Umm really sorry - I was a bit hanging when I ate here!! I do remember it being quite dark inside and the food being a bit average. A lot of grease in the dishes and not much spice.

I went here with my family including my teenage daughter who was made to feel uncomfortable by the young waiters staring at her all evening. The food was pretty average, nothing special.

Went there on my 50th birthday with a friend. It started off the waiter asking us if we wanted 2 poppadoms or 4 - didn't know that was the only choice, we asked for 4 - he brought 2 - we reminded him we had asked for 4 - I don't think he was listening. I ordered a butter chicken, and my friend had something else - both of our meat dishes were lacking in meat, lots of sauce, but hardly any meat, and there was some oil on the top of my sauce - it was Ok, you could eat it. so a very average meal, service was'nt too bad, but I wouldn't rush back there, I would rather pay more and have more meat in my dish.

From the outside the place looked quite modern and clean especially after walking up the hill and passing a few older curry houses on the way that looked a little tired.Starter for me was a mixed platter (about 80p dearer than the majority of the starters) It turned up and i was a little taken back by only getting 1 small chicken Tikka bite, 1 small lamb bite and a kebab that was about 3 inches long at best. Where ever i have gone before you get at least 2 pieces of everything and for the same cost. It tasted fine to be fair and the service was prompt too, as was the food presentation. The main arrived (Chicken and Mushroom Balti) and again it tasted reasonable but i was a little concerned when i could only find about 5 very small pieces of chicken and plenty of mushrooms. Everything else was as you would expect but nothing stood out in a positive way, and my friend felt the same.I have heard that there are better places to eat around Swindon, and i for one will be looking these out next time i'm there.

In a town full of amazing Indian restaurant's you really need to be big in the game to make yourself stand out. These guys do an ok curry for a regular price you would see else where. everything i've tried from them is all a bit on the bland side and a bit watery in some cases. The Bhuna for me is a highlight in a otherwise very lack luster menu.

A totally lacklustre restaurant, clean and tidy but the waiters were bored and the food was basically boiled chicken with a sauce and coriander on top. Not awful but would not go again.

This was the first curry house I ever visited when moving to Swindon and I still go there a few times a year. It is a favourite amongst the locals. I would say there are some better curry houses but they have a good menu and the price is affordable. I tend to like spicey and the vindaloo is hit or miss. But in general I really like the place.

Having visited the Curry Garden last weekend I was greeted with the usual high standard of service, and equal standard of food.. their Chicken Jalfrazi is to die for!!.. I have been a regular visitor to the curry over the past 25 years. In my experience very few restaurants in the locality can be compared with Curry Garden.

Went with three work colleagues. Had main, rice and a paratha. The paratha wasn't a proper paratha but a flat naan, the chicken chilli tikka was tasteless and full of food colouring. All our curries looked the same, despite ordering completely different things. Looked like it come from a jar, despite ordering a so-called house speciality. The worst asian food I have had in the last five years.

Four of us turned up and had a thoroughly pleasant starter of the usual poppadoms with pickles and drinks. We ordered main course and were treated rather poorly by the various staff members on hand. Upon receiving the main meals all four of us were incredibly disappointed to note a lack of flavour and seasoning, two lamb dishes we ordered contained incredibly overcooked and chewy lamb 'tikka'.However, credit must be given to the staff member who dealt with my complaint. I approached and stated that we were prepared to pay for the drinks and poppadoms but refused to pay for main course. The waiter on hand was courteous and apologetic, offering to re-order the meal. Instead we opted to pay £20 and leave to seek our mains elsewhere.

The Mela was booked which Is our first choice for an Indian Meal So we went to this curry house and it was dirty, and service was rubbish. After ordering we waited 50 mins and thinking well it must be be nice after waiting for so long. The dish I ordered was Lamb Bhuriani It was so dry and the rice was so over cooked that at the bottom it was hard. The Veg curry sauce was tasteless and cold. Then they throw a hard cold fried egg on top. I don't like to complain so instead I left mine and my hubby ate just a little of his Tandoori and left . No tips here. but in the end we went to Burger King better tasting.

We already had in this place once and dint really like it; but you would ask why we went again. We had a few pints in Steam Railway pub; and this was the closest curry nearby. We went there on a sunday noon; and there was no one else... we ordered a beer and couple of starters. The waiter was absolutely rude and impolite. He wanted us to order the main course at same time; and his logic was "there are a lot of you coming here and just having beer and starters and leaving. I asked him; dont they pay you; because we plan to pay you for beer and starters and then order main course. His response (you wont believe it); I am the only person serving; and there is only one chef and how many times you want me to go to the kitche, fawlty towers is better.

My wife and I eat out weekly at Swindons Indian restaurants and this restaurant is the worst - too be avoided. Packet food warmed up full of gee, service appalling by untrained staff and stewed coffee to finish. Tables are crowded together, dirty and sticky from earlier diners, nothing romantic or business like.

Go here when you are too drunk to go anywhere else!Food was less than average, kind of food you expect to puke up in the cab on the way home, expensice for what they served, overly spiced,to go into the toilets you needed waders and there was no drying facilities.

We visited the curry garden at a busy Saturday evening service so this might explain the poor service. However, the staff just didn't seem bothered about good customer service. All in all we just felt like their attitude was feed them and ship them out with minimum effort. We eat a nice starter but waited 25 minutes for the main courses. When they eventually brought it out the order was incomplete so we waited a further 10 minutes for the rest. The staff really didn't seem to care. I Have been here before and thought it was ok, but after this visit I won't be going again.

Had several great meals here over the last couple of years.Usually have chicken tikka masala but having now decided to turn veggie picked the potato balti. Loved it! My husband ordered the veggie platter. Bombay potato, mushrooms and vegetable curry. Far too much for 1 person really but all fantastic. Can really recommend a meal here.

I have been using the curry garden for around 10years now, I have never had any problems with service, food or atmosphere. I have been to a few other curry places in Swindon, but they do not measure to the curry garden. The waiters love my children, and they chat to them, and even give them free ice creams!!! My youngest daughter is 8 years old and she loves this place, she really likes the taste of their chicken!! The food is good in quality and quantity, prices are reasonable and its in a great location. If you have never been, then please try it, its great!!

I visited the curry garden with my partner on Sunday night. We choose it due to them having at least four people in there dining as other restaurants were even more quiet. When we walked in one of the waiters tutted and then proceeded to shove us in a corner and slammed the menus down, bare in mind this was at 8.30pm. Another waited asked for our drinks order and if we wanted popadums. We were served this and then we waited.....and waited...whilst we waited the waiter answered his call and proceeded to have conversation with a friends and swore whilst doing so. the music was off by now and the restaurant had cleared. We waited more and finally after finishing our drinks he came and took our order in a very unfriendly way. After ordering, we waited for a further half and hour and a party entered to which really annoyed the waiter and he once swore about them all again. we had to turn and stare at the waiters for them to serve us another round of drinks - one was spaying himself behind the bar with deodorant. We also asked for the music to be turned on. Our food arrived and was plonked on the table. i must admit it tasted very nice although contained a lot of onion to bulk it out but by now we just felt uncomfortable. We had to approach the bar area to pay and not one thank you was mentioned. overall i suggest that you go else where to eat this is a restaurant which should be grateful for business in a middle of a credit crunch!!
