Cutter & Squidge in City of London, Westminster

A decent sized slice of cake for London prices (£5.90 take away). The lovely woman behind the counter suggested the Chocolate Squidge Cake and to leave it an hour before eating. It was light, soft and (arguably) not too sweet (by chocolate cake terms!) however you could barely taste the other Carmel layers. No cupcakes here, only the slices when it comes to cake. The bakery was empty because it was early (no plug sockets for anyone thinking about setting up shop)

I ordered the Giant Birthday Biskie online for delivery and what a delicious cake it is! The cookie top and base are chewy. The salted caramel buttercream is sweet and the marshmallow in the middle is very soft and perfectly roasted. I ordered from Cutter & Squidge the day before so to receive the cake before midday the next day was nice. I will definitely be ordering from C & S in the future as I can already confirm that their cakes are of a high standard.

Fabulous mini cupcakes! Thank you! It’s our 3rd time ordering from you and you never disappoint! Everything is easy and the mini cupcakes are gorgeous! So perfect for bite size treats at an event and they taste delicious too! We also tried the brownies too last time and they were also Incredible!!

Best sponge cake in town. I have tried here so many times and I’m always in love with the cake. The sponge is always moist and not too sweet. Filing always has good texture and has fine balance

Cosy cafe which was surprisingly uncrowded on a Sunday afternoon - great spot for a quieter catch up with a friend. Unfortunately, the scones were pretty hard despite being heated up, and the jam and clotted cream came in pre-packaged pots. The lychee and peach tea was pretty yummy. Would probably be back just to have a tea or coffee next time if I'm in the area.

AVOID. I have ordered from these guys in the past and always some issue or another. Either a damaged cake, a wrong cake and on this occasion no cake. We waited all day to surprise my mum and nothing turned up. I contacted them the next day and they offered me a 50% VOUCHER. I understand things can go wrong but NOT all the bloody time. And if things do go wrong then at least offer a full refund. NEVER ORDERING FROM HERE AGAIN.

Wonderful cakes and a very good chocolate!

I was delivered a Cutter and Squidge cake for my birthday from family. It was a passionfruit & pistachio cake. Packing and delivery was actually clean, the cake maintained its presentation following its journey. Cake looked beautiful. But the cake it self... If your target is to get diabetes, this is a great choice! The little toppings on the cake? Glazed. The cream on top of the cake? It's basically just pure sugar. The cake sponge? Soaked in a sugar pot for 10 days. The filler cream? Need I say more... Did anyone actually check how much sugar they added? One bite and I got a headache. You need to have a balance. You cant have over the top sweetness from the cream take over an over the top sweet sponge. The worst cake I've ever had, and i've had cakes at places like "The Sugar Factory".

I ordered the chocolate squidge cake for a friend. Andrew was a big help while I was placing the order since it was online and I was in India. My friend loved the cake! The delivery was perfect too. Thank you Andrew for all the assistance you provided.

For drinks, we ordered a latte and tea, and that was fine. For snacks, we ordered the strawberry biskie and the vegan chocolate caramel cake, and both were tasty. The place is aesthetically pleasing, and great for pictures/video.

Wish I had read the courier/delivery reviews first! Delivered damaged and brownies leaking from the package and in crumbs. Ordered from overseas for Birthday for special family member so very disappointed.

What good is a Birthday Cake that delivered after a Birthday? Then to add insult, only a voucher is offered instead of a refund. Disappointed at the response and failure to refund. A loyal customer.

I booked afternoon tea mid September 2024 for 7 people and can I just say how amazing everything was from start to the finish. Customer service was friendly from the moment we all walked in and were shown to our table. The staff were so friendly (despite being so busy) they made sure we didn't have to wait too long for our order and when it arrived they made sure we received everything we ordered. I would highly recommend going to Cutter and Squidge for afternoon tea it's so fun and vibrant you won't forget how great food is!!!

We won a home afternoon tea for two in a raffle and it was delicious. The scones, jam and cream were just as scones should be, the chocolate cake was really chocolatey with nice crunchy bits, the lemon cake was so full of fabulously different flavours and the tea, which we served in a proper tea-pot with our best china tea-cups, was so very tasty. All-in-all a fabulous treat for us. Thank you Cutter & Squidge!

The cakes look so delicious, but the names do not match the ingredients. I bought a cheesecake that is not a cheesecake. The cream contains 90% butter. Thanks to the staff for the refund. But unfortunately it affected my mood. I am very upset.

Service isn’t bad but for a £20 cake slice was an absolute disaster. Cake was dry and stale. One layer was inedible.

We have ordered the Hazelnut and Chocolate cake as a Birthday present. The cake arrived next day by lunch time. Would not change anything in a cake and would definitely recommend trying it. Delicious!!!

Absolute horrible service and even worse cake! They have absolute no empathy or treat customers in a respectful manner. They just seem to be blaming the customers rather than ever take ownership for their mess ups. The cake I ordered was so so dry and just inedible, when I reached out, I wasn’t given any way to fix it however I was told everything I must have done. Worse than a grocery store cake.

The carrot cake I ordered was good but my friend’s passion fruit cake wasn’t The biscuits and other sweets weren't tasty Scones were ok They have decent tea collection and it was good I ordered hibiscus Sandwiches were 6.5/10 The have candles if you want to celebrate your day I don’t recommend this place for afternoon tea 😅

I had such an amazing experience ordering a cake on their website (from the Philippines!) and having it delivered to my friend as a gift. Ordered on Wednesday and was supposed to be delivered on Friday. Unfortunately, my friend didn't know that the parcel is a cake, so he diverted it to a collection point and got notified by DHL that it can only be collected on Monday. I then filled out Cutter & Squidge's contact form, and Gaby was so nice to assist me and make me experience their happiness guarantee. She told me that they will resend my order on the following day (Saturday) and that my friend will receive a fresh cake! Felt very happy and satisfied from feeling very anxious real quick! I had such an amazing experience that it made me want to visit their physical store when I get to visit London. Been ordering from them since 2022.

I ordered the special Hugo Spritz Gift set and candles for a birthday. Everyone who tasted the cake said it was delicious. It didn't quite look as expected and we had an issue with the courier but Gaby at Cutter & Squidge responded immediately and I will definitely keep ordering.

My friends got me a cake from here they brought me a lemon drizzle cake when I opened the box I was aesthetically pleased with the boxing and the colour of the box it's a nice orange then it had a little description on a card telling me what it tasted like then the cake it's self looked so beautiful I took my first bite out of the cake and it was exactly like the description it was zingy, zesty, citrusy creamy and soft it melted in my mouth

Cutter and Squidge have excellent customer service! I had an issue with my delivery as I had an appointment on the same day, but Andrew from customer services gave me a really speedy, helpful response. Within a few hours he had amended the date for me, with only a small charge to pay because I was changing to weekend delivery. Now all I have to do is await the yummy treats!

Passion fruit and pistachio cake was absolutely delicious & everyone loved it! There was an issue with the delivery however, the service was outstanding and Oana dealt with the service was in an efficient manner.

I was craving chocolate cake, and Cutler & Squidge was the first place that came to my mind. It didn't disappoint me. I had a chocolate squidge cake and it tasted stunning. The buttercream and the ganache were smooth, sweet, and chocolatey, and the sponge layers were soft and dense but not overly sweet. I recommend this place and I'm looking forward to trying out more cakes in the future.

I wouldn't recommend ordering online. I ordered this cake for my sons birthday, it arrived warm and looked like this when I opened it. Absolutely gutted. I was expecting way better as it was quite pricey. Let's hope it tastes better than it looks.

I discovered Cutter & Squidge a few years ago and have ordered from them on a number of occasions. The recipients of my orders have always been delighted with the baked goodies they received. However, for me, the ultimate test is how a company reacts when things go wrong and today I found out! Through no fault of Cutter & Squidge the delivery I scheduled for my friend's birthday was delivered to an unknown address. Luckily the courier company provided a photo of the rather distinctive front door they had delivered to, so my friend was eventually able to track down her brownies and prosecco. During the wait between delivery and discovery, I contacted both Cutter & Squidge and the courier company. Andrew at Cutter & Squidge was fabulous and couldn't have been more helpful... I definitely recommend them both for delicious cakes and for the quality of the customer service

My friend sent me the vegan chocolate brownies for my birthday last week and they were so delicious I decided to return the gesture with sending him a box for his birthday. I ordered a beautiful Three Tier Decorated Naked Wedding Cake for my wedding. The cake is absolutely incredible, above and beyond my expectations. My guests loved each layer, it was perfectly flavoured!

The cake was nice and well balanced. Customer service was also very helpful, reached out for a change in address prior to delivery and Gaby was able to sort it out for my pretty quickly :)

Ordered online and almost had a terrible experience, but Oana rescued it with 5-star customer service! Cake delivery for a family member's birthday didn't go out on the scheduled day (Saturday). Mailed the C&S team that night, got a response on Sunday morning with apologies and alternative arrangements. Greatly appreciate the initiative shown, and will definitely use them again for all our UK celebrations. P.S. - Beautiful, clean looking website with very professional preview images. Ordered a red velvet cake for someone but the cake was dry, stale and with sickly sweet icing. The decoration on top of the cake was smashed and became disgusting wilted petals. Nothing about this cake was worth the £24. Additionally, DHL failed to deliver the cake due to an address issue, which mind you has never happened before when I use the same address but somehow this was also my fault. When I reached out to C&S, they told me that my address was incorrect and I need to contact DHL. They couldn’t even do that much for their clients. The cake came two days after the requested delivery when I didn’t need it anymore. All in all, not worth the money. The pictures look great online but in reality it’s just another Tesco cake. No actually, Tesco cakes and tastier and prettier looking.

I called from Switzerland on a Monday and got two cakes delivered to Guildford on the Tuesday - thanks to Oana. And the team who received the cakes said they were delicious. I'll go back to Cutter & Squidge every time now.

I can’t comment yet on the food or atmosphere as I’ve not been but I can say I ordered an afternoon tea to be delivered as a surprise for an unwell aunt. She was taken into hospital so they kindly cancelled my order. I will be ordering again as soon as my aunt is out of hospital.

i ordered a birthday cake on thursday for saturday delivery and this is how it arrived. completely destroyed and unrecognizable. the box was not damaged on the top which leads me to believe that the plastic that was put on top of the cake by the bakery is what caused this. i wish i could have opted to have the cake delivered in a tin but oddly that is only an option for the 6 inch cakes which is absurd. my birthday party is tomorrow (sunday) and i called the bakery right away regarding this and of course they cannot get a new cake to me on time. completely unacceptable and disappointing.

Please check u r bank transactions after u do a payment here, I have brought a cake on the 15th of this month and they have charged me twice (£84)on my card, the lady first said it happens with some customers and one says it’s never happened like this before and said ooh it will come back into your account, it’s 19th now the money never came back after repeated calls they now they say call u bank , imagine if I don’t check my transactions I would even know that they charges me twice,it clearly says that my money has been hold by Cutters and squidge.

I've ordered a cake and it came 3 days later in bad condition. Was send by DHL and it came destroyed and of course not kept in a fridge so you can imagine the quality. I paid for the cake and delivery just so I can put in the garbage. Highly dissatisfied

I ordered the Squidge selection box. The quality of the food was terrible. Everything tasted stale. The macaroons were inedible, hard and sickly sweet. The Briskies also tasted stale and completely lacking flavour. The mini cupcakes were the most edible but couldn't come close to making up for how horrible the rest of it was. Really shockingly bad food for way too much money. If these were a quarter of the price I still would have felt cheated. The packaging looked like it cost more and was of a higher quality than any of the food

Ordered online picnic hamper sent to a friend in Glasgow. Had two issues both of which were brilliantly handled by Andrew not only to my satisfaction but way way beyond. My friend said the food was exceptional. She was sending me texts for days about the choice and the quality I can’t wait to use them again the not going to be my go to present (replacing last year’s cocktail present) and I’m going to make a point of a visiting the police in person to experience this for myself, thank you. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Difficult to fully rate as product was not delivered. Poor customer service in getting the situation rectified and ultimately wanted to cancel as taking lots of time, and phonecalls as DHL tracking link was not working. Spoke to a few people and was over-promised and under delivered. How they think it's okay to have fresh cakes bouncing around a DHL van/depot for a few days before delivering (despite promising they had been) is not acceptable. They refused a refund, gave a £10 gift card instead. Very disappointing as was an intended gift as a thank you. Ended up making another order with a different company.
