Curry Corner in Cheltenham

A lovely meal and the best curry I've had in a long time. Great service too.

I have been born & bought up in Cheltenham , been coming to Curry corner for generations , it is still our family's favourite restaurant . We had dinner tonight and the whole family agree it is still epic - our food was excellent, absolutely delicious, beautiful presentation & hospitable hosts. We had the chotpoti, Chicken chat and Alo chat as starters ,these were sooo delicious. We also had Chicken makhani and Auberginejol and Moza beef for main courses. We had nan. and vegetables dishes , these are great. Cannot wait to go again.

For dessert, we savored Iranian pistachio & Chocolate kulfi and Golab jamun, providing the perfect ending to our meal. The staff was friendly, and if you're a foodie, Curry Corner is a must-visit.

I am fussy about food, but this is the best curry in Britain. Go there immediately.

Just discovered a secret hidden gem , I had the Chotpoti which is very very delicious , The flavour in the curry is amazing and sooo fresh.You all can taste the freshness Had traditional Masala Tea and Lassi which are so authentic and perfect. Cannot wait till the next time I visit Curry corner again. Highly recommended .

Nice restaurant, service very good but food just average. Afghani Sheek Kebab was fatty and gristly. The Lamb Madras was good and the lamb very tender. The Chicken Tikka Masala was not like a usual chicken Tikka Masala. Lots of sauce but lacking in meat like most dishes. This restaurant does not serve alcohol and you can’t bring your own. We were asked if we would like still or sparkling water when seated. The waiter brought a bottle of water which barely gave us a glass each. I noticed on the bill it was £6!!!! It’s ok but I wouldn’t go back.

Went on a very quiet Tuesday. They don't serve alcohol and can't take any in. Food amazing but service was slow. Took over an hour for mains to arrive but it was worth the wait. Enough to take some home. Recommend the keema rice

Waited over an hour for our food. The Naga was the hottest curry we had in 55 years and could not eat any other food after that. The other other food was very good. We were invited by good friends, but we will not come here again. When we complained about the severe hotness of the naga and the long waiting times, the manager said “sorry”. The manager was not interested in my feedback. The owner came over and then simply refused to take any of our complaints on board. “I have been running this business for 30 years and I do not need your business”. If it was my restaurant, I would have handled over complaints so differently. Anyone visiting Cheltenham, please do come and dine here. We will not come again sadly.

Worst service I am never going there ever again. The food is a disgrace I was waiting 40 minutes for my food and when it arrived it was the wrong food and I didn’t realise until I’d got home. I traveled 15 minutes and they told me well you do have the right food, but if you’re not happy you can come back and get your korma. They gave me masala sauce and I asked for korma. They said to come back and get your Korma we are busy. never go back….

We’ve just had the most delicious curry at Curry Corner. This is authentic Indian cuisine made with beautifully fresh ingredients. The curry’s have texture and have lots of flavour. We don’t normally opt for deserts after having a curry but since our little boy was with us, he wanted to try their ice-cream and OMG it’s incredible. The pistachio ice-cream is unbelievable, in fact so good I told the owner she should have a little ice-cream stall too. Just to add they are all homemade. We went on to try the orange and coconut too and they were equally as good. The service throughout was warm and welcoming too. All in all a lovely dinner out and we will return again. Ordered a huge takeaway for a family birthday. Discussed the order a few days before. Such good customer service and attentively dealt with all allergies and preferences. The food arrived on time and was all piping hot (impressive given how much there was). Quality of the food was excellent and they even got in touch to make sure everything was ok. Will order from here again for small and large orders.

Exceptional service. Menu and food. Although the restaurant is a .5 of a mile outside of the town centre, the walk is more than compensate for by the quality of the food. If you are an Indian food lover, then please visit and sample their food.

We went there on a Wednesday evening and the place was deserted (literally just our table) which gave of a weird vibe. Staff was friendly with excellent attention to detail. Food was amazing so definitely recommended but maybe advised to go on a bit of a busier night.

We had a takeaway from the curry corner for a treat and it was disappointing. All three were vegetarian/vegan and the a mix of flavours but all lacked substance. They had little muted vegetable content and were smoothed in sauce. The flavours were excellent but lacked crunch. Would I do it again. No. Too many alternatives to choose from who have upped their game and produce better meals

Went here to celebrate our daughters birthday and engagement. The restaurant setting is very pleasant and the atmosphere and service is perfect , nice to not be rushed in anyway .The star of the show is the food which was full of flavour and fantastically cooked .Very impressed and sure to return.

Love the food from Curry Corner. We have eaten in and ordered a takeaway The standard is very high. Everything has depth and freshness to it. The guys who work here are really welcoming. Perfect !

Chef/Manager advised that king prawns are supposed to be of a chewy/rubbery texture even after I explained I wasn’t able to eat it. He wouldn’t change the dish for an alternative or provide a refund. Absolutely disgusting service. Will not be returning.

Although the food was very good, service was very slow and we were kept waiting for a very long time with without an apology. When we sat down initially we ordered two jugs of water but these didn't arrive, 15 minutes later we ordered two more from a different waiter which did arrive after a while. We waited a long time for out starters and even longer for our main courses. I would suggest you only try this restaurant if you are very patient. Incidentally this is a strictly no alcohol establishment.

Curry Corner has only been serving take-aways since the start of the pandemic but we recently heard on the grapevine that it is open again for dinner. We used to eat here regularly and believed it was the best Indian restaurant in Cheltenham and so we booked for dinner here on Saturday. We were not disappointed. The food is just as brilliant as ever, the menu is unchanged and the prices are extremely reasonable. My only criticism is that the welcome and front of house service is very poor (it always was!) but it is worth putting up with this for the unique and superb food. And the excellent value.

I ordered takeaway at 18.20 with an eta of 19.40. When I rang at 20.00 to ask where it was I was told it was “busy”. Don’t bother, man y better places in Cheltenham. It still hasn’t arrived btw, at 20.15.

Dreadful customer service. Got our order completely wrong and then tried to blame us for their god awful service. Waited 35 mins for starters and the mains came whilst they still hadn’t cleared the starter plates. Had a full argument with the owner in the reception. Embarrassing behaviour!! Absolutely avoid at all costs.

Could not fault the food, extremely good and well presented. Staff very welcoming and nothing too much trouble.

Ordered the night before for New Year's Eve and had to wait 15 mins outside when I turned up on the night! But the main problem we had was that the garlic chilli chicken and also the longhorn beef rogan josh were very, very salty. It was so bad my wife couldn't eat it and I struggled. I phoned immediately to let them know this and was just thanked for informing them. I was also told that they hadn't had this problem before, but I see from a previous comment here that this isn't true. It has happened before, which is poor customer service, in my mind. It put a real dampner on our New Year's Eve night as we had really been looking forward to it. It's such a shame, as we have ordered here for special curry nights before and it's always been of the highest quality, but we will now try a few other curry restaurants before revisiting again. ☹️

This has to be one of the best food experiences in Cheltenham, they say they only use fresh ingredients and that comes through in the flavour of the dishes, amazing ingredients and amazingly cooked. The chotpotti is one of my favourites but every dish I have tried has always been perfect.

We ate here years ago and were only moderately impressed. However, we returned for a takeaway last night and it was faultless. The curried lamb shank, in particular, was excellent. The meal was also made to the minute of the pre-booked collection time, so was piping hot, which isn't our experience with deliveries.

Expensive but the standard is very poor. We couldn’t finish the starters (tasteless) and one curry sauce was so salty we couldn’t eat it. Over priced & poor quality.

I've not actually bene into this restaurant yet, but we plan to go soon. We have however ordered through Deliveroo about 4 or 5 times, and it’s always amazing! In terms of mid-range price Indian food, i would say this is the best. You can tell the meat is good quality and the taste is amazing. Personally I love the King Prawn Luchi Poori and the Special Tikka Masala. Worth trying.

Tried this place because of the good reviews and I was equally amazed by the excellent food here. I ordered the new chilli chicken curry recipe as a takeaway and was blown away by how good the food was. This was hands down one of the best Indian restaurants I have eaten at. The service was very friendly, you could tell that it's a family business, warm hearted, good people. Will order again soon.

Placed order on their own website. Money came out of account (almost £60) but they said that they hadn’t received my order. Called up to explain the situation and was told very rudely that there was nothing they could do. I went into the restaurant to get further clarification and a better explanation to be told the same thing- there was nothing they could do and that it wasn’t their responsibility, even though the order was placed on their website! The lady who I spoke to in store was rude and abusive, saying I was “paranoid” and that I’m “obviously a paranoid person” because I I was worried I wasn’t going to receive a refund for the food I had paid for. Never ever again. Such a shame as I like giving my money to small businesses, especially after Covid but I certainly will not be visiting again.

The best most consistently excellent restaurant in Cheltenham.

This was the best Indian takeaway that we’ve had in a long time. Excellent quality of food. The meat samosas in particular were the best I’ve had. Highly recommend!

We were staying in an excellent Airbnb very close to the restaurant and Curry Corner was a recommend from the host. Due to Covid restrictions we could only order a takeaway and so glad we did. Slightly more expensive than the average curry house but definitely worth it as this is not your average curry house. Exciting menu, beautifully cooked, with fresh ingredients. Fabulous family owned and run Restaurant. Excellent value for money due to the quality of the dishes. Highly recommended. Only wish I lived locally to order regularly.

A beautiful restaurant in Cheltenham. I must admit from the outside its appearance can be deceiving, as it looks like a converted house. But on the inside it looks spectacular. More importantly the service, menu choice and quality of food are exceptional. Its not cheap by any means, but its well worth every penny. Looking forward to returning in the near future.

We first went here 40 years ago. The restaurant has changed a great deal and is so much more than your average curry house now and quite pricy The service was good although a little slow, however it was a very busy Saturday night. The food was imaginative and beautifully presented. Several of us found that our dishes were not as spicy as we would have liked, but it was very tasty. The only reason I have not given 5 stars is because, if anything, there was a little too much choice on the menu and our starters and meals all arrived Luke warm rather than piping hot.

Food had good flavours but nothing mind blowing really. Tiny portions (Rogan Josh is literally 2 spoonfuls in a minute starter size bowl), quite expensive for what is was. Service was great, but much better value restaurants, even in central London.

We had a lovely meal at The Curry Corner, but when we arrived the place was full of groups that had been to the racing all day, who were very loud, but after they left the atmosphere was much improved.

Established in 1977. Great to meet the owner whom was more than happy to give us the background of how it all started. Genuine and very nice man. Excellent service and very tasty dishes. Best curry I've had for years.

This is our family's favourite place in Cheltenham for Indian food. We love everything we've tried from the menu, the stylish decor and the friendly service from the owners and their team. I've booked The Curry for a couple of events and am looking forward to going back for those. Highly recommended.

Absolutely brilliant food! Glad I did not pay attention to naysayers. This was the best and the most authentic indian meal outside of India! The sheer balance of flavours, OMG 👌, the taste, the juiciness, mmmmm. Pity we were not hungrier, we only had two mains and sides, but everything was heavenly. The owner popped in and said hi which madd us feel very valued and the server was kind and efficient too. My hubbie said his lamb shank was the best he ever had in his life. We also appreciated a small surprise before our bill. Definitely outstanding!

Ate here with a group of friends and left somewhat disappointed. The restaurant seemed to really struggle having a group in, taking over an hour just to get drinks sorted. We ordered food which took over a further hour to arrive, and when it did one half of the table got theirs 15 minutes before the other half. The food, although the flavours were quite good, the portions were very small. The Chicken Jalfrezi for instance had only 5 small 1cm square chunks of chicken in. This is the first Indian I’ve ever had where the chicken comes as such small chunks and was quite unusual. The rice was very average, but the Naan breads were exceptional. After waiting so long for the meal you couldn’t help feeling a little disappointed.

This is a long established family restaurant which is obviously proud of its longevity.

What a great place! We last came here 30 years ago. Same family running it and very friendly. The place is now a lovely ‘upmarket’ Indian. Reasonable prices. We will be back. Great for a nice night out.
