Cutty Sark Tavern in Greenwich

Great beer. Great food. Great service. Great view. I'm not sure why I have to write more to get up to the hundred character minimum when I think my original brief review needs no further qualification. There's nothing wrong with this place!

Glorious. Lovely old pub…atmospheric without being too noisy. Good food. Good beer. Friendly staff. One to visit again.

Cutty Sark is a lovely place where you can learn lots about history of trade as well as Greenwich itself. Highly recommend!!!

Had the best Sunday roast here at the weekend. We sat upstairs and the food ( roast porchetta and a burger) was great and our waiter was attentive, but not intrusive, and fun. The roast size was huge. I highly recommend it- the Cutty Sark is now my favourite local for a roast!

Lovely family day out here and the other venues on our day pass. Thank you to Louis who rescued our day from total disaster, you made a little girl very happy and saved her first trip to London. There was lots to see and do, we particularly enjoyed the sea shatty performance as part of the Easter festivities. When we had finished exploring and learning the lovely cafe under the ship was a perfect end to our visit. Would highly recommend.

Our third visit to this great pub. We had the special of lemon sole and the fish and chips, all were outstanding. We were served by the delightful Emile, if only every place we ate had such a great guy. Fabulous views of the river from our table. A real feel good place.

Great service. Great view in one of the real Jewell’s in the greenwich crown. Real fire places and great food made for a lovely place to celebrate a party. Be warned tho it does get busy and in summer the outside is great

A very nice pub in terms of location (by the river) and internal decor (traditional). We had an excellent upstairs table with a view over the river. The food was a bit of a let down. Mediocre, below average, and not really worth the prices.

Went for a Sunday lunch, really busy, seated on time, food was really good, but most of it was lukewarm, we did get 1 free dessert because of this, but would of preferred hot food

This was the second time at The Cutty Sark. Such a fabulous place with a great atmosphere. The staff were all really friendly and efficient. The food was delicious and our table in the window upstairs afforded us wonderful views over the Thames.

We visited here as a group of four. The museum is built around the ship. The whole attraction is stunning with great descriptions of how the Cutty Sark operated in the past. The museum/ship has lots of little interactive things to keep you interested as you walk around and explore. We loved the top deck, being amongst the masts, rigging and sleep quarters.

My son took me here for Mothers day. We had a Sunday roast and it was delicious. The surroundings are so lovely. I would definitely go again when staying in London

My wife and I along with another couple who reside in Greenwich went to The Cutty Sark for drinks and dinner. The Pub/Restaurant is a beautiful and historic building set on the bank of the Thames River. We were seated upstairs on a busy Saturday night. The pub was crowded and loud but that is what I had expected. Our server was attentive and our drinks came to the table quickly. I am not going to mention the other couples experience because we did not ask them but I will comment on my wife’s and my dining experience. My wife ordered a glass of Pinot Grigio that she thought was very watery and I had the cider that was on tap. I ordered the Haddock, smoked trout and prawn Fisherman’s Pie. My wife ordered the Chicken breast schnitzel. My Fisherman’s Pie had very little fish in it and it was more than 90% mashed potatoes. It was very disappointing. My wife’s schnitzel was deep fried and at best according to her was average. Just after we left the Cutty Sark, I began to feel sick and wanted to throw up. The only thing I can think of that could get me sick since what I had just consumed was mostly mashed potatoes was the grilled langoustine that was on top of the pie. I spent the latter part of my evening throwing up my Fisherman’s Pie. I would say if you want an interesting place to have a drink (not the Pinot Grigio) then go to the Cutty Sark but definitely stay away from the food.

Lovely old pub - wood panelling, fire, comfy chairs, upstairs dining with superb river view. And good food - best battered fish I’ve ever had! Fresh flaky fish, and the lightest crispiest batter - had to eat it all which is most unusual.

We really enjoyed this pub. Fish and chips are great. We also ordered the seafood stew which was not good at all. The hostess wasn’t super nice since we had to convince her to put together 2 tables of four and she really struggled to accept it. But asides from that great place.

Been looking forward to see the Cutty Sark and was not disappointed , great visit really enjoyable , as a person who uses a mobility scooter i could not ask for anymore, everything more or less excusable but still got a full visit , may i also mention the staff really helpful and always there if i needed help with the lifts etc could not ask for anything else brilliant day thankyou

All 4 of us (47,51, 11 & 9 years) really enjoyed our visit on The Cutty Sark! A great way to spend an hour or so if you're in Greenwich. An amazing ship with so much history and a really well thought out exhibition.

We visit the Cutty a lot for drinks and light bites on the quayside. Had my birthday here in the private room, absolutely spectacular views, beautiful room, food was so good - fish really fresh, oysters great, fabulous sharing boards. Such a delightful setting looking over the Thames . Visiting with good friends of the last 50yrs. All staff happy and helpful as usual. We had small plates, very tasty . However the beef carpaccio with celeriac was disappointing in portion size compared to my friends small plates. Celeriac was a few tiny diced pieces and overall poor value for money compared to the trout.

The Cutty Sark has a great location - perhaps the best in South East London. The service is excellent as is the ambience. We tend to use it as a neighbourhood restaurant and on that basis it offers good food, an interesting wine list and good value for money.

Met family here for Sunday lunch and it was awesome! We precooked table and glad we did as it ended up being rather busy there but that didn’t impact our visit, staff were super friendly, personable and attentive. Orders taken swiftly, regular offers of more drinks (pet hate when places don’t do this so kudos to them for this) Food was great, hot, plentiful and tasty! All in all, loved it and would be back in a shot when in London!

£72 (included £7 discretionary tip) for sea bass special x2, chips, peroni and apple juice. Sea bass was deliciously swimming in butter with a few capons on the side and small roasted potatoes. Small fish portion which left me hungry still. Tomato salsa (not salad)- wear glasses next time. Small space upstairs that soon crowded when tables full. Upstairs has a nice view of the river. On street parking using online app- 80p for an hour (after 1730). Friendly staff accommodated our early arrival. 3 stars because food portion was small for its charge IMHO.

My cousin and his wife selected the Cutty Sark for a meet-up with me and my wife as we have not seen each other since before the Pandemic. We had traveled from America and had a break in our travel before heading to Heathrow. This was a special event for all. We arrived around 1 PM and were promptly escorted upstairs to a nice table window. There were no other customers. We all decided on Fish and Chips and a locaI would recommend l ale. The tables began filling up, orders were taken and delivered - but not ours! We were forgotten and ignored! After 45 minutes of waitng I finally had to hale a staff member and we were given a rubbish excuse and weak apology for the lack of attention. The delay created serious concerns for my cousin and his wife as they had a train to hopefully catch (work stoppage issues). To be fair the Fish and Chips was massive and quite good - no one could finish theirs. I would recommend the Cutty Sark but not if you are looking for good and polite service.

Been visiting this pub for many years, the staff are very friendly and the food has always been good. The location is close to Greenwich but far enough away to avoid the frenetic business of the tourist trade.
