The Curry Inn is the best Indian restaurant I have been to in the UK! We have tried various items on the menu; curries, starters, sides, and everything is fantastic. They are more than happy to alter food based on your preferences and what you're served with is perfect every time. The prices are great and they have special offers through the week. Jennifer has served us when we have been there and she is so lovely! Not just a friendly and positive presence, but she has, on multiple occasions, recommended meals that we would never have tried that have been incredible. Love this place.

Arrived into Gatwick and wanted to have an early dinner before my drive into central London. The reviews looked good so I gave it a try. The starter of chicken tikka was very underwhelming, it looked like it had been pre-prepared and warmed in the microwave. The chicken was fibrous and swimming in its own juices which wouldn't be the case if it had been freshly made in a tandoor. Then the main curry arrived with a naan which I had to send back. The bread was heavy and doughy and fell apart as I tried to eat with it. The replacement took 5 mins, by which time my food was cold. They were polite and accommodating, but I just felt that the food was below average. Nothing special at all, just Friday night after pub food.

We ordered a takeaway from here unexpectedly as we had visitors that wanted a specific curry dish that our usual place didn’t have on the menu. This place had the best reviews out of the other available options so we ordered. It was a bit more expensive than the usual place but the food was delicious and arrived quickly. I would order from here again. There was so much food I had leftovers for breakfast 👍🏻

We were so disappointed with this restaurant. I ordered lamb curry. The sauce was a tomato sauce like we would put over spaghetti. But worst if all, my lamb was beef and quite tough. My husband had large shrimp curry, same sauce. Cauliflower had the same sauce. Mentioned the problem to our waiter and he angrily took our uneaten meals away. Then promptly charged us £53 for dinner. We told him exactly what we thought before he brought the bill. The only other couple in there left before we did and stopped to ask us if we enjoyed our meal because they did not. Do not est here. There are lots of other restaurants in Horley.

The food was nice and the waiters helpful, although they made us wait nearly 5 minutes for the rice once the curries had arrived. We decided to visit this old favourite on a Sunday evening to round off 2018. As always we parked in the public car park which is free after 6 and is barely 2 minutes walk from the restaurant. There were spaces outside which we could have used had we so wished. When we entered there were a few people waiting for take aways and no-one else seated at a table. We had to wait several minutes to be seated as the only member of staff was on the phone taking a take away order. The restaurant has been refurbished since I last visited and is now fresh and bright and in keeping with the modern trend for hard surfaces everywhere. As we were the only diners noise was not an issue.Once seated we were given menus and a drinks order taken. We were also asked if we would like poppadums which we duly ordered. Drinks were quickly served and the poppadums arrived after a few minutes. The restaurant now only sells bottled beers and the Cobra was nicely chilled to a very refreshing temperature. The poppadums were fresh and crisp with no oily aftertaste. The accompaniments wre excellent with the mango chutney thick and plentiful. We ordered our mains when the poppadums were served as experience has taught us that if you don’t it can be a long wait until the waiter returns from taking phoned orders.Mains were served reasonably quickly and as always were excellent. My chicken Madras was moist with a good balance of meat and rich spicy sauce. Rice was nicely steamed and fluffy with well separated grains. Our mushroom bhaji was nicely spiced with a good balance of spices. The naan was well cooked and not too heavily laden with ghee. Portion sizes were good and more than adequate for a normal appetite.During the course of our meal another two tables were occupied but overall the restaurant remained very quiet. At least the steady stream of take away orders ensured the kitchen was busy and all dishes were freshly prepared.Overall we had an excellent meal and this remains a really great curry restaurant. However it is clear that the business is focussed on the take away aspect and during quiet times this does mean that the service is not as attentive as it could be. Will we return, of course as the fare is excellent and parking is easy and free in the evenings. It is not expensive and drinks, poppadums and mains for 2 should leave change from £40. There is no automatic service charge so a tip is at your discretion.

We had 2 main dishes of lamb and pron that tasted fresh, flavorful and very well cooked. Garlic bread which was very tasty. Both food and service was excellent. When finished with the meal we asked for a desert menu which we got right away but unfortunately no one ever came back to check what we wanted, after about 15 minute wait we changed our minds. They were busy and we just felt best to close the bill and leave. We were not angry and still very happy with our service. we just happen to no longer want dessert after the wait. On paying the bill i believe what was the manager or owner possibly offered a complimentary drink as he noticed we had waited a long time. We had a nice baileys and a brandy on the house. This was not required or requested in any way, simply a good business gesture after noticing slow service. We were very pleased with our visit and would return any time.

They were stressed and most apologetic for the fact that one their staff didn't show on January 2nd(!!!). The food was excellent, delicious and carefully presented/prepared. Lovely starched tablecloth and napkins. Good service. My only complaint would be the cost of a beer but perhaps that's a UK thing because the night before in London's Clapham we paid £6 for a glass or relatively crap wine. NB we live in France, Spain (even Ibiza) and Italy where wine is considered a necessity with a meal; not a prime money making vehicle.

Like many people overnighting at Gatwick, we popped here in a taxi (£6 from North terminal) for a last minute dose of Indian food before flying off the next day. It was certainly well worth it (better than expensive hotel food) & lived up to the reviews we read before making the choice. The staff were very welcoming, friendly & helpful & the food was very tasty & a good standard for fairly basic Indian curry. The stand out dish for me was the Naga lamb, which was excellent. Naga is a particularly tasty & interesting chilli, that adds fire to a dish but isn't too overpowering. I was also given a special side dish of fresh Naga chilli which was a real treat. We had a bottle of the French house red wine to wash it all down, which was reasonably priced & quite acceptable. After this experience, we'd certainly visit again next time we're overnighting at the airport.

We visited this old favourite on a weekday evening when the desire for curry needed sating. We arrived around 6:45 to find the restaurant very quiet with only three other tables occupied. We were promptly seated by the window and left to appraise our surroundings for several minutes before the waiter returned to take our drinks order and bring menus. At this point we tried to order popadums but this seemed a step too far. The restaurant no longer sells draught Cobra with only the bottled variety on offer. Drinks duly arrived and after a wait we were able to order said appetisers. The Cobra was nicely chilled and served just as it should be.When the poppadums eventually arrived we were left to contemplate the activity on Massett’s Road. They were fresh and crisp with no oily aftertaste. The chutneys and salads were excellent particularly the mango chutney which was thick and with a hint of spice to counteract the sweetnessEventually our order was taken and we were left to once again admire the Horley street scene. We decided to skip starters and our main course was served around 7:30. I had my staple of chicken madras with mushroom bhaji, rice and naan bread. The chicken was tender and juicy and the sauce was well spiced. The balance of chicken to sauce seemed to have shifted towards sauce since I last visited but overall the portion size was generous. The rice portion was large with fluffy and well separated grains. The mushroom bhaji was excellent with a good balance between the mushrooms and the other ingredients and was nicely spiced. The naan bread was thick with a crisp crust and soft well cooked interior. The staff as always were friendly and polite. Throughout our meal there was a constant stream of takeaway orders being collected or prepared for delivery to the extent that this was the main focus of all the staff leading to long waits for the diners in the restaurant. When our bill arrived we were offered complementary drinks.Would we return? This is a difficult decision as the curry is first rate but service is slow and takes second place to the takeaway side of the business. The restaurant offers excellent value and if you are in no hurry and want to have a leisurely meal and a chat then it is worth visiting. Midweek you can even park right outside the door.

I reviewed the Curry Inn at the beginning of the year and when my daughter arrived home recently she insisted we visited again so she could enjoy her favourite dishes. As always we parked in the nearby large, free after 6, car park and walked round the corner to the restaurant. When we entered we were greeted like returning friends which given it is over 6 months since we last visited gives an indication of how the management value their customers. We were offered a choice of tables as the restaurant was only about half full. Once seated menus arrived and we ordered our staple of Cobra, poppadums and chutney while deciding if we would change our standard order of king prawn bhuna chicken madras, mushroom baji, rice and naan bread. Since we last visited the y have stopped serving draft Cobra and only bottles were on offer. The beer was well chilled and very drinkable.Poppadums were fresh and crisp with no oily aftertaste and a good accompaniment to our conversational catch up. We ordered our standard main courses and these soon arrived. As always curry was well spiced and the chicken was moist and tender. The madras was well spiced with hints of tomato flavourThe mushroom baji was well cooked and the mushrooms soft and succulent without that rubbery texture so often encountered. The naan was just the right thickness to be cooked through while retaining a soft texture ideal for picking up pieces of curry and mopping up any excess gravy. Rice was fluffy and well separated. The staff were their usual attentive selves and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. After the meal hot towels were provided for a quick freshen up. The restaurant has a thriving takeaway trade and this can at times result in a wait for dishes to be served. If you are having a sociable meal where a more relaxed pace is acceptable then this is not an issue. However if you want a quick meal then the wait could be an issueA thoroughly enjoyable meal in what I think is the best Indian restaurant in Horley and I will certainly be back, several times I hope, in the next 12 months. If you are staying in the Gatwick area and fancy a curry then the Curry Inn is well worth a visit. You can take the train from Gatwick to Horley and walk down from the station in a little under 10 minutes.

The naans were both soggy, heavy and burnt.... what a stupid mistake! We will stick with our usual in the future.

We were out with friends on Thursday night and had planned to go to the restaurant opposite, which has closed down, so decided to go visit the Curry Inn which is their regular weekend takeaway. We got seated very considerately away from other diners (there were 4 of us) and just ordered mains and sides. They have a great menu with a wide selection and I was tempted with kahari or mughlai chicken but went for my usual korma. It was really good - big chunks of chicken in a creamy sauce. My husband had a lamb dish which he also thoroughly enjoyed. The service was great - quite quick and the staff were very friendly and attentive. This is definitely a restaurant we'll be adding to our regular choices.

We only tend to go down to the Gatwick area once a year but found this really great Indian restaurant a few years ago and have been going back ever since. The staff are really friendly, polite and attentive. The food is cooked to order and arrives in good time with no waiting around, and is an authentic taste of India. Portions are of a reasonable size without being too large. Prices are excellent as well. Thoroughly recommended.

We cannot fault the food here. We were only customers at 10pm and the staff were keen to please. £70 for meal for 4 with drinks. The laminated menus are a bit tired.

I visited the Curry Inn last night, with a colleague of mine and must say it was very pleasant indeed. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the draught beer wasn't very good at all!

Arrived at 1945, was quite quiet. We got offered drinks as soon as we sat down. When the waiter brought the drinks he asked if we wanted popadoms, which arrived quickly & we then ordered our main meals. The main meals of vegetable korma, pilau rice, saag loo & vegetable biryani arrived after about 20 mins, it was all piping hot & we both enjoyed the dishes very much. The portions sizes were more than ample & we even took some home with us. As we were leaving about 2100 it was getting quite busy.

Booked online and was sat a table before I could say this, very busy with take always with the door area full of people. Our server a Romanian woman putting on an Indian voice served us as if she was on a challenge to get us out within the hour and asking us 3 times if the food is ok is excessive. The food was fine and was offered a baileys or whisky ( fiancée being 8 months pregnant wasn't ideal) but just as I was about to pay the bill was whisked off and I was told it didn't have my last beer then in was brought back and I was asked how many beers I had and it was correct as it originally was. The noise from the take always and the phone ringing certainly took away the romantic aspect as was being rushed. I will try elsewhere next time.

I preordered this meal and my husband went to collect it. He asked if the 10% reduction had been applied as he was collecting - he was told yes but no it wasn't.Both Naan breads were burnt underneath and not nice at all.The Chilli Chicken and the the Garlic chicken were very similar in taste bar a few chillis. Not impressed, did used to really like this place.

Haven't been here in 20 years but having tried all others locally decided on impulse to give it a try and glad I did. Yes the menu has a rather retro laminate feel but the food was stupendous. Meal for two with beers at fifty pounds made it good value. Definitely coming back.

The curry inn, yes I have to agree terrible name that's well dated now ,but it says what you get on the tin. The curry inn is not about having a trendy name or flashy decor it's about proper authentic curry dishes served by knowledgeable and helpful staff, my wife has a co worker that lives in India and when he visits that's the only place he wants to go( says it all for me)

It is now over 12 months since I last reviewed the Curry Inn and having eaten there regularly over the period I was there again with my daughter on Wednesday when she came home for Christmas .We parked in the nearby large, free after 6, car park and walked round the corner to the restaurantAs always we were warmly welcomed and offered a choice of tables as the restaurant was only about half full. Once seated menus arrived and we ordered our staple of Cobra, poppadums and chutney while deciding if we would change our standard order of king prawn bhuna chicken madras, mushroom baji, rice and naan bread.Poppadums were fresh and crisp with no oily aftertaste and a good accompaniment to our conversational catch up. We ordered our standard main courses and these soon arrived. As always curry was well spiced and the chicken was moist and tender. The mushroom baji was well cooked and the mushrooms soft and succulent without that rubbery texture so often encounteredThe staff were their usual attentive selves and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. After the meal hot towels were provided for a quick freshen upWhen the bill arrived it was accompanied by a complimentary liqueur.A thoroughly enjoyable meal in what I think is the best Indian restaurant in Horley and I will certainly be back, several times I hope, in the next 12 months. If in the Gatwick \ Horley area a visit is thoroughly recommended.

prope old fashioned curry house that I have been refquenting for 20 years, they do everything right and the only thing would be the very dated interior, I can't remember if it has ever been done up or not - so no impact there.

The staff here remember their regular customers, by name. We have never been disappointed with our food - usually a takeaway. The prices are reasonable and the taste of the food conveys the good quality ingredients that are used. I would always recommend this to anyone visiting Horley, or staying over at an airport hotel, and fancy a good curry. The Curry Inn Special is delicious

Whilst not providing the more 'gourmet' Indian dining experience of some of the local popular curry houses, the curry inn offers a very good meal for your more 'standard' indian food. They've a good quality, well cooked staple menu, with some interesting and well balanced specials available as well. All food is cooked very fresh and to taste, with the dhansak's being a personal favourite. What the curry inn also does very well is provide's a friendly service. Ali and his guys are always polite, and chatty without being overbearing and too pandering like some curry houses. None the less, they're always keen to chat and ask how you are, whilst leaving you to yourself if you just want to get on and eat.

When we arrived we were the first in the restaurant and I thought the waiter a little abrupt when we sat down as he cleared dishes and glasses from the table that was seated for 4 too leave it seated for 2 , no excuse me's or anything else and he just put the menus on the table. We had poppadoms with the usual sides which were nice. I ordered chicken balti, when it came, it looked good but this is the saltiest dish I have ever tasted, it was disgusting, I couldn't taste any lovely spices but salt, my wife tasted it and agreed. I pointed it out to the waiter but he offered no excuses but did ask if we wanted complimentary drinks just as we were leaving.I see this place has good reviews but I did see someone else complain about too salty so it's not a one off, why use salt anyway, Indian food has too many spices too add the great British obsession with salt.My wife had no complaits about her meal so that's why I gave it 2 instead of 1 mark

We've eaten here a few times prior to flying out of Gatwick the next morning. Service is OK but could be friendlier. We always eat from the specials menu. On my last visit I had the jeera chicken, which tasted very salty. My husband had jalfrezi chicken that looked more like a balti or Korai with big chunks of peppers and onions. The nan was nice and fluffy and the aloo gobi OK, although could have done with more cauliflower. We also had a tarka dal which was nice and thick. The Jalfrezi was much less salty and had a pleasant hotness. Wine is a bit pricy so we normally stick to a large bottle of Indian lager.I never get the feeling I want to linger in this restaurant, but for us it is a traditional stop off after a few drinks in the local Wetherspoons.

Tasty food- small portions and expensive. The dips were just average that came with the poppadoms. I had to ask for lime pickle twice the waiter didn't understand the spoken English language. The Dahl was very good. Tiny portion of 3 prawns as a starter some £11 I recall. My wife's main of king prawns was tiny just six prawns of standard size and lots of sauce. We complained and double the quantity reappeared. My lamb curry was tasty small rice served with it. 30% off on the Wednesday.
