quality missed the mark. The fish was greasy and the chips were average soggy chips which became gagging after a while. Not somewhere I would return to despite the portion size.

Very disappointed! We ordered Jumbo Haddock only to find when we got home that we had received a smaller than average piece of thin, dried out fish. It is very disappointing that Parkinson's, like other retailers are compromising quality, high standards and their long achieved reputations by passing on cost cutting to their loyal customers. Having reflected and checked since, there is very little difference in size between small, regular and jumbo, yet the price differences are quite big. I feel quite ripped off by todays purchase which cost £15.80 for 2xaverage fish and chips. I'd be happy to hear your side, but in the meantime you've lost a loyal customer!

We were there early evening so atmosphere was non-existent, but that isn't why you go to Parkinson's. Quite simply they serve the best fish and chips I can remember having! Freshly cooked, plenty of it and reasonably priced. My only niggle would be that the pot of tea should be served with the meal rather than immediately on ordering as it was well cold by the time the food arrived and the pot served for two was only large enough for one small cup each. Otherwise absolutely first class.

We were in louth visiting a book shop and the smells coming from Parkinson's were just too much to ignore. We both had jumbo haddock and chips with curry sauce. We drove off to the wolds and parked off road with a gorgeous view and opened our food. The smell was gorgeous and a sneaky chip told me this was going to be good. There was hardly any grease and the fish looked amazing. We were surprised at the curry sauce as we were just expecting the usual chip shop type but this tasted homemade and really yummy. I have to say I haven't had fish and chips like it before or since and I will recommend this chippy to anyone. And we will definitely be back soon.

Mixed reviews.. Have visited the restaurant a few times throughout 2019, different months of the year.Good value for money. Fast service. Plenty of choice.Restaurant - always had a nice tasty meal plenty of it, served quickly by friendly staff. Always found a seat easily. Would highly recommend.Takeaway - as we have always had good meals in the restaurant, we decided on 2 lunchtimes to get chips from the take out counter. On these occasions we found the counter staff to be unattentive with a cant be bothered attitude. Each time the chips have been hard and not cooked enough. As already driving home, we wernt prepared to drive back. First time we thought it was a one off, second time decided not to go back there again. This happened between the months of October 19 to January 20 so Im not sure if there was a staff issue on the take out side but it has put us off going to the restaurant now.A shame really.

Having bought takeaway fish and chips from here and enjoyed it, we thought the restaurant would be a safe bet for a lunchtime treat when we were in town. What a mistake! We waited a good 15 minutes before our order was taken, and there were only 2 other tables occupied. The restaurant then quickly filled up, and we could see that everyone else was waiting an age to have their orders taken. After sitting there for at least another 30 minutes, in a full restaurant, not one table had any food.We thought that the long wait would at least mean freshly cooked, piping hot fish and chips. Second mistake! When it did eventually come, everything was lukewarm and the batter was soggy. Honestly, the takeaways we have had have been hotter when we've got them home. To top it all, the tartare sauce was the most vile thing I've ever tasted - cheap and nasty.Incidentally, there was a long queue in the takeaway part, and I can only guess that restaurant customers play second fiddle to takeaway customers in order of getting served.

My wife and I had lunch at Parkinsons after reading good things on TripAdvisor. The haddock and chips were good with fair portions and light crispy batte. The staff were friendly, caring and efficient and the restaurant was clean. The restaurant was rather narrow and the decor we felt was a bit austere , but given the format of the property, they were doing O.K.One minor downside was that the toilet facilities were accessed by walking outside which could be tricky in bad weather. The toilets were singular and cramped although clean and well presented. The cost of the meal was fair and right at £14-40 for two including tea for two.

We visit this establishment fairly regularly, choosing to travel from Lincoln in pursuit of a good fish supper!! In fact I've reviewed "Parkys" before and given it an excellent rating. Well based on our experience tonight we were totally disappointed with the quality of the fish!! What is it we ask?? Not haddock for sure. Fish is hard, dark in colour, the edges of which are chewy and inedible, the taste is indescribable but totally wrong!! Batter was soggy. Chips weren't particularly nice either!!All in all very little was eaten. This is not the usual standard, we usually leave Louth feeling satisfied with "Parkys" offerings!! Please sort it out otherwise we'll have to vote with our feet!!

Working with disabled people we were horrified that this restaurant was not disabled friendly at all. We had decided to go out for lunch with 2 of our deaf blind wheelchair service users. Not only was there a big step into the takeaway part of the chip shop( which 2 members of staff stood by and watched us struggle)but another to get into the restaurant. Even a customer offered to help lift the wheelchair up the step! Only to find the tables and chairs were all bolted to the floor so the wheelchairs were unable to get near the tables and could only stay in the walkway. This discovered we struggled once again to leave as it was totally inappropriate and unacceptable.

Usually in Louth I'd visit Mr. Chips, however that being recently closed I went by my grandparents recommendation to use "Parky's" and what an absolute mistake.Firstly, the staff unintentionally ignored me and even when pointed out by another customer they still seemed equally as clueless. Price wise I don't understand why people say it's expensive when it's less than £5 for fish AND chips. Now, I understand that batter can go a little soft when transported home, however when I got back I opened the plastic takeaway container to find a very condensed fish batter, as expected. What I didn't understand was the need for copious amounts of batter on the unskinned side of the fish, uncooked, and thick enough to be served on Shrove Tuesday! Needless to say it was inedible...Finally, terrible batter aside, the fish appeared to be just a little off white on top, but slowly and surely became more discoloured towards the skin which by my expectations is poor being from the East coast. Not only that, but the fish was clearly anaemic or dieting, so it was fortunate there was plenty of chips. I wouldn't have been so fussed at the lack of fillet size if a large or jumbo fish was offered, but that seemed to be non existent and was confirmed by the staff. So overall, chips okay, fish on par with Oxfordshire (which I'll never buy from again), and peas unmushed. Not satisfied.

Went to this chippie as my regular didn't have any pies left. Have to say was really disappointed. The steak pie was horrible the chips were ok. Certainly won't be trying again

Called in on a craving for Fish and Chips - wasn't sure what to expect as only 2nd visit to Louth. Long queue at counter made me feel better and slight wait for table in small restaurant at back as surely this meant it was good?! Was not disappointed - quick friendly service in a spotlessly clean environment and the best fish and chips in a long time. We ordered a special and a haddock chips and peas - both were lovely and fresh and cooked to perfection - would definitely recommend and visit again when in the area. 10/10.

Always tasty, never disappoints. Friendly owner and staff. For a proper old fashioned treat, sit down in the back and enjoy F&C with a cup of tea and a round of bread.

Went here for a takeaway as a friend recommended and the new shop on Newmarket next to the big Co-Op was closed. They do a good variety but too greasy for me. Very soggy chips by the time I was home. Eating in would probably be better. Not cheap.

Tried this chippy as my regular one was closed. It's okay but too greasy for me and much more expensive than I am used to.

I really cannot add more to my previous review .... the psychic staff must know I am on my way and the haddock is always fresh, tasty and delicious. The staff are brilliant and accommodate by "walker" and look after myself so well. I am a bit boring and stick to "the special" but the menu also includes other items than "fish!". Try it and I don't think you will be disappointed. Well priced, clean and out-do what I used to think was "the Chippy" for Louth. Thank you all. Judie

I have been here before and I have never had a bad fish & chips from here. If you have cod you need to order it but even that isnt a problem as its brilliant. Its not oily and the batter is to die for. The chips are great too. Certainly worth a drive into Louth just for these

Unfortunately, the Dunes Complex is definitely not wheelchair friendly. There are disabled parking spaces in the car park. However, they were all taken, and some didn't have Blue Badges visible. Once in the Dunes Complex, there are 2 more ramps to consider, the 1st one is quite steep, and the 2nd one is less of a hassle. If a wheelchair user or someone who has mobility difficulties wanted to get to the stage, they would have to ask staff for a further ramp. To get onto the stage itself, well, there are narrow corridors that a wheelchair does not fit through, and there are no handles or any form of mobility aid.

Staying in Aby village for a week's holiday and had to try the local pub. Exterior looks a bit "tired" but don't be put off - inside it's friendly. cosy and lots of character. Excellent choices of dishes on the menu and "daily specials" board - we especially appreciated the choice of gluten-free options and Dawn was happy to go through each option in detail. Good portions and served hot! Very tasty and wholesome. Wide range of dessert options too and it was evident from conversations with other diners, that Dawn would also be happy to adapt these just to suit individual requirements. Obviously very deserving of the many awards over many years.

I ordered a Sunday roast delivery from here and it went in the bin as soon as it arrived! Everything was burnt to a crisp and absolutely disgusting, I would not recommend eating here at all! I've heard from a few people how awful the food has been there for a while now but thought we'd give it a go for ourselves. Avoid at all costs and don't waste your money here!
