What a sumptuous dish! Both Tandoori and curry chefs deserve MICHELIN STARS indeed! Moreover, Management as well as customer service provided a magnificent one! I've been ordering from curry house for a couple of years now and they have always been perfect, tonight's meals just didn't seem as good as normal (new ownership) I will try again but if they can't keep the same standards as before I will be looking for a new indian takeaway sorry.

Ordered last night, new owners taken over and the food was just a nice as before 😊 really nice flavour, will definitely still be ordering from here.

New owners have taken over. Lamb was inedible - tasted like bleach. Whole meal was just nothing like it used to be.

I always order from curry house, but tonight it was very watery and flavourless. So disappointed

Amazing food, always used to go here when I lived in Hitchin, now I have moved away. Was visiting the area and ordered my usual combination of food last weekend . These lot can cook to a really high standard and qaulity again. Legends in the game

my order eventually turned up Luke warm! I had 4 bits of chicken in my korma the rest was sauce I had 2 mint sauces delivered I only ordered 1 my popadom was only half a popadom,my nan bread was burnt I paid £17.00 for this rubbish I expect a refund I will never use curry garden ever again!!!

I'm not sure how this is 4.5 on Deliveroo. Nothing majorly wrong with our food but it was incredibly bland and poor quality. Biryani was basically the same as the Mushroom Rice with a small amount of meat, Veggie curry is 90% cabbage (incredibly lazy), Onion Bhajis weren't cooked through. Naan bread was decent. Tikka Masala sauce tasted ok but was just a generic curry sauce and not Masala. The chicken in the Tikka Masala was tough and poor quality. Overall disappointed and definitely won't be returning.

Absolutely amazing curry & naan to satisfy my authentic indian craving. They even personalised spice level for me.

We placed an order at circa 7.30pm and were told that the food would arrive at 8.45pm. It was a Saturday night, so I appreciate that it can get very busy and was therefore understanding when I called at 9.05pm to check where the food was; however; we called a further 4 times and were told repeatedly that it would arrive in 15-20 minutes time, but in the end it finally arrived (just) over 3 hours later at 10.30pm! Yes - waiting 3 hours to receive the food was quite annoying, but what really wound me up was the persistent lying about when the food would arrive. If they had told me initially that they were very busy and would not be able deliver for some time, that would have been absolutely fine and I would have just ordered elsewhere... but oh no, they chose to keep up appearances and insist that my food would soon be arriving even though they hadn't even started cooking it. Anyway, as a consolation for the 3 hour wait on a night we were celebrating a family member's birthday, they offered us two bottles of Coca Cola which we kindly declined. Please see below for an overview. Positives: Good papadums (very crispy), nice garlic naan (although we, unfortunately, only ended up with one despite ordering two), three of the seven curries were well received (especially the Massala) Negatives: Repeated lying about the delivery time, 3 hour wait for the food, missing naan, no discount (not even 5%) for the wait, poor consolatory offer Overall, it was a real shame as it was our first time ordering from the Curry House as I saw that they had good reviews; although, overall we were thoroughly disappointed in the end! Safe to say, I think it is highly unlikely that we will be returning!

Ordered through Deliveroo. Food arrived about 15 minutes earlier than expected. Dishes were piping hot and very tasty, and not at all oily. Enjoyed the extras that came with the meal, as well as the presentation. Like the fact that they cater for vegans/vegetarians with lots of Quorn dishes. Will definitely be ordering again.

My food was 45 minuets late and showed on just eat as delivered from the time it was supposed to arrive. I had to call and ask where it was twice. Each time i was told “they are just bagging it up now”. The food arrived cold. They offered no compensation or good will gesture. I’m very disappointed and it’s spoiled my plans.

Fresh, hot, amazing curries. Best takeaway we’ve ever had. It even turned up early! Delivery driver was very friendly too. I’ve ordered from the very start of this business and it is still as amazing. 5* you have to try this place

Placed an order through justeat, turned up within 40 mins piping hot! Best curry I have ever had! Generours portion sizes too! Will 1000% be ordering from here again, no questions asked. Excellent service, friendly delivery staff, packaged well, even down to the cardboard laid in the bag for sturdiness! Wow! 5+ stars!

Ordered food from here, had nothing other than a confirmation for over an hour, so I gave them a call and was told it would be another 15 minutes. Waited another 40 minutes and it still hadn't arrived. Ended up waiting over 2 hours since receiving the confirmation and still hadn't received my order, so I called to cancel. They weren't even apologetic. Needless to say won't be ordering from here again.

Rude customer service and made to feel bad when chasing our food that was already 45mins late ..... only then told an additional 30 mins OVER 2hrs late and STILL can’t guarantee when the food will be with us ... especially when we ordered in the morning of that day for a timed a lot through Just Eat Shocking customer service !

Amazing vegetarian dishes and Quorn curries. Super tasty food and the staff are always so lovely. Big portions and really reasonable. We always have leftovers for the next day which is a great treat!

Ordered at 1830 via ubereats. App tells me delivery will be between 1910/30 all good so far. Gets to 1940 no food, I call the curry house. Man answers and tells me they have NO RECORD of my order! I ask are you sure? Yes, no order! So what happens next? He says as I'm an Uber eats customer it's not his fault and I have to ring them! I quite stunned by this! My partner and I are left sitting at the table expecting our food and now realise that we are getting nothing! 15 minutes later the phone rings, it's the takeaway, same man I spoke to earlier. Apparently they have just received my order! One and a half hours after I made it? It all sounds suspicious to me, but as I'm really hungry and looking forward to my meal I agree to wait the 45 minutes he says it will take to prepare and deliver. The food eventually arrives at just gone 2100, two and a half hours after I originally ordered it and after a stressful 15 minutes earlier where I was told my order hadn't been received and I was going to get no food! I have complained to ubereats about this and sent feedback to the curry house. I received a response from the curry house earlier where the management have written a bare faced lie about what happened. They claim their driver came out with the food earlier on and got no response from the door so he bought it back! They claim that when I rang they told me that as the food was cold they would have to make it again! Lies, lies, lies. I can only assume that the ubereats order did come through straight away, they mislaid or forgot about it and are now making up a pack of lies to cover up their incompetence. I don't take kindly to liars who are trying to lay blame at my door. This establishment is a disgrace, rude staff who lie and care nothing about customer service. As a final note the food was utter rubbish. Bland, mediocre rubbish that was only fit for the bin.

Food ordered with Uber eats delivery app...late by 2 hrs 50 mins. No sorry, no compensation no nada!...paid up front, terrible customer service as called twice to ask where the order that was paid in advance..Answer: we haven't received the order from Uber eats delivery!"...really? When the credit card used had taken payment? Too far to deliver that 3.1 miles ?....mmm Definately will not use Uber eats or Curry house bearton road again...thanks for a disappointing evening. 👎

Top notch grub. Chicken sishlack was mouth watering And chicken madras/vindaloo very tasty, plenty of meat in it. Came with complementary popadoms, salad and sauces. This will probably be my new curry house to use Overall 9/10 Very very good

One of the best take away curries my wife have ordered from. Even though delivery was an hour late. They were really nice on the phone and we were patient during this pandemic. Understandably busy on a Saturday evening. Can't wait to enjoy their food again :) Edit: 5 Stars. We have ordered food 2 more times from here and the delivery was on point! Love the food it is just tooo good :)

Wrong food and cold 1st time though

Ordered food at 19:30 and despite multiple calls to the restaurant to be insulted by the staff the food never arrived. Avoid at all costs as they are a disgrace

We was told our wait would be up to an hour due to being busy and this was completely fine... 2 and a half hours later and 4 phone calls and a very rude manager our food arrived at 11pm. Service was Appalling and the food wasn’t great either. Definitely avoid this place unless you’re ordering for the next day 🤦🏽‍♀️. Very disappointing.

Ordered a food and advised of a 45/60min wait, 90mins later chased and told its on its way, Max 15mins wait. Chased again and an extremely rude man told us to wait another 20minutes and hung up. When called back and asked for a refund told ok, and again hung up. Called a few times and always hung up. No idea of the food but the service is appalling.

Food not great, not all food was given when taken away and food given wasn’t what was ordered. When dealing with this situation the customer service was incredibly poor and the gentlemen who dealt with it couldn’t care less!

Ordered a chicken masala, taste like a Corma, very sweet almost as a dessert and to much coconut, partner took it back tried telling us it’s meant to be like that, Phone after guy telling us he is Indian and he knows best. Not good customer service and food was awful more like a dessert.

Did write a really long review because I was so disappointed but then my phone crashed. Probably best to just share a summary with you anyway nobody wants to read a long review. Food received 2.5 hours after order, when phoning to check what had happened to order kept being told it was on its way so kept waiting, partner is a diabetic so after genuinely believing them the first time had insulin but then had to find something to eat to stop blood sugar from droppin , said they were unable to refund anything as we'd ordered from just eat no other compensation nor real apology was offered, apparently meat curry was tasty if you are looking for a a positive, naans all burnt on one side and as a non meat Eater who normally loves Indian spiced veggies was so sad that my vegetables were not warm and kind of bland - after paying full price waiting till 11 for my dinner I ate my burnt naans with cold in the middle bland spinach and could not bring myself to eat the over cooked just cold okra, my very hungry niece ate her food a flavoursome curry containing a few pieces of chicken floating in sauce then went straight to bed, and the birthday lady just kept apologising to us all for not cooking for us or arranging to go out for dinner!

Had used Curry House on several occasions in the past as the food was excellent, until last Saturday! Ordered a takeaway at 5 pm, advised delivery would be 6 so no problem there. Received a message saying the order was on its way at 18.02 followed by another message advising the order was delayed. Finally delivered an hour late and with lukewarm food and a delivery driver with no change so paid more than we should have done. Just eat advised the restaurant would not give any money back for the delayed order, saying their driver was stuck in traffic! An hour to drive a few miles? Called the restaurant and spoke to the manager who apologised and said the driver was new and didn't know the way but that our next order would be on the house, however when ordering tonight he reneged on the deal as I had put negative feedback on the Justeat page last week. I told him that the deal did not involve me not giving feedback and that his customer service skills needed to improve and won't be ordering from here again no matter how good the food!

Poor customer service. Delivery took two hours. When calling up to question how they could be so far out the guy hung up on me. Food was good but won’t be using again.

We decided to have a change for dinner yeaterday and decided to have a curry and would choose to order online and get home delivery. We ordered on the just eat website and ordered a mized starter lamb tikka masala and chicken korma, also a potato cheese dish that was really nice we also got 1 naan bread. We were amazed at the promptly delivery as it arrived within 30 mins of placing the order and everything we ordered came to less than £20. A real bargain for us. The food was gorgeous and we polished it all off including a pilau rice to share in no time, we both said that we would order from here again and would definitely recommend it anyone whose interested.

My order is 45 mins late & counting.. Phone line has been engaged for the past 25 mins.. It's a shame because their food is actually amazing. 2nd time ordering & won't be again.

Been using this place since it opened and there really isn't anywhere for miles around that comes close on taste or quality. Unlike many takeaways where the food is swimming in a layer of grease when you open the container, here the food is always grease free. A good, varied menu with with a selection of dishes to suit all pallets. If I were to level a criticism it would be that they have become somewhat a victim of their own success - it's not a big kitchen and their growing popularity can mean that the wait time for your dishes at peak times can be longer than you might hope for. That said, it's still worth the wait.

Sauce was lovely but chickin was pink, called to complain, was told they bring new dishs, they came but was wrong dish, and pink again, called and abit of hassle to get money back as had to talk to just eat even though i paid cash to the company its self, they were helpful of returning money but i have been left feeling abit sick due to eating uncooked poultry, and hungry as i was left 2 hours without food. Wasnt a great experience not going back there.

Mohammad, from a previous posting is right, a very rude & ignorant driver. Came to deliver an order I placed & I was standing outside, he bellowed three times saying “oi, where’s number one”. I asked him politely after the second time he shouted to not shout as it’s a quiet street & he then said aggressively “oi, where’s number one”, I told him that’s this address & as he was being rude in tone & body language told him that I weren’t going to accept the order. Have ordered about eight times from this place & the standard is on a downward spiral, so I’m guessing won’t be using these people again.

I'm nearly 50 and have been eating Indian curries since I was about 7 years old. I live in a village near Hitchin and between Luton so I have a good choice of establishments you would rightly assume. WRONG. I have never left a Trip Advisor review before. I have eaten in all the main Indians in both towns and something is wrong with most of them. Poor service, small portions, not value for money, poor raw products, the same mixture/sauce served up with a minor difference and trying to trick me into thinking it has been separately cooked etc etc. Well I went on Trip Advisor and saw good reviews on this little back street establishment in Bearton Rd. Well nothing ventured nothing gained. I phoned and spoke to a chap with clear English which was reassuring as sometimes my order is taken wrongly. I was told it would take about 35 mins whilst most places say 1 hour min. I drove there and was greeted in a friendly manner and told to take a free bottle of fizzy pop. So good so far. The food came out in 2 plastic bags and I was told there was a couple of free popadams!! I got home, there was NO leakage from the pots, the pots were perfectly and CLEARLY labeled, no scribble. The portions were of a good size and importantly the food between the 7 of us was really nice to eat. If I had to be a bit critical I would say the onion bhaji's were a little soft/mushy. That said I will be returning and hope this place keeps up the very good service. Cost of 7 rice, curry, 1 x japatti, 2 starters a little under £70. so good value also.

I’ve just had my third takeaway from this place and yet again, the food was absolutely spot on.

Ordered a takeaway on a Friday evening expecting a long wait. Food arrived in less than 30 minutes and was excellent, the best curry my wife and I have had in a long time. Prompt service, excellent food and reasonable price, what more could you ask for. We will definitely be using their takeaway service again.

We have collected each time we have been, but the curry is worth the effort. the first time I went I had a dansak not realising it came uner the 'hot' category, but having asked this week for it to be medium, it was wonderful!

Delivery driver was so rude. When we asked him why the coke was hot he told me put it in the fridge. The food was bland , cold and tastless .. just salt . Not happy we ordered from here again because the food was so yummy the first time but this time im not impressed. Wont be ordering again! Sorry guys

My third time ordering from here. Simply awesome food and friendly staff. I tried a chicken jalfrezi, chicken dansak & chicken chat. The best I had in long long time. Will be back for more! :-D

Starters of onion bajee and prawn purée very good, mixed grill far too salty and overlooked inedible.

Great take away, they have a lot of choice for vegetarians. Very friendly and prices are good. Have had a lot of food from here and it's always been really nice.

Always enjoy the curries from here. Great selection, and also good selection of veggie (& Quorn) dishes. Friendly staff too.
