Very disappointing. The “grill”, shall we say more of a cafe is right to a beautiful farm shop. On the sign it shows burger, £7.50 and add a bowl of chips for £4.00 or a burger and chips for £14.95 (strange to do this when it works out cheaper to do the separate option) The burger arrives, small froze burger inside an empty bread roll. No salad, no cheese and looking very sorry for itself. The chips were ok, chip fat fryer type ones so sadly a taste of fat was present. Very disappointed and definitely not worth the money and for the first time in years I’ve really regretted going somewhere.

We can only endorse every negative comment that has already been said. Yes, on arrival the layout of the fresh fruit and vegetables is superb and immediately gives you a lift, but it's certainly downhill from there. The sad thing is that the owners don't give a toss! They are making so much money with just a handful of customers, why bother to comment on TripAdvisor negativity. To highlight their complacency, on the way out we visited the toilets. Atrocious!! For a restaurant serving albeit very basic food at top restaurant prices they should be ashamed of themselves !! I've been in better school toilets in the 1950s. Is it a case of country folk not having a clue what goes on in the real world?

This farm shop looks nice on arrival but things take a turn for the worse when you get to the cafe. The man on the servery is like a hawk - the food is very expensive and he insists that plates can’t be shared. It gives an unfriendly vibe to the restaurant. Sauces are in sachets, charged at 20p a go. An americano coffee is nearly £4. Our simple chicken curry was £14.99. The food was overpriced and the customer service was unfriendly. I hope the owners read these reviews and adjust the staffing on their servery. Avoid.

So disappointing. This place has so much potential and wonderful ingredients literally at their fingertips, but the food their cooking is so basic and WAY overpriced. I don't mind paying good money for good food, but the four meals we got between us had absolutely no love in it at all. Farm shop nice and worth a visit but I wouldn't waste your money eating here.

Family lunch out with our 87 yr old mother. Food was so tasty but could have been hotter. Left with feet like blocks of ice and nearly needed our coats on to eat. The price of the produce on display was expensive eg same sack of large bag of spuds in foyer is £7.00 less somewhere else.

Popped over for Sunday lunch but very nearly left before getting to the till. The bloke who carves the meat also watches over the vegetable selection like a hawk. The Missus, who's in her 60s, took two scoops of cauliflower but as she was holding the second scoop 'Mr Grumpy' told her 'It's only one scoop of each'. Fair enough, because no-one likes to see food wasted. BUT no-one likes to be shouted at either, and this man's approach to customer service is utterly appalling. We haven't been back since and've no intention of ever returning.

Took friends to Cwmcerrig for Sunday lunch as we had always had a good wholesome meal served with a smile and a good welcome, well that was sadly missing on this visit. Dinner was warm, not hot and my friend asked if he could buy the left over ends of the meat to go with his meal...disaster! The owner was extremely rude and stated that he already had meat on his plate and no he wasn't allowed any more, I was so shocked I was speechless and needless to say we have not been back. Prior to this I bought all my meat and vegetables at Cwmcerrig, yes it is a little more expensive but worth it for the fresh foods but I have not been back to purchase another item and have advised friends and family to go elswhere. Family need to send that man on customer service training before he looses the business all together

Really bad experience and not quite sure how it is possible to run a business like this and still have return customers. We had three issues and we only bought a few things 1) All the flour bags were past their sell by date, some were significantly past their sell by date 2) Fruit and veg appeared to be priced per kg and seemed a reasonable price. However, when they went through the till the price doubled and we were told that the displayed price was actually price per half kilo. Never seen this done before and did seem to us misleading. 3) Final price of bill was out by £4.50 so check you final bill before paying. Conclusion - very disappointing experience.

Run down Visited for the first time in 3/4 years. I used to be a regular shopper at the farm shop but stopped going after the owner was disgusting to me on a Sunday years back. But when I pulled up I was welcomed by signs Do not bring your rubbish into the shop No dogs And I should have realised then “ nothings changed “ But it has and not for the better. The prices are extremely high, no idea where the fruit and veg is from, to be honest I think it’s not local, which in my opinion is the bc whole purpose of a “ farm shop” There seems to be a huge reduction in staff too. There was one man serving on the deli counter, meat and cheese and one on the till. It just seems to have lost its appeal and exclusive feel it used to have. I noticed a few here on the “sauce” section which were out of date. So I bc ended up not buying anything. I wa going to go on to the coffee shop with my family member but noticed the owners grunting miserable face behind the till and de died against it. The signs in there are enough to put you off “ don’t ask for a plate for vegetables as you will be refused”. Im shocked that with all these negative reviews about the cafe they don’t do something about it because with the right person this could be bc a gold mine but they seem determined to just stay the same as it is and watch the place end up closing which is such a shame. The family has a shop in the near village of tumble and the staff there are amazing so so lovely and the produce is first class. Maybe they should go and sort the farm shop out !

Decided to give this place a chance after my sister had a terrible experience a couple of years ago. Myself and three children decided to come for a quick bite to eat before 1.30 to be told there was only sandwiches/toasties and what was left in the hot food counter.. I ordered a sandwich each and a toastie for myself, so expensive for what it was- was totally gobsmacked when the lady said the price!!! a plain cheese sandwich, nothing special about the salad and a few little crisps. The toastie arrived and it was over cooked, burnt slightly. I ordered an americano- £3.30- totally ridiculous as it was nothing special- only filter coffee. Will not be returning ever. Such a shame as it could be so nice. Why the owner and staff ignore the vast amount of negative comments is beyond me. Absolute waste of money and wish I’d have gone elsewhere.

I live in the local area and have driven past numerous times but never visited despite hearing some good comments in the past. I am not a lover of meat or grills so it has never appealed. However, this Sunday I had my brother and his wife visiting from overseas and they were keen to go out for a morning coffee so that seemed like an opportunity to give it a go as it was open before other places. On walking in the fresh fruit and veg display was quite impressive and the shop side had a decent enough range of products although there was no way of telling from the labels where the packaged meats originated which for a farm shop is a given. We had a quick browse before wandering over to the café / restaurant side which looked quite unappealing with it's regimented rows of chairs and tables reminiscent of a factory canteen. For a Sunday morning there were just a few people who looked like regulars who knew the staff. And to think I had been concerned that we might not get a table! Ordering was difficult as the man on the till (see other reviews) wasn't very good at communication so a whole cup of coffee was wasted as it wasn't what was wanted. The coffees turned out to be nothing special and my hot chocolate was basically milk with some sludge in the bottom. As it was quiet and we weren't in any hurry we sat and chatted for a while before buying a few bits and heading home. Having read the other reviews this morning I felt I should add my voice to what appears to be a growing chorus of dissatisfied customers. As a local I was very disappointed to find a business like this providing such poor quality service. I would suggest avoiding until the owners turn things around and the reviews pick up again. Please note I am rating our experience on the quality of the café / restaurant as this was our primary reason for visiting. The products we bought and the service at the till were all fine.

I can’t understand the other reviews? Hmmm. I visited on the off chance while travelling back from Ireland. Saw the flags and word cafe so pulled in. The farm shop itself is lovely, lots of selection and very well presented. Yes it is quite expensive but I can’t say any-more-so than other farm shops? The staff were very pleasant and helpful. In the cafe, the food was delicious. Had a cheese baguette which was lovely. And another member of my party had the pie, was good sized potion and tasty- the pie was slightly cool but it’s on the heated trays so it would be really. Hot drinks where lovely. Lovely outside area, where you can see the animals. I really liked this shop. Met the owner, he was blunt and a bit unfiltered but still seemed pleasant and helpful. I’m not sure, like I have written it is actually on the slightly expensive side, I wouldn’t buy the veg and fruit as they are way too costly, but picked up an apple crumble and some other bits before leaving and it was enjoyed by all at home. Also they have a great little craft area, with lovely bits like knitted broaches and one-off things.

By looking at some of the reviews I'm clearly not the only one who has rated this place as less than good. We've been before and eaten here and felt robbed by the atrocious pricing, but thought we would give it a go for a coffee and let the kids play in the park.WOW...... if anything I think it's worse. The service was just abrupt and bordering on rude, when I asked for take away cups, explaining that I'd be sitting in the play area so it would be safer it was met with an eye roll.£17 for 2 lattes, 2 kids drinks, 2 (extremely dry, 6 day old) cupcakes and a couple of welshcakes.I'm happy to pay and support small businesses but this list feels greedy. The little park is really run down and some of the play tractors need fixing to be safer. Also, although its lovely to see the sheep, ducks and chickens beware the masses of stingy nettles all along the path. All in all, it was worth giving it a 2nd chance as now we know the first wasn't "just" a bad experience.

Today 1st December myself and my wife visited for a few things, we have been before and found in previous visits ok, I asked the butcher (beard) for 4 lambs kidneys in the fat, for rendering, as I know the excess fat would be thrown away. To my horror the kidneys were £ 7.80, for 4, being a master butcher myself for over 35 years in wales, Germany, South Africa, I found this appalling. I asked for removable of fat hence price was just over £ 2.00, the meat on display was tired and not fresh. Considering time of year, I hope the owner sees my complaint, as I'm well qualified to judge

Clean, tidy, quiet, space. The Devil Child, the Evil One, the Scottish and I arrived here for lunch. Three choices of meat. I asked for the best bits of beef but was told no as it was for the dog :( I had a plate too full of food, overflowing with gravy. It tasted ok, not bad, not great. All for the price of £10.If the potatoes were roasted and crispy and the price being about £3 lower I would give this place 4 stars.

I am very surprised to read such negative reports about this establishment. visited at lunch time today with my wife.1st impressions was how well laid out it was to deal with the present Covid 19 situation plenty of hand sanitizers and wipes readily available for public use restaurant well spaced out. As for the meals themselves A1. I had steak pie chips peas and gravy .My wife had the gammon egg and chips meal. The pie was large with loads of tender steak in it not an oz of fat or grisle. Gravy to die for rich and tasty. The gammon filled the plate and was cut off the bone served with a perfectly cooked egg and a side salad garnish the salad was lettuce Tomato cucumber onion and peppers Both meals served with freshly cooked chips not your frozen variety both meals were large in quantity .Yes it was slightly more expensive than your average pub meal but it was all fresh produce and cooked to perfection quality and quantity were on a high standard. As for the staff very obliging and helpful both waitresses and male staff. We have both spent a life time in public service 50 plus yrs each and at no time did I see or experience any bad manners or rudeness by any person in fat it was completely the oppositeAs for the shop itself meat veg bread every thing of very high quality you know you will pay more for class produce Well worth a visit if you want quantity and quality if not Go To Norma super markets.

Will never go there again. Extremely rude and unpleasant older man serving in the cafe area. As you can see by other reviews on here, this place isn't great.

We used to live in Pontyberem and now live in England so we return for visits frequently. We love going to the different farm shops and cafes for coffee. Up to now that is! We will not go back to this Farm shop. We had cappachino and scone and an americano and bacon and sausage toastie. The scone was heavy and dry. The americano came in a tiny cup! Not worth the money at all. The toastie should have come with salad and crisps and nothing was served with it. The owner who took the order was plain rude so we didn’t go back and argue about the misleading menu board.

Bear in mind that Cwmcerrig is both a farm shop (deli, bakery etc) and grill (café).We've visited the farm shop on many occasions and the food is absolutely superb, particularly the stuffed chicken thighs, sausages, bacon, burgers and pork joints. I'm also very keen on the Devil's Egg (spicy scotch eggs) and the fresh eggs are fabulous. In fact, as they say in The Lego Movie: "everything is awesome".On one occasion, the staff even grabbed someone off their lunch break to prepare us a bumper order of sausages and could not be friendlier! The grill is also very good, if not at the standard of the farm shop, but the food is nice and not really that expensive. People need to remember that it's not a silver service restaurant and is great if you're passing by.I cannot recommend Cwmcerrig highly enough and I'm off there again in a few days!

Very disappointing visit. Paid four pounds for runner beans, they were twelve pounds a kilo, bit pricey. Purchased cheese straws which were foul, and out of date today, which I didn't notice. Pork pie was dry and not hot water pastry. Hope the faggots I brought will be tasty. Wont be visiting again .

I have been here a few times in the past with no major problems, except the odd nasty stare from Godzilla the meat carver....It was a Sunday afternoon, I took the wife and the boy (just over 1 year old) for a Sunday lunch.First of all it was an usual odd stare from the grumpy meat carver. We wanted 2 adult carveries and 2 drinks and also a small plate just to give a tablespoon or 2 of food for our 1year old who obviously did not eat a lot.I went to take my boy to grab a table and a high chair. My wife called me over to the food stall and said that we had to pay for a small plate for my 1 year old to have food and it would cost us £2.50 just for a small bowl of veg! I tried my best to explain nicely that we would appreciate a little empty saucer as our boy did not eat much, but i had a nasty angry man grunting at me saying no. ( he looked angry, red and sweaty, and clearly not a people’s person!)So yes we had to pay for a plate (kicking myself from not walking out and gone for a Mcdonalds as it would have been much tastier! Sorry to go on, now about the food :-It was like being at school!!! Maximum of 4 roast potatoes/parsnips. 1 scoop of everything else! As i loaded my plate Mr Grumpy kept an eye on what was being put on my plate and was ready to pounce like a snake if you took 1 too many greasy/burnt roasties! The food was miserable. Such disappointment! I will never walk into this place again. The grumpy meat carver should not be carving meat at the front of the house, he definitely should be in the back kitchen washing dishes ....

The only good thing was the roast beef. The roast potatoes for all burnt. The Yorkshire pudding was about 1cm high and inedible. It did not look like Yorkshire pudding. They had frozen ones in the shop for sale so why didn't they use those I ask? The mash had lumps in it. I will never visit again. We live quite local and had been once before so I understand now why it took so many years to return.

Not much on menu on A Sunday apart from Sunday lunch or soup for adults But please remember you cannot order a small lunch, but it doesn't state that on the board. ..children have A choice of three meals.. Beef was so tough..mashed porato was full of lumps..peas were so hard they could of bounced on the floor.cabbags was so watery it was floating..And the carrots were chewy.. so over all the meal was disgusting.. would never call there again.. The owner had a disgusting attitude towards us and without us doing anything wrong apart from wanting a small lunch he told us to leave..having paid our money he waited until we were sitting then approached the table and verbally abused us telling us to leave.. So to customers read these reviews before you think about going there..DONT GO THERE....

This was our third visit to the farm shop and restaurant. Overall the food is good old fashioned home cooking of excellent quality. Each visit we have had one of the selections of 'Sunday' roast with the very large selections of vegetables. The first time was excellent, the second time the food was not as hot as it should be and the third time it was even cooler. Maybe it depends upon the time of day as the food is served from a buffet-style bank of warming trays. But the farm shop is excellent quality products but not a great variety.

I am shocked to see such bad reviews on here, I feel I need to defend both the food and staff at Cwmcerrig. We are regulars here and we have never had bad service or bad food and have nothing but praise for the hard working welcoming and friendly staff. If you’re the kind of person who likes to go to establishments and fill your face and over fill your plate then this isn’t the place for you. This isn’t a free for all chain where your eyes are bigger than your belly and end up wasting food which you’ve greedily left. We have had Sunday dinner here and can totally understand why anyone would need to ration the roast potatoes. For anyone with any common sense you would realise that they take an hour to cook in the oven, it’s not a case of running out and just popping some more on. You have plenty of vegetables to eat including mash potato so fill your boots with that instead. The food is tasty and delicious the meat is juicy and succulent too.You couldn’t wish for a better dinner in my eyes ! If you haven’t tried the breakfast then you’re really missing out. Made with the farms fresh produce it’s the tastiest breakfast around and can not fault it. As for people complaining about price then if you want quality then in my eyes you have to pay for it ! Again if you want a cheap greasy fry up go elsewhere. What we love most though is how you feel after eating it, it is full Filling and feels clean to eat.. no grease. You have to top it off with a freshly cooked fluffy pancake.. it tastes divine. As for the staff and the owner, they are so polite, friendly and welcoming and often stop for a chat. They’re not only staff but most of them are related and work for the best interests of the family business. If people got to know them and chatted to them then they wouldn’t have such a bad opinion. We as a family fully support them and cannot thank them for providing us with amazing food and equally amazing service.Don’t read the bad reviews as they are an extremely poor reflection ! Speak as you find and support the hard working family business ! You can’t improve on perfection in my eyes.We always bring friends along and introduce them here and they continue to go back so keep doing an amazing job.

Well.... to read these pretty horrific reviews below is absolutely not a true reflection on this business. Me and my wife (and recently arrived newborn) enjoy a breakfast pretty much every Sunday morning here. The breakfast is probably the best you could eat, the quality and taste of the produce are just second to none!! We are yet to try a Sunday lunch but it always looks fantastic!!The staff are always friendly and hard working (I believe most of the staff are family of the business)Regards to the owner, I can see where people are coming from, his general persona can seem a little stand offish and maybe a tad blunt on first impression (we thought the same) but trust me, what a lovely, sociable, kind hearted man. Don’t let first impressions cloud your overall judgement. The fresh produce in the shop, especially the meat is to die for, yes expensive, but what you are paying for is quality!! Keep up the good work Cwmcerrig!!

Wow, a uniquely rude and ignorant experience from the moronic and verbally abusive bully of an OWNER!! His arrogant behaviour has rubbed off on his staff unfortunately as well. Overpriced but acceptable Sunday lunch, rationed portions even though its supposed to be a carvery, lumpy mash, measly meat portion and the most shocking customer service I have ever experienced, this business does not deserve your cash and will not have a penny more of ours.

Our first visit, and last, was disappointing. Walking in the farm shop you are greeted by many awards on display and a beautiful selection of fresh produce. Moving into the restaurant area, which is covered in specials board menus, there was no friendly welcome. There was an elderly male member of staff picking at the pork crackling while we were being served by a young girl. The ordered food arrived in seconds because it was all pre-cooked even the fried eggs. It was tasteless, poor quality and expensive. Even more off putting in the restaurant was the greasy smell of raw meats from the butchers department a few metres away. It's a shame that a farm shop with fresh products for sell has to serve such poor quality meals.

I can’t help but enjoy some of these reviews. We have visited Cwmcerrig many times and have never experienced the wrath of the owner (yet) but I did feel his eyes on me as I dished up my veg. We ordered 3 lunches and we all enjoyed our food which was very very tasty. There was a very good selection of vegetables and to be honest if you tried every veg there would be no room for more than one scoop of each. The Yorkshire puddings are a bit flat but tasted fine with the gravy. I would advise visit and make your own mind up as long as you don’t take more than 4 roast potatoes .

We were on our way home from a long journey and saw the big balloon advertising this farm shop and cafe so we thought we would stop for food. We naively reasoned that all the efforts to advertise it would make it good! How wrong we were. Even our 11 year old joked that they were luring us in with their inflatable balloon! The cafe prices were WAY too high...and we had driven a long way off the motorway to get there.

Went for lunch yesterday with my husband and disabled daughter. Bought a meat baguette for my husband and a child’s sausage dinner for my daughter! Also two coffees! After 2 spoonfuls of mash potato my daughter did not want anymore, so rather than waste a whole plate of dinner my husband said he would eat it, only then to be approached by the owner who told us we were no longer welcome ever again to buy a child’s meal!! After I explained the situation that the meal was for my daughter who did not want it so rather than waste a dinner we had paid for my husband was eating it, there was no reasoning with him and he told us we were disgusting!! Awful awful customer service!!! I will never return there!

We went to McDonald’s for a quick grab of a cheeseburger and chips that they ran out of so they suggested a Big Mac .. this was disgusting , flabby, old lettuce , the whole thing fell apart .. I had to throw it away .. we asked for coffee and it wasn’t until we were back on the road that we discovered it was a warm hot chocolate.. slow service .. never again

Under new ownership as of 2023 (and maybe new name?), this cafe attached to the small garden centre at Llangadog is well worth a stop. Great cakes, specialist coffees and hot chocolates (try the mint aero hot chocolate!) plus hot food and breakfasts. Simple decor, friendly service, definitely worth a visit.

A lab excellent visit this evening with friends. Great food with no wait all meals were timely measured . The service was 100% and very friendly and polite. It’s nice to chat with someone who thrives to deliver first class service. We had a young lady Christina who served us and was excellent. Ours tables were cleared regularly and we always were asked if we were happy and anything we needed.
